Lets start the guide off just talking about the game. Timesplitters was made somewhere in the year 2001, I do not know the exact date or anything like that, but I think it was sometime in that year. I just haven't been bothered to check out the GameFAQs release game data. Sometime in 2002, the sequel to Timesplitters came out, and anyone with a brain will release that is called Timesplitters 2. it is much better in alot of different categories than Timesplitters 1. But, guess what? I don't have number 2. I had a choice between TS1, and TS2 and I chose this. Well, there was a price difference of about $40. (You can ignore that phrase now, I have it!) +---+-------------------------------------------------------------+---+ | 3 | CONTROLS | 3 | +---+-------------------------------------------------------------+---+ NOTE: These are the default controls; you can change these in control setting in an game mode, but I will list here the default control command. Analog Left/Right Moves your character left to right. Not a turn, but a strafe, so the Player face does not turn to where the character is actually running to. Very useful technique for dodging bullets. • L. Analog Up/Down Moves your character directly forward; you will need this to actually move around in all of the levels. Down can make your character run... you guessed it, backwards. • R. Analog Left/Right Turns your view. Good for when you turn the corner so you can se what is coming first instead of walking up to the corner, and then having to turn around, like in some other games. • R. Analog Up/Down This time it projects your view either to the sky (Pressing down with the switch theme on) or pressing it up will make you look to the ground. The switch theme is the reverse control thing. • D-Pad Left Selects the previous weapon in your inventory. This doesn't mean select the last weapon you had equipped, but just the previous weapon in your inventory. • D-Pad Right Selects the next weapon in your inventory. If you pick up an Uzi and have a handgun equipped, press this and you will most likely equip your brand new Uzi. • D-Pad Up Zooms in your view. Only certain weapons have the zoom method. Press L2 on the weapon, and then press up and if the weapon is capable of it, then press up to zoom in. • D-Pad Down Zooms out your view. Only afew certain weapons have the ability to zoom in and out. If you want to zoom out, press L2 to get into aiming and then press the down button to zoom out. • R2 Performs the main fire that the weapon uses. Usually it is just one bullet shot out of the gun. This is the button that you will be pressing all throughout the game. • R1 Perfroms the weapons alternative fire. Some weapons don't have something different to it, so it just does the main fire. So really, you could use this as the main fire button as well. • L2 Aim, it gets up the crosshairs. Make sure you set what preference you want for it, such as toogle, or hold. My advice would be to put it on toggle. • L1 Duck, crawl. Just press the L1 button once, and it will duck your character so you can move along quietly. Not really used in the game though since there is no stealth. • Triangle Reloads your weapon. Gret for when no one is around so that you can go into a battle with a hole clip of ammo. Alternatively, run out of ammo in the clip and it does it automatically. • X This button has two uses; The first is to activate things like switches and level, doors and in the arcade mode. MENU COMMANDS ------------- X - Select TRIANGLE - Go Back CIRCLE - Cheats menu +---+-------------------------------------------------------------+---+ | 4 | EASY MODE WALKTHROUGH | 4 | +---+-------------------------------------------------------------+---+ I have decided to get into the main stuff of the guide first, which is of course, the walkthrough, Here it is: TOMB ---- This, is of course, probably the first mission in the game that you will play (it was for me). Try to learn the controls ad all before you start to go out on your killing rampage, if this is the first mission you are doing. You start off with the Mauser pistol. Run up and to either the left or the right side of the little room. One guard will walk past usually, so kill him. Run to the left, so you are out in the open. Keep running forward to where you can see the entrance to the tomb. Run down the slope and kill off the enemy you can see hiding behind the crates in the right corner. Grab the ammunition and whatever crap is in that corner, and then head round to the next section, which would be on your left. One guy will roll out, kill him. Move up and then to the right and the turn the corner to the right. A guard will be ahead of you now, kill him. Move to your left and up the slope. Keep moving up and around the corner killing the guards and you will eventually come to a section where there are crates, and afew guards hiding behind them. Wait to they pop up and then kill the suckers, or if you want, put afew bullets into those crates that you see, and they will likely explode killing all the enemies piled behind it. Once they are dead, jump down the hole in the floor and you will go down to another storey. Grab the key thing in the little section, and then afew zombies will appear. You have to headshot these guys, so do that by using the L2 button if you kept the controls default. Shoot there heads off like this, since those crosshairs are set on headshots. The zombies will only die if you shoot there heads off. Now run all the way back out to the start of the level. When a timesplitter spawns, then shoot it straight away, sometimes even before they have fully spawned. Run all the way back to where you started, but when you are out of the tomb, then run forward and past the wall on your right will be a room. Go in here and go in the red circle and you have completed the mission. CHINESE ------- From the start of the level, just grab yourself the Uzi that you will see just forward and abit left of you from the starting position. Equip it if you want to. Walk around the tunnel corner to find the very first guard. Fire afew bullets into him and he will die. Turn the corner and fire and kill the enemies that are far away. When they are dead, walk up abit and turn and look right. Kill the guard that is ready to get you from behind and take his precious ammo. You can shoot afew guards through the window here if you really want to, but it makes no difference really. Walk up into the room, kill any remaining guards (which there shouldn't be) and grab the health if you need it. If not, then leave it there so you can either come back to it, or get it on your way back. Look around the corner to the right. There are two guards here. One is in the upper right corner, and the other guard is in the upper left corner, which is straight ahead of you. Kill that guard first, then pop out and kill the guard in the upper right corner. Steal their ammunition and continue on your killing ways. Kill the guard at the end. Turn the corner and you will see a whole pile of crates with enemies as well. Stay back and fire rounds either into the enemy's body or into the crates so they explode. Kill everyone here, and just check behind in case you have missed anyone. If not, then turn the corner to your right and blast away the three enemies here. Get the one on the left and the right first, and then followed by the one hiding behind the barrier. Sometimes that guy can pop up and down and blind shoot. If he blind shoots, then go around the barrier and then shoot him. If he pops up and down, well, then just shoot him when he pops up. There will be a feast of ammo here, so grab it all. Stay under the cover of the roof that is above you. Turn back to the way you came in, and move your viewpoint up. Cycle backwards out and kill the guard who is above you. Go up the stairs and go to the right. Go down the next set of stairs and kill the few guards here. Go into the bathroom if you really need to get some health. Go into the kitchen section and start blasting away all of the guards that you can find here. Some are forward of you, some are to the left and same are to the right. Try to clear out every enemy you can see before you progress down where the goods for this level are. Collect all of the ammo that the guards left behind, also. Now head to the door, which is on your right and sniper the guy you will see at the bottom of the stairs. Run down the stairs, and go into the next little tunnel. When you come out will be afew guards using crates to avoid being shot. Either shoot the crates, or shoot the person. If they try to hide, then shoot the crate. Once all are dead, move around and into the last room. Kill the guard and grab yourself some ammo in here and also the bag. Carry the bag all the way back to the start of the level. Just go back the same way you came in to this area, go outside and take the bag all the way around to the red circle in the tunnel, where you started (and have just ended) the mission. CYBERDEN -------- There is really two ways to do this level, one is a very simple way with just the normal amount of enemies, which is usually nothing to worry about, and the there is the different way which is used just for getting the speed secret. But of course, this isn't a speed walkthrough, so we will take the basic route. If you are new to the game, then this way will be easy because you will notice things on the way back which you passed on the way there which will help you out. From the start, grab the mines or whatever and equip the Scifi Handgun. Shoot the guy in the drain bit first and then look up to your left and kill the guy on top. Walk up and steal the guy's ammo and look up once again and shoot the next guy. On the ground will be another enemy, kill him. Look up again and shoot the next guard up on the ledge. Once all enemies are dead in this section, move on. Go around the corner on the left, and then turn right and kill the guard on the left side of the hallway. By the ventilation shaft that is forward of you is some health, get it if you need it. Turn the corner and shoot eh guy at the end. Run all the way down the end and turn left and then turn right into the different coloured area. Before going into this area after the slope, shoot the guard forward and the pop out to the left and kill the guard here. Turn back and go the right side. Turn the corner and go up the slope and kill the guard. Keep going up and under the stairs will be another guard, kill him. Run up the stairs, looking backwards and up abit. Kill the guard through the window. Run up and grab the disc in the room. Once you have got the disc, then jump back down the stairs and kill all of the timesplitters that you see. They appear in random locations. Once you are down thew stairs, go back down the slop and turn left into the different coloured area. Run back up to the next slope, turn left at the end and then right into the hallway. Follow the hallway up, turn left at the end of it by the vent with the fan in it and then follow the hallway all the way around. This place now look familiar? Yes, this is near where you started. Kill the few timesplitters that appear in here and run through the gap between the fence and the ventilation shaft and go to the red circle and then you are done. VILLAGE ------- The village is a pretty simple level; in fact, I think it is easier than the tomb, Chinese and also Cyberden. This is probably the easiest level to complete in the game, on any difficulty. Pull out your Mauser and shoot the guard forward of you. Turn to the left abit and shoot the guard hiding in between the buildings. Move up abit, and on the right will be a window. An enemy is hiding in here. Shoot him, and turn the corner left and shoot the few guards around here. One is to the right and another is inside that window. You can just ignore the person in the window if you want to. Turn the corner to your right, and once again there will be afew guards. Just rapid fire your Mauser while you use the wall for protection and just shoot away. Run up, shooting the enemies on your way, turn the corner to your left and then turn to your left again and fire at the few enemies that lurk just here. Run around the corner and you shall see the jetty or whatever. Run up here and shoot the two guards. Shoot the barrels if they decide to hide and steal the package between them. Now you need to make it all the way back to the start. Run all the way back where you came from, killing the timesplitters as they come. As soon as they spawn, kill them. Take it all the way back to the start the same way you came, and you will see a red circle on the ground. Go in the red circle and you have completed this very easy mission. CHEMICAL PLANT -------------- You once again get a crappy sniper rifle in this level. They are absolutely crap, so lets stick with the pistol, which is very good for all out attack. Go out into the open and then look up straight away. You will see one guard patrolling up on the roof section. Kill the bugger and then shoot the guy to the left of you as well. Turn the corner at the end and look up again and on the right side will be one enemy standing on top of the building. I think you know what to do here. Turn the corner and blast the few enemies that may be lurking around here. Now, there is a short way or a long way to do this level. I will show you the short way, of course. You will see a little opening to your right, well, a doorway or something anyway. Go through the little doorway here. This is the quick way. Quickly, shoot under the stairs. There is one guard hiding under there, but you cannot see him because it is dark. He has a powerful weapon also, so be quick about it. Run up the stairs, but not too fast as afew soldiers will run down the stairs, and absolutely pound you will bullets. That is probably the hardest part of this level. Once they are dead, go up to the top and turn left. Kill the enemy in this section and run past the turret mounted on the side of the wall. Don't bother about shooting it. Go around the corner and around again to where the crates are. Kill the enemies hiding and then turn the corner to your left and kill the few enemies here. Run up and grab the bag. Two timesplitters will appear, one blocking the exit out of here. Kill them both with afew bullets. Jump down when they are dead. You will be near the start and the end of the level. Ignore all timesplitters and any other enemies that you have attracted and head straight for the red circle. Mission completed. ------------------------ UPDATE: This mission is the quickest that any level can be done, well IMO anyway. See how fast you can finish it. ------------------------ PLANET X -------- You start off on the ground, with no fire to be heard. Walk forward and grab the Sci-Fi Sniper Rifle. Change your weapon to the Sci-Fi Autorifle, and this is the weapon you will be using for most of this level, because it is better than the Sci-Fi Sniper Rifle in many, many ways. Head forward, and to the left abit you will see like a statue bending around. Go up the slope onto this, and then turn the corner to find two holes in the wall. Two enemies will pop out from here. Use the Scifi Autorifle and kill them both. If you want some armour, then go through the hole in the wall and run to the left and grab yourself some armour. If you didn't want any, then turn left and you will see a path winding around that wall. Take it around here. Afew guys will spawn, one in front of you, and one on the bridge. Move back behind the wall and shoot the guy in front. Then pop out and shoot the guard on the bridge and move up to the end of this section and turn the corner into the next area. Here, allot of guys will just spawn, so be careful. As soon as they spawn, run back out to where the bridge was. The guys will likely chaise you, which is good. When they come out of that section, use the Alternative fire on the Sci- Fi Autorifle and blast them all. When all of them are dead, you are safe to travel through this passage. Go up and turn the corner. There will be a path to the right and a slope forward of you. Take the slope up to the top and kill the guard on it and anyone else that appears. There will now be a path that is on your right, take this path. Kill the guards and go all the way to the top. A few guards will pop out from the left and the right, so kill them both. When both are dead, go up here and collect the bag, or the goods that you have to get. Run back down, and if you missed any enemies on the level, then they will usually catch up to you right here. Kill any timesplitters if they appear, and any guards. Head back towards the big slope where you came in this whole big area from. Run down the slop, and then right left after it and go down the path you will see. Follow this path up to the very end, and you will most likely encounter allot of enemies. Use the alternative fire method for the sci-fi auto rifle to get rid of the enemies quickly, although it takes off about 10 ammunition each time. When you are at the top, two enemies will spawn in front. Either just pound them with normal fire, or you can fire one of the alternative fire bullets into the ground to kill them both. When the enemies are killed, you are safe to complete the level. At the top, turn directly right and go in the red circle and you have completed the mission. MANSION ------- The Mansion, still on easy is a very hard level to complete. It is, in fact the hardest easy mode level to complete in the gane. If you complete this, then you are quite good. Walkthrough coming soon. DOCKS ----- You will get the sniper rifle as you start the level, but we all know that the sniper rifle is a piece of crap, so lets use the pistol I say. Move away from the boxes and shoot the first guard who is walking away from you. Run up and take his weapon and then turn the corner to your left. Pick off the few guards standing here. Walk out from this bit, and it will be a game of death. Guards are shooting everywhere, snipers shooting, and a whole lot of other things happening. Shoot the guards on the path first, and then get the guys who are hiding behind the crates, which are over to your right. Once all these guys behind the crates are dead, hide behind the wall again. There are two snipers on the big tower closest to you. If you fire close to them, then the auto aim will kick in and you can tell where he is, so just keep shooting. One is on the lower left side, and the other is high on the right side. Eliminate them both and then continue up the path. One guard will pop out from the crates above. Kill him. Turn the corner and ignore the turret, it's easier to leave it than it is to waste all of the ammo just to shoot it down. You will see a set of stairs; go up them. Walk in the room; kill the guard and then head to your right. Go down this set of stairs, and don't fall down to the lower ground. Stick to the right side. When you are up pretty far, a few guards will come out. One forward of you, one to the left and one to the right. Kill them both, mainly with the assault rifle. Walk up to this area, and you will be plagued with another hard part. Two guards will come around the corner, both hiding and then popping out. Kill them all. Then turn around, because I found out the hard way that there could still be a few guards behind be that I may have missed, and while you are free now, just look