"Age of Empires with tons of improvements!"

Age of Empires II is the sequel to the classic strategy game: Age of Empires. If you liked the original, you're bound to love the sequel. The sequel contains many more options in the scenario/map maker, more campaigns, more units, new tribes, and also still keeps the classic mode of playing over the internet for the ultimate challenge. You also now have a new mode to play in: Regicide, where you try to kill the opponent's king. You can also garrison (store) units inside your towers, town center, and your castle, a new building that adds a whole new aspect to the game. With more features, buildings, technologies, and easier gameplay than the original Age of Empires, this is one game you should buy.

Graphics (10/10)
Take the graphics from Age of Empires. Improve them until they're the best they can be without going 3D. You now have the graphics of Age of Empires II. Smooth and perfect. A wonderful 2D world.

Sound (10/10)
With more sound effects and everything the original had as far as sound, Age of Empires II has superior music and sound effects. All the sound matches what occurs in the game beautifully.

Controls (8/10)
The shortcuts in Age of Empires II are a little harder to learn than Age of Empires, but you can always forget about shortcuts and just use the mouse.

Challenge (10/10)
You can set the computer's difficulty, and take a shot at other people over the internet for maximum challenge! The customizable challenge on this game makes it as hard or easy as you want.

Game Length (7/10)
The game isn't very short, but it isn't very long either. However, you can save the game when you choose to continue the game when you want, which is a helpful feature.

Replay Value (10/10)
You can play this game over, and over, and over! You can play it for a long, long time. The variety of games and scenarios to choose from will keep you busy for quite a while.

Gameplay/Fun (10/10)
This game is extremely fun. Even if you get bored of all the features, you can still let it sit in the CD case for a while, then take it out and have some more fun!

Originality (3/10)
A downfall of this and other real time strategy games is their originality. The features and graphics might be different in each game, but they all have the same idea. All real time strategy games have very little differences. Age of Empires II is no exception.

Overall (8/10)
If there was only one game you could buy, buy this one. Trust me. The money's worth it. This, in my opinion, is the best real time strategy game you can find. I would recommend buying this over any other real time strategy game out there.
