Here is a complete breakdown on how all of the controls are set up and
how best to take advantage of them. Several tips can also be found here
that will make GRABS, THROWS and COMBOS much easier to master.
    | 1. MOVING | (L3 Stick)
The only way to move your character around is via the "L3" stick. Since
the game is done in 3D you simply tap the stick in whatever direction you
wish to move. Forward will always be determined based on what direction
the character is facing. By slightly tapping the stick you will walk and
by tapping it all the way you will run. Pressing the "L3" stick in has no
    effect whatsoever.
NOTE: The D-Pad has zero influence over any functions in the game.
    | 2. COMBOS / ATTACKS | (R3 Stick)
All attacks and combos are executed by tapping the "R3" stick in the
direction of your desired strike. As with the "L3" stick forward is based
on the direction your character is facing in. There are numerous attacks
that Kit can unleash from basic one two's to full fledged 6 Hit
combinations. There are 6 different combos in total. (One in each
Also, by pressing "L1" when your "Adrenaline" meter (Red) is flashing and
tapping "R3" rhythmically in the direction of your choice, Kit will
perform a seriously punishing set of strikes. There are several of these
available and based on my experience it is all dependent on the direction
and angle you are unloading from.
TIP: To get a really devastating combo simply unload three or four blows
and then use your full ADRENALINE attack to bring the total number
of hits all the way up to 12 or so.
TIP 2: Since an attack is set for each direction and angle, you can mix
and match your attacks meaning that you can push the stick forward
to do attack one of the forward combo, then back to do attack two
of the back combo, then left for hits three and four etc. until
you have done all five attacks.
TIP 3: "TEMPORARY INVINCIBILITY" can be achieved by simply holding "R3"
in the direction of your combo after the 5th Hit. Kit will briefly
pose with his arms outstretched for about 3 seconds and during
this time will remain invincible to all attacks.

DEEPER INSIGHT: As stated, Jet has 6 directions in which he can use regular
combo hits, 5 of these directions are a five hit combo, and
directly behind him is a 6 hit combo.
Now, the individual combo hits can be delayed substantially to
suit the situation (i.e. giving a slower attacker a chance to
come into range for a hit), but once an individual hit is
delayed to a certain point, it becomes a 'stun hit' (any of the
6 directions) that the opponent will suffer slow motion
                    knock-back hit from.
Here is an example for attacking forward: Jab, thump, sweep,
roundhouse, jumping overhead thrust punch. This is the regular 5
hit combo. If you delay the fourth hit, you will get: Jab,
thump, sweep (delay) ridge hand strike. (This is a stun hit) If
on the other hand you delayed the second hit, you would get:
Jab (delay) ridge hand strike. (See? Controlled Stun hit)
The really cool thing about stun hits is that they do not
interrupt the combo, and you can continue immediately with the
first hit of any of the 6 direction combos, which can be once
again, delayed into a stun hit at any point of that combo, and
                    re-started on the first hit.

NOTE: For JUMPING kick attacks see the notes under the "SPECIAL ACTIONS"
    | 3. ADRENALINE | (L1 Button)
In the upper left corner of your screen you will see three meters. (Press
select if none are shown) The RED meter is your ADRENALINE gauge. Once it
is filled it will begin flashing and you will be able to unleash a wicked
combination of punches and kicks. In order to execute this move press
"L1" + Tap the "R3" stick rhythmically in the direction of your choosing.
(I believe the maximum number of hits is 8 but I could be mistaken) You
can refill your ADRENALINE meter by simply beating up on your attackers
and or countering their blows ("L1 + R1 + R3" Stick in their direction as
    they strike)
TIP: Simply pressing "L1" will let you perform a brief ADRENALINE TAUNT
         (ADRENALINE meter must be flashing).
TIP 2: A successful Grab/throw maneuver should fully replenish your
           ADRENALINE meter
TIP 3: JUMPING against walls will increase your ADRENALINE meter.

TIP 4: Taunting can extend your ADRENALINE somewhat. After you finish
your 5-hit Combo, hold "L1" without direction and Kit will
Taunts his opponent, which will extend his ADRENALINE bar. If an
enemy is approaching, you can sill taunt but it maybe be wise to
cut it half way to begin fighting again. This is extremely
useful when using the "Fist of Legend Skin"(See "EXTRAS"), since
Chen Zhen gains ADRENALINE quicker than Kit. Taunts can also be
           after finishing ADRENALINE Combos.