behind. Continue around the corner, for another hard part. A few guards are in those rooms. Shoot the ones in the room to your right first, and then go about killing the guards in the farthest room away. In that room will be the item that you need to take somewhere. Grab it, and collect some supplies from the next room and then head out the way you came in. Get all the way back to the steps, killing the timesplitters that come. Go down the steps and keep on going forward sticking to the path. Kill the guards on the way. Keep running and at the end turn right, and then right again. Kill the few guards here and keep going forward. You are near the end of the level. Keep running and then turn left and you should see the red circle. If you missed some enemies, then run straight forward to it. If you are free from any enemies, casually take it there and enjoy the view. SPACEWAYS --------- Spaceways, as you may know is the last level of the game. But really, you can do this mission before the mansion level or the docks if you really wanted to, but I advise that you just try to do this mission first. Leave the mansion last for good reasons. The reason I say this is that the mansion is a very hard mission to beat, and spaceways is easier than it, so do spacewyas first. Also, for completing spaceways, then you unlock challenge mode. Lets start the level now. You get the ever-popular sci-fi auto file for this mission, so use it to your advantage. It has two types of bullet methods, which are both lethal. From the start, equip your sci-fi auto rifle, and head up past the taxis. Note that these cars can't run you over or anything, they are just here to make it futuristic and be obstacles. Move forward and you will come to a T section. It doesn't matter which way you go, but out of randomness, lets go right. Head around the corner to the right and then left. One enemy will be ducking to the left by the wall. He is your first enemy in the level; kill him. Move out into the open, into the waiting area it looks like. There will be a guard on the right hiding behind the seats, eliminate him first. You do not have to eliminate all the guys on the left side of the room. You can if you want to, but I never do. Run up the slope and kill the spawned enemy. Turn the corner and through the futuristic door. A few guards will pop out at the end, so I think you know what to do here. Use the R1 function here, it proves very usefulness when you are battling allot of enemies. Once they are all dead, proceed up to the corner and then turn to your left. A guy will roll out from around the corner. Kill him. This next bit can be quite tough. Turn the corner, but make it so that you are still in cover if anything on the right tries to kill you. Shoot the guard on the left and then use R1 and try to kill the guards up farther. Then focus on the turret on the wall. Use a massive bullet to destroy it if you want. Run up and around the next corner. A few guards might pop up from the crates; shoot them if they do. Then turn the corner to the left and you will be in for a big battle. Stay back and use R1 to battle off all the enemies. Try to use the door you came through as side as a barrier, but it usually doesn't help. Just keep pounding everyone with the alternative fire method. Sometimes it is just easier to leave the turrets that it is to shoot them. Do this is you are going for the speed bonus thingy. When you are out of this section, the hardest part of the level is gone. Run up to your left and up the slope. Two guards will be behind the desk there, it's best to use an R1 on both of them. Then go up the ramp, which is on your left. Take the ramp to the very top and a few guards will spawn, one on the right and another two straight ahead of you. Kill them all and then go in the little office section and grab the goods. Head back down the way you came, killing the timesplitters and the guards that appear down here. It can sometimes get abit hectic, so be careful. Keep running down to where the desk part was, and you will see another slope on the opposite side of it. Go up this slope and follow it up. Kill the guard hiding behind the desk. Move up, and go up to the right and outside. Make a mad dash to the red circle straight ahead of you in the little room. Once you get here, you have completed the level (or sometimes the game), well done. +---+-------------------------------------------------------------+---+ | 5 | NORMAL MODE WALKTHROUGH | 5 | +---+-------------------------------------------------------------+---+ TOMB ---- To tell you the truth, I really can't give you a normal mode walkthrough for this level, because I find near the end that it is just a maze. So I will give you the walkthrough for the first part. After that, you will be on your own, because I always get lost down after the easy mode section. I'm sure that you can do it yourself if you try really, really hard. The Tomb on Normal is a very hard level. I think that it is harder than all of these following levels on normal: Chinese, Cyberden, Village, Chemical Plant and docks. The only levels on Normal mode that I think are abit harder are: Planet X (I did have abit of difficulty on this) Mansion (Hardest. Level. Ever.) and Spaceways (Not sure about this one). From the start, quickly shoot about 4 Mauser bullets into the guy that is just ahead of you. This will attract the attention of the two guards outside. They will come around that is in front of you. Kill the one on the left first, and then go around the right side and quickly fire about 4 bullets into that guy. Steal both of their ammo and go out into the room where you have to take the ankh back to when you have got it. In here will be some weapons, get them. Head out the room to the left, and kill the guard over to the right coming towards you. There will be one guard on the left also, kill him as well. Run straight for the entrance to the tomb, and look down as you are going down the slope. Shoot the guy in the corner, and then wait to the guy from the right pops out and kill him. Steal the ammo and then turn the corner to the left. One guard will pop out from behind the pillar. Kill him when he does, and then kill the guard behind him. Walk up to the corner, and shoot the guy on the right and also the guard on the left if he is there (Sometimes he is, but other times he disappears.) Turn back to your right and grab the health if you need it. If you don't need it, then save it for the long journey when you are coming back. But if you really need it now, then you may as well grab it. Turn the corner and kill the guard straight ahead of you and then turn the corner to your left. There will be two guards hiding behind those crates that you can see. Wait to they pop up, and if they both pop up at the same time, then use the wall as cover so one can't see you and then kill the other guard when he pops up next. Try not to shoot the crates here, because if they do explode, you will likely get the explosions and it will definitely hurt your health. So, avoid it. Run up the slope, but don't go past the wall on your right because there is a guard there. Shoot the two guards on the left first, and then kill the guy to the right. Look and run forward, and one zombie will appear at the end of the path. Shoot him in the head using L2 method, otherwise you wont be able to get past. Shoot the guard who pos out and then run into the area where there are two crates to your right. Shoot these guys first, and even shoot the crates and make them explode if you really need to. There is health near them, so grab that and use the pillars as cover and take out the rest of the enemies as you see them. Jump down the hole and shoot all of the guards. To the right of the slope will be a little walkway, kill the two guards here and then jump down to your right. Take the slopes down and kill the enemies. Get the ankh in the last room, and get yourself all the way out of the tomb. Often timesplitters appear at the top of slopes, so shoot them rapidly if they decide to. There will be a few zombies with Tommy guns in this level, sometimes I don't even think I got them in a headshot and they died. Oh well, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. Just run all the way back to the start. At one point, there will be no timesplitters to hastle you, so just free run all the way back out of the tomb and go in the room with the red circle. Go over the top of the red circle, and you have completed a very hard mission. If you did this level like a breeze first time, then you should be able to do every other level pretty well. CHINESE ------- Okay, from the start, walk up abit to the left and grab yourself the Uzi. My advice is to not use it just yet in the level, save it for later on in the level where you really need to blast away the enemies when they are in the groups. Stick with the ever-popular pistol and then walk around the tunnel corner. One guard will be out here and he will walk past that little opening near you. When he comes past, kill him quickly before he gets a shot on you. Go up to where he was, and then turn to the left and blast away the enemy in front of you and then the next enemy farther up in the room. Go up abit and then turn to your right and kill the enemy just there. You will most likely see a few enemies through the window. Don't bother about shooting these people. If you really want to, you can, but otherwise, just leave them. Walk up into the next room, and one guy will pop around from the pillar, kill him. Another guy will be next to the health, kill him and run up and get the health. Turn the corner into the next area, but do not actually go out of this room yet. There will be one guard in the corner on your right; another guard will be straight ahead of you hiding behind the poles of a sign. Another guy will hide behind the big statue thing in the middle of the level, just to the right of the bridge. The last guy is in the Upper Right corner. I say go out when the guy straight ahead of you clicks his gun and is ready to shoot. Pick him off first, and then stay back and get the guy hiding behind the statue in the middle, near the bridge. Then kill the guy in the upper right hand corner and then move out and kill the guy on your right. Keep going on through this section, and when you are near the dumpsters, shoot the guy here and then turn right into the Warzone. Run out abit and take out the guy who is hiding behind the crate. Sometimes he will blind shoot, so just shoot the crate. Keep locking onto the guards and shooting them; but do not go too far out. You will learn why in a minute. Stay back, and finish off the last of the guys. One guard will come around the corner at the very end; kill him. On your right is where you have to go. Just pop out abit and then come back to a position behind the wall. Guards will have shot at you. You just have to get the guards to come to you, so you can kill them. Only 1, sometimes two will come around the corner. When at least one guy has come around, you need to now attack. Turn the corner and shoot the guy near the glass pains on your right. The guys behind the little barrier will pop up and down like they are playing games. I say run up to the barrier on the right, and then go behind it and put lead in their head. Using the cover of the roof, look out towards where the gong is, then turn to your upper right to the glass pane. A guard is hiding behind there. Kill him. Then turn back to where you came in. Shoot any guards that may be here, and then move backwards out and shoot the guard that was nearly above you, hiding behind the glass panes. When he is dead, move up the stairs, and go to the left. There are two guards here, kill them both. If you did not kill them here, then they will prove a big pain in just a minute. Now from when you went up the stairs, go to the right. Run down the next set of stairs and turn to the opening near the toilets. Two chefs will be here with big weapons, so use the wall and jump out and kill them both. Walk down and kill them both. Run down to the bathrooms and get probably the last health in the level. Turn back to the door, one guard will run in. Kill him and run up and do a right turn and then right again and you will be looking into the kitchen. Kill the two chefs that are forward of you, but stay in the cover of the hallway. Pop out and kill the guard on the upper right. Hide again so you don't get shot and then pop out again and shoot all the guys on the right. You can just ignore the guys on the left if you are looking for the speed secret, but if you don't want to die, then kill them. Walk out to the right, and then to the right again where you see the opening. Kill the guard here if you haven't already, and then turn left and look down the stairs. Sniper off the guard at the bottom if you can. Run down the stairs and go to your left, kill the guard here with the shotgun, and then move up through the tunnel into the section with the crates. Move back into the tunnel and pick off the guy you can see, then move to the left and kill the other few guys. Some of them are blind shooting, if they are, then just shoot the crate, or wait back until they stop blind shooting and then kill them when they pop up. Do whichever one you want. Walk up and collect the ammo and all and then walk through the next tunnel. You have nearly got the goods. Turn to the right before coming into the room, and then strafe so you have got a good shot at the enemy straight away. Grab the bag once the enemy is dead, and then kill all of the timesplitters that are in your way on the way back. They spawn in allot of different places, so I can't give you an exact location of every single enemy. Just run back the same way you came, and shooting the timesplitters as you see them. Run all the way back out the Chinese restaurant and all the way back to the tunnel and go to the red circle and then you have completed the level. CYBERDEN -------- The Normal mode in the Cyberden is VERY different to the Easy mode. There is allot of differences, and you have to go along way to get the disc and get back. If you can't do this, then you may have no hope of doing the mansion on normal. The main two weapons you will be using on this mission are the sci-fi handgun, and the Assault Shotgun. You may need to use the rocket launcher on a few occasions here. First of all, when you start in the tunnel, get out your sci-fi handgun first. Just pop out abit, so that you can see the two guards that pop out of the drain section. Kill both of these guys first. Then you may want to move out abit and kill the guard standing above you, on the little walkway above. More guys will come down, so shoot them as well. Go along shooting the guards that are up top on those walkway things, there is about 3 of them up here, all looking down ready to pick you off and kill you. Some guards will appear from nowhere here on the ground, so just kill them easily. Make sure you garb the feast of ammo that is lying around for you to just take. You will probably now have the rocket launcher and maybe the assault shotgun. Still keep out your sci-fi handgun I say, because the next few bits only require the use of this. Turn the corner that is on the left, and you shall see one guard straight away. Shoot him before he even gets a chance to shoot you. Steal his ammo. Then turn the corner to your right, and shoot the guard that is on the left side of the corridor. Run up and steal his ammo and grab the health by the ventilation shaft. Turn the corner, and down the other end will be in guard, but he has a rocket launcher. So, just fire and fire down there until he is dead. No time for saving ammo here, as you will probably die if you don't try to pelt him with bullets. Run up and collect his rocket launcher ammunition. This next bit can be quite difficult to do, especially since all the enemies get in your way and shoot you from behind. Just look behind in case you forgot to kill some enemies before, and then return your viewpoint to the front. Turn to your right and shoot the few guards here. Do not actually run up there yet. There is a turret on the wall all the way up the other end. Try to fire a bazooka round so it will hit the turret and destroy it. You may have to run up and shoot the rocket and use the path on the left as a barrier. Destroy the turret now; otherwise it will be a pain later on in the level. Once it has been gotten rid of, then head back all the way down and take the path to the right so that you come to the area with different lighting. Straight away kill the guard in front of you, and as the wall ends on your left, turn left and kill the guard waiting in the corner. Then kill the next guard just up ahead. Run up and go the path on your right. Go up the slope, and you will see a few guards here. Kill them both and run up under the stairs and collect their ammunition. Then run up the stairs and kill the guard on them and shoot the guy through the window. Sometimes this guy disappears when I'm playing, but sometimes he is there. Run up and into the room where you got the disc on the easy mode. But, the disc is not here now. Just grab yourself some armour and hit the switch by pressing X on the machine. Look through the window and there will be two guards here, one standing on the walkway to your right, and one nearly above you which you might have to go to the right abit to kill him. Turn back to the way you came in, but make sure you got the health in here, you will definitely need it for the rest of the level. Head right so that you a next to the window. Then turn the corner to the left and kill the guard here. Steal his ammo and run to the very ledge of this section. Looking below, there are a few enemies. Don't worry about them, first what you have to do is to get rid of the turret that is on your left. Try to use your rocket launcher to get rid of it. Peer out abit from the ledge and then shoot one (or three using the alternative fire method) towards the turret. You will hear the turret explode if you got it right. Then you can jump down. You will see some armour just ahead of you. Do not get this armour yet; you will need to save it for when you come back along here. Turn to your right and kill the guard at the end and then grab some supplies. Head down the path you will find and you will come into a room with big things in the middle. A few guys will spawn, so kill the suckers. You will then see the disc, so grab the disc. That's the easy bit gone. Now you have to battle some timesplitters as well as get back. Kill the few timesplitters that spawn, and run back to where yo were when you first came down the ledge where you shot the turret. Then grab the armour here. Run down this path. You think you are nearly home, right? Well, the main entrance to the end/start of the level is now blocked off because of the switch you needed to press to get the disc in the first place. You need to try and find another way in. Turn to your left. Now, the turret would of been on the wall just up ahead, but it's not since we took it out before, remember? Run up and under the stairs and on the stairs will be allot of enemies, eliminate them all before they kill you. Steal their ammo and then run up the stairs. Shoot the guy at the top and go around the corner and jump down. You are now in the section where you started and are going to end this level. Head to the left, and