II. General Info ================ Important items and persons will be highlighted throughout the walkthrough in CAPITALS, i.e. Pick up the WIG. This walkthrough is written in such a fashion as to give away as little as possible. This means that I normally let an item be, until I need it. This will (of course) mean that you have to run around a bit more, but I prefer it over the alternative. This is also a VERY quick walkthrough. If you run thru it point to point, which I DON'T recommend, you will miss 75% of the game. And it's a great game with great humour in it. I wish there where more of these games around on the market. So I would recommend that you only read up to the point where you're stuck. III. Walkthrough (Difficulty setting: Easy) =========================================== Part 3.1 - The Beginning 01. Talk to PANTAGRUEL (your "dog"). This will cause him to leave the office. 02. Take the BAG OF CANDY that PANTAGRUEL left behind. 03. Leave your office, and pick up the WASTE PAPER on the floor outside. 04. Continue to your left, and enter what appears to be a janitor's closet. 05. Close the door, and pick up the SMOCK hanging on the door. 06. Use the WASTE PAPER on the BROCHURE hanging on the wall. 07. Try to open the CLOSET. This will cause you to fall into the sewers. 09. Hear PANTAGRUEL scream. 10. Pick up the WIG from the CORPSE. Leave thru the sewer TUNNEL. 11. Go upstairs. 12. Pull the TROPHY's TAIL. 13. Go back to your office and pick up the FLOWERS now lying on the floor. 14. Go upstairs again. 15. Pick up PANTAGRUEL's SCARF and the LETTER. 16. Access your inventory and use the FLOWERS on the SMOCK. 17. Then use the SCARF on the SMOCK. 18. Finally use the WIG on the SMOCK. 19. Watch Tony change outfit (in the BUSH). Shy fella isn't he. 20. Give the BAG OF CANDY to the OLD LADY. 21. Enter Halloween Park. 22. Watch the movie-sequence. Part 3.2 - Exploring Halloween Park While in the park you'll be able to use your NOTEBOOK to get around to places you've already visited. I recommend that you run through the park once (to finish the quick- map in you NOTEBOOK, and then return to the entrance). 01. Go right on each screen until you reach SHMILEY THE CLOWN's tent. 02. Pick up the hammer. 03. Go back to the BEARDED LADYs tent, and head right towards LORENTZ's place. 04. Continue left until you see what looks like a small cabin. 05. Head towards RUFUS's. 06. Talk to RUFUS, challenge him to a contest, and use your own hammer. 07. You've won a DOLLAR. 08. Head back to LORENTZ's, and use the DOLLAR in the SLOT MACHINE. 09. Enter & talk to LORENTZ about your dog, and that you think he's in the park. 10. You will receive a FORMULA. 11. Exit. Part 3.3 - The Formula - Ingredient #1 (Milk) 01. Head back left. 02. At the signpost, there is a STICK. Take it. 03. Go to the fountain (right-most exit from the MAIN SQUARE). 04. Use STICK on CAULDRON. 05. Take CAULDRON. 06. Head to the Hot Dog VENDOR. 07. There's an entrance to the back of the van. Get in. 08. Open FREEZER. You find an EARTHWORM, frozen stiff. 09. Go back to the small cabin (se point 9 in part 3.2). 10. Insert FORMULA in CRACK, then EARTHWORM in KEYHOLE. 11. Use the retrieved KEY to unlock the DOOR, and enter. 12. Pull the LEVER. 13. Hehe. 14. Take the BOTTLE. Use it on MARBLE BUST. 15. Use broken BOTTLE (from your inventory) on KNOT. 16. Take BONE. 17. Use BONE on broken LEVER. 18. User bone-LEVER. 19. Exit. Pick up PAINT (white as milk, eh) 20. Use PAINT on CAULDRON. Part 3.4 - The Formula - Ingredient #2 (Coffee) 01. Exit (to the far right, ignore the stairs for now). 02. Go to the MAIN SQUARE. 03. Enter the ROCKET. 04. Go stand by the SKATEBOARD. 05. When RUFUS lifts up the newspaper, swipe the board. 06. Head over to the PHOTO-O-MATIC. (it's up from the Hot Dog VENDOR, and past MORTIMER's BAZAAR). 07. Continue up to the WC. 08. Sneak in, passed the gate, by the gap in the fence on the left side. 09. Place SKATEBOARD on DOORMAT. Exit by the same gap. 10. Open GATE (from the outside). 11. Head back down to the Hot Dog VENDOR, then go left. 12. Continue down until you see the NASTY LIQUID SEWAGE on our left. 13. Pick up the NASTY LIQUID SEWAGE and put it in CAULDRON (mm... coffee). Part 3.5 - The Formula - Ingredient #3 (Fruit Juice) 01. Head back to the ENTRANCE. Enter the tent of the BEARDED LADY. 02. Pick up the CARROT, TOMATO and ONION (just to save you a trip later on). 03. Go to the WHARF. 04. Use ONION on SWORDFISH. 05. Board the ship. Enter the MOUSTACHED WALRUS INN. 06. Talk to the SAD PIRATE, and ask him why he's so low. 07. Give him the ONION. 08. Order RUM (it's the only thing they have, actually). 09. Go back to the small cabin (se point 9 in part 3.2). 10. Enter cabin, and go up the stairs. 11. Enter room 206 and take the DOLL. 12. Access your inventory and use the SMOCK on the DOLL. 13. Head over to the MAIN SQUARE, and go to the Tunnel of Love. 14. Show ISABELLA the DOLL. Take the ride. 15. Use LOLLIPOP on RUM, and then RUM on CAULDRON. Got me thirsty. =) Part 3.6 - The Formula - Ingredient #4 (Gall bladder) 01. Head to MORTIMER's BAZAAR. 02. Talk to him. He'll offer you the KAMARO's GALL BLADDER. 03. You just need to get the pirate CAPTAIN to pay for his wooden leg. 04. Go left to the Hot Dog VENDOR, head left, then up. 05. On the left-hand side of THE BEAST's cage is a CHEWING GUM. Take it. 06. Head to the MAIN SQUARE, and go to the far lower right. 07. Near the TRASH CAN there is a CRUST OF DRY BREAD. It can be hard to get to. 08. Go over to the pirate ship. 09. Talk to the CAPTAIN about his leg and how he lost it. 10. Board the ship. 11. Use the CHEWING GUM on CRUST OF DRY BREAD and give to POLLY. 12. Enter the captains quarters (the one with the red C). 13. Take the JOURNAL. Examine it. So, a lying pirate? Nothing new! =) 14. So it seems the CAPTAIN has a fear of cards, eh? 15. There's an odd-looking piece of WALLPAPER on your left. 16. Take it, and examine it. It's really a MAP. 17. Examine the MAP. You now have a new place in you NOTEBOOK. 18. Go there (the DUMP), pick up the CARDS from the FRIDGE. 19. Go back to the WHARF and show the cards to the CAPTAIN. 20. He will give you a GEMSTONE. Take it back to MORTIMER. 21. He will give you the KAMARO's GALL BLADDER. 22. Put the GALL BLADDER in the CAULDRON. Part 3.7 - The Formula - Ingredient #5 & 6 (Pepper & Cherry) 01. Go back to the MAIN SQUARE. 02. Enter CARMINUCCIO's pizzeria. 03. Take HOT PEPPER and use it on CAULDRON (pepper is pepper, right?) 04. You picked up the "cherry" in part 3.6. 05. A TOMATO is red like a cherry, right? Use TOMATO on CAULDRON. 06. All done? Not quite. You'll need to mix the ingredients. 07. Head back to the ENTRANCE. 08. Use the CAULDRON on the ORGANS' REASSEMBLER. 09. All done! Head over to LORENTZ's and give him the COCKTAIL. Part 3.8 - The Castle 01. Use the CARROT on the TOP HAT. 02. Head over to MORTIMERS's BAZAAR. 03. Enter, and take the NOOSE hanging on the wall. 04. Exit, and take the CHICKEN hanging from the rope. 05. Go left to the Hot Dog VENDOR, and enter his van again. 06. Use the CHICKEN with the OVEN. 07. Go back to room 206 (see point 9 & 10 in part 3.6). 08. Open the DRAWER, and take the SLEEPING-DRAUGHT. 09. Use the SLEEPING-DRAUGHT on the CHICKEN. 10. Return to the MOUSTACHED WALRUS INN (on the pirate ship). 11. Give the CHICKEN to BIFF, and take his KEYS. 12. Exit the pirate ship. 13. Examine the BARREL on the CAPTAINS right. 14. Take a FISHSTICK (or two) out of it. 15. Go back to THE BEAST (Right from the ENTRANCE). 16. If you haven't already, talk to him to learn that he is no beast. 18. Use the KEYS to free him. 19. Put a FISHSTICK in the BOWL in the cage. 20. While the cat is eating, close to cage-door. 21. Go to room 207 (see point 9 & 10 in part 3.6). 22. Return the CAT for 3 NICKELS. 23. Head for the PHOT-O-MATIC. Use NICKELS and get PHOTOGRAPH. 24. Head back to the MOUSTACHED WALRUS INN (on the pirate ship). 25. Use the PHOTOGRAPH on the SIGNBOARD. 26. Talk to the ANCHORMAN twice. You'll get a BAG. 27. Examine the BAG, and you'll find a PLAQUE. 28. Go down to the sewer DUMP (where you got the "coffee"). 29. Pick up the SHARP STONE, which turns out to be a PLASTER CAST. 20. Go back to CARMINUCCIO's pizzeria (in MAIN SQUARE). 30. Put PLAQUE in OVEN, then take the PLAQUE (hot, hot, hot!). 31. Use PLAQUE on PLASTER CAST. 32. Use PLASTER CAST to find a WHISTLE. 