TIP 5: You can perform the NO SHADOW KICK by following the following
ADRENALINE attack directions: Face forward (this will be your
North direction) and then initiate the ADRENALINE combination and
finish the 7th Hit in the Southwestern direction. (Lower Left
direction of the "R3" sticks range)
           (Credit: AzN bReAkEr BoI)
Tip 6: Try ending your ADRENALINE combos in different directions to find
out the other cool attacks that are hidden in there. There is also
a leaping split-kick move that kicks two enemies simultaneously. I
think it is executed when ending your combo at 14 or 15 Hits.
NOTE: While equipped with a gun the Adrenaline function serves as a
Slow Motion Dive. Replenish by shooting enemies.
NOTE 2: Striking boxes and other decorative objects will deplete your
            ADRENALINE meter.
    | 4. BLOCKING | (R1 Button during fighting only)
To BLOCK simply press "R1" when and enemy strikes. Depending on the
situation Kit may literally block the blow or simply dodge it. You will
see your BLOCK meter in the upper left portion of your screen in blue. By
using your BlOCKS and GRABS it will deplete the BLOCKING meter but it
will then quickly replenish itself again after a few seconds. If you are
holding a melee weapon such as a bat or stick, Kit will use them to block
incoming strikes. However, while carrying a gun the "R1" button will not
NOTE: Tandem Attacks will also deplete your BLOCK meter.
    | 5. GRABBING / THROWING | (R1 + R3 Directionally)
To grab an enemy simply press "R1 + R3"(In enemy's direction) when your
opponent is in reach or stunned. Once Kit GRABS on, keep the "R1" button
pressed and then slap the "R3" stick in the direction of your choice to
execute a Smash, Dunk, Drag etc. type prompt. By slapping the "R3" stick
twice or more quickly will unleash a throw or other punishing attack on
your enemy. In addition you can also lead your GRABBED enemy around by
keeping "R1" pressed while leading them around with the "L3" stick.
NOTE: This does not work on everyone all the time. Beware of the
repercussions of a failed attempt to grab. (Always be ready to
          COUNTER if you're GRAB misses)
TIP: When fighting alongside Michelle, grab her to perform Tandem
attacks. (Keep "R1" pressed while slapping the "R3" stick multiple
times around and lead her with "L3")
TIP 2: Execute GRABS and THROWS by holding R1 while slapping "R3" toward
an enemy, which will grab them. Then, by still holding the "R1"
button and going in a given direction multiple times with the
right stick, you will be able to perform a multi-part throw move.
You can also just slap the right stick once or twice to do part of
the throw combo. Try different "R3" combinations like Up, Down or
Left, Left to execute a variety of throws and punishing grab
           (Credit kslin88)
TIP 3: When near counter tops, grill or long tables you can DRAG enemies
across them and send them flying. Simply GRAB them and then DRAG
them when prompted to by keeping "R1" pressed while slapping the
"R3" stick in the given direction.
    | 6. COUNTERING | (L1 + R1 + R3 Directionally)
Countering is one of the most useful abilities in the control scheme. It
basically allows you to inflict a single strike without being hit in
return. In order to properly execute the COUNTER ATTACK simply press and
Hold "L1+R1" and wait for the enemy to strike. As soon as he does, tap
the "R3" stick in his direction. You will thereby hit him without being
hit yourself. Certain enemies will be momentarily stunned and vulnerable
to a quick follow up attack or GRABS.
NOTE: This does not always work since more advanced enemies will simply
stand off with you without striking and often in crowd brawls you
          can get overwhelmed.
NOTE 2: This is a necessity for knocking bikers off of their bikes in
later stages. (Simply keep the buttons pressed and wait until
they are in range and then tap "R3" in their direction.
TIP: When surrounded by multiple enemies just keep in mind that you need
to tap "R3" in the direction of the first incoming strike to
counter. This is very useful when low on health. Often times this
results in a multi counter where Kit will bash heads together or
perform a sweeping kick to knock multiple advancing enemies down.
TIP 2: Often times a COUNTER will result in a cinematic GRAB move
followed by Kit twisting the opponents arm and then following up
with a heel kick to their back. During the fight with the 2 thugs
at the beginning of "The Catwalks" this is a given. (Most Ski
jacket wearing thugs are also susceptible to this)
TIP 3: The NO SHADOW KICK can only be performed against Kwan after winning a
lengthy COUNTERING match. The kick is a 7-HIT leaping multi-kick to the
face and upper torso.(It is a COUNTER) There is however a variation
available when landing the 7th Hit of your Adrenaline combo to the
Southwest corner. (Southwest on your "R3" stick)
    | 7. SHOOTING | (R2 + R3 Directionally - With Gun Only!)
During the scenes that require you to fire weapons simply aim with "R3"
and then simultaneously press "R2" to fire an endless stream of bullets.
NOTE: You must aim in order to shoot. Also, simply keep "R2" pressed
rather than tapping "R2" or you'll be wondering why the hell your
damn guns aren't firing on command.
TIP: Whenever you see a hanging sign over a gunman or a scooter, or any
other odd type of object, simply press "L2" to target it and then
simultaneously press "R2" to fire at it. The crosshairs will be
white. This will cause some sort of beneficial reaction for you. :)
TIP 2: Using your Adrenaline ability (L1) will cause you to perform a
slow motion dive similar to Max Payne's which will allow you to
momentarily slow down time while continuing to shoot at your
assailants. The meter must be flashing in order to do this and can
easily be replenished by shooting enemies. Always try diving
towards your next hiding spot to avoid landing in the open as a
           sitting duck.
Tip 3: Take advantage of Dual Targeting. To do this simply hold down the "R2"
button and flick the "R3" stick towards the first enemy. This will lock
your sites onto him. Now while still holding the "R2" button, flick the
"R3" stick towards the second enemy. This is also useful for targeting
two objects simultaneously ("L2" targeting - If multiple objects are
           available that is)
    | 8. SPECIAL ACTIONS | (R1 Button - Only when Prompted)
As you play the game you will come across numerous situations that
require Kit to perform such simple tasks as Jumping, Climbing, Hiding
etc. All of these tasks will be prompted by a little pop up message on
screen that will state the action required. Simply press the "R1" button
when prompted and Kit will do the rest. Below is a breakdown of all the
prompts you can expect to find in the game.
    |*--------------------*| *-------------------------* |
    |*--------------------*| *-------------------------* |
    | JUMP* |Prompted when blocked by obstacles such as |
    | |boxes, cars, railings etc. Also used to jump |
    | |up to a higher plateau and along walls to |
    | |execute WALL KICKS*. (See Notes below table) |
    | HIDE |Prompted mainly during Gun-based and Stealth |
    | |scenarios. Allows you to duck behind garbage |
    | |cans, crates, pillars etc. |
    | CLIMB |Prompted by ladders you need to ascend in |
    | |order to progress. |
    | GRAB |Prompted when near an enemy on a suspended |
    | |walkway or catwalk. Pressing "R1" during the |
    | |prompt will make Kit throw the enemy over the |
    | |sides for an instant kill. |
    | DRAG |Allows you to drag enemies across countertops.|
    | |You must first GRAB the enemy and then lead |
    | |them towards the corner of a countertop to |
    | |trigger the prompt. (Bar Room Brawl is a good |
    | |spot to test this out) |
    | PICK UP |Allows you to pick up most dropped weapons as |
    | |well as melee items such as BATS, PIPES, |
    | |CHAIRS etc. Simply stand over the item to |
    | |trigger the prompt. |
    | WALL RUN |Allows you to briefly run along a wall in |
    | |order to bypass a gap.(The prompt is still |
    | |JUMP) |
    | USE |Prompted at doors you need to open in order to|
    | |proceed. |
    | SMASH |Allows you to smash an enemy into a grill, |
    | |walls, aquarium etc. You must first GRAB on to|
    | |the enemy and then lead them towards the |
    | |object to trigger the prompt. |
    | DUNK |Allows you to momentarily drown an enemy in a |
    | |sink of water. You must first GRAB on to your |
    | |enemy and then lead them to the sink in order |
    | |to trigger the prompt. ("Fowl Recipe" is a |
    | |great testing ground for this action) |
*When Prompted to JUMP near a wall you can perform the following variations:
RUN UP WALLS: Simply press and hold "R1 + R3" (Direction Wall) to run up the
wall until Kit flips back down. If he lands on an enemy it will
                  knock him down.
WALL KICK: Simply press "R1 + R3" (Direction wall) to execute a spinning WALL
KICK. (For those of you familiar with Street Fighter II think of Ryu
and Ken's Tornado like spinning kick, only shorter)
SPINNING KICK (After landing): Run up the wall and release "R1" as you get to
the peak. Now quickly press "R1" again right as
Kit lands to execute a jumping SPIN KICK away
                                   from the wall.
BACKFLIP KICK: Run up the wall until Kit back flips back down and then press
"L1 + R1" while Kit is still crouched from landing to execute The
BACKFLIP KICK. (This costs a little bit of ADRENALINE but is
                   highly effective against multiple enemies)