try to ignore everyone, just try to sprint straight for the vent and go straight for the red circle. Walk over the circle and you have completed the mission. VILLAGE ------- The Village, still on normal is the easiest normal level of the game. It should really be a piece of cake to finish, and you should have no trouble doing it. If you can't do this level on normal, then you really have no hope of the later levels in the game on normal then, like the mansion. But it is okay if you do die on this level. Even the best do. From the start, you will start off with the Mauser pistol, and it will also give you a shotgun to use as well. The shotgun is really just a piece of crap. Use the Mauser. Run out and kill the guard just forward of you. To the left in the little incline will be another guard firing at you, he has a pretty open shot, so kill him. On your right will be a window, one guard is shooting you through here. Kill the guard in there and then walk up farther, towards the corner, but don't turn it yet. Just to your upper left hiding behind the two buildings will be another guard. I think you know what to do here, kill him. Also, there is another window with a guard in it, so kill him as well. Then turn the corner to your left and blast away the few guards that are here. One is in the incline next to the two buildings on the upper left, and is just straight ahead and one is popping up through the window. Shoot the easiest guy first, and then the guy to the upper left hiding and then shoot the guard who is popping up and shooting through the window. Run up and collect some ammo. Then turn the corner to your right. Guards will be hiding and shooting also. Kill the guards ahead of you first and then get the guy hiding on the left side. Run all the way up, and there is a little shortcut that you can take at the end here. When you are at the end of this road and the enemies are dead, then look to your upper left. There will be a little passage between the two buildings. Shoot the guard here and go through this passageway. Turn right and kill the guard in here and move into the wooden room. One guard will pop out and shoot, kill him just before he is going to shoot you, and steal his ammo. Peep out the room to your right and shoot the guard nearly in front of you. Turn to your left. There will be three guards here. Two will be at the end of the jetty, and the other one will be just to the right of it. Do a sweep with your Tommy gun and kill them all. Turn to your right and kill the guard through the window and the guard on the floor and run and grab the health and the guy's ammo at the end of the jetty. Run down to where you just killed the guy, collect the ammunition and run up to the path. Kill the guard around here. Make sure you don't fall in the ocean around here. Follow the path around to find a few more enemies, two in front of you and one to the left. Use your Tommy gun to kill them very quickly. Then run up. Ignore the path to your left and keep going on forward. Shoot the guard here, and a zombie guy will spawn. Try and shoot him in the head to kill him. If you didn't get him in the head, then shoot it off when he is on the ground, or wait to he gets back up and then you can shoot his head off, but to save some ammo, use the alternative fire. To the right will be a little path. Go down this path and turn right and kill the guards immediately. A zombie will spawn, so shoot his head off. Run down to the next entrance and there will be enemies hiding behind crates. Shoot the crate that is directly forward of you, that is the one that has an enemy hiding behind it. The explosion will also kill another enemy that is behind that one. Move up and into the next room and on your right will be what you have to pick up. Once you collect it, the door on your right will open and zombies will come out. There will be about 3 or 4 at first, so try and shoot their heads off. If you have done last stand in the Arcade mode, then shooting their heads off should be easy. Use the R1 method to save some ammo. Just do sweeps around with your Tommy gun. Make sure you put the reset viewpoint on and the aim mode to toggle. It will make shooting the zombies allot easier. Once they are all dead, then go up the stairs. Another two zombies will appear at the top of the stairs. You can try to pick them off like this, or you can lead them back down to their death. Whichever way, headshot them. When they are both dead, run out of this room and to the left. Kill the timesplitters that are on the way and keep on going around the roads back to the start. When you reach near the start, there will be about 4 timesplitters protecting your base. Get your Tommy gun out and pound them all full of bullets while dodging the fire. Around the corner will be a red circle, take what you picked up to this circle. Just walk over the top of the circle, and you have completed this very easy mission. CHEMICAL PLANT -------------- The chemical plant isn't a big level, but it is a hard level to complete. Well, it's not as hard as maybe Spaceways, Tomb, and the Mansion on Normal, but still a real challenge, and the guys with shotguns hurt as well. Ah, guess what, you get a stupid sniper rifle for this mission as well. This is a crap weapon, so I suggest just sticking with your pistol for the time being. Move out, and you will most likely see a guard hide behind the crates. Shoot the guy up here first, and the guy behind the crates will then pop up. Shoot this guy, and then move out and look up to your right and one guard will be walking along the walkway up here. Kill him before he snipers you off. When he has been gotten rid of, run up to where the crates were and shoot the guy standing up on the roof, a few bullets should bring him down. Turn the corner to your left. Now, there are two guards here. One is in the entrance to the stairs, and the other is ready to sniper from above that guy. Get the guy that is on the ground first, and then look up and kill the guy up top. Run up and steal both of their ammo. Unfortunately, you cannot use the stairs in normal mode. A few crates have blocked off the stairs, so that you cannot take a shortcut and get to whatever you have to get to very quickly. Ah well, looks like we have to do it the hard way. Turn the corner to your left and straight away look up. Kill the guard up top. Run up and look to your right. There are three guards here, but right now you can only see one. Kill the one by all of the crates. The other two are above near where the crates are. They have shotguns also. You can either shoot these guys, which sometimes miss, or just leave them. If your looking for speed, then just skip them; They wont do much harm if you get some cover. Go to the doorway, and look into the next part. There are two guards here, both with good weapons. Make sure the guy on the left can't see you while you sniper the guy on the right. Run in here and collect all the ammo waiting for you. There's a full Uzi and full handgun ammo here, so collect them both. Enemies will rush in from both doorways, so watch them both. Mainly guards will come in from the left, so kill them when they do and then go out that way. Once guard will jump down from above, so kill him. There is one guard trying to be sneaky, he is under the metal set of stairs. Shoot him before he pounds your health down. Go under there and steal his supplies. Then run up the stairs to the top and look to your right and kill the guard you will see there. Look to your left now, and there will be two guards on little walkways. Pick them both off from where you are now, because they have pretty dumb vision. Look to your right and kill the guard in the doorway. Move around the walkway until you get to where that guard be. Steal his ammo and shoot the guard ahead of you, and the one to the left. You will now be outside, and you can see below. Don't fall off just yet.Run into the next room, and a few guards will come in. Kill them all with your Uzi. Then move to your left, and kill the guard hiding behind the big pipe just forward. Move out the door to your left, and this here will be a big battle. Just move back abit so only the guy who pops around the corner can see you. Kill him first when he pops around the corner; get him before he shoots you. Then go out and shoot all of the guards you can see in this area. Make sure you get everyone here. Run into the room and ignore the turret. You are near the end of the level, so ammo shouldn't be a worry. Run into the next room, which is on your right. A few guards will likely pop around the corner. If they do, then kill them. Turn the corner to your right. There will be a few crates here, with enemies behind them. Shoot the guards when they pop up from the crates. Once they are dead, walk up and turn left and pound everyone in here with bullets. Just drench the area and kill everyone. Grab the things and two timesplitters will appear, kill them both and jump down to the ground. Ignore everyone and run to your left and around the corner and go into the red circle to complete the mission. PLANET X -------- MANSION ------- This is the hardest normal level in the whole game. What makes it hard? All of those zombies with shotguns. You will probably die allot of times on this mission. You get a shotgun to start off with, and this is the only weapon you get throughout the whole level. You can't get any other weapon to use (Apart from your fists.) You need to use the shotgun to your advantage. Run behind you as you start and grab the two lots of ammunition to put into your shotgun, it can hold a maximum of 100 bullets (2 in a clip, 98 spare) A few things can make this mission easier. One is to put the aim mode on toggle, so that when you press L2 once, it will come up with the crosshairs. You will need to use the L2 method when shooting off the zombie's heads, and so you don't get a sore finger, put it to toggle mode. The other thing is to set your viewpoint to reset back to normal. The reason for that is so that if you look up, and then move forward, it will reset your viewpoint back to the headshot range, which is what you want. Anyway, press the next weapon button to equip your shotgun, there will be a few zombies here straight away, and two will spawn. There are 4 zombies in here. Use the shotgun and move around and use the L2 method and shoot all of the zombie's heads off. If you don't get them off, then wait to they get back up, and try again. Make sure you don't lose any health in this starting part of the level; you need to save some health for the zombies with shotguns to take off. There isn't a health pack around for a while. Once all the zombies have had their head shot off, and then you can progress to the next stage in the level. The door will only open here when you kill all of the zombies. Two zombies will spawn. Shoot the one in the head just ahead of you, and shoot the one to your left in the head also. Make sure they are dead before moving on. Turn outside, and one guard will pop around the corner and shoot at you. Kill him before that shell hits your body. Then run out and look up and kill the guard up near the door that's blocked. Then run to your left and kill the guard who is throwing those bomb things at you that explode. He also has a shotgun, but only uses it when he is up close to someone. Steal all of the weapons. Now you have to go under the actual mansion, so you will be in like the basement, since they wont let you come in the front door to the mansion. When under, two zombies will appear. Try to lure them both back outside so you can get an easy headshot where there is allot of room to move around. When they are both headless, then turn to your left. Run forward abit, and then move back. Two guards will pop around and fire. Hide behind the wall and shoot one. Then when the other one pops out, shoot him them. Get one at a time, and make sure that you don't get hit by any of those shotgun shells. Do not run up and collect their ammo just yet. Turn left and shoot the zombie with shotgun. Here he will die even if it isn't a headshot. But, they are not all like that. Go up to where he was and look right. Quickly shoot the next zombie with a shotgun (not the one that is spawning). He dies first time as well. Collect his ammo, and then go back to the main hallway. You are safe from the zombies with shotguns for now. Run up abit and one zombie will spawn. Take your time and shoot the zombie's head off. Run up into the part with some shotgun ammo and stay here. Aim out using L2 and wait for the zombies to walk into the trap and then shoot their heads off. When they are dead, you can move into the next room. This room contains another zombie with a shotgun. Knock him down first, and then shoot him in the head when he gets back up. When he gets back up, he will not have the shotgun, so it is easier. A few more zombies will spawn in this section, but with no shotguns (thankfully.) Shoot their heads off with easy, and make sure that they actually die. I have had it happen to me a few times where I thought the zombie was dead, but then it came back up when I wasn't looking and punched the character. Ah well. You will see a staircase, but there is a zombie with a shotgun up there. Hide behind one of the pillars and try to shoot the guys legs. Make sure that he can't see you. Once he is dead, then move up the stairs. There are two guys here. One ahead of you, and one zombie with a shotgun. Kill the normal guy first, and then duck and shoot the zombie in the legs. Shoot him when he gets back up. If you need health, go up to where that guy was and just around the corner will be some, but two zombies will appear. Shoot their heads off and grab the first health, if you need it. Then return to where yo were and go right. Move up a little bit, but not farther than the start of the staircase on your left. A few zombies will come around the corner. Shoot them both. Don't worry about getting them in the head just yet, that can wait until they get back up, when they don't have the shotgun. Shoot the heads off both of them. Look left up the staircase and disarm the zombie of his shotgun. Wait to he gets back up and then shoot his head off. Walk up the stairs and look into the room on your right and kill the zombie. Grab the health and another zombie will appear. Kill him and then go back down the staircase. There will be mouses heads that shoot in the next room. Only a few shoot though, but we better get them all. Use the wall as cover and pick off one at a time. Just fire shotgun shells into them, and they will explode on the wall. A zombie with a shotgun will appear in the next room, disarm him and then shoot his head off. Run into this section and go to the right. A zombie will appear in the corner, kill it and then move to your left but stay back, this bit is dangerous. There are about 4 zombies with shotguns in this section. Disarm them first before anything else. 1 spawns to the left side, 2 come down the stairs and one comes from the right. Fire rapidly at all of these guys to disarm them first. That is your first priority. When they are disarmed, you can go around shooting the heads off all of the zombies. One zombie (without a shotgun) will appear to the right. Watch out that zombie can be very sneaky. Just go around popping off all of the zombie heads. There is some health on the lower section, you shall found it, and it's in a hard to explain position. But search around on the lower floor and you will see it. Then go upstairs and to the left. Walk forward and then go to the right and kill the zombie with a shotgun. Shoot his head off. You will now hear shots going off. From looking down the big hallway, turn into the room on your left and shoot the zombie without a shotgun in the head easily. Then move into the next room and kill the zombie with a shotgun. In this room, kill the zombies that are popping out and shooting at you. They don't know where you are now, so picking them off should be quite easy to do. Up the stairs and also to the right will be zombies here, so go out onto the main hallway away from the stairs and let the first zombie come to you and kill it. Then fire at the zombies coming down the stairs. Make sure you then fire and shoot their heads off before actually going up the stairs. There is health in the upper most right room on this lower floor. Get this health and then go upstairs. Go to the right, unless you liked being led into traps. Go around the corner; kill the zombie without a shotgun. Turn into the next attic area and fire to the right. There is a zombie in the darkness, and he has a shotgun. Collect the ammo and all the supplies here. Then run around the carpeted section, and kill the zombies with shotguns as they pop around the corner. Run all the way and try and get the thing you have to collect. Protecting it will be two zombies with shotguns. Quickly kill them, because two of them can take down your health very, very quickly. Then run all the way out. Find the stairs, run down them and get outside. Run to your left and you shall see the red circle on the ground. Sprint out all the way over to this red circle. Then, you have completed the mission. There is usually people firing at you, but you can usually just miss all of the bullets and easily get to the red circle without any trouble, the guys suck at shooting. Well done. You have just completed the hardest normal mission in the game. No you have to try and do it on hard mode, which is an even bigger challenge. DOCKS ----- From the start, you get another one of those stupid Sniper Rifles. Don't even bother about using it unless you like slow weapons and want to die quickly. Get out your pistol. Walk forward past eh crates that you start behind, and move to the right of this part. Shoot the guard just around the corner. Run up and turn the corner to your left, but get ready to move back so you don't get shot here. There will be a few guards around the corner ready for you, so be careful. When they pop out from the crates, then you should kill the soldiers. There are about three of them here, so kill them all and then run up and use them as barricades. Soldiers will shoot at you. Stay behind the crate and eliminate the few soldiers on the big towers first, before they sniper you. Just fire at their position. If you are close, then the auto aim method will kick in and the bullets will go straight for the enemy. When all in the tower are dead, pop up and shoot. There are allot of enemies around here, so just once again use the lock on mechanism. Just shoot near them, and the bullets will do the rest. Kill everyone. There is another tower with snipers in it, so lay down fire on that tower and try to kill people in it as well. Another guy will also be on the crates. Once all is quiet, then you can turn the corner, but only to find a turret. You can leave it and just glide past it losing only a little bit of health, or you can battle it and lose allot of health. Whichever way, turn the corner to your right and you will see a set of stairs straight in front of you. Go up these stairs and into some room with 2 storeys. Head up the next set of stairs that are on your right, and follow this path all the way along. Keep on going right to the end and a few soldiers pop out. Make sure you have got your assault rifle ready, and when the three soldiers pop out, just shoot it like made. You will