"You Won't Be Dissappointed"
Fatal Frame is one of the best horror games out there. You'd be missing out on a lot if you didn't play this game-no matter how old it is.
Your only weapon is a camera. I know, it sounds stupid, right? But trust me, it isn't. That is one of the best points in this game-what makes it unique. You get accustomed to it really quick, and you will find it clever and exciting. It's a great and unique factor in the game. That's what makes the game special. 10/10
Though not as great as the 7th generation consoles that are out there today, the graphics are simply amazing. The flashlight shines on the environment with great effects. Shadows and cut scenes are detailed and shaded to their best. One of the best PS2 games out there with the best graphics. Definitely deserves a 10/10
Now, we get to the story. The plot is very complex with a lot of side-stories and side missions, involving Miku looking for her brother Mafuyu in the dreaded Himuro mansion. Now the mansion is rumored to be haunted-and it is. Miku discovers that girls (called Shrine Maidens) were brought and rituals were performed on them. I'll stop there, but to sum it up the story gets a 10/10. One of the best stories out there.
The soundtrack in the game is great. From environmental surroundings to the sounds that the ghosts moan will be etched in your mind forever. You won't be disappointed-it adds a lot to the atmosphere. 10/10
The only problem with the game play was the camera angles which accidentally screw your direction as you run away from enemies. That is the only problem, everything else works perfectly with the PS2 (or PS3's) controller, 9/10
-Atmosphere and Scare Level-
The atmosphere is one of the best a game can offer- and only few games can do that. Examples are Silent Hill and the game Siren. Those are the true survival horror video games that will get you to jump in your seat. The game incorporates some Asian/Eastern horror elements which is great-Western Horror isn't as scary. 10/10
Fatal Frame is one of the best video games out there. Even if you do not like Survival Horror, you DEFINITELY should try it out. The atmosphere, everything about it is perfect and you should buy it while you have the chance. Worth a buy.