                              >-=VI.GAMEPLAY OVERVIEW=-<
In Jet Li: Rise To Honor you assume the role of Kit Yun(Jet Li) as you progress
through numerous scenes involving fighting, pursuit, endurance and stealth. The
gameplay is set up in such a way that you can seamlessly attack and move by mere
use of the "L3" and "R3" analog sticks. And as awkward as this may initially
seem, once accustomed you'll wish more games were developed in this way. Story
wise the game follows a linear as well as easy to navigate path and overall the
game is extremely forgiving by regularly auto-saving and allowing you to pick
any previously played scene directly from a chapter menu.
For game specific tips and hints please refer to the section just prior to the
    actual Mission Walkthrough.
    |1. ON SCREEN DISPLAY | (HUD -Press "Circle" during gameplay to view)
The on screen display consists of several gauges as described below:
GREEN GAUGE: Health (When it is done so are you)
RED GAUGE: Adrenaline (When flashing, Hit "L1 + R3" directionally)
BLUE GAUGE: Blocking (Replenishes quickly but a few seconds is enough to invite
                a beating)
HIT COUNTER: Keeps track of how many successive blows you most recently dealt.
ACTION: Prompts you to Jump, climb, pick up a melee item etc.
ENEMY HEALTH GAUGES: The order of strong to weak is Blue - Green - Orange - Red.
NOTE: Bosses will have a large Green Bar opposite yours
TIP: You can press SELECT to toggle the HUD on and off. By switching it off you
get the full movie type feeling in my opinion.
There are numerous weapons and Items that you can pick up along the way and use
against your aggressors. This section takes a descriptive look at all of them.

    | BASEBALL BAT | Wield one or wield two. Either way your victim will see|
    | | red. |
    | WOODEN STICKS | Put a hurtin' on the enemy son! |
    | STICK WITH HOOK | Almost a sickle really. Like the old Japanese weapon. |
    | SPIKED BAT | The perfect remedy for persistent aggressors. (Highly |
    | | effective and powerful) |
    | FROZEN CHICKEN | Found on the counter in the kitchen scene "FOWL RECIPE"|
    | | An odd yet amazingly effective weapon. |
    | PIPE | No, not the one you smoke. Just your typical Steel Pipe|
    | TABLE LEGS | Some tables when broken will leave a leg behind that |
    | + | can be used. Some chairs in the Bar also leave legs |
    | CHAIR LEGS | behind. |
    | PLUMBERS WRENCH | Won't fix the leak but will certainly remind your foe |
    | | that a doctor's visit is in order. (Big Red I call it) |
    | PLUNGER | Found in the bathroom stall in Chapter 40. If your name|
    | | is Abner Louima you might want to simply avoid this |
    | | room altogether. :) |
    | CROWBAR | Yes, you can officially open a can of whoop ass now. |
    | LOCKER PIECES | A small metal bar that looks like a thin crowbar.(Smash|
    | | lockers to find them) |
    | PIECE OF WOOD | Think of "Walking Tall" Jet-Li style. (2x4 lumber) |
    | LARGE MEAT HOOK | Gotten during the brawl just prior to "BILLY BATTLE." |
    | | Slightly slower weapon as it tends to get briefly stuck|
    | | in enemies at times. |
    | MACHETTE | Also available during the brawl just prior to "BILLY |
    | | BATTLE." Sadly no decaps or chopped off limbs are |
    | | possible though. |
    | CANDLE STICK HOLDER | Found in the church. A hard hitting weapon that comes |
    | | in very usefully once it's found. "Look, it's Blunt |
    | | Trauma everybody!" |
    | ELECTRIC STICKS | Found only during "BOILER ROOM BRAWL II". Shocks |
    | | enemies to death with just one head on strike. Yes I |
    | | know that some security guards carry similar ones also |
    | | but sadly those cannot be used.

    | CHAIRS | Pretty much any chair is throwable once. Sending foes |
    | | crashing into chairs however will render them useless. |
    | GARBAGE CANNISTERS | Found in many of the interior locations including the |
    | | Metreon Building as well as on the docks. Great fun can|
    | | be had by smashing these on your opponents or using |
    | | them to strategically take out multiple enemies while |
    | | stealth mode. (Also useable only once) |
    | BLUE VASES | Found throughout the Construction zone. |
    | PLANT POTS | Found in hospital hallways and filled with dirt. |
    | MOP BUCKETS | Also found in certain areas of the hospital. This is |
    | | the yellow industrial one but unfortunately has no |
    | | water in it so you can't drown someone in Mop water. |
    | ANY WIELDED WEAPON | Any weapon from the previous listing can also be thrown|
    | | by simply pressing "R1" and slapping "R3" in the |
    | | direction of your choice. This is an excellent way to |
    | | discard weaker weapons for stronger ones as well as |
    | | defeating those with excellent defenses. |
    | *----* | *-------------------------* |
    | GUNS | BRIEF OVERVIEW / COMMENTS |
    | *----* | *-------------------------* |
    | HANDGUNS | There will be numerous times during the game where you |

    | | Weapons. They look like Desert Eagles, Berettas and |

    | NAIL GUNS | These are very powerful semi automatic guns that fire |
    | | an endless stream of carpenters nails. "CHOP SHOP |
    | | SHOOTOUT" is the scene that will introduce them. |
    | UZI'S | Self explanatory really. Very similar to Max Payne's |
    | | Dual Ingrams. Hospital shootouts anyone? |
NOTE: All Weapons are discarded at the end of a scene. You cannot keep or
otherwise store your melee weapons or guns for future use.
TIP: The closer the enemy is when struck, the greater the damage. (Excluding
         gunfire obviously)
TIP 2: There are six different types of combos with the melee weapons. (1 in
every direction) Take note of this if you have a certain favorite move.
TIP 3: Try to get the strongest weapons in each battle. Once an enemy with a
stronger weapon like a SPIKED BAT dies, throw your melee weapon at
another and quickly pick up the new weapon.
TIP 4: ADRENALINE attacks are enhanced when wielding weapons. Wielding two
weapons(Guns excluded) will allow you to perform a devastating tornado
           like spinning attack.