likely lose some health here. When they are all dead, then go up. A few more soldiers will pop around the corner and one on the right will come around too. Kill them when they pop around. Grab the health and turn the corner. There will be two rooms here and allot of guards in each of them. Kill the guards in the room on the right first. Once they are dead, run in there and grab the armour. Then battle it out with the people in the next room. When they are dead, run in there and collect the stuff. Run back out and kill the Timesplitters as they appear. Run back to where you were when the soldiers popped out, run down the stairs. Allot of timesplitters will come. Just drench the whole area with Assault Rifle rounds. Give them no time to shoot you. Run back to where the stairs you came in from where and go down them. More timesplitters will appear, so kill them. Keep going along the road killing the enemies. Take the long road all the way around since crates are blocking off the short way. Follow it around, killing the enemies. You are nearly done. Either shoot the turret or just leave it and glide past it. Run all the way to the docks. Run to the red circle. It doesn't matter about anything here, just sprint for it. Go to the red circle and go over the top of it and you have completed the mission. SPACEWAYS --------- This level is surprisingly quite easy to finish on Normal mode. There are defently some easier levels than this, and definitely harder levels, but I still think that it is quite easy to complete this level on normal. You will straight away start off into a Warzone, so straight away press right and get out your sci-fi auto rifle. This will be the weapon you will use for most of the level. Run backwards and kill the guard who was lurking behind yo when you started, and grab his weapon. Then turn back and shoot to the left of the thing in the middle. The bullets should lock onto a guard that was standing by the entrance. One guard will come around the corner, from your right, so kill him and take his ammo. Run up over the tracks and another guard was blocking the entrance. Kill him, run up inside the room and two guards will appear and look like statues. Use the R1 alternative fire method and throw a bomb into them and you will kill them both, hopefully. If not, then just shoot them or go near them so they come alive. Then either runs to your left, or to your right. It really makes no difference, but out of a random pick, lets go to the left, but you can go right if you want. Now, one guard will roll out from the corner, shoot him before he shoots you and then turn the corner to the right. You will now be ain a really open area. Look to the left. There will be one guard they're hiding behind the seats. Kill him first by just shooting at him, or if he hides, use R1 alternative fire. Then look to your right. There will be three guards here most of the time alternative fire wont make it that far, so just keep on firing into the pack. Kill them all and then go up the ramp. One guard will spawn at the top; kill him while he is still spawning so he can't even shoot you. Go into the next room. Guards will appear in allot of places. Run up and open the door. Two guards will appear to the left and to the right of you and also three guards forward of you. Use the wall as cover from the three guards and shoot the two on the same room as you. Then pop out and fire at the two guys here make sure you kill them. Walk up, and turn to your right. One guy will spawn and turn into a statue. Use R1 and fire a bomb into him to kill him. He is really an alien. Turn back to the left, one guy will come around the corner, and roll out and shoot you. Quickly kill him. Then turn the corner, and you will be in a massive Warzone. There are 2 turrets here, and about 5 gauds. This equals total chaos. Shoot the two guards coolest to you first, but don't use R1 or you will kill yourself. Use R2, kill them and then fire an R1 bullet up the other end to get rid of the enemies up there. You now have a choice of destroying the turrets, or leaving them. I suggest leaving them. The total amount of time and health you would waste destroying them would be lots, and if you run past, then they only get about 1 shot on you and then you are gone. Whichever way, turn the corner to the right and there will be guards hiding behind the crates. It is best to use R1 alternative fire here, because they hide. Turn the corner to the left. Now, there will be another Warzone. Here, there are 4 guards (two hide and pop out at you) and also two turrets. This bit may be abit hard. Run up firing using R1 alternative fire so you can try to kill all of the enemies in nearly one shot of the R1 method. Ignore all of the turrets. Kill the guards when they pop around the corner, and then run to your left. Fire up at the turret using R1 if you want, this will kill the guard below as well. Run up the ramp, and to the top. Kill the two guards behind the desk using alternative fire and then do a U - Turn to the left and go up to the top of the ramp. Three aliens will spawn. Shoot them before they are properly spawned so they can't get s hot on you. Move into the room that is on your right and grab the goods. Turn back to where you came from, and then shoot the timesplitters and the aliens that are attacking you. Also some other enemies you missed might come up here. Run down that ramp and keep running forward up the ramp. When you reach the top, a few guards will pop out, one behind the desk, and one to the upper left of the desk. Kill them both. Nearly finished. Look out to your right and you will see a turret firing at you. If you have more than about 15% health left, then you should make this next bit. Ignore absolutely everything firing at you and then just run straight for the red circle. Sprint it there, and when you are over the top of the circle, you have completed the mission, and also normal mode if this was the last level. +---+-------------------------------------------------------------+---+ | 6 | HARD MODE | 6 | +---+-------------------------------------------------------------+---+ HARD MODE DIFFERENCES --------------------- • There are more enemies. Not in all of the levels, but a few mainly. One of them is the tomb; there is that sniper on the top and just A few more enemies around. • The enemies have better reactions. They actually turn around quicker and shoot quicker and things like that. • The enemies take more damage. I was playing the tomb level, and the Mauser pistol took ages yo kill one of these enemies, and I was losing health pretty rapidly. • The Tomb has been extended by about 4 rooms on hard mode to what it is on the normal mode. The ankh is now in the arcade part of the level. • The Timesplitters fire more quickly, and there is allot more of them and their accuracy has gone up alot. This can be alot of trouble in all of the levels. TOMB ---- 1935 Tomb (Hard) Walkthrough: As you start the Tomb, you realize you have no gun; this is solved quite easily however. Run to the right behind the patrolling guard and do him in with your fists. Grab his gun, and run into the shrine. Take out the lowly guard there, and grab the Tommy Gun ammo on the left, and the TNT on the right. Head out to the yard. One guard is positioned high above the entrance to the Tomb; use the Tommy to deal with him. Next are two guards on both your the left and right, and to easily dispose of them shoot the crates they are hiding behind. Grab their ammo and procede to the entrance of the Tomb. As you enter the Tomb, shoot the crates from the top of the ramp that is the entrance. If that does not kill the Fez guys, wait for them to come up looking for you and head back to the yard for a few easy kills. After killing the guards, do not pick up their ammo yet. Instead, turn to the immediate left to see a guard using the pillar as cover, jumping out periodically. Shoot him when he pops out, then go and grab their ammo and procede past the pillar. After you pass the pillar in the center of the room, a guard will roll right in front of him. Shoot him, and quickly run into the room where he rolled from, and then duck back into the room with the pillar. This will draw out the enemies in the hallway, effectivly making it much easier on you. After clearing the area, head into the hall, grab their ammo, and to the left. Shoot the guard across the hall, then take out your TNT. Use the wall on the left to bounce the TNT into the next room, and to clear the area of enemies. Grab thier ammo, and head up the ramp into the next room. Use the Tommy Gun to elimate the guards here, before entering the room. As you enter the room, a zombie may materialize, so manual target the head and blast it off. And a guard may still be around the corner to the right, so make sure to take him out first before the zombie, if he happens to be there. Make you way down the hall, and another guard will be playing duck and cover with you. Again, wait for him to jump out, and take him out. Also, another zombie will materialize in this hall; Use the same tactics as before. Now, there are three guards around the corner in the next room, and one will be throwing TNT at you. Use you own TNT by throwing it against the wall, and into the room. This way take a few tries, and if all else fails, just run in the room with the Tommy and finish any buisness left. Then, turn your attention to the left, and a enemy will roll out from around the corner. Shoot to kill, then head back in the room you just came from. Shoot the crate hiding a enemy, and enter the big room with the hole in the middle. To your right are two enemies, throwing TNT at you. Shoot the crates they hide behind, and grab thier ammo. Also a health is in this room, but do not take it if you have more than 80% health; we may want to save it for the trip back out the tomb. Do not jump through the hole in the floor; instead, return to the short corridor and down the ramp. Make your way down the subsequent ramps, eleminating all enemies and grabing as much ammo as possible, and enter the next big room. There are severall mummies wandering the premises, so use the manual aim to target their heads and blow them off. Also, where the Ankh was in easy, is a health power-up; if you need it take it, but again it would be ideal if we could save it for the trip out of the Tomb. After everything is finished in that room. The next part is straightfoward enough, so make your way through until you get to where the Ankh was on Normal; instead a coat of armor will be in it's place. Take it, and enter the next room. You will notice severall enemies using pillars in this big room as cover, but instead of going straight through the middle, we shall use a similar approach; As you enter the next room, head to the first left, and shoot guard there, as well as the other hiding behind the pillars. Again, stay on the left side for the next room, and do the same as before. Once the area is completly clear, go back and grab every bit of ammo. After you finish, follow the ramps down to the final room. Here, you will find quite a large number of baddies, so make sure to snipe them all with your Mauser Pistol. After the area is clear, head to the left and you will find a priestess hiding out. Shoot her, and after you grab the ammo, another will great you in the hall; end her career as well. Now, go up the nearest ramp, and you will see Timesplitters starting to appear before you grab the Ankh. Strafe and shoot them, and make your way to the small overhang just above the Ankh. Timesplitters will again come, so shoot them quickly. After you are finished with them, drop down and grab the Ankh. Fall of the pedistal where you just grabed the Ankh, and immediatly run back the way you came. As you make you way back out the Tomb, remember to strafe when shooting the Timesplitters, especially if in an open area. Oh, and watch out for the TS' at the tops of ramps, as they can become particularily tricky. If you have trouble dealing with them, lead them back into a larger area and take them out. Also, some health you may have saved earlier could be helpful. Once you get past the place where the Ankh was on easy, it should be siginificatly easier, as fewer and fewer Timesplitters appear. Take the Ankh back to the shrine and it's level complete. Whew! Ciao! Jesse Balzer CHINESE ------- 1970 Chinese HARD: When you start out the level, players begin with a Pistol, but this is easily fixable: Move to the left to find a Uzi. Now, equip that Uzi if it is not already, then move up the steps. You will see a guard on the partrol just in front of the alley you currently accupie; Shoot him, and after two more guards will come your way. Do them in the same way. Proceed out of this alley, turn to your left, and let loose on the enemy located out across the way; also, another one will jump out as you make your way up the steps. Make sure to grab all the ammo located here, and move out up the steps, turning first to your right to deal with the baddie. Subdue him, then turn your attention to the Waitors inside the building. Shoot both of them, and then enter the next logical area. After you enter this next room turn to the right and shoot the guard. Use the column as cover and do the same to the other. Grab the health if you need it; if not save it. Equip the Uzi or M16 and shoot as many guards out in the gardens as possible. When that is complete, take out your Shotgun (you will have picked one up in the last room you were in) and run into the gardens, shooting the guard located in on your immediate right. If you have not shot the guard playing duck-and-cover behind the fountain again on your right, take care of him and anyone else left over. Proceed. After you leave the gardens, a guard will be located right in front of you: Shoot him - what else ;) - and turn you attention to the right. A guard may be there, but some Waitor's are chucking grenades at your from affar, so they may have killed him; If not, you know what to do. Proceed through the opening and shoot everything; do watch out for the grenades though. And if you would like a safer, much more assured way of dealing with this threat, try using your M16 from the last area detailed in the paragraph above to snipe everyone; watch for the grenades, however. If they do become a problem, retreat back to the gardens until they detonate. Now that that mess is cleaned up, it's time to finally enter this Chinese Resturant. What we will want to do here is Strafe in front of the entrance and shoot as many people as possible. Once we reach the other side of the entrance, wait, and see if some guards chase you and if they do shoot them with you Shotgun, preferably. Continue down the left side, and Strafe in fron of the corner, looking for a enemy there; If he is in fact there shoot him, if not then go back to the entrance of the resturant, and finish off any Waitors around the facinity. Now, head behind the small counter were the Waitors were shooting behing, grab their ammo if so you desire, and crouch. Now look up, and shoot the next enemy in the feet. Exit, and turn around quickly to shoot Mr. Big up above. Run up the stairs, and a Chef will come running through the opening to the left. Shoot him and follow that same path. Another guard may come out from the next opening, so do him in if he does in fact come. After you enter the next big room, go to the left and collect all the ammo; In here you will find Uzi x2. It will equip attomatically, so keep it that way. Head down the next small stair set, and into the Bathroom. Pick up the health power-up, even if you have a larger bar of health; we will not be coming back here on the way from attaining the Gang's Files. Exit this bathroom, and head down the hallway to the left. Hug the wall to the left and shoot the first Mr. Big with your Uzi x2. Then, strafe into the building and knockdown the second Mr. Big in the same manner. Grab the armor, and Head back to the main staircase room. Now, instead of going left we want to go right, so do just that. Down the staircase you go and one or two Chinese Chef's will attack you. After you polish them off, enter the next area, and shoot the guard to your immediate left. Take the health in the bathroom - even if you have 80% of you life already, it will prove helpful - and enter the volatile kitchen. A good strategy here is to enter the room, and quickly dart back with the double Uzi's; The Chef's and Waitors (most of them, anyway) will fallow you back and you can rack up some easy kills. When finished, enter the kitchen to the left, take on anyone there, and empty the entire kitchen. Next, enter the door on the right end of the kitchen, and shoot the lone henchmen in the doorway. Now, draw the two guards at the bottom of those steps to you, and re- enter the kitchen to wait for them to follow, and bust em' up. Head down the stair case, and immediatly turn to the right and shoot the Turret here. Follow the path into the next room. Shoot one of the crates in this room; that should do most of the work for you, but if not, use you double Uzi's to eliminate anyone left. Work your way into the next room, eliminting all personel BEFORE picking up the Gang's Files. Oh, and before you do in fact pick up the goods, switch over to the Shotgun. Once you grab the files, expect an onslaught of Timesplitters. The best way to deal with this is to Strafe around as much as possible, and hope to shake up the Timesplitters. Once you make it back to the kitchen, find the door on the far-right side of the kitchen and press Activate. The door will open, and lead outside into the alley. Follow it all the way back to the start, and the rest of this trip back should be relativly simple, with little Timesplitters between. Good Work. Ciao! Jesse Balzer VILLAGE ------- When the level begins, you will see you are in an alley with an opening in the top-left corner straight ahead. We will want to strafe across this opening slowly, shooting all who you see. Once the area is clear move forward. Turn to the left, and a few baddies will waiting for you in the distance. Use either the Tommy Gun or the Shotgun (preferably the former) to rid yourself of them. You may also notice a few zombies in the windows here too; do the same for them, then move on. Head down the street, then turn around the next corner. This next street is troublesome, so be forewarned. You will notice some jumping out of the sides of buildings, and at the end of the street is a zombie with a shotgun, so be wary. Knock the gun out of his hand, and let him stumble after you, and when he is in range, shoot him in the head. On this street is the Swan Inn, which is marked by that pole with a swan sign. To the immediate right of this building is another zombie, hiding behind some crates. Shoot the crates from a safe distance, and head into the inn. You will notice a staircase to your right, so head down it. In here is a zombie, and we want to get rid of him for the way back out, so we have less enemies to deal with. When that is finished, go back out, and if you have low health, take the health here. If not, save it for the way back. Exit the Inn, and continue down the street. Bag any zombies around, and I do not suggest taking the staircase here, because there are plenty of zombies in the area, and you could be killed before you reach the health; so don't even bother. Procede until you reach the end of