  2. Additional Details:
I played this game before and beat it. I had Vaan, Basch, and Balthier. I felt like Balthier was a very lame character so I want to know some opinions from other players. There is a weapon that got my attention. The measures, What kind of weapon are those? Are they useful?

  1. I always use just the guys as my main party. Vaan is a fast character with a very good magic potency, Basch is one of the stronger characters but he doesn't have a very good magic potency, and Balthier is basically in between, to me it seems like he has a good balance between speed, magic and strength. You could almost say hes neutral in a way. The same goes with the girls. Well, almost, from what I've seen as I've played the girls are a little different. Penelo is the same as Vaan, fast with good magic. Fran is strong like Basch, but she also has good speed and magic. Ashe is like Balthier, neutral. Again, this is just what I've observed while playing. So you could just mix them up. As far as weapons go, there's not really a difference between who's using what. Every character is good with every weapon. This isn't meant to sound snippy and i apologize if it does, but most people think Baltheir should stay on guns and Fran should stay on bows because those are the weapons they started out with, and i don't agree with that. The only noticeable differences between the weapons and the person wielding it is the strength and abilities of the weapon, not the person.

  1. The differences in statistics are negligible, but Vaan, Ashe, and Basch are the best characters. Just choose whichever characters you want, though. Same goes for weapons; there really aren't any noticeable differences. Basically, you can choose whichever characters you want with any weapons you want. Just make sure you're getting the weapons with the best damage output.

-vann just start and end the game with him as leader has an awsume looking lvl3 quicking and is good with swords
-bash he can hit pretty hard and is very use full in battles with axes (keep him on axes till zodiack spear)
-baltier has a good ranged wepon it dose fiar damage better then the frist bows keep him on guns not crossbows

  3. Fortunately in this game most characters end up with the same overall build, hence making the characters flexible and able to use any kind of weapon well. ^ Kitten3150 ^ said it pretty well. Just make sure you have one assigned as a 'predominant' tank (most often Vaan or Basche, sometimes Ashe) and a 'predominant' healer (most often Ashe or Penelo). I say predominant because, well, all the characters can heal and attack, right? So make sure the gambit set-ups complement each other, like Ashe having all the healing gambits farther up than Vaan, and it doesn't really matter what character you use.

The third character varies and depends on the playing style of the player. Some go for two close range attackers and one healer, while some want a tank, a magick user and a healer. Also, the equipment. Are they all the same? If some characters have higher HP than one other member, then obviously they would be better suited to tank, same thing goes for something with higher MP, make them the healer/buffer.

Do you find Balthier lame as a character or as a long range attacker? :P There are people who make him wield a spear if you don't want him holding a gun. If you really don't like him, then you should switch him out with Basch or Ashe.

On another note, I've rarely seen measures put to use. You should try looking up videos at youtube and see if they were used for any sort of special run. But asides from that, I haven't seen good use for them in normal gameplay.

I remember having Basch, Ashe and Balthier as my party the last time I played. Tank, healer/secondary attacker, and long range attacker/buffer. Just experiment, hopefully you can find your best party, just don't forget to set-up your secondary party the same way, so you can always substitute if something goes wrong :)
