"More like Warlords Cry"

Warlords Battlecry is a RTS game by Strategic Studies Group. Although not extremely popular among gamers, WB is consider by some a very good game that although not as good as other similar games like Warcraft may give you some fun… but nor for me, yes it's similar to Warcraft but it is so boring that we could just refer to it as Borecraft, (the game is even lamer than my jokes).

Story: 4/10
Presentation: 4/10

Yada, yada, a prophecy about something that you must find somehow, before it falls into the hands of the bad guys, yada, yada, good vs. evil, etc, etc, etc… The story is boring and very typical, some may say, so what Warcraft isn't exactly the most original in terms of plot but it had a magnificent universe behind it and had, (like all Blizzard games), great presentation. The only good thing is the part when you have to choose between the path of good or evil but even that doesn't really add to the game.

Graphics: 7.2/10
Design: 6.5/10

Can complain about the graphics, they are good without really something special about them. Like most Fantasy RTS games back then it uses pre-rendered 3D images and has a bit cartoonish look. Creatures like orcs, elves and the like and typical grasslands, deserts and generally everything you'd expect.

Sound: 5/10
Music: 5/10

I really have nothing special too say about the sound\music either. Typical epic wannabe music and sounds that you would expect from a game like this. The sound effects may annoy you though, especially the weapon clanging!

Gameplay: 4/10
Replay Value: 2/10

Apart from the heroes the overall gaming experience is extremely typical. Gather recourses from mines, create structures, train units of various types and fight. The units disappointed me completely because they didn't have something special and most of the time just having a bunch of the strongest ones would do just fine. What I mean is that units in RTS game must have more differences, like for example the basic archers that are good against cavalry, cavalry weak when fighting with pikemen and etc and of course some special units. The campaign is boring too because almost all missions are the same, (create a base, expand, kill, kill, kill!).

The special part about the game is the hero units. Before the game you choose their race and class something that affects the gameplay in a good way. Heroes gain experience, use skills and most of all convert mines and structures in order for you to use, since you can't just sent some gatherers to get you recourses. Heroes are great and all but don't actually enhance the gameplay, not to mention that they completely destroy the Multiplayer. You see the hero you use in the MP mode is the one you have in single player, something that means that you have to create a strong hero in SP and then play in MP. BAD DESIGN!!!

-The Hero units
-Decent graphics

-Boring plot
-Typical below average gameplay with no replay value
-Boring campaign
-Bad Multiplayer design

Also Play:
Age Of Mythology (PC)
Starcraft (PC)
Starcraft 2 (PC)
Warcraft 2-3 (PC)

Overall: 4.8/10

Well, that's about it… WB isn't worth your money and most importantly your precious time. Give it a shot from a demo if you want, otherwise don't even touch it…