the street, where the cursed artifact used to be on easy. Shoot the barrels ahead to kill the enemies there, then turn to the left and shoot everyone. Head up to the health straight ahead, then turn and shoot the zombies hanging out the window. Go down the small staircase and onto the narrow cliff. Following this narrow passage, you may run across some zombies, so kill them, even if they are off in the distance. Continue until you reach the first alcove, and take it. Then take the next right. Run through all the zombies in this fairly straighfoward path, until you reach the artifact. Nab it and the wall will open in front of you. This is wear thing get kinda fast. Only shoot the zombies that get in your way, and get up the stairs as unscathed as possible. If you saved some health here, grab it. Out the door you go, through the streets back to the place you started, back in the alley. Make sure to strafe while you kill the Timesplitters and you'll do just fine. Mission complete, I do believe. +---+-------------------------------------------------------------+---+ | 7 | SPEED WALKTHROUGH | 7 | +---+-------------------------------------------------------------+---+ SPEED WALKTHROUGH ----------------- TOMB ---- The main thing here is to just keep on moving. To get the cheat here, you must try and jump down all of the holes in the floor to try and get the ankh. This will cut off a few seconds, but then you must return up the slopes and kill the enemies on the way. Remember the main tips not to shoot enemies that are out of the way, but one zombie will be blocking off the sloes, you need to shoot his head off. If you don't get it straight away, then keep shooting him while he is on the ground. It really helps if you get him straight away, so try and do that. Then just run like heel back to the start shooting the enemies on the way. Stop for nothing on the way, sprint all the way back to the circle. On hard mode, I heard a rumour that there is a secret exit, but I am yet to find this secret exit. CHINESE ------- This one is really easy also. Just blast through all of the enemies as they come to you. Try to NEVER stop running here, run and shoot if need be. The only time that you can afford to stop is probably in the kitchen area section where there are alot of enemies shoot nearly everyone before going into the basement. Get the goods and return back up to the kitchen and go to the door and open it by press X. Then run back into the tunnel section and you are done. Normal I don't think that you can open that door, and the same with hard mode. You need to go all the way back out the way you came, so out of the restaurant and all the way around by the river and go all the way back to the start, the long way. CYBERDEN -------- On easy mode, blast through everything, and when you get to the disc, grab it and hit the switch. Turn back and run to the right and jump down onto the ground. Run over to where the armour is ignoring everyone that you see. When you are near the armour, and then run forward and to the left. Run up to the stairs, shoot the guards under it and run up the stairs. Kill the guards at the top, run around the corner and drop down into the starting area and run to the circle. On normal mode, grab the disc and then jump down. Run past the section with the lighting, turn the corner and run straightforward to where those stairs were that you went up in the easy mode. Go up them around the corner, jump down into the starting area and go to the circle. VILLAGE ------- This is the easiest mission of all to get the timed secrets on. This is what I did for this mission: Just sprint it and ignore most enemies unless they are in your way on the road. Navigate around the orad shooting the enemies that are in your way, and ignoring everyone lese. Just keep on sprinting around and at the end of the jetty will be the goods that you have to get. There will be two guards here, grab the stuff and back-pedal and shoot the guards. Now just sprint it all the way back to where you started. On normal mode, when you get the goods, make sure that you kill the zombies using headshots first time. To save some ammo, use the R1 alternative fire, it is better in this situation. Zombies will come out, so shoot them all in the head. When you go upstairs, do the same and then run all the way back to the start of the level. CHEMICAL PLANT -------------- This one is quite difficult. From the start, shoot the guard up top while running out, pick the guy off to the right and strafe around the corner and kill the guard up high. Turn the corner and take the path under the stairs (easy mode only) and kill the guard under the stairs. Run up the stairs, kill the two guys who come down and at the top, turn into the room on your left. Ignore the turret on the wall as shooting in wastes time, and turn the next corners killing the guards. Grab the stuff, kill the timesplitters guarding the exit and jump down and get to the circle just near you. On normal mode you can't go up the stairs, instead run forward and into the room, killing the guards and up the stairs you go. Turn, shoot guards and run around the walkway, shooting the guard s they pop out and turn left. Kill guards, and run into room on the right past the turret. Kill guards buy the crate, collect goods and kill timesplitters guarding the exit. Jump down and go to the circle. PLANET X -------- This one is quite simple also. On easy, just kill everyone using the R1 method, this shouldn't be too hard, and if you shoot while on the run, then it is very easy because you don't have to stop for any enemies. Grab the bag from the second path on the right when you are in the section with the big slope going up, and then return down and go up the path near the health to the top. When you are doing normal or hard mode, then run to the left of the two sections near the end. Grab the bag and run back up and watch out for the enemies in the corner. Then just sprint it to the base. MANSION ------- Definitely a hard one. Try not to stop at the beginning of the level, ignore all of the zombies that you find. They are slow that they can't catch up with you anyway. When you are under the mansion, in the basement, eliminate the two zombies with shotguns and use headshots to only pick off the zombies that are in your way. Kill the ones that spawn, go upstairs and into the kitchen, quickly garb the health, and I means quickly! Ignore the moose heads, run into the last stand area, ignore all zombies apart from the ones with shotguns and run around the corner. Kill the zombie with shotguns only, quickly grab the health if you need it, look up the stairs and shoot the zombies with the shotguns. Run around the corners, garb the bag and go all the way outside and sprint it to where you have to go. Take some time if you need it, especially on the normal mode, because this is quite hard to do. DOCKS ----- This is quite easy on all of the difficulties. Shoot the first guard, run around the corner and only kill the guards going behind the crates, but make sure you are still running while you are doing it. Ignore the guards in the tower snipering; once you're at the crates, they can't get you. Run around the corner, up the stairs and all the way to the right and kill the guards popping around and in the room and grab the goods. Run back to the stairs, kill the timesplitters and follow the path around. Ignore any guards (and the turret on normal mode) and go around the path and all the way to the end of the docks and to the end of the level. SPACEWAYS --------- On normal mode, run straightforward and ignore the guards behind you. Kill the two guards and doge the fire from behind and the car also. Turn to the left or right, kill the guard and the guards on the left and right while still running. Kill the guard that spawns, run into the next section, use R1 and eliminate the guards. Turn the next corner, kill the spawned guard and turn the corner into the section with the turrets. Fire a few R1 bombs while moving forward. Ignore the turret fire and just run around the corner. Fire a few bombs into the crates; turn the corner and the next-door will open. There will be a few turrets. If you are quick enough, some of the enemies wont appear here for some reason. Ignore the turret fire, run to the left, go up the ramp and do a U - Turn to the left, go up and grab the good. Kill the enemies that spawn, and run back down the ramp. Kill guards here that you missed, and run up the next slope. Kill guards at the top; ignore all of the turret fire and run straight for the end of the level. +---+-------------------------------------------------------------+---+ | 8 | WEAPONS AND ITEMS | 8 | +---+-------------------------------------------------------------+---+ ITEMS ===== ARMOUR ------ This is the stuff that you pick up, which basically gives you some extra health. For some reason, I didn't lose health against the timesplitters when I had this on. HEALTH ------ You will need this throughout the game; sometimes you are shot and are near dying. Grab a health pack and it will give you some health back. Usually it gives you about 25% - 50% health back. WEAPONS ======= - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PISTOL Most pistols in Timesplitters can kill very quickly, and this is no exception. The pistol fires single bullets, usually very powerful when pounded into the enemy. This weapon is mostly found in the "present" time era, which are the levels such as: Chinese, Chemical Plant and lastly, the Docks. All of those three levels, you start off with this weapon. This is probably the worst pistol in the game to use, but it is still pretty good. If you want to fire the bullets really quickly, then instead of holding down the shoot button, continuously tap it really really fast and alot of bullets will come out, just like a machinegun handgun. This can come in duel capabilities, meaning you can get two of them to use at once, cool! This weapon is pretty good, but as I said, there are better pistols out there. MY RATING: 5/10 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - SCIFI HANDGUN This is the best handgun/Pistol in the game, for various reasons that I will mention below in this description. As the weapon suggests, it is for use in the future levels in the game, but the only story level I found where you get to use this weapon is the ever popular Cyberden level. The other two future levels use the Sci-fi Auto rifle, and not this cool weapon. The cool thing about this weapon is that it rapid fires. All pistols have a way of doing this, but the Sci-fi can do it easier than any other pistol. If you want to fire rapidly, hold down the fire button. It will continuously fire, like as if it is a machine gun. It does not come in duel capability. Another thing that I have noticed about the Sci-fi Handgun is that the bullets tend to ricochet alot of the time. This, I guess is good, but the bullets can often come back and hit you. MY RATING: 7/10 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - MAUSER PISTOL Hehe, I like the name to this weapon, it just sounds pretty cool. Better than "Pistol" and "Sci-fi Handgun." This weapon gets higher marks from me, because of the cool name of the weapon. Since the normal pistol is available in story mode for "present" levels, and the Sci-Fi Handgun is available for use in "Future" levels, then obviously this is available for use in the past levels of the game. This weapon is used twice in the game. The two story mode levels you use this weapon are the Tomb, and also the Village. The Mauser is a pretty powerful weapon, and the sound of the bullets when you fire makes it sound powerful. Two bullets in easy mode can kill someone. And yes, the Mauser pistol can come in duel capabilities. Most of the enemies in the first level have this weapon, so ammo for it is easy to find. MY RATING: 6/10 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - COLT PISTOL Hmm, this is all right pistol, but of course not the best. The honours of that go to the sci-fi handgun, of course. The Colt Pistol is actually an olden day weapon. It looks like the weapons that cowboys and people like that use, in the Wild West. This weapon is available for use in story mode, on the Tomb level. I'm not sure if you can get it on east mode in the Tomb, but I know for sure that you can get it on the normal mode. It sounds like real gun, but still alternative fire does nothing. But, a great thing about it is that it does come with duel capabilities. MY RATING: 6/10 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - M16 I like this weapon, for many, many reasons. The M16 is a pretty popular weapon, in most Playstation 2 shooting games (Playstation 1 also) there is something at least like an M16. I can name a few, some are: Syphon Filter Series, Fighting Force 2, GTA3, GTA:VC and alot of other games. So the M16 is pretty popular. Anyway, the M16 is a machinegun that can zoom in very far; in fact, it can zoom in more than any other machinegun or assault rifle weapon. The only other m/gun weapon with this much zooming in capability is the Assault Rifle. The M16 can come in duel capabilities, so twice the amount of killing power! This isn't the strongest machinegun in the game, but can still pack a serious punch. MY RATING: 7/10 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ASSAULT RIFLE The look of the Assault Rifle in Timesplitters doesn't look like the Assault Rifle that many other games have. Oh well, what can we do about it? I don't even think I have used this weapon once in the story mode. Well actually maybe only once in the Docks level, and I'm not even sure about that. One great thing about the Assault rifle is that it can zoom in very far, in fact farther than any other machinegun or Assault Rifle except for the famous M16. Both the M16 and this zoom in the same amount. The Assault Rifle has reasonable amount of damage and fires with alot of power. Certainly there are better weapons out there, due to this weapon doesn't have the duel capabilities. MY RATING: 7/10 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - MINIGUN This is a cool weapon. It is my favourite weapon out of every single one there is, and here I will explain why. Don't be fooled, the minigun is not so mini. It's quite large, and when duelled, it can take up alot of your screen. This weapon is available for use in the Story mode. The very last level of the game is where you will probably be using it the most, as you will need a big machinegun capable of rapid firing at the end of the game. This can kill quicker than most other machinegun weapons. Just hold down the fire button and anything in the way of those bullets will likely die instantly. A few bullets can kill someone. A great thing about this weapon is that it comes in duel capabilities. Twice the fun! This is what makes the weapon extremely good, and one of the best weapons in the game. MY RATING: 10/10 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TOMMY GUN Meh, I really do not like this weapon. The Tommy gun is available for you to use in mostly the "Past" era. The Tomb is where you will use it the most though, since the village level is just too easy to go through. The Tommy gun doesn't really seem to kill enemies really quickly. In fact, it can take ages to kill the enemy with those bullets. When you are just firing away at some poor person who wont live anyway, it can take awhile, and in that time, you can be hit. This can be quite dreadful especially in Story mode where you can't die, otherwise you fail the mission. Alternative fire actually does something different with this weapon; it makes the bullets go SLOWER! Yes, Slower! But it does have better accuracy, but is still real crap. MY RATING: 5/10 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - UZI I heard somewhere that the Uzi is not present in Timesplitters 2. If this is true, how could they leave out the good old Uzi, well known around the world, and used in alot of games. I think that the Uzi is an absolutely great weapon to use in any game, especially this. The Uzi isn't the best machinegun / assault rifle out there (that honour goes to the good old minigun) But it is still one of the best weapons to use. It has excellent fire rate, better than all of the other machineguns except for the Minigun, of course. The only problem with the bullets is that they do take longer than a few other weapons to kill the enemy, but with this fire rate, it will still kill very quickly. Alot of enemies have the weapon, so ammo is very easy to find. And, another great thing about the Uzi is that it comes in Duel capabilities. MY RATING: 8.5/10 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - SHOTGUN This is the weapon that you will most likely be using for the whole of the mansion level, to shoot off the zombie's heads. All shotguns fire one bullet, which then splits up into other little bullets, which then usually spread out, sometimes killing more than one person at a time. This is a pretty bad shotgun compared to the other two. It can only hold 2 bullets before you need to reload, and that can be a real pain when you are fighting off 100 zombies. It does have very accurate headshots, I got to give it that. But it still lacks behind, even though it has Duel capabilities, it is still just plain crap. MY RATING: 6.5/10 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ASSAULT SHOTGUN Best shotgun there is. This weapon reminds me of the Frenski in James Bond 007: Agent Under Fire, but this shotgun is better. The Assault Shotgun is mainly found in the Future levels in the game, but once again, I am pretty sure that you only use this weapon once in the whole game. This is very powerful than the other shotguns. First of all, it is rapid fire. Either hold down the fire button and it will fire about 1 bullet just less than every second, or continuously tap the fire button. I recommend the first way (Holding it down) since the second way will result in a sore finger, and it is only 0.00213563 seconds faster. Also, it can kill very quickly like any shotgun, and also can hold 8 bullets in its clip. MY RATING: 9/10 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - SNIPER RIFLE This is a very crap weapon. Timesplitters is not the sort of stealth game where you can kill someone without being detected and go through the whole level like that. Do, the sniper rifle is pretty crap for that reason. There is really no use for it in this game. But, the sniper rifle can zoom in very far; in fact, it can zoom in farther than any other weapon in the game. That's probably the best thing about it. If you shoot someone in the body with the sniper rifle, they do not die with one bullet. Most sniper rifles kill in one shot. Getting a headshot can be extremely difficult, and it just wastes time and you will probably be seen. It's better just to use you pistol and kill people before they get a chance to shoot you. It's much easier. The fire rate of the sniper rifle is bad also, but that's really nothing to complain about. MY RATING: 3/10 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - SCIFI SNIPER RIFLE Another absolutely useless weapon. It really serves no purpose at all. You only get to use this weapon in story mode once. The level you get to use this on is Planet X. It really serves no purpose, because you have a better weapon to use on the level, which is the