"One of The True Legends of The Mega Man Series"

The Blue Bomber has returned once again for his second adventure in the world of Mega Man Legends. This obviously takes place after the events of Mega Man Legends, and this time they plunge deeper into the depths of Mega Man’s past and reveal the truth about everything. All the loose ends are tied up and all of the questions are answered in Mega Man Legends 2!

Story: 10/10

This continues from the first Mega Man Legends. Roll is still searching for her parents, Barrel is researching the Motherlode and Mega Man is unsure of his origins. At the beginning sequence, Barrel and his old friend, Bleucher, are at what they believe to be the area where the legendary Motherlode is located. Various news crews are there to broadcast this most important event, but one reporter doesn’t seem to be there for an interview and gives them a warning about the nature of the Motherlode. Before the guards can stop this mysterious woman, she escapes and makes an attempt to prevent them from entering the Forbidden Island. As the story progresses, you learn more about the ''Great Legacy'', a race called the Ancients, and the history of Mega Man himself.

Gameplay: 10/10

The controls are the same as Mega Man Legends and The Misadventures of Tron Bonne (a prequel to Mega Man Legends focusing on the Bonne Family). If you haven’t played the first one, it may seem awkward but you’ll quickly get the hang of it. Mega Man has a myriad of abilities and moves he can perform. The controls are not too complex and make it easy for first-time players to use without much of a hassle, but you can always change the button configuration in the Option menu.

Like in Mega Man Legends, you explore deep ruins and search for items and other things that will aid you in your journey. But that was just on one island, in this, you explore more than double that! Bear in mind, that none of the ruins connect to other ones, they’re all unique in their own way. You can also acquire new weapons by taking the parts you’ve obtained while exploring ruins and give them to Roll, if you have the right parts, she’ll make a new weapon for you. But all the action doesn’t circle around the ruins, as you travel about the world, you’ll constantly encounter the Bonne and Loath pirates. There are also a few mini-games that’ll keep you hooked on this game.

Graphics and Sound: 8/10

The graphics have been slightly improved and there are a lot less jagged lines. The cut-scenes use the in-game graphics and show off the great graphical enhancements of the game. The characters look better than ever, the facial expressions really make the characters impressive and their overall design is very unique.

The voice-acting is still as good as ever. The words match their mouths perfectly and all the voices fit nicely with their respective characters. Only two voices have changed, Mega Man’s and Data’s. Mega Man VA (voice-actor) is now a woman, Susan Roman, who is Sailor Jupiter of Sailor Moon. But don’t let the fact that it’s a woman’s voice discourage you, her voice is actually very good for Mega Man. The sound effects keep true to the actual sounds (explosions, weapons firing, vehicles moving etc.), you can also adjust the volume and sound effects in the game to fit your taste.

Replayability: 9/10

Even after you have beaten the game, there is still loads more to do. A new difficulty mode opens up each time you go through the game, that way you can see how good you really are. There are many optional things, like the hidden ruin that you can only access through the Digger’s Exam (another optional part), many parts and treasures you may have missed, mini-games. And with all the difficulty levels added to this, it’s hard to keep yourself from playing again and again.

Overall: 10/10

Mega Man’s second adventure is one to be remembered, worthy of the name, ''Mega Man.''
