A fun and simple Online RPG

Progress Quest (a free download at http://www.progressquest.com/) is an Online RPG with perhaps the simplest learning curve you will ever encounter.

Plot:

The game is divided into several acts, which in turn are divided into several quests each. Of course, I do not wish to spoil the plot for you, but I will say that it is always full of surprises.

Characterization:

This is where Progress Quest truly shines. Upon started a new quest, you will be greeted with a wide variety of character options, including a name of your very own choosing, one of over twenty races and twenty classes, giving you a total of 400 options! (No, I didn't calculate that out exactly.)

Play Control:

Progress Quest gives you a wide variety of options as you play. You can resize the window, minimize the window (sorry, no maximize), and you can even move the window across the desktop! Not only that, inside the window, you can adjust the size of various fields, and even scroll through the item list!

Not half as innovative as what you can do, however, is what you no longer have to do. Gone are the days of incessant clicking and walking around which can move many otherwise exciting online RPGs to a grinding halt. Battling, shopping, and quest completion are all done automatically for you.

Features:

Progress Quest is packed full of exciting RPG features, demonstrated as follows.

Levels: Not only do you gain experience points for defeating monsters, earning enough experience points gains you a level! This system doesn't seem to have any use.
Magic: As you accomplish certain tasks and gain levels, you become proficient at particular spells. Unfortunately, these spells seem to have no use either.
Items: Every monster you defeat drops an item. These items seem to have no use other than to sell for gold.
Gold: The game's currency. Obviously no use other than to buy equipment.
Equipment: Purchased when you go to the shop, if you have enough money. It doesn't seem to have any use other than to increase your stats.
Stats: You have a LOT of stats at your disposal. The full list includes STR, CON, DEX, INT, WIS, CHA, HP Max, and MP Max. These stats appear to have no use.

Challenge:

All right, I'll admit it right now. If you are one of those masochistic freaks who likes losing at games, this game is not for you. It is not possible to lose at all. Also, if you are one of those anal retentive micromanagers who likes to have control over every itty bitty little aspect of the game, you might be disappointed. You have no control whatsoever. You simply watch the quest unfold. In fact, you don't even have to watch; you could leave it running overnight.

Graphics:

Amazing, Progress Quest has solved every graphical problem to ever plague a PC gamer! No jagged edges, no choppy frame rates, no blurry screens, no poor anti-aliasing. In fact, there is nothing at all except a simple window with lists of items and stats and progress bars. Hence the name.

Music:

Progress Quest does not have any music or sound effects whatsoever. While most games suffer at least to some extent from irritating noise, especially when your roommate or family is trying to sleep, Progress Quest will do no such thing.

Other:

In every other imaginable category, Progress Quest is the PC RPGer's dream come true. No lag, no difficult installation, no worry about system requirements, no fooling around with graphics cards, and it has yet to crash on me.

Conclusion:

Do not waste another second reading this review. Download Progress Quest now and enjoy the ultimate role playing experience!
