(Game Intro)
This is an extremely in depth introduction. I cover everything from starting
the game to the End User License Agreement.
*Game Information*
Name: Space Cadet Pinball Version 5.1
Table Created for Microsoft by Maxis
Not much information, but when you think about it, it isn't much of a game! :)
You must "fight" your way through five ranks and almost 20 missions to win the
fun game that is SPACE CADET PINBALL.
Basically, you get points for hitting different parts of the pinball table.
Doing certain things in the game can cause you to get more points for hitting
the different parts. Another important aspect of the game is missions. To
accept a mission, hit a mission target, which is indicated in the game by an
flashing arrow.
*Starting Up Pinball*
Click on:
Start-All Programs-Games-Pinball
After a brief loading screen, the Pinball table will be visible. Now you can
start you very own Pinball game.
*Key Board Controls*
In this game, there are no one set of controls. You set up the controls as you
Here is how I set up my controls...
Left Flipper: Left Arrow
Right Flipper: Right Arrow
Plunger: Space Bar
Left Table Bump: Z
Right Table Bump: X
Bottom Table Bump: C
The default for pinball is...
Left Flipper: Z
Right Flipper: /
Plunger: Space Bar
Left Table Bump: X
Right Table Bump: .
Bottom Table Bump: Up Arrow
You can set it however you want. To change the controls, hit F8 and then
change the desired controls to whatever you want.
There also Hot Keys. Hot Keys are a combo of buttons when pressed at once do a
certain thing.

*End-User License Agreement*
If I really wanted to make this guide really big, I could just copy and paste
the agreement right here. BUT! I'm not that cheap. Instead, I am going to tell
you how to get to the End-User Agreement so you can read through it and agree
and continue to let Microsoft think you care about pointless documents that
take up space on your computer. I need those precious few KB!!!

There are five ranks total. In this sub section, I will go over them and what
missions are part of those ranks.
Rank Name: Missions:
Cadet Launch Training, Re-entry
Training, Target
Practice, Science.
Ensign & Lieutenant Bug Hunt, Rescue, Alien
Menace, Secret
Captain & Lieut. Commander Stray Comet, Space
Radiation, Black Hole
Threat, Cosmic Plague
Commander & Commodore Satelite Retrieval, Recon
Doomsday Machine, Time
Warp
Admiral & Fleet Admiral Secret, Cosmic Plague,
Time Warp, Maelstrom
How To Get Promoted:
Complete all of the missions that are under your
current rank. Once you do that, you will be promoted.
An easy way to tell how close you are to being Promoted is to see how many
yellow dots you have in the circle in the middle of the table.
Quick Tip:
*A mission will not end until you lose the ball*
Now that you know what a mission is and what they are, it is time to learn
what you need to do to complete them.
Cadet Missions:
Name: Launch Training
Description: Get the ball past the red light on the launch ramp 3 times.
Reward: 500,000 points and six Progress Lights.
Name: Re-Entry Training
Description: Get the ball through any of the lanes 3 times.
Reward: 500,000 points, and six progress lights.
Name: Target Practice
Description: Hit attack bumpers 8 times.
Reward: 500,000 points, and six progress lights.
Name: Science Mission
Description: Hit drop targets (there are 9)
If you need a visual for all of this stuff, email me at Duenos14@aol.com
and I will send you a picture with all of the parts pointed out. or you can go
here: C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Pinball and click on the picture to get a
picture of the table without stuff pointed out.
(Pinball Terms)
When your ball hits one, it bounces off of it while getting you some points.
There are two types of bumpers.
Small (Launch Bumpers)
There are three yellow lights above them. Once you activate all three of the
lights, the points gained for hitting the bumper increases. Everytime you
light all three up, the points earned get higher and higher.
To activate the lights, you simply need your ball to go over it.
Large (Attack Bumpers)
There are three yellow lights above them. Once you activate all three of the
lights, the points gained for hitting the bumper increases for 60 seconds. To
activate the lights, you simply need your ball to go over it.
Bumpers are perhaps the most obvious thing about pinball. Every pinball game
has them. Atleast everyone I've seen.
Lanes are designated paths for your ball. Once it's in one, you can't do
anything about it. BUT! That does not mean that lanes are bad... atleast most
The Pinball "playing field". The place you play on.
The more you "pull" on it, the harder it will hit the ball, and the farther
the ball will go.
Deployment Lights:
They light up as the ball goes over them.
Reentry Lanes:
These are the little lines above the bumpers. When your ball goes through
them, a yellow light in the lanes will light up. If you light up all three of
them (the three that are next to eachother), the points received for hitting a
bumper goes up.
Black Hole: This is under the left ramp. If your ball goes in it, you get
5,000 points
/ \
( Section 3: Other )

(Weird Stuff)
-Look at the license plate on the space ship. It says "2001" on it. Ooooh...
How weird.
-Look at the little platforms near the flippers. They say "Maxis"
and "Cinematronics" on them.
-As the ball comes closer to you, it gets smaller.
Have you noticed some weird stuff too? Send it to Duenos14@aol.com and I
will put it in the guide and give you credit.
