  1. My rogue has WAY more survivability than Alistair since he evade so much. Latter in the game he's pretty much unittable against normal attacks; there are a few annoying moves that can't be dodge though, like fighting an army of golems. Rogue deal a lot of damage anyways so threat on single target is not a problem, the issue is that they don't have taunt so it may be a challenge keeping threat on a group of enemies but in this game, a bit of chaotic threat control isn't that big of a deal.

  1. Rule number one: it's a role-playing game, therefore, play however you like!

However, this is not the "ideal" setup for a rogue. Melee rogues are better suited for raw damage output than trying to stack Str for armor and Dex for defense.

Stay behind the mob for backstabs while a warrior (like Alistair) tanks, watch things die fast.

20 Str = required for the best light armor in game
30 Dex = required for the best dagger in game
A little extra willpower or consitution if it's needed.
Everything else should be put into Cunning.

Be sure to pick up the Lethality rogue talent and Exploit Weakness assassin talent. Once set up properly and you learn to stick behind mobs, cycling stuns if needed, rogues do a truckton of damage.

  2. Primary role of a tank is to divert damage away from the rest of your party, and stay alive while doing it. The reason that warriors are good at being tanks is because they have abilities that help them with this: Threaten, Taunt, & just about every shield ability, not to mention the Champion Specialization. Rogues don't have any of these.

I wouldn't recommend it, as it will be more and more difficult to keep your rogue tank alive later in the game. Let Alistair be your tank, and focus your main character on a DPS build.
