When you install the Double Deluxe version, do you have to install the expansions as well?

  1. Please say no. According to the system requirements lab I can run the Sims 2 and Nightlife, but not the celebration pack. Do I have to install the celebration pack?

I ask this because I can not find a copy of the original sims 2 for pc, so I can only buy the DD version.

    Thanks for your time!

  1. I'm pretty sure it's all on one DVD and all installed at once.

I'm guessing it's your video card that falls short - if that's the case, then you'd probably have the red flashing walls bug: http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=
Game_Help:Red_Flashing_Walls which has no real solution other than getting a new video card.

Have you looked online? If you're in the States, the EA Store has The Sims 2 for $20: http://eastore.ea.com/DRHM/servlet /ControllerServlet?Action=DisplayProductDetailsPage
    & SiteID=ea&Locale=en_US&Env=BASE&productID=72870900

Amazon.com has The Sims 2 Deluxe (doesn't have Celebration Stuff, just Nightlife) on Amazon.com for $14: http://www.amazon.com/Sims-Deluxe-Nightlife- Expansion-Pc/

  2. No. I did install it on one simple disc. You do have to take off your regular sims 2 game to install it though.

  3. If you have the original sims 2 installed then you'll have to uninstall that, once you've done that you should be able to install the double deluxe pack, with no issues. If your still having issues installing your game then after you uninstall the original sims restart your computer.

I lost my original game and had to buy DD, but I didn't have any issues with it, so it should work fine.

  4. I'm kind of foggy on this, but if you have the Sims 2 already installed your going to have to uninstall it. Sorry. Then when you start the process of installing Double Deluxe it will bring up the box saying what do you want to install with all the programs on the disk and check boxes. Uncheck the Celebration Stuff. I havent installed in a while so i'm not sure if it will autimatically bring up the box or if you have to poke around a bit.