Here are some useful gameplay tips that will surely help you become a much
    better fighter and survivor.
-Use your environment to your advantage. Many scenes have chairs and other Items
that you can pick up and smash other people in the face with. Use them whenever
possible to give yourself an added offensive edge.
-When fighting multiple enemies try to lure them into open areas to avoid
     being overwhelmed in a corner.
-COUNTERING works effectively against 99% of all enemies. Abuse this skill for a
     guaranteed advantage.
-Learn to use your Blocking ability. It will make you a master of the arts to
think both defensively as well as offensively.
-Learn to master GRABBING as you can have tons of fun with this feature like
throwing people over railings, drowning them in sinks, unleashing punishing
     specific details.
-When low on health use your Countering skills to try and survive the scene.
Remember that you must tap the "R3" stick in the direction of the incoming
strike. If you react quickly you can be surrounded and barely ever get hit.
-During the Stealth oriented scenes take your time to observe the enemy movement
patterns. The better you can predict their next move, the more efficiently you
     can take them out.
-Use your Items and Weapons. Why take them if you are not going to use them?
-When fighting multiple enemies try to take out the ones with a weapon first so
that the rest can truly be punished in brutal fashion.
-Divvy up your offensive strikes as much as you can. Focusing all of your
attention on one enemy leaves you open to being swarmed by the rest.
Furthermore it will keep everyone off balance and often times stunned. Try
concentrating on the nearest enemy but save the last one or two strikes for the
next enemy approaching. (Proper usage of this method will win every brawl)
-When facing large enemies that use head butts, throws/smashes, try using a
combo attack or wall kick to knock him to ground. Now quickly position yourself
so that when he gets to his feet, his back will be facing you. Usually this
type of enemy usually cannot turn around quickly enough and you can get in
     another dose.
-There are 6 different combo's available in the game. (One in each direction)
The maximum combo strike is 5 hits. However, if you unleash a three or four hit
combo and then immediately unleash an ADRENALINE attack, you will be able to
add significantly more blows to your combos. Experimentation here is key.
-During the Gun related scenes make sure that you are directing the "R3" stick
before firing. Also make sure that you simply press and hold the FIRE (R2)
button rather than mashing it madly.
-Whenever you face difficult gunmen look around to see if there are objects to
be targeted like hanging signs, explosive canisters etc. Press "L2" to target
them. Often this will make the going a helluva lot easier for you.
-As with hand to hand combat, when firing against multiple gunmen, try to spread
your shots around to keep them all stunned. Focusing on killing one at a time
will only seal your own fate. Spread the love...er..lead around.
-Take advantage of Dual Targeting during shooting based scenes. To do this
simply hold down the "R2" button and flick the stick towards an enemy much like
you would for a combo hit. This will lock your sites onto an enemy. Now while
Still holding the "R2" button, flick towards the next enemy. This also works
for multiple object ("L2") targeting. (If multiple objects are available that

In this section you can find out information about the various characters found
in this game. NOTE: Some of the information in this section was taken word for
word from the user manual and lots of it was simply ad-libbed by me.
    | KIT YUN | (Jet Li)
Driven by revenge over his father's death, Kit has placed himself deep inside
one of Hong Kong's most dangerous criminal organizations. Torn between his
friendship with the organization's leader and his duty as an undercover police
officer, Kit searches for answers that may expose the truth behind the Hong Kong
NOTE: Two additional skins are unlocked once you complete the game. There are
certain differences between these skins both in appearance as well as
abilities. More detailed information on this can be found in the
          "EXTRAS" Section of the guide.
NOTE 2: Jet Li's Chinese name, when pronounced in Cantonese and then translated
into English, is "Lee Lin Kit". This could possibly be influential in
            the main characters naming.
            (Credit: kslin88)
Mentor to Kit and friend of his deceased father, Boss Chiang is a respected
businessman whose decisions are shrouded in mystery as well as his past. Beyond
that Boss Chiang is also the father of Michelle, a lifelong friend of Kit's.
Daughter of Boss Chiang and close childhood friend of Kit. It has been years
since Michelle fled Hong Kong to start a new life in San Francisco, but her life
is about to change as forces beyond her control compel her to confront the life
    she left behind.
    | CHI |
Lifelong friend of both Kit and Michelle, Chi has the best intentions in the
world, even if his execution needs some work. His knowledge of the streets of
San Francisco are vital to Kit if he is to find Michelle.
NOTE: It is just an observation by myself but I feel as though the made Chi out
to be a dumbed down version of Jackie Chan. Perhaps its just me but I
          think it was done intentionally.
    | LT. VICTOR LAU |
Kit's boss inside the Hong Kong police force and one of the few people Kit
trusts. He also shoulders the responsibility of knowing what could happen should
Kit's cover be blown. Lau provides Kit with the tools and connections necessary
to bring justice to the Hong Kong streets.
    | FEI and HUNG | (aka The Twins)
These guys like to attack together and fondly remind me of the Double Dragon
days. Many think there is only one of these Mohawk wearing baddies walking
around but lo and behold the secret twin.
    | CHEUNG MO PAO | (aka The Drunken Barkeep)
Cheung Mo Pao owns Estros Bar in San Francisco. He is a master of the art of
Drunken Boxing and will be more than willing to quench any thirst. Even if that
means drowning you. Don't let his drunken demeanor fool you though as this cat
is as sober as can be.
    | SUNG LUNG | (aka The Metreon Bad Guy)
Not much is known about this man except that he roams with quite a pack of
thugs. Concealed behind an oversized ski jacket no one knows just how good of a
    shape he's in.
    | BILLY SOON | (aka The San Fran Boss Man)
Billy is the ruthless overseer of Hong Kong operations in San Francisco. He has
long-standing ties with Kwan and will gladly use his might and influence to do
    Kwan's bidding.
    | WON JANG | (aka The Mad Gunman)
Not much is known about WON except that he is an excellent marksman. As a clever
and skilled shooter, this henchman of Kwan's should not be taken lightly. He is
often spotted around the boats by the seedy Hong Kong docks.
    | MUI LIN | (aka The Nurse)
Very little is known about Mui Lin except that she is a skilled martial artist
and has chosen the wrong path in life. Mui Lin might look like a helpful nurse
but trust me, her brand of healing doesn't feel too good.
    | KWAN | (aka The End Of The Line)
Consumed with ambition, Kwan is willing to obtain his self-serving goals by
whatever means possible. His position in Boss Chiang's organization leaves him
with many tools to achieve his objectives and much to be gained by strengthening
    his power base.
NOTE: I have only listed those Bosses and Sub-Bosses who have an actual health
meter and name. There are a few more in the game that do not meet this
criteria and are therefore only found listed in the Walkthrough portion of
          the FAQ.
Innocent civilians come in several sizes and shapes but are easy to spot as they
immediately cower in fear as you approach them. Unleash a single blow on them
and *Poof* they die and disappear. Some of them also have pretty funny dialogue
(i.e. a prostitute arguing with a broke customer in the very first scene) I
recommend English language settings for those of you who can't understand
Cantonese, myself included) Areas that have innocent civilians include the
opening scenes, the Metreon balconies as well as some of the hospital
    examination rooms.
This is the heart and soul of the document. In this section you will find a
complete walkthrough for all 63 scenes contained within the game. Please note
that THERE ARE SPOILERS contained herein. However, in an attempt to please both
kinds of gamers simultaneously, I have indicated all CUTSCENE DEPICTIONS and
NARRATION spoilers according to the following Legend.