sci-fi auto rifle. You will probably only use this in normal mode when there are a few snipers, but even the sci-fi auto rifle is better there. No sniper rifle is good in this game. It is slow at firing, but it does do better damage than the normal sniper rifle, I have to give it that. But otherwise this is a pretty crappy weapon and can't be used for much. Oh, it can also zoom in pretty far, in fact the same amount as the normal sniper rifle. MY RATING: 3.5/10 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - SCIFI AUTORIFLE This is seriously one of the best weapons in the game. Think about it, it can kill very quickly, does it with not many bullets, has an excellent fire rate and actually uses the alternative fire. This weapon is available for you to use on the future levels of the game. The two levels you can use it on are Planet X and Spaceways. In both of those levels, this is the best weapon you can find on it. The bullets look like they are futuristic too. The alternative fire actually does something on this weapon. Press the R1 button and it will take 10 bullets off and fire them so when it hits the ground, it will explode causing everyone around it to fly up in the air. This is very useful for when battling groups of enemies in Arcade mode or in the story mode. Overall, this is a great weapon to use. MY RATING: 9/10 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ROCKET LAUNCHER Oh Baby, I think that we all know what this is. It is a well-known weapon around the world. It is sometimes called an R.P.G (Not a role playing game, silly!) it actually stands for Rocket Propelled Grenade. But rocket launcher sounds better, I think. This weapon also has two alternative fire methods. The first fire method fires one plain, basic rocket. If you press R1, which is of course alternative fire if you are using the default controls. The Alternative fire, fires three rockets. This is best used for when you see alot of enemies. If you want to fire a rocket, then don't try to hit the enemy full on, try to hit the ground so the explosion will get the enemy, it's better than try to get them head on which you know will probably miss. MY RATING: 8/10 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - GRENADE LAUNCHER Another pretty cool weapon. I have not yet seen this weapon in any level of the story mode. It is not in there anywhere. Maybe the makers threw this weapon in the arcade mode for fun. Well done if they did, because this is a very cool weapon. The grenade launcher fires one single grenade and it hits the ground and then explodes, killing anything in the explosive range. This is better than the rocket launcher by just a bit, because the bullets go straight to the ground so you don't always have to aim down there if you want a quick kill. Alternative fire actually does something, it fires the grenade farther, and has a different set time limit on it. MY RATING: 8.5/10 +---+-------------------------------------------------------------+---+ | 9 | GAME TIPS AND TACTICS | 9 | +---+-------------------------------------------------------------+---+ HIDING This really isn't the stealth type of thing, but you can use the walls to hide, or as a barrier. This is particularly good when you have alot of enemies to kill. Take this for example: | |_______ | 1 | | | X = You | 2 | 1 = Guard |______ | 2 = Guard | ^ | | X | | | As you can see, you can only see guard one if your viewpoint was up. It's better to kill guard 1 first and then move out to guard two, instead of moving straight in and fire at both guard 1 and guard 2. BASIC KILL The best, and the easiest way to kill someone are to shoot him or her. Yeah, I thought we should start off with the most obvious tips yet. Every enemy on every stage is pretty weak, and take not long to die. If you come across an enemy, then just fire a few bullets into their body before they fire at you. QUICK PISTOL KILLS Did you know that there is a quick way that you can kill someone with a pistol? When you have the pistol equipped and come across an enemy, quickly tap the R2 button a few times, and it will shoot bullets out really, really fast. USING HEADSHOTS This is needed for the mansion mission and the last stand objective in the same level. If you want to use headshots, then first set the aim mode to toggle, and then reset viewpoint on. Then go around using the L2 button to aim at the zombie's heads, and fire and they will come off. BLIND SHOOTERS Sometimes, in the levels you will notice that the enemy's blind shoot over barriers, and crates. If the enemy does it over a crate, then fire at the crate. It will explode, killing the enemy. If he isn't behind a crate, just hide for a second and wait to he stops and then kill him. THE ROLL Sometimes computer players roll and dodge your bullets. This can sometimes be annoying for various reasons. If they try to do this to you, then just fire at the enemy while they are rolling. Just pound them with lots of ammo. BAGTAG TIPS In Bag Tag, the best thing to do (if you have bag carrier can shoot on) if you have the bag is to just run and hide somewhere with it, so that there is only one entrance to the part where you are. Then when the enemies come in, shoot them all. If you have it on bag Carrier can't shoot, well then you are probably going to die, but there are a few things you can do. Just run around like mad and punch any enemy if they really get in your way. Just run around, and you will probably end up dying. If one of your team members has the bag, then catch up with him and protect him from all of the enemies that you see. Just stick with him, and kill everyone. They just take the bag anywhere, so follow him everywhere. If the guy then dies, grab the bag. Also, one more tip for capture the bag, locating the bag can sometimes be hazardous. So, use your radar. The bag is the dot that flashes, so head towards the flashing dot and there will be some fighting on, so grab the bag when it is free. It might help you to kill all of the enemies by the bag before you get it. When you don't have the bag, no one shoots at you. So you shoot them. When you do get the bag, people shoot at you, but there will be no one around to shoot you. CAPTURE THE BAG TIPS Always find the closest team to you, and pick on them. Go straight for that team every single time. If the team is not there, then maybe try for another team. But always go for the team closest. Watch out though, they will be coming for yours also. Don't worry about defending your base. There really isn't any point; you could be out there stealing bags instead of defining your bag. It is boring, and it really doesn't matter if it is stolen, other teams bags have been stolen 1 million times before. Don't veer off when you have the bag. Just go straight back to your base. If you are using a double weapon (eg, pistol x2) you are only allowed to use one pistol when you get the bag, because you need one hand to carry the bag in. If you bag is stolen, and you feel like retrieving it, then shoot the carrier of the bag. When he is dead, he will leave the bag behind. Run over the bag and you will secure it. Make sure no one else grabs it while on the ground (unless they are your team.) DEATHMATCH TIPS The basic tip for death match is to kill everyone you see. When you find a person, just keep shooting into him and kill him. Just keep firing at everyone you see, killing them and you will rack up the points. Sometime enemies are distracted by one another, so then you can jump and kill them both for two quick kills. This si a great method, and works very well when you get a whole group like this. KNOCKOUT TIPS The bags appear in mostly the same spot all the time. So, make a big long journey all the way down to wherever the bags are, fund one and then bring it back to your base. If you see someone with a bag who is not on your team, then kill them, and they will drop the bag. Grab the bag and then take it back to yir base for an easy score. +----+-----------------------------------------------------------+----+ | 10 | ARCADE MODE | 10 | +----+-----------------------------------------------------------+----+ MATCHES ------- DEATHMATCH - Here you and the amount of selected bots take on each other in a deathmatch. All you have to do is use your weapons and kill the opposite team or kill anyone if there are no teams. You get a point if you kill someone, and the first player to reach a certain amount of kills is the winner of the match. Pretty simple to understand, and this is what most multiplayer games are like, but Timesplitters is better and gives you more bots and more levels and more games to play. BAGTAG - Here, you have to fight for the bag. Once again, this can either be done in teams, or you can play all on all. You must try and grab the bag, and hold onto it for as long as possible. Whoever has it the longest in the end becomes the winner. When you collect the bag, the timer starts for you. When you die, it stops. You must try and hold it for the longest period of time. CAPTURE THE BAG - Yeah, this is a rip off of the game called Capture the Flag, but I actually like capture the bag better than if it was a flag. I don't know why, it is just better. Anyway, there must be at least two teams playing in this game. All teams have a base where a bag is in the middle. You must protect this bag so it doesn't get stolen, but at the same time attack and get other teams bags and bring them back to your base, where you will score one point for your team. There can be 4 teams playing, so 4 bases. KNOCKOUT - Well, this has to be played in teams also. You can play it in up to 4 teams, red, blue, yellow and green. There are a few bags or different things hidden around the level you are playing at. You need to find these and bring them back to your base. There is no need for defending; all you should be doing is attacking. You must get it back to your circle for a point. You can kill other people on their journey back and steal what they have. LASTSTAND - Some of the last stands are pathetic, but still at least they put them in the game. Only a few certain levels have this game mode. What you have to do is protect yourself, or a certain base from dying. Different levels have different scenarios. Eg, Planet X and Warzone you use a mounted gun, Mansion you fight the Zombies off and Chemical plant you shoot with the sniper rifle. You must keep going, and for every enemy you kill you get 10 or so points. The higher the phase, the more points you get. ESCORT - One person in your team is being escorted around this place, and you must protect them so they can get to their location. They must not die, and their health meter is shown on screen so you can tell if the escrotee is being shot. Try to protect him/her at all costs. There are attackers who have to try and kill this escortee, and if that happens, it's mission failed. CUSTOMING --------- There are many things that you can do to make the game easier/harder for the players. Here are some things you can choose from. NUMBER OF KILLS - Here you can set how many kills you need to you win the game. You can set the numbered from about none to about 1 million kills, which you will never get through. When you reach the set amount of kills in the game, then you win. SCORE METHOD - The two choices here are Kills and Kills - Losses. Kills is when you kill someone, you get a point. Kills - Losses means if you kill someone, you get a point. If you die, you lose a point, and so does anyone else who dies. TIME LIMIT - Not really needed all the time, but you can set a certain amount of time that your match goes for. This applies in just about every mode, and the time limit can be big as well. TEAMPLAY - In all of the games, you can play as a team, with other bots on your team. If you select yes, this will happen. If you select no, then it's all on all. Certain games you have to be on teams, though. FRIENDLY FIRE DAMAGE - Friendly Fire damage means that if you fire a bazooka into someone on your own team, that member of your team will die if you select Friendly Fire damage on. If you put it off, then that person won't die. USE TEAM STARTS - Just what it says. Choose either yes or no. In all of the levels, there are certain starts where each of the bag bases is. Even though you don't play Capture the Bag, you start at this position. LEVEL TIPS ---------- TOMB ---- This is a very, very small level. In fact, this is the smallest arcade level in the game to play in. In case you haven't done hard mode, the level that you play in is the last room on hard mode. There is an upstairs section, and a downstairs with slopes going from either one. If you like intense action, then come here. Try and play a 10 bot death match in the smallest level. It is so cramped, that you don't have to go looking for enemies, they are all over the place in the Tomb. Bag Tag seems really stupid here. The reason is that there isn't much room to play on, you will just find yourself led into traps and all sorts of things like that. So Bag Tag is pretty bad in this level. Then we come to capture the bag. Because of the smallness in the Tomb, its not great fun playing it, unless you love tight spaces. The red and the blue bag are on the top floor, while the green and yellow bag is on the bottom floor. So if you are tram red, try and go for the blue bag. My favoured match here is the death match, because I have found that in Capture the Bag, the narrow spaces on the top floor, it is very hard to get through and get back to your own base. But, a good thing to do is to sniper from the top down to the bottom floor. The bots will be too busy trying to kill each other that you can fire a few bullets at the bots. Only do this in death match though, since there really isn't much point in captures the bag since it is a real time waster. If you are team blue, go for reds bag. So, the Tomb isn't really a multiplayer delight, but still can be fun when you are all crammed into the one little area. There seems to be alot of health left around in the side passages off the main section of the level. You can also camp in here and shoot out, as alot of the time enemies just walk past you. CHINESE ------- This is one of my favourite levels in the game to play in. It uses all of the Chinese level from Easy, Normal and Hard mode. The only difference to the level is that it has every door in the joint open. The two doors that open are the ones that lead into the kitchen. This makes it so that you can get outside really quickly if you really want to get out there. Death match is cool in the Chinese. The level is so big that you might need to hunt down your people to kill them. When using heavy weapons in this level, such as the rocket launcher or the grenade launcher or any mines, try to go outside and use them. The Chinese has alot of hallways that aren't suitable for these kinds of weapons, and the enemies appear outside so it's better to go out there than to kill yourself alot. Unless you have only kills on, then it will be a different story. Capture the bag here is quite good also. The Red bag is located all the way down where you get the goods from Easy, Normal and Hard mode. It's in kind of like a storage section with shelves and all around it. The blue bag is located where the only armour is in the story mode level. The green bag is located and the story mode entrance to the level. The green base is located in a room just around the corner from the yellow, with the statue and the river just before or after it. If you are the Blue team, definitely try and go for the green teams bag. They are the easiest, and the closest team from where the blue base is. If you decide to be the red team, then you can experiment with what coloured team you want to steal from, because they are all pretty far away and your base is way far away. If you are green, I suggest going for the yellow teams bag, they are just around the corner, near the river. If the bag isn't there, try and picking on the blue team and get their bag. The green team is the hardest team to defend on. Enemies can come from 3 different ways, and with something like blue, then there is only one way, which is really easy to defend. CYBERDEN -------- This is a good multiplayer level, due to the real big size of the level. But, that can also be a bad thing, because you have to go looking for ages to find an enemy. If you do decide to do a Death match on this level, definitely put the number of people playing to the maximum amount, unless you like one on one matches or just small number of competitors. The cyberden can act like a maze, but once you have done the story mode, you should know where about everything is in the level, and all the pathways to get there. Bag Tag isn't really a great option to choose from in this level also, because of the size, it will be too hard to locate the bag. Just one more thing about the layout, the three doors that close in easy, normal and hard mode are all open for easy access all around the level. Capture the Bag is a good enough choice, and all of the bags are spread out all over the level. The Red bag really isn't the best place to be if you are defending, because there are two ways that the enemy can get into your base. But you should be able to pick them off straight away. The Blue bag also has two ways you can get in, and like the red base it is really open. The green and the yellow bases are good places, because they are really open and there is usually only one way that you can get into the base, so one person can sit there picking them off as they come through the entrance to the base. Try using the rocket launchers in this level. There is alot of long hallways, and narrow ones also you will definitely kill yourself a few times. Well, that's really about all I have to say about this level, now it's onto the village. VILLAGE ------- There are actually alot of good matches here; well that's what I think anyway. Death match, Bag Tag and Capture the bag are all pretty cool matches in the village. I never mention knockout, because, well, I really don't like playing knockout, I would rather play capture the bag, which is better. Anyway, death match is good because there are alot of hiding spots between the buildings so you can jump and fire away at your enemy. Watch out though, people can do the same to you. The village level is quite big, but not as big as a few other multiplayer story levels, such as: Cyberden, Planet X, Mansion and the Docks. The level is pretty big. The red base is good to defend on this level, because there is only one way in, and it's on the road. This is a defenders delight to just aim near the corner and pick off someone as they come along. The tram that will likely never get their bag stolen is the blue team, because they are really out the way from all of the other teams. This can be good, and it can also be bad because you need to travel farther than the other teams to try and get the bags and then bring them back takes awhile also. Both the Green and the Yellow teams you need to go down steps and get into. If you were the red team, then probably the green team would be the easiest team to steal off of. The Village is a pretty good level for Bag Tag also. Because of the main path, there will be enemies in front and enemies behind you, which do make it quite hard. There are a few hiding spots as I mentioned before. Now it's onto the chemical plant. CHEMICAL PLANT -------------- This is my favourite level for playing multiplayer in. It is really good for alot of reasons, and all the matches are really real good in this level. Out of the three (Capture the bag, Death match and Bag Tag) probably Bag Tag is the worst, but yet it is still quite fun to play. The best thing to do in this level is act like a sniper. There are alot of walkways around the place, and nothing has been taken out from story mode, at least on easy (On normal there are crates, but there isn't now, they have unblocked it for easier access.) Anyway, you can sniper down on the enemies that are on the ground. This is really fun to do, but often when you are looking down, enemies can come up behind you and shoot and kill you and you didn't even know that they were there. There are alot of good hiding spots in the game also. Here are a few: Where you start in story mode is a great place, and where the yellow bag is in Capture the bag. Enemies come around the corner, and also above you and you can just fire and kill them when they do come around the corner. I always get alot of kills just rapid firing at the enemy before he even has a chance. Another great spot is under the stairs. Your friend or whatever can't even see you because of the darkness under there, so when they come around the corner, kills them. Also enemies come through here as well, and it's narrow, so explosions can do quite well there. I think either the green or the yellow teams are the easiest to defend on, because once again enemies only come in from the one way. But because both of these bag bases are on the ground, the attract alot of attention from the other teams, and these two bases will get picked on the most in capture the bag. I still like being the red team, just because it is up high and you have to go out your way to actually steal from here. PLANET X -------- This level here is probably the biggest level in arcade mode. The only level that even comes close is the Mansion, but I think that the mansion may be a little being smaller. I'm not really sure about that actually, but still Planet X is a really big level. It uses all of the Easy, Normal and Hard mode places, except for one door is now open. The level is absolutely huge, and is free roaming. Death match is really good here, especially with a large amount of competitors, otherwise you will be walking around trying to find the enemy otherwise. The main battle part will be where you jump down to start the level in normal mode. Bag Tag is abit stupid in this level, because of how big the level is, but if you like holding onto the bag forever, then this is your game. In Capture the bag, the bases are spread out widely. The Red base is definitely the best base to use. It is close to another teams base (Which I can get to and get back in less than about 30 seconds), and is really easy to defend. There is a window near the red base, so you can pop up and look through the window and fire at any enemies coming over that part. Sometimes they can shoot you while you have your back to the window, but you can just duck if that does happen. The Blue base has a nice little look down at the ground, so the blue team can sniper people below all they want. The green team is located under the stairs, near where you get the goods in normal mode, and I have absolutely no idea where the green team are located. Because the level is very big, it means it is a good multiplayer level. There is also Last Stand mode, we shouldn't forget that. You use a mounted machine gun and need to get rid of the enemies that are shooting those crystal things. Just get on the mounted machinegun by pressing the X button, unless you have changed the activate action to something else. Just shoot all of the enemies that you see, and use your radar to see where the enemies are. MANSION ------- This, like Planet X is another huge level. It is the whole easy, normal and hard level, just with all of the doors open so it can loop around and not feel like a big maze. When I first played this level in arcade mode, I couldn't find my way around because it felt like a maze. But, when I did normal story mode, and couldn't win, it thought be the level layout, so now I am really good at the level. Death match is pretty good here, and because the whole level loops around and isn't just one way, Bag Tag is a great choice here as well, especially if you go outside. Capture the Bag is okay as well, but death match will take the honours here. Make sure you play with all 10 bots here; otherwise it will fell like you can't see anyone. You can play with two if you want that scary feeling that someone is in the house with you. Another good thing to make this level look really good, play with the Zombies, Mummies, Cyborgs and the Mutants to give it a good effect. In capture the bag, the best base to be is the red base, or maybe the blue base, Everyone's bag is really open and can be taken easily. The red bag is out where you end the mission on easy and normal mode. You can get up on the top where the enemies are sitting on story mode and shoot people as they come through the doorways. The Blue base is okay to be as well, because hardly anyone goes through the basement area, most people will come through the kitchen area. Green and yellows base are inside the mansion. Green is located in the top of the mansion, in the roof section. There bag is somewhere in the middle, and very easy to grab. The yellow bag is in the house, and is also very easy to grab. It is just near the blue bases, so those two teams pick on each other. So, in conclusion, the mansion is a great multiplayer level. Because it uses all of the level, there is alot of stuff to explore in, and it has all of the doors open for you to go through, a very great level indeed. DOCKS ----- I really don't like this level. Capture the Bag just seems crap here, and death match doesn't seem good either. I think Bag Tag is pretty cool here though. Bag Tag is good because there is a very big outside level section. You can run around outside all that you want, but inside seems to crammed with enemies when doing a death match. Because of the freedom, Bag Tag is also great and there are a few places that you can hide, but they are very easy to come across by the enemy. The Capture the bag bases are spread out alot, that's good, I guess. This level does use nearly all of the story mode level. A few crates block off the beginning story mode part, so you can't get past, but there is nothing there anyway, so it really doesn't matter. The Blue base is located at where you find the item in Story mode. It isn't actually right where the item is, but it si very close near it. This is the easiest base to defend because people can only come up the stairs and you can shoot them then. You can even hide and wait to they get close and then kill them. The red base is located near a whole bunch of crates, in between the green base and the blue base. It isn't that easy to defend, as enemies can come from alot of different places. The place where the green bag is where you finish story mode in easy, normal and the hard mode. It is quite easy to defend and all. The yellow base is located near where you start the level in story mode, near those sniper towers and behind some crates, which makes the base hidden. Well, that's about all for the docks. Oh wait; there is an Escort mode. You have to escort someone around the place. Just try and stay near the escorted at all times, and let no one else get near them. There will be a turret on the wall also, so make sure that you destroy that before it kills the escortee. Don't worry about what your team is doing, just stay near the escortee and shoot any blue person that come along and tries to attack the escortee. AWARDS ------ I decided to write down the awards that you get for Arcade, and then released there were two other great FAQs explaining how to get the awards. I will give you links to these other great FAQ's that show the awards, but I will still list what little I had done: WHERES THE HEALTH? - To get this award, you must just miss the health. I have got this Award two ways, one by just walking near it, but not going over It, and another time my friend stole the health just before me. BRAIN SURGEON - This one is quite easy to get. Go around with whatever weapons you Have (preferably something like a pistol, and not a shotgun) and go Around shooting people in the head only. You must try to get a good Head shot percentage as well as shoot alot of people in the head. BACKPEDDLER - Another quite easy one to get. Just move backwards when you are Firing. This is best done with a grenade launcher because you will Have to move back to avoid damage from your own grenade, likely. MOST EFFECTIVE - Just go around and shoot everything. I got this award by just going Around and shooting people and being the winner by a very long Number, everyone else was pathetic while I was getting all the kills. MANIAC - I get this one all the time; I guess it describes me well. To get This, kill people with way too much ammunition. That's what I do, Especially if you do have unlimited ammo on. DECAPITATOR - Just go around and punch heads off. Make sure you have the zombies And the mummies playing, because that is the only kind of bots that The heads do come off of. Kind of an easy award to get, but remember You must play with zombies. RICHOET KING - Just try and bounce the bullets off of walls and kill people. I even Killed myself alot of the times using richoet, and it counted as my Award. The sci-fi handgun is the main weapon that bounces off the Walls alot. OUTGUNNED - Be Un-Equipped and have just about no weapons. Try not to pick any Weapons up, either, or you will just lose this award. Because you managed to complete the mansion level to even get the Challenge mode, then you will now how to do some headshots. You have to shoot off 50 zombie heads in about 2 minutes, or in second's time, 120. To do headshots correctly, first of all go to controls and put aim mode on Toggle, so when you press L2, it will come up with the crosshairs so you don't have to hold it down. This is perfect headshot range. Just go around with this headshot method, and blast the heads off of the zombies. Rapid fire at their heads, and sometimes when you are in groups, it can kill more than one head off. Try not to die, because it can take off a few seconds in the long run, but if you do, try to respawn really quickly and then get back to your killing ways and shooting off all of the heads of the zombies. Getting 50 can be hard if this is the first challenge you have done in the challenge mode, but as they say "Practise makes perfect." This is probably the easiest challenge out of the 3 challenges that you get to start with. If my math is correct, then you need to shoot off a head of a rate of 1 in every 2.4 seconds. Good luck. CHALLENGE 1-B: PUTRID PUNCHOUT ============================== Now it becomes abit harder. You must now knock the block off of 30 zombies inside the set time limit for you. This challenge can be quite difficult for alot of people, but if you found the last challenge really easy, then you should breeze through this. If not, well then you are stuffed. The best thing to do here is just to swing your fists like mad. So, just hold down the R2 or R1 button, and the character will just swing like mad. Keep doing this, and in packs in will certainly kill a few people. If you see a bot on it's own, run up to it and swing your fists at it and get the right timing so that it will knock the enemies block off. You need to get a score of 30 zombies inside of one minute. So, you are roughly looking for about a head of a zombie knocked off in every 2 seconds. So a rate of 1 head every 2 seconds. I have done this challenge, but with only 1 and a half seconds spare. Try to get 15 kills in 30 seconds, and ration out your time with your kills. CHALLENGE 1-C: DUSK OF THE DEAD =============================== This challenge is quite hard. It took me awhile to do this challenge, so it must be quite hard. There are a few things to make it easier though. One of them is to go to controls and put aim mode in toggle, so when you press L2 once, it will put the crosshairs up. Also put reset viewpoint on, because of the easy headshot range. Zombies come down in different phases and try to kill you. The phases just keep on going and going and going, until you eventually die. Phase one consists of about 10 zombies, phase 2 about 15 - 20 and phase three contains about 25, maybe even abit more. The higher the phase, the more zombies. You should see phase 7. The bad thing is, you need to shoot all of these zombies in the head for them to die. If you shoot them in the body, they just fall over, and you can't get past them. So, shoot their heads off. Luckily the zombies don't have weapons. If you miss one of the zombie's heads, then fire again while they are falling down or while they are on the ground. You can still shoot them off like that. This is what I do for this challenge: I stay up the top for the first part of every phase. But, as every phase begins, before the zombies come, go downstairs and grab yourself some shotgun ammo. You will need it for battling the zombies. Return to the top and zombies will come from either direction. Shoot the heads off of them using the L2 method I said about. Stay up in this top section, until you think all enemies that come from the top are disposed of. Sometimes enemies come up the stairs, so just watch out about that. Now you can either pick the zombies heads off from below, which wastes ammo but keeps you in tact, or you can run down stairs, use the stairs as a barrier (They just run into them) and fire away at their heads and pick them off. I just usually run down, pick a few heads off, and then swerve around them, go to the ammo and pick some more heads off and then swerve in and out of them firing. If things get too tough, then you might want to go upstairs. There is absolutely no health packs in the level, and you get absolutely no health bonuses for completing different phases. The biggest phase I have got up to is phase 7, and there was no health to be found, and no health bonuses. Sometimes the zombies tend to fall over themselves and then quickly get back up. This is a trick so that you can't get a proper headshot on them. If they do this, then there is really nothing you can do about it. You will just have to wait to they get back up and fire again at there heads, and hopefully kill them this time. You will need to score over 10,000 points to complete this challenge. You get 10 points for shooting off a zombie head. But, of course the game isn't that hard, and gives you point bonuses for completing each phase. The quicker you complete a phase, and also the harder the phase is, the more points you get. There is no time limit that you have to do it in, so you don't really have to rush. CHALLENGE 3-A: TIN MAN TRIAL ============================ This challenge is really easy to complete. When I first played it, I thought that it was really hard and had trouble completing it. But then I realised that I was doing something major wrong. "If only I had a brain," all of the robots are thinking. You must try and get that brain in a bag and keep hold of it for about 1 whole minute, and also win the match of Bag Tag. If you are crap at Bag Tag, then practise on some levels. Learn how to use your radar, and hold people off. The main key to knowing where the bag is to look at the radar. The flashing dot is where the bag is located in the level. Find the bag, and take hold of it. Hold all of the enemies off and go and hide somewhere while battling. Try to camp somewhere where there is only one way in, so that you only have to battle people coming in one way. There are a few weapons available for use. They are: The Rocket Launcher, Sci-fi Handgun, Sci-fi Auto rifle and the Ray gun Carbine. If the bag is in a group of people, use the rocket launcher to kill them all. Otherwise, if you get the bag and other people are around you, then you will likely be killed instantly. If you haven't got the bag, then the enemies wont even bother shooting you. Take advantage of this by killing enemies just before you grab the bag. Then, if you cleared all the enemies, take the bag and no one will be around to kill you, although they do spawn really quickly. If you die, you respawn with no weapon. So, you need to find one. You can go out of your way to find a weapon like the sci-fi handgun, but if worst comes to worst, just punch someone out for a weapon. They will die, and you will have their weapon. Also, when the player with the bag dies, he leaves behind the bag and also some ammo, so you grab that weapon, and also a bonus; the bag. CHALLENGE 3-B: LOBSTER RUN ========================== I found this challenge very easy to do. It is very simple, and only involves some skill in the art of playing the game "Knockout." Robofishes friends are being cooked by the chefs and served by the waiters in the village. You must protect these lobsters and bring them back to your base. You need to try and grab 15 lobsters in the set amount of time the challenge gives you. When you spawn, you do not have a weapon. Because you always spawn at your (red) base, there are two weapons on the left, and on the right of the base. Collect these weapons. You can either go all the way down to the pier and bring one back to your base, or kill someone and steal there lobster. There are two down at the pier, but often the chefs and people take them. Go down there, grab one and take it all the way back to your base. The second way was to kill one of the people carrying these lobsters. There are a few bases around, so you can easily trap one of the enemies and kill them when they are near their base and then steal their lobster and take it back to your base. Whichever way you do it, just try and grab 15 lobsters. CHALLENGE 3-C: BOWL THEM OVER ============================= Oh, this one can be very hard. But when I finally did do this challenge, I done it very easy. For example, I still had awhile to go and I already had shot off 40 heads. I ended up finishing with 46 heads shot off, which is my current record, although I haven't tried again since I completed it. This challenge is set in the castle. This level always seems like a big maze, but it's really no problem. What you have to do in this challenge is to shoot off the heads of 40 enemies in a set amount of time. These enemies have challenged you to a match, because they think that Robofish's head is weak or something. The main weapon you should use for blowing off the heaps is the colt pistol. They are the only real decent, easy to find double weapon in this level. Because you are doing headshots, make sure you put Aim Mode on as Toggle, and also put the reset viewpoint on because the crosshair range when on is set at exactly head. As soon as you start, go looking for a weapon. Try to run and find a weapon. If you encounter an enemy on the way, then just try to punch his block off and steal his weapon. There you go, you now have a weapon. Make sure it is good though. Try to find a narrow corridor or something, camp in there, and when people come around the corner, fire at their heads. Sometimes they come around in groups of 4, so then shoot off 4 heads all pretty simply. Make sure that you are on the same ground as them, otherwise you