A classic in the puzzle genre, replay is remarkable.

The Incredible Machine ranks as one of the top puzzle games out there, and paved the way for future puzzle games. The Incredible Machine allows one to create their own Rube Goldberg machine, and fix existing ones. There are over 50 different components at your disposal, and all of them will be needed to finish this game. While some items are not particularly interesting (rope, pulley), many items are quirky and creative, such as the cat, the hamster wheel, and Bob the man.

Originality: 10/10
Before the Incredible machine, no other game had simply let the user tinker with loads of random objects, and let the machine grow from there. The simplicity of this game is the most original part. The Incredible Machine needs no story or dire scenarios in order to progress the game, the whole game is open-ended.

Replay Value: 10/10
There is no one way to solve a puzzle in the Incredible Machine, as each scenario allows different methods of attaining success. Once one finishes the game once, the game can be played over and over again, with each component in a completely different place. Even if one tires of the main story mode, the option of creating their own machine from scratch is still open, with an infinite amount of possibilities still open.

Educational Value: 9/10
The Incredible Machine in fun for people of all ages, and all while being very educational at the same time. The Incredible Machine teaches basic physics and creative thought. Many schools in Michigan have adopted the Incredible Machine as a tool which is beneficial in the stimulation of the brain, and therefore encourages students to play in their free time.

Graphics: 5/10
While the graphics tend to be somewhat grainy and discolored, graphics to not play a big part in the game. The Incredible Machine does not have great graphics, but it does not take much away from the complete experience of the game. The only major problem is that the animation, a crucial part of the game, can become laggy at times.

Sound: 1/10
The Incredible Machine's music consists of 2 horrible MIDIs which I contribute to the death of my cat. They are that bad. I advise anyone who wishes to play this game to turn off your speakers.

The game is a classic. With an absolutely tremendous replay value and unique game play, this game is a must-have.

Rating:   4.5 - Outstanding