NOTE: All scenes were done with "ENGLISH language settings" for obvious reasons.
    Here we go...
    Location: Hong Kong Alley
    Scenario Type: Pursue
Gameplay Tips: Take your time and get acquainted with Kit's moves and abilities.
On screen messages will get you familiar with the basic abilities
                   at your disposal.
Kit Yun (Jet LI) and Mr. Chiang are shown talking to two men in a Hong Kong
alley. One of the men says: "It is a great to be of service to Mr. Chiang. And
an honor to meet your new bodyguard, Mr. Yun. We remember his father fondly. May
he rest in peace." With that you (Kit Yun) and Mr. Chiang walk off. A short
distance later a man dressed in a red trench coat and dark sunglasses appears
from behind a corner and walks past you and Mr. Chiang. Quickly he snatches a
letter that Mr. Chiang was holding and runs off. You pursue.
As you gain control you can start pursuing this thief down the alleyway. You
cannot lose track of him so take your time and get used to Kit's control scheme.
(If you have the language settings set to English you can get a nice little
chuckle out of the prostitute's conversation with the broke civilian) Follow the
thief and press R1 (ACTION BUTTON) to jump over the chicken cages that block the
path. A short distance later jump over the conveyer loaded with boxes. When you
arrive at the filled dumpster jump up onto the scaffolding on the right and then
continue back down into the alley to continue giving chase. Follow the thief and
bear left at the end and then jump over the two crashed red taxi's as they
appear and block your path. (Get used to timing your R1 taps as fluidity is key
in this game) You will notice that the culprit has reached a dead end and as you
jump over the last boxes here the cutscene will kick in.
The thief looks around the dead end for a way out and then jumps onto a
scaffolding and climbs a ladder out of view.
Simply jump up onto the scaffolding and follow the thief up the ladder towards
    the roof.
Location: Indoors and Fire Escape on side of building
    Scenario Type: Fight
Gameplay Tips: Practice your attacks (R3) and blocks (R1) on this easy foe. Get
a feeling for how Kit strikes and blocks etc. If you get
overwhelmed simply hold L1+R1 and tap R3 in the direction of the
foe as he strikes for an easy counter that will stun him and
leave him momentarily vulnerable to attack.
The thief arrives on a balcony of sorts and barks the following dialogue to one
of his goons: "Here he comes. You know what to do!" With that they both run
inside and the goon closes the sliding glass door and locks it. You arrive
    upstairs a short while thereafter.
As you gain control head for the glass sliding door and press R1 when prompted
to jump. This will show a brief cinematic of Kit smashing feet first through the
glass and landing inside. The aforementioned goon is waiting on a little wooden
walkway for you. Approach him and let loose some blows by tapping your R3 stick
rhythmically in his direction. The fight will quickly be interrupted by a short
cinematic showing the goon running toward the back of the room and saying:
"Let's see how you handle a real fighter." Follow him to the far end and proceed
to give him a hearty beating until the next cinematic kicks in. The cinematic
shows a cemented doorway being bashed open by a bigger, burly enemy who is
holding a hammer. As the goon sees this he runs over and punches the hammer-
wielding goon in the face causing him to fall. The goon then runs off as you are
left to face this new foe. Enter the room and easily defeat this enemy in one
strike and then proceed to jump up onto the scaffolding on the left and walk up
the stairs into the next room. The first cowardly goon is waiting on yet another
wooden walkway for you here. Beat the crap out of him and then continue through
the doorway at the end onto the steel walkway in the next room and climb the
ladder on the left side. Climb the ladder on the next level immediately and a
    cutscene will kick in
The thief is shown jumping onto a electrical window washer's scaffolding and
after the window washer yells in a frightened voice: "What is going on here?",
throws him over the edge and to his death. The thief then presses the green
button causing the scaffolding to rise just as you, Kit, jump and hang on to the
    bar underneath the scaffolding.
    Location: Self explanatory
    Scenario Type: Pursue and Fight
Gameplay Tips: Keep in mind that R1 blocks incoming strikes and if you press
L1+R1 and then simultaneously tap in the direction of an incoming
strike, you will counter it while remaining unscathed. Don't just
focus on one enemy at a time, share your blows accordingly to
keep them all off balance and stunned. This will avoid getting
                   hit from behind unnecessarily.
The thief is shown climbing onto the rooftop and runs past four goons while
commanding: "Take him out!" You arrive moments later and find yourself
    surrounded by these four enemies.
As you gain control get ready to donate a beating to these hapless morons who
don't yet realize just who they are messing with. Once you've dispatched them
head over to the thief who is waiting behind the metallic fence. When you go to
the doorway Kit will smash it open and the thief will quickly jump up onto the
billboard walkway and scowl: "Can't you keep up?" Jump up and give chase and as
soon as the <JUMP> Icon appears press R1 to wall run over the gap and safely
land on the other side. At the small wooden railing that blocks your path turn
to face the screen and jump onto the wooden plank. (You cannot jump over the
wooden divider) A brief cinematic will kick in.
Kit does a somersault over the collapsing walkway and lands safely on the other
side as the thief continues running away. The thief yells: "Go! Go!" and two
goons run onto a little walkway between rooftops and await a beat down.
Beat down these two punks and then continue giving chase over the rooftop until
the cinematic kicks in showing you flipping down onto a lower rooftop facing the
thief. Suddenly two doors open and some goons come running out at you while the
thief runs through the opened door. Beat these clowns and remember to share your
blows equally when surrounded and also grab and throw them or block/counter if
necessary. Several more goons will arrive on the scene but you should easily
defeat them if you are following my advice. Once you've defeated all 10 or so
enemies a brief cinematic will kick in.
A big guy with a long ponytail, shades and a green jacket appears on the ledge
above you. He drops down and cracks his neck and loosens up to begin battle with
Although this enemy looks menacing he is unbelievable easy to defeat. Simply
attack him furiously right off the bat and use your adrenaline attack if need
be. As he dies two fat hooded punks climb up from the sides and begin charging
at you. Simply divvy up your beating accordingly to keep them stunned and off
balance and you will defeat them in no time at all. Once they are done a
    cinematic will kick in.
The thief is shown looking down at you from the rooftop above and flicks the
stolen letter back down to you while saying: "I needed to see for myself to see
if Chiang's new boy was as good as I heard. Be sure to give the old man my
regards." He then takes off and the screen fades to black.
The thief is then shown in a dark alley and turns to see his boss approaching.
He bows to greet him and then says: "Chiang's lapdog has some skills." His boss,
who is concealed from view replies: "We've got to keep an eye on him." The thief
answers: "No problem." As the screen fades to black the boss is heard saying:
    "Do not underestimate this lapdog."
    Location: Restaurant interior
    Scenario Type: CUTSCENE ONLY!!
    Gameplay Tips: N/A
    ...O N E Y E A R L A T E R
The camera pans down onto a restaurant exterior on a dark and rainy night in the
Hong Kong streets. A voice inside is heard arguing: "You just can run things
this way! How can you neglect our business like that!" The camera then switches
indoors to show Boss Chiang seated with Kwan while several bodyguards and you
stand around. Kwan continues his tirade: "What about all of our men, you can't
abandon them! What kind of Boss would do this?" Boss Chiang calmly sips his tea
as the furious man slams his fist onto the table and replies: "I don't want to
    hear anymore. I've already decided."
Just then the door opens and in walks the same thief in red whole had stolen the
letter from you a year earlier. Everyone looks up and Kit motions the other two
bodyguards over to intercept the guy. One of the bodyguard tells the man: "Hey
we're closed, get lost." To this the man turns as if to walk away and then
quickly pulls two handguns from his coat and quickly shoots both bodyguards dead
while Kit is heard saying "Get Down!". Kit then quickly instructs Boss Chiang
and Kwan: "Go out back! Get to the boat!" Kwan yells: "Find out who's behind
this!" as Kit runs and leaps toward the gunman and knocks him thrown with a
spinning leg kick. A machete wielding thug in green then charges at Kit who very
quickly unleashes a combo which sends this guy to the floor too. As he gets to
his feet two more thugs come in to his aid. The thug then says: "Get him!" as
    they circle around.
    Location: Interior Restaurant (Ground Floor)
    Scenario Type: Brawl
Gameplay Tips: Use the room to your advantage by throwing chairs and keeping
your enemies off guard by sharing blows evenly rather than
focusing on one thug at a time. Wall kick off of walls if
surrounded. COUNTERS and ADRENALINE attacks always help too.
SMASH your victims into the tables, cash register etc.
You begin right where the previous cutscene left off and must fight these three
unarmed thugs. Simply share your blows accordingly so as to avoid being hit from
the back while focusing on only one enemy. These three thugs are weak and should
pose no problems. As soon as you kill the last one a brief cutscene will show a
Mohawked thug on the overlooking balcony above you. There are also four thugs
alongside him. He instructs: "Get him!" as they all jump over the railing to
    drop in and fight you.
As with the previous fight, simply share your blows accordingly and also take
advantage of the chairs here which make for great face action. Use the room to
avoid being crowded and you can also JUMP off the walls to perform spinning
kicks which can easily knock multiple enemies down. (NOTE: JUMP must be prompted
onscreen) As they are all defeated the Thug above will be quickly shown again as
he barks: "Don't just stand there! Fight!" to five more thugs who then also drop
    in to fight.
Use the remaining chairs that you have available and continue to share out blows
as though charity was your middle name and use the aforementioned survival
tactics to eliminate these aggressors as well. Several more will join the fight
as you kill a few but just continue fighting and take advantage of COUNTERS and
ADRENALINE attacks and you will defeat them handedly. A brief cutscene will then
show a motor biker smashing through the front window and speeding right at Kit
who quickly jump kicks him off as his bike smashes in a ball of fire through the
back door. The thug above folds his arms and mutters: "Impressive!" as the
helmet wearing biker rises and attacks.
Dispatch this weakling with one or two blows and then proceed through the door
that the burning bike crashed through. (You can punch open the cash register
first in the dining room if you want to explore) Once inside the back room you
will see a locked door by the burning bike with a man looking at you through the
little glass window. You cannot unleash fury on him sadly. Instead head left
towards the aquarium (Which can be destroyed) and a brief cutscene will kick in
showing an elevator arriving and opening up to reveal a relatively large bald
thug in a reddish shirt and shades who runs out and assumes his stance for
    |SUB BOSS BATTLE: Bald Head-Butting Man|
To easily defeat this foe simply use your COUNTERS to stun him and then quickly
volley combinations off against him. Also he can often be combo'd again while
trying to get back up. Beware around the aquarium as he can easily grab you
there and smash you into it. He really only has two main attacks besides that
which include a lunging head butt and a looping right hook. Both are easily
countered and followed up with multiple hits. Try to stay back towards the bike
area and allow him to come towards you, this way you won't get stuck somewhere
tight like around the fish tank.
NOTE: I saw some gameplay footage of this battle on G4TV and Kit unleashed some
wicked GRAB/THROW combinations on this guy.
Once he is defeated a brief cutscene will show the elevator arriving again and
opening for you to enter in. The elevator now brings you to the second floor
balcony of the restaurant from where the Mohawked thug sent all the earlier
    goons from.
Location: Second floor balcony - Gambling room
    Scenario Type: Survive/Brawl
Gameplay Tips: Press R1 when prompted to jump over obstacles as you are running
from the gunfire. Try to run along the wall to trigger the
                   onscreen prompts.
Kit rolls out of the elevator onto the dining room's overlooking balcony and
stealthily leans against the wall for cover as he peaks around to see where the
Mohawked thug is. As he steps out from behind the wall the thug is shown drawing
two Uzi's while saying: "You fight very well. Now let's see if you can run."
As soon as you gain control begin running to your left as the bulletspray lights
up the wall behind you. Run along the wall's edge to bypass littered furnishings
in your path. At the first left turn get ready to press "R1" to JUMP when
prompted and Kit will hop over the safe. Jump over the next safe as well and
keep running. Turn left again and JUMP over the bench and immediately again over
yet another safe and a cutscene will show the thug run out of ammunition, throw
his guns down and walk through the door behind him. Kit follows the thug through
the doors and right into a hidden upstairs gambling room complete with
thoroughbred racing TV's and Mahjong tables. Oh yeah, four thugs are waiting to
fight as the thug is seen pacing about in the office at the far end.
Beat these goons with fists, feet and chair bashing and simply remember to not
get caught up focusing on only one enemy at a time and they will quickly be
defeated. A brief cutscene will show the Mohawked thug in the office as he picks
up two handguns and says: "Guns are everywhere." He then menacingly laughs while
emptying both guns at you but the dividing office window is bulletproof and
hence allows us to proceed. Kit rolls towards the office door as the Mohawk thug
is seen dropping out of view. Just then 5 more thugs come storming out of the
    office and prepare to attack.
Continue with the same tactics to defeat these five but pay most attention to
the two big guys (White tank top + Dark Grey tank top) as they are more likely
to try and grab you. Simply counter them and then take out the weaker foes. Once
they are defeated stand in front of the bulletproof window and press R1 when