will need to move your aim up and down to headshot range, which will be hard since they are shooting at you. Try to get the enemies in groups and then shoot their heads off. 40 can be hard to get, so try to ration out your time. You get 5 minutes to do this challenge in, so you are averaging about 20 heads every 2 minutes and 30 seconds. That is roughly about one head every 8 seconds you need to get, which when you think about it isn't that hard. CHALLENGE 4-A: SHAME IF SOMETHING GOT BROKEN ============================================ This is, really an easy challenge. The problem for me was that I was missing one bit of glass. You need to destroy every single bit of glass in the Site, and then you have completed the challenge. But, if you only leave one little pane or marble bit left when the time runs out, you need to do the whole level again. There are about 74 bits total in the level to destroy. For this challenge, you get to use the Minigun times 2. We all know that the Minigun is one of the best weapons in the game, in fact, probably the best machinegun in the game. In this challenge, it comes duplicated, and you get unlimited ammo for the Minigun also, extra bonus! Now, onto the smashing. There are 4 glass windows behind you when you start. So, from the start turn around and shoot the window that is up high, and then the window, which is just in front of your face. Then move to the right and look up and shoot the glass window that you can see up there. Then return to the lower glass window that you destroyed. Look through the window and fire through it and destroy the 4th bit of glass. Turn back to where the office is and destroy the window to the front of you, and then go to the right or left of the building and shoot through the window, and shoot both of the glass windows here. There are 3 windows in this little office area, and the rest of the glass is located on that big wall. Go to where the big wall is, and just fire at all the glass and smash it all up. Just keep firing. The parts with the X on it are also glass panels, fire and hit them. Just keep R2 held down and fire at every bit of glass, window and marble you see. Sometimes the marble is small and you can't see it. If you look hard enough, you will see every single bit. Some marble is on the wall to your left. CHALLENGE 4-B: DON'T WAIT AROUND ================================ This challenge is really, really easy compared to the next challenge. The restaurant for Chinese is closed due to refurbishment, and they have to get rid of every glass panel in the restaurant. Destroy every single bit of glass panel, and also shoot all of the plates while you are at it. You get to use a M16 in this challenge. Just a few bullets from them will break the window or plate or panel or whatever other things you need to smash. There are alot of glass things that you need to smash in this level, but they are in big groups of each other, so you don't really need to go searching for just a few panes of glass. From the start of the level, aim up and shoot the big glass window and then shoot the little two on the left and on the right. Then move up into the room and go up the top of the stairs. Look up around the room, and you will see alot of windows around the top of the room. Shoot all of these. Some are above you so you might need to move down the stairs again and shoot them from down here. Make sure you shoot every single window here. There is some glass pains surrounding you now, they are the Chinese looking patterns on you, and nearly below you. Destroy them all. From looking up the stairs, head to your left. Lets clear out this room first. Shoot the barrier things first; there are 2 panels on each of them. There are also a few to the left of you as you come into this area. Shoot all of the windows out ahead of you. There are some up high, and the ones down low toward the ground. Just go along with your M16 and fire away at all of the glass you can see. Make sure you get every single window of glass. Then leave the room and go into the room that you haven't been into yet. Shoot the glass panels on the barrier things stopping you from going over the edge, and then aim up at the windows and fire. Continue to fire at them with your M16, and just go along shooting, getting all of the glass panes. Make sure they are all clear, and then head down into the kitchen. NOTE: Before going down into the kitchen, make sure that you have only Got 47 things to smash, because that is how many are left in the Kitchen section. So where it says Glass Left, make sure that that number is on 47 before going down into the kitchen section. If it isn't on that number, go back and look for a few glass panes that hasn't been smashed up yet. There are five sets of shelves with plates on them here. Go around shooting them all. Just fire at one set of shelves high to low and destroy all of the plates on the one set of shelves. Then move along to the next set, wiping out all of the plates as you go along. Just hold down the R2 button and continue to pound the plates with the bullets. Destory every plate down here before the time runs out, and you are done. CHALLENGE 4-C: BRICK FLUNG HIGH =============================== This is, the hardest challenge to complete in the first set of 5 challenges. It is really, really hard to get all of the glass panels in the just over 5 minutes in the game. There are alot of easier challenge sets out there than this mission. If you can do this about 1st or second or maybe third shot, then you are quite good with the brick. Okay, in this challenge, you get to use the brick for the very first time in the game. Lets get acquainted with it first. It has two modes of fire, the normal fire (Fires it along the ground, nearly) and the alternative fire (Fires it all the way up in the air.) The one that you will need to use the most is the alternative fire. I'm just going to copy and paste the method for the above challenge, but where it says M16, change it to brick. Where is says shoot, change it to throw. Use the alternative fire for the ones up very high. Also, you don't need to worry about ammo, it gives you unlimited. From the start of the level, aim up and shoot the big glass window and then shoot the little two on the left and on the right. Then move up into the room and go up the top of the stairs. Look up around the room, and you will see alot of windows around the top of the room. Shoot all of these. Some are above you so you might need to move down the stairs again and shoot them from down here. Make sure you shoot every single window here. There is some glass pains surrounding you now, they are the Chinese looking patterns on you, and nearly below you. Destroy them all. From looking up the stairs, head to your left. Just fire at one set of shelves high to low and destroy all of the plates on the one set of shelves. Then move along to the next set, wiping out all of the plates as you go along. Just hold down the R2 button and continue to pound the plates with the bullets. Destroy every plate down here before the time runs out, and you are done. CHALLENGE 5-A: FIRST IMPRESSIONS ================================ This, in my opinion, is the easiest challenge in the challenge mode. It is so simple to complete, that nearly anyone can do it. I did this challenge the first time, and with a very long time left on the clock. That's now simple it is. If I can do a challenge that quick, then the challenge must be really really simple. You have to show this impersonator person *cough*Elvis*cough* that you are made of really big stuff. For this mission, you get to use Mary Beth. She is the only playable character for these 3 challenges. Elvis wants to win in a death match, and you must help him win with a t least a score of 10 kills. You play this level at the compound, and if you haven't won this level in story mode yet, then this is a good way to just practise the level. Getting the 10 kills you need to win is very simple. Just walk around the compound with your weapon out, and when you see an enemy, just kill it. Don't worry about Elvis, he will go his own way, and usually does not die. Just go around yourself. You can get all the kills yourself; it does not matter at all. Scoring ten is easy, so do it. CHALLENGE 5-B: LASTING IMPRESSIONS ================================== This is another really easy challenge. This set of challenge is definitely the easiest set of challenges in the game. They are all done so easily (except for the 3rd one, which is base on luck.) This challenge is set in the Tomb, you know, the first level of the game, except that it is the arcade type level. You once again don't start off with a weapon and you have to find one for yourself. Where you start there will always be a weapon for you to get. Grab the weapon. From your base, head down the left on the top storey and then right. Alot of guards will come, kill them all and then run to where they all came from. You will see the team base where all of the enemies spawn. Stay here shooting the enemies, and when they spawn, just shoot the enemies again and keep on killing them as they come out. Don't worry about the Impersonator, he will go on his own way killing people as he goes along. So, you need to get the majority of the kills, otherwise time will run out. Make sure you use the trick that I mentioned above. What you have to do is get the 25 kills in about 1 minute and 15 seconds. This is the rate you need to score at: 1 kill in every 4.5 seconds. This may seem abit hard, but it is really quite easy. Anyway, once you are done, it's onto the next challenge. CHALLENGE 5-C: WHO'S HE TRYING TO IMPRESS? ========================================== This is really a silly level. Sometimes you can win, and other times the impersonator just does nothing but kills very slowly. What you have to do here is to score 25 kills. Yeah, it seems really easy, now doesn't it? But, here is the catch that you will not like. Elvis has to score all but three of the kills. This is really a stupid challenge. Just sit somewhere and let Elvis do all of the kills. You can just sit there doing nothing for 3/4 of the level, and Elvis will get all of the kills that you need, and then you can get the rest. But, other times when you do that, sometimes the impersonator doesn't get the amount of kills needed. There are a few weapons available for you to use in this challenge. Pick which one you want, and keep it for your three kills. Make sure that you only kill 3 people, and try to use your kills near the end so you can use them to get you over the line instead of using them at the start and letting the impersonator do the kills. CHALLENGE 6-A: BARREL BLAST =========================== This challenge can be quite hard to do, since one barrel missing can cost you complete failure. It's abit hard to mention all of the barrels that are on the level. Just look around yourself, find them, and then blast them. I will list a few of the secret barrels that you might not know about, or are out of the way abit later on in the challenge description. You are a SWAT member, and must blast away all of the 47 barrels within the time limit. You get to use an Assault Shotgun for this challenge. When you see a barrel to be shot, then just hold down the fire button and keep it held down to the barrel is destroyed. Quickly tapping the fire button is about 0.004352 seconds quicker than holding it down, but it really isn't worth a very sore finger to do it. There are three stages that the barrel goes through. There is the first stage in it's like, where it is a full barrel. Once you shoot it a few times, it will then go smaller. Keep shooting the barrel even when it is little to destroy it. What will end up are no barrel, and just a pile of toxic waste on the ground, just left there. Go around doing this to every barrel you see. The barrels are located everywhere in the level. Up high, down low, hidden, all around the place. A few things can help you on your journey. One thing is to put the reset viewpoint off. You can save a few seconds by shooting the bottom of the barrel when it is full, and keep it aimed there, so when it gets down to the small stage, you then don't have to move your view down there to shoot the small barrel. The next thing is to not go near the barrel when it is exploding, or you will get part of the explosion. So, try to destroy it from abit back and aim at its bottom part. There are some health icons and armour around the level, but it takes up time getting them, but some are on the way. All the health/armour locations are in the same place as the arcade mode, so you may know where they are. The two hidden barrels are the ones unde the stairs in story mode. It is really out of the way from all of the other barrels. When you get up top for the first time (considering you take the metal stairs up) look down to the ground, and near where a whole lot of barrels were, look down there. Just above it you will see the tip of a barrel. I'm not sure if there is two here, so just keep firing using L2 and destroy the barrel. CHALLENGE 6-B: THE ESCORT ========================= This challenge is a really easy one to complete. Lt Christie Malone has volunteered to walk through the plant and draw out some enemies. You must kill these people before they kill you. With your weapons, just go around shooting everyone that you see. Enemies will pop out from alot of places, so just get you to take the bullet. Attract the attention towards you and shoot the enemies. You will probably die a few times. Just protect her, and shoot all of the enemies that you can see. Just get her to where there were alot of barrels in the last challenge. I did this challenge about second time I tried the challenge and the escortee has 40% health left. CHALLENGE 6-C: BANK HIEST ========================= This challenge can be a pain to complete, and seems really hard and annoying to complete. You will die alot of times during this mission, but that's okay, since you spawn nearly in the same spot so you can shoot down at the enemies. Anyway, Fingers McKenzie and his gang are planning to rob the bank. The SWAT team is only 5 minutes away. You must protect the bags from being stolen by the gang. You must not let the gang get away with more than 5 bags, or the mission is failed. The bags must be filled with money or something. Never let an enemy get in that front door. Try to aim there first, and duck so most of the other enemies can't shoot you. Let no one get in. If someone does get in, well, you can't move off of the ledge, so that might hurt your choices. Just keep killing all of the enemies. When a bag does finally come out of the bank, then kill the person straight away with it. Do not let them get away with any bag? Watch the people near the bag, and only shoot these people while also shooting the people going into the bank. Just protect the entrance and the bag. Enemies will take a close path to get away from you, and when they are through that path, they have got the bag secured. Just protect any bag, and hold them off getting the 5 bags for 5 minutes. They ill at least probably get 2 bags. CHALLENGE 7-A: SHOP TILL YOU DROP (BY JESSE BALZER) =================================================== Challenge 7-A: In this challenge, you have 3 minutes to attain and return 15 bags to your Bag Base. This is not an easy task. Try letting you team do most of the work, as the competing BOTs seem to shoot you more so than them. Also, pick up some cheapo points by waiting until someone from the other team comes with a bag, shoot them, and bring it in for a score. Also, If you have a bag, and are getting shot, try to get as close to your base as possible, so that when you respawn, you can just pick it up and return it in minimal time. Now I will say something for this challenge. You can try and get some bags yourself, but you will get killed alot. Try to make a run for the bag, but if you die, respawn straight away and grab that same bag and bring it closer to your base. Enemeies can kill you in afew shots here, so they will fire from along way away to kill you. This means that they wont be near the bag when you drop it because you die. I think they are the same, but it doesn't show the same number on the stats. And how can a killing spree stop if I don't die? ANSWER: Most kills without dying is what it says. The counter resets when you die and the kills are recorded. The "Longest Killing Spree" means that you can only have about 1 - 4 Seconds between each kill otherwise it resets. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- QUESTION: Is there any way that I can do a free roam of a level. For example, play a level without any enemies on it in either Story Mode or the Arcade mode? ANSWER: There is no way that you can do it in story mode, but hey, it Is "Story Mode." There is a few ways that you can try to free Roam a level in the Arcade game mode. Go to custom weapons and don't set any, and then play. Or you could plug a second controller in but have no one really play as that and then put all bots off. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- QUESTION: What exactly are the Timesplitters. Are the timesplitters actually all of the characters you play or what? ANSWER: Actually, no, they are not the timesplitters. Timesplitters are the evil people. Well, when you pick up the mission objective (Eg ankh from the tomb) those things that spawn and throw fire at you are Timesplitters. Do challenge 9-A and you will know what I mean. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- QUESTION: I am having trouble completing the game, and I wondered if there are any cheats for the game, like push button codes or are there any unlockable cheats that you can get progressing? through the game. ANSWER: There are no push button codes whatsoever. But, there are cheats that can be unlocked. Completing various levels very fast can give you some cheats. Some cheats are pretty crap (Eg, Big Heads) but some are really cool (Eg, Infinite Ammo and Paintball). ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- QUESTION: When I complete the level, it comes back to the mission select screen, but I just completed the level, but there is no time limit for the level and I can't move on, what is going wrong? ANSWER: You are using cheats to complete the level. You cannot use any unlocked cheat in story mode, otherwise it will not count your time. All times have to be genuine, so you can't cheat. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- QUESTION: What exactly does the word "Hypochondriac" mean? I have got this award many times in Arcade mode, but don't know how I got it, and what it means. ANSWER: Hypochondriac means that you think something is wrong with you, but there really isn't anything at all wrong with you, so to get it, when you have been like shot once, grab some more health. Select lights, then Select an effect and then select what colour the light is going to Be, and then set it where you want it to go. - Make sure you give where the bag bases are a big enough room so you can defend it easier. It's not good putting it somewhere where it is cramped. - Spread your map out over all of the levels. It is fun to explore every single level on the game. Make lots of ramps and things like that. - Put a section where every weapon is available so that you can get well equipped and outgun your opponent every time.
