"A great playstation port"

Metal Gear Solid on PC can be considered a good addition for a collector. The Play station original was ported to PC, but was also in emulation form for Dream cast under Bleem!Cast. This PC version is actually a port of Integral, a Japan-only update of Metal Gear Solid for Play station. The PC version and Integral have new things and features.

Story: 9/10
I like the story of Metal Gear Solid. It is interesting, complex and realistic. The only problem is that the story can be difficult to understand sometimes. It starts with the retired Solid Snake who was met by Colonel Campbell. He is told about Shadow Moses Island and what went on. He has no choice but to accept the mission. This game also has plot-twists and many surprises awaiting.

Game play: 10/10
The game play is really good. It has all the stuff from the Play station version, plus more. The PC version has a new first person view mode, VR missions, Photo shoot mode, trailers, and new difficulty mode: very easy where you have an infinite ammo MP5.

Graphics: 8/10
The graphics are good, just not too good. The play station version had blurry graphics and unclear stuff. When this game was ported to PC, they wanted to clear the blurriness and add sharpness. This didn't turn out good as some things like the snow may seem funny in shape. Otherwise, the graphics were great.

Sound: 9/10
The sound here is really good. Everything is clear and the sound for each audible action fits right in. I don't know what else to add.

Music: 9/10
Music here is also excellent. They are all catchy. The theme here, I think, is ambiance. All the musics seem quiet, minor noted, and sometimes suspenseful.

Controls: 10/10
I like the controls here because you can customize it any way you like. This helps for all who are more comfortable with different combos of keys.

Replay Value: 8/10
This game is really long. Plus, you don't get too much more by beating the game than you do in the Play station one. Some things are hard to unlock, and are not too worth the effort.

Overall: 9/10
This game is really good. It is an update of the Play station version. People who collect games like Metal Gear Solid will definitely want this since it is rare and the Integral one for PS1 isn't available in America.

Rent or Buy? Buy it. It can't be found in stores for rent.