will show Kit locating a trapdoor and dropping down into it as arguments are

    Location: Kitchen
    Scenario Type: Brawl.
Gameplay Tips: Hang back from the Chef who will attack the two goons on the far
side with his cleaver. Pick up the FROZEN CHICKEN if you need a
melee weapon. Try kicking your enemies onto the grill for some
                   deep fry action.
Kit is shown dropping down from the trapdoor into the restaurants kitchen. A
cleaver-wielding cook is shown corned by two thugs as two innocent civilians
cower behind him. He says to them: "It's my kitchen, I'm the Boss!
As soon as you gain control be prepared to fight these goons. If you immediately
attack the guy in front of you, you can send him flying onto the burning grill
for some stir-fry action. There is also a FROZEN CHICKEN on the table there that
you can pick up and play Barry Bonds with. The cook will also attack you so be
prepared to also counter and then attack him. As soon as you kill them all a
brief cutscene will show the two innocents running out of the kitchen through a
back door while crying: "It's too bloody!" They are immediately shot dead
outside and collapse on the ground. Kit then charges out, rolls forward and
kicks the hooded shooter in the chest sending him flying backwards. More
gunshots are fired and Kit does a somersault into the alley. And draws his gun.
TIP: GRAB someone and drag them towards either of the two sinks and the prompt
"DUNK" will appear. While still pressing "R1", slap the "R3" stick in the
sinks direction and Kit will hold the guy underwater for a bit.
TIP 2: If you can launch an enemy up onto the grill it will cause an instant
kill. Try it out by attacking the closest assailant immediately as the
           scene begins.

