The Hottest Game Since Everquest or just another Star Wars Flop
Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided is a mass multi-player game based inside the Star Wars Universe. The game let's a player create his/her own identity by allowing him/her to choose between eight different races, to choose between many physical customization options, a choice of any name he/she desires, to create a brief biography for that character, and most importantly to choose a profession. The player will then be able to explore the vast worlds in Galaxies while completing missions, earning money, buying/creating new items/weapons, learning/advancing in the chosen profession, and best of all socializing with the vast number of other human players in the game.
Star Wars Galaxies is a game about choices. Since there is no plot to follow and complete the player is able to do whatever he/she wants. While the chosen race and profession of the player affects that character's particular attributes, what missions and things a player decides to do will also affect those attributes. Exploring, socializing, and learning better variations of the original chosen profession are where most of the fun lies in this game. If you are looking for a game with a direct plot or a plot at all than this is not the game for you. Galaxies gives you the freedom to do whatever it is that you would like to do in the universe. Whether the player wants to become a doctor, bounty hunter, dancer, animal trainer, droid engineer, etc he/she can do that. If the player wishes to build a house and get married to another player he/she can do that as well. A player can join the empire or join the rebel or the player can just stay neutral. The possibilities of things to do in this game are limitless.
Star Wars Galaxies is a game that has excellent graphics and sound. This game should appeal to both Star Wars fans and other gamers alike. Since the game has not plot or ending it can be enjoyably played for many months. The social atmosphere of the game will put gamers into a world unlike that of any online multi-player game currently on the market.
Star Wars Galaxies has exceptional graphics and sound with immense worlds, but all that comes at a price. The games graphics will not be able to be enjoyed to the fullest without the most recent and best graphics cards and sound cards. The game will also be very jumpy and slow for those that do not have newer processors and massive amounts of ddr memory. Even those gamers with the recommended 512 mb of ddr memory will find the game irritatingly jumpy in towns with many other human players. Another con is that after you pay the $49.99 for the regular game or the $74.99 for the collectors edition the gamer will be have to pay a monthly fee of $14.99 for server maintenance. As in super markets buying in bulk counts and the more months you buy when you first register the cheaper the payments are a month. While the game gives a small user's manual to get started, in order to get the most out of the game it will be necessary to read through the actual user's manual which appears to be more like a novel than a manual.
Star Wars Galaxies is a gaming experience like no other. The game will take you through some of the most beautiful gaming cities ever made and will take you on some of the most memorable gaming adventures of your life. Also with the hush hush secret of how to unlock a force sensitive playable character that will be able to eventually become a lightsaber wielding Jedi, this game should have even the most hardcore of gamers pulling their hair out for months. Game On!