33. Head up towards the CASTLE. You'll find a tree with a HOLE. 34. Put RABBIT in HOLE. Use NOOSE on TUFF OF GRASS. 35. Head left (top left, that is) to the FERRIS WHEEL. 36. Use END OF THE ROPE. 37. Go right again, and use the WHISTLE. 38. Back to the FERRIS WHEEL. Open the DOOR to the booth. 39. Pull LEVER. Part 3.9 - Inside the Castle (Okay, here I go for the quick, fast solution. The game had me running from here to there, there to here. So this should be the fastest way to finish this part). 01. Ignore the CATAPULT and the MACHINE for now. 02. Head up, and to the left, and enter the castle 03. Present yourself as a luminary and ask for the park boss. 04. Talk to the HOUSEKEEPER again. 05. Ask her if she's up for a 'Clinical Experimentation'. 06. Tell her to turn around. 07. While her back is turned, take the WASHING-UP LIQUID from her trolley. 08. Open the WARDROBE DOORS on your right. Take the BELLOWS. 09. Go up. Take the CANDLE from the left side of the CAKE. 10. Go up again, into the kitchen. Take the LOUDSPEAKER and the PASTRY TUBE. 11. Examine the LOUDSPEAKER and learn that it lacks batteries. 12. Exit the kitchen, and head left again. Talk to GWENDEL. 13. While his head is in the TUB, use the WASHING-UP LIQUID on the tub. 14. Exit the castle the same way you came in, and head right. 15. Ignore GWENDEL and continue right. Use HAMMER on BLACKTHORN. 16. You take the PLUM. Pick up the JERRY-CAN. 17. Continue to the HUT and the HAYSTACK. 18. Enter and pick up the PIPE on the floor. 19. Exit and continue right. Talk to the STATUE. 20. Ask them when they get off their shift. 21. Head all the way back into the castle, where the TUB is. 22. Push the TUB, open the TRAP DOOR and go down. 23. At the rear leg of the DRAGON is a small DOOR. Open it. 24. Put the PIPE in the HOLE behind the DOOR. 25. Use the JERRY-CAN on the PIPE. 26. Throw the JERRY-CAN down the WELL. Light the CANDLE on the FLAMES. 27. Exit castle, head left and continue to the HAYSTACK. 28. Use CANDLE on HAYSTACK. Pick up NEEDLE. Use door. 29. Use WEIGHTS. 30. Guess what? Back to the castle, to the CAKE. 31. Use the NEEDLE on the CAKE. 32. Ask the girl in the CAKE for the batteries to the LOUDSPEAKER. 33. Use BATTERY on LOUDSPEAKER. 34. Head left to the room with the TUB 35. Open the DOORS of the closet. 36. Give LOUDSPEAKER to the ZOMBIE. 37. Go left, and up, and up. 38. Push the GARGOYLE on your right (closest to the right edge of the screen). 39. Go down, down, and left. 40. Open the closet again. 41. Go into the kitchen and take the FOOT than came of the BOAR. 42. Go back to the room with the TUB, head left. 43. Use FOOT on BOX, and take the BOULDER. 44. Head out to where the STATUE was. Take the KNIFE 45. Go to the HUT. Go inside. Use KNIFE on SHEEP. 46. Use PASTRY TUBE on PHLEGM. Head back to the castle. Use the left route. 47. Stop where GWENDEL is. Try to take the dog that he holds. 48. Look up at the clock. 49. Head back to the room with the TUB, head left. 50. Cut the ROPE outside the WINDOW with the KNIFE. 51. Go outside, where GWENDEL was. Take the DOG. 52. Go to the CATAPULT at the entrance. 53. Use BOULDER on CATAPULT, then use KNIFE on CATAPULT. 54. Head back to the castle-kitchen. 55. Open CABINET, put DOG inside and close CABINET. 56. User PLUM on WATER (where the pigeons are). 57. Let the pigeons come back, eat the plum, then scare them away again. 58. Use the LEASH. 59. Use PASTRY TUBE on HOLE. Use BELLOWS on HOLE. 60. Take MOLD, and head out to the MACHINE. 61. Use MOLD on MACHINE. Enter. 62. Go up, and enter the new opening to find PANTAGRUEL. 63. Use WOOL on PANTAGRUEL. Push PANTAGRUEL. 64. Use LEVER. 65. Go out the new exit on the right. 66. Misc ======= Whilst playing the game, and writing this walkthrough I experienced a lot of "slowdowns" in the game, and a lot of sound freezing and/or locking up. I've talked with several others who have experienced the same things. One quick solution is to just enter the menu (by pressing the 'ESC'-key) and then returning to the game. I had to do this as often as once every new screen on occasion. There may be a patch out that fixes this when you read this info. VI.