    Scenario Type: Shooting
Gameplay Tips: Observe enemy shooting patterns and then begin shooting before
they pop out to shoot. Enemies do not shoot back while being
shot. Use your environment to hide and prepare your assault.
Don't forget to point "R3" in order to be able to fire. Don't
just tap "R2", keep in pressed for streaming fire. Use your
ADRENALINE DIVE to gain an advantage.
You begin hidden behind some garbage as the first goon runs zig zaggedly towards
you. Shoot him. Move slowly from hiding spot to hiding spot and take these guys
out. They are very predictable and you should not have any serious difficulty
here. Read the Gameplay Tips right above this paragraph for specific hints. When
you get to the far end you'll see a roadblock up ahead with a silver barrel to
the right. There is an Uzi-wielding gunner behind there. Hide by the corner and
observe his pattern. Then simply point and press "L2" to lock on to the silver
barrel and fire to explode it causing the gunman to die as well. (Alternately
you can just start shooting and wait for him to pop up and get leaded. Next go
through the small alleyway on the right and a brief cutscene will kick in
showing Kit discarding his gun and looking up as the Mohawked thug is seen
climbing a scaffolding on the adjacent building. He briefly looks back at you
and motions you to climb after him. Kit then proceeds to climb.
    Location: Rooftop behind billboard.
Scenario Type: Boss Fight "Fei" + "Hung"
Gameplay Tips: Counterattack and block. Attack when ever you see an opening and
volley full force. Don't get caught surrounded. Keep moving.
Kit is shown arriving on the rooftop as per the previous cutscene and the
Mohawked thug is shown waiting there atop a billboard walkway. Suddenly a twin
appears to reveal double trouble for you. The two thugs laugh and jump down and
then perform a quick martial arts routine as they prepare to fight you.
Start out by COUNTERING to get a feel of their attack strategies. When you can,
simply let loose on them and then be prepared to BLOCK or COUNTER some more. The
key is really just to keep moving in order to not get crowded and overwhelmed.
They use a certain tandem attack where they spin each other around for a kick.
This is an easy opening to strike as their move is very predictable. Also watch
out for their flying kick because the second kick is always right behind the
first one's. One they lose approximately 15-20% of their health a brief cutscene
    will kick in.
NOTE: The most that you can deplete their health bar is a just a bit less than
halfway. If you would like to practice your skills you can try to get them
          down that low.
          (Credit: AzN bReAkEr BoI)
Police sirens are heard which immediately ends the fight. The twins say: "Damn,
the police are coming!" and jump back onto the billboard walkway. They turn back
to you and say: "This round we were just warming up, next time you won't be so
lucky." Kit begins to give chase and then stops because his cell phone is
ringing. He pulls it out and says: "Hello?" Kwan or another of Boss Chiang's
bodyguard is heard saying: "We followed your advice, and now we are surrounded!"
Kit replies: "Is Boss Chiang safe?" To this the person on the other end says:
"For now. But I can't guarantee what's next." Kit says: "I'm on my way." As the
    screen fades to black.

The camera pans down from a dusky sky onto an industrial harbor front as a white
mini van is seen racing in. Boss Chiang, Kwan and two other bodyguards are shown
hiding somewhere in there as one of the bodyguards says: "Where the hell is
Yun?" Boss Chiang calmly answers: "He will be here." The other bodyguard quickly
says: "Well, he better make it fast." The camera then quickly zooms out
throughout the entire level to the starting point where Kit rolls out of the
screeching mini van. He stands up and with guns drawn proceeds to enter the

ADRENALINE DIVE to gain an advantage. ADRENALINE Dive from the
top of the dirt heap by the first truck to fly really high.
As you gain control shoot the oncoming thug and call him a sucker. Then proceed
to the next hiding spot ahead and take out the gunman who appears from behind
the column on the left. Another will request being shot right behind this guy.
Keep going and then shoot two more assailants that come out from the left behind
the big steel pipes. Kill another from the right side and continue towards the
truck ahead. Observe the pattern of the gunner behind the truck and then shoot
him as he pops out to shoot. As you get to the truck you will see a dirt heap
right next to it. You can run up and really launch into a high flying ADRENALINE
Dive from it as you target and shoot the EXPLOSIVE CANNISTERS ("L2") by the blue
bulldozer ahead thereby killing several gunmen. Keep "L2" pressed because there
is another explosive barrel just beyond the bulldozer. Shoot the remaining
enemies down by ducking and timing them as you head to the rear.
Now head to the right and you will see a little dock along the water. Follow
this path and be prepared to shoot two more thugs as they drop down in front of
you. Now run up the stairs at the end and get ready to fire some more as goons
start running towards you. Use the environment to hide if you are low on health.
Two more explosive barrels can also be targeted here. Proceed towards the yellow
backhoe and keep taking out the enemy gunmen as they appear. Once beyond it a
brief cutscene will kick in that shows Kit running towards Boss Chiang and
asking: "Boss! Are you ok? There'll be more coming. I'll meet you at the dock."
Kit motions the men away while saying: "Go! Go!"
    Location: Waterfront area (Industrial Harbor)
    Scenario Type: Fighting
Gameplay Tips: Use the fundamental tactics that are repeatedly employed to beat
all of your opponents. Take any weapons you can pick up and use
them to your advantage. Use your ADRENALINE combos to make life
Several thugs show up and surround Kit.
Beat down these thugs by divvying up your hits and using multi directional
combos to keep everyone in check. Use the canisters to smash over someone for
added joy. A few more thugs join the party but sadly their fate will be the same
as you commence a major Jet Li style ass whipping on them. Once they are all
taken care off head over to the little blue bulldozer and a brief cutscene will
show Kit jumping over it into the next area as more thugs arrive. Proceed to
dole out some more punishment and again, take advantage of canisters to beat all
assailants. When you have finished you can continue on to the next area via the
opening next to the yellow machinery.
As you arrive in the next area here about 10 thugs arrive to fight. More of the
same here. COUNTER when needed, use ADRENALINE attacks etc. Once you have
defeated them head to the far side and a brief cutscene will show Kit jumping
through the wooden structure into the next area.
A truck is seen speeding towards Kit who has arrived by Boss Chiang's side. Kit
nudges Chiang out of harms way and then times it so that he jumps off of the
oncoming truck's hood up onto the walkway above which he wall runs to complete.
As he lands the truck is heard exploding just as Kit turns to see a helicopter
rising up behind him. Gunman is seen hanging out of the doorway and says: "There
    he is!!! Follow him!"
    Location: Waterfront area (Industrial Harbor)
    Scenario Type: Evade gunfire
Gameplay Tips: Run fluidly and press "R1" when prompted to JUMP over obstacles.
Immediately after the preceding cutscene run over the little walkway you are on
and head towards the left corner of your screen. (Use the planks for guidance)
As soon as you cross the little walkway head to the center of the screen to JUMP
(R1) over the wooden plank that blocks your path. Keep running stick to your
left again to cross the next little bridge like walkway and then over the cement
bags ahead. Stay to your left over another little walkway and then JUMP over the
small barrels next to the big barrels. (It is a diagonal jump so approach it
correctly to get prompted) A brief cutscene will then kick in showing Kit
outrunning the bullets and quickly rolling behind some cover as the chopper
    flies by.

