Why doesnt minecraft run well on my pc?

  1. I just bought a new laptop and its specs are well over whats recomended to play, but Minecraft runs all laggy and locks up too. Here are the specs for my comP.

  1. Could be your Java version. do you have 64 bit java? with 32 you'll crash all the time and it will lag horribly if you ARE using 32 bit java. try reinstalling with 64 bit java. or you arent dedicating enough memory to java.

  1. You could try installing Linux. I have never seen Linux run Minecraft poorly.

  3. I think it is just minecraft, I just bought a new alienware pc 6gb ram Gtx460M graphics care and it still does not run well....But on the other hand I have a desktop that will run this game just fine.

  4. Funny, cuz minecraft is a cpu heavy game not graphics, try messing with the video settings or upgrading java.
