"No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy In H.A.R.M.S. Way Review"
Now what wouldn't appeal to you that this game is a shooter, but in the 60's, with style, with attitude, with....mimes! Yes this adventure also involves a lot of very clever and deviously funny jokes. What's not to like?
Now as I start with every review, I start with the graphics. This has to be one of the BEST graphics in gaming I have ever seen. Not a flaw in the surroundings, or character models. Everything feels so real, you feel like you're right there in a living cartoon! Although this game is a little more realistic than a cartoon, it still has INCREDIBLE graphical power. But wait! It only gets better!
From the voice over's of English actors and actresses, to the sound of gun fire bursting, everything sounds authentic. There's always noise somewhere not a moment of silence. Then there's the music. It's at least nice enough to fit the surrounds with a 60's twist stuck in every tune. Also the enemies yell out cries of pain or revenge when they're shot and sometimes the stuff is pretty entertaining. Then comes the controls.
The controls as you know for many PC shooters have basically the same control scheme as any, but each has it's own different setup. This game is VERY easy to maneuver. Although scrolling through weapons take a while sometimes, this would get a 10/10 on controls. Usually if you're in a heavy battle and need to change weapons it might take a while to get to the one you want (depending how many weapons you are carrying) and you could get killed in the time doing so. That's the only thing bogging it down. I have experienced no lag time whatsoever in reaction time between pressing a button and it reacting. Solid, simple controls. So how does this game do overall?
Fun Factor: 10/10
Although Single Player can be fun, Multiplayer is where the games real focus is. At first you'll start out with only two types of games to play. Cooperative and Death Match. But when you connect to online play, you are required to do some downloads (they don't take up much memory space). Then you will have maps to play in Death Match and you will have 2 new games which you download. After playing them, they are extremely fun and never ending possibility. Being able to play with others 24/7 is a blast. Always a decent amount of people playing and never to many (usually around 32 people on a day). Now many of them play for a while so you'll never be in a game alone. But this is the type of way many shooters should be. Flawless. With excitement around every corner, you don't want to pass this one up
Buy or Rent
Well if you're a fan of shooters and want something different to try, go buy this. This game might not appeal to everyone, but it will to most. With it's sassy look, fasted paced gunplay and never ending possibilities, I give it a 10/10