    Scenario Type: Fight
Gameplay Tips: See previous gameplay tactics required for fighting multiple
As soon as you gain control run up and hide(R1) by the green tarp-covered cement
bags to avoid being shot. The chopper will now fly away. Next JUMP to climb up
onto the scaffolding on your left and then drop down on the far side for yet
another fight. At first it will be just be one thug but two reinforcements soon
come to make the appointment more enjoyable for you. As you continue eradicating
these guys a few more show up but really, this is a pretty pathetic display of
aggression. Send these punks back to mama!
As soon as the last of them is defeated a brief cutscene kicks in showing the
passing chopper as the gunman screams: "Shoot! Shoot!" You are then quickly
shown the next path through a quick zooming of the camera.
As you gain control again, JUMP up onto the brown wooden box and then JUMP up
again on the white cloth covered scaffolding and make your way along the path to
the overhead diagonal wire. Press "R1" to trigger a quick cutscene depicting you
sliding down as the chopper flies towards you and the gunman says: "There! He's
    sliding down that wire!"
As soon as you land run for your life as the bullets are right on your tail.
Avoid the barrel obstacles and quickly turn right up the stairs and hide (R1)
behind the green tarp-covered cement bags to avoid being shot. As soon as the
chopper flies away continue to the back and JUMP up the scaffolding structure to
the top and follow the wooden walkway to the end and slide down the cement
slide. JUMP over the small wooden barriers at the bottom and then over the
reddish box lastly climb over the bigger box into the next area where two more
    goons await.
Kill them and then kill the next two that appear. Be careful not to allow
yourself to get cornered because the space here is relatively limited.
COUNTERING works well to avoid this. Three more thugs arrive afterwards and
require beatings as well. Once they too have been defeated a brief cutscene
    kicks in.
A decent sized thug in red shirt, shoulder gun holsters and shades is shown
dropping down from the scaffolding above. He briefly looks at you as though
ready to fight and then suddenly runs and kicks down a piece of wooden fence and
finally jumps back and forth up to the higher level.
As you regain control simply follow the thug and then JUMP back and forth
between the walls to get to the top. (Timing is crucial as otherwise you fall
back down again) Once up top, follow the walkway until you are prompted to JUMP
up onto the overhead pole. Now simply climb along it to the other side and then
jump down again and slide down the cement slide into the next area. Once below
run and JUMP over the wooden obstacle in your path and then climb up onto the
scaffolding again in the back. You will hear the chopper again so be prepared to
run once you bend the corner up top as the gunman starts firing while saying:
"There he is!" Another guy in the chopper says: "But Boss. Some of our guys are
down there!" The reply is: "I don't care, just get him!"
While you run for your life two thugs climb up behind you and get shot in the
hail of bullets as you drop down to the lower level of the scaffolding safe from
fire. You are immediately assaulted by a thug with a hooked stick so quickly
COUNTER and volley off some blows. A second thug will quickly join the fight so
make sure you prioritize and take them out quickly to avoid being beaten with a
sharp stick. Kill yet another thug or two who climb up, or knock them over for
added spectacle and then continue along and climb up on the other end. (Sadly
you must leave your melee weapon behind)
Follow the walkway and then drop down till back on solid ground and a brief
cutscene will kick in showing the thug you just chased approaching you as he
    says: "Let's see who's better."
    |SUB BOSS BATTLE: Long Pony-Tailed Thug|
Start off by COUNTERING his attack, which will momentarily stun him. Immediately
follow up with an ADRENALINE or regular combo. Beware of his combination as it
is quite long and a mistimed block could mean several hits received. COUNTERING
will easily win this fight though. Once he is defeated head to the back and Kit
will swing through an opening in the scaffolding structure to the next area.
Immediately climb up the walkway and JUMP over the cement pipe as the Chopper
fires and you hear the man say: "I see him! Over there!" Run and JUMP over the
next cement pipe and up onto the next walkway and then JUMP over the next wooden
obstacle and keep running until you see the green tarp-covered cement bags
behind which you can hide safely. As the chopper stops firing, run around the
corner and a cutscene will kick in showing Kit outrunning the bullets as a thugs
appears with two Uzi's. Kit dives and knocks and grabs the guns from the
assailants hands and then quickly rolls and opens fire at the chopper causing it
to crash in a fiery explosion.

Boss Chiang and guards are seen walking towards the boat as Kit arrives. Kit
notices a silenced gunshot from the clock tower in the distance and immediately
figures out that a sniper has just shot and missed. He quickly yells over to
Boss Chiang: "Get down!" just as another shot is fired but he is too late. Boss
Chiang has taken a bullet and collapses amongst his bodyguards. Kit runs over to
them. Once there, Boss Chiang gives Kit an envelope and says: "Take this
envelope to my daughter...tell her I tried, but I failed her again...tell her
she was always in my heart..." He then dies and Kwan looks over and asks: "He's
dead? What did he give you?" Kit simply responds: "It's not for you." Kwan
angrily retorts: "The old man's dead. I'm the boss now! Give me that envelope!"
He pokes his gun right into Kit's chest and the two stare down momentarily as
sirens are heard approaching. Kit says: "Get to the boat Kwan. I'll stay with
the boss." With this Kwan and the two bodyguards walk off towards the boat and
    the screen fades to black.
Kit is next shown hanging up a pay phone and then leaning up against the wall as
he pulls a wooden bead necklace out of his pocket and begins to daydream about
the past. This daydream is shown in black and white as Kit is seen kneeling in
front of his father's grave as Boss Chiang walks up to him with an umbrella in
hand for shelter from the rain. Chiang says: "You were just a child when he
died. You didn't get to know him. He was a great man and a strong leader. He
would not have made the mistakes I have." With that Chiang holds up the wooden
bead necklace as Kit asks: "My father's?" Chiang continues: "He gave them to me
the night he was killed. He would want you to have them. You've become a fine
man. It's comforting to have you back in Hong Kong after all these years." Kit
bends down again and raises the necklace in prayer like fashion towards his
father's grave and then rises and says: "I've been told Michelle is in the
United States." Chiang responds: "I have not heard from her in a very long
while. She's in San Francisco