"Definetely one of the best games on the PSX"
People might get a misconception when looking at this game, and ask themselves why Castlevania, unlike other classic series hasn't moved on to 3-D. After playing this game you will realize that 2-D games can still be awesome. Everything that had us hooked to old Castlevania games is here, only a lot better. This game takes place when (as usual) Drac comes back for another time. You play as Alucard (spell it backwards), who has sworn to destroy Dracula after Richter Belmont disappeared. There are so many new features in this game it's hard to begin. First, there are a TON of weapons, armors, accessories, and items to collect or buy at the library. There's also experience levels, like in an RPG, and when you hit guys it tells you how much HP you take out of them. You can also transform into several different forms, including a bat, a wolf, and a mist that can go through some walls. You also get help along the way, in the form of "familiars", which are small creatures who hel you and can attack enemies. I got a fairy, a bat, a demon, a ghost, and a floating sword. But that's not all. There are also a ton of bosses, including a clone of Trevor Belmont, Death, and a huge bug monster named Beezlebub. You also have a ton of secrets to find, including special relics, such as one that allows you to attain a mist for longer and move faster as a mist. That's literally only half of it. Once you beat the first castle, it flips over, and you have a new upside down castle to explore, with some new areas, bosses, and weapons to find. There's even a trick that allows you to play as Richter. There is absolutely NOTHING I can say bad about this game. This game sets the new standard for 2-D games, and since it's a Greatist Hits title, BUY THIS GAME AT ALL COSTS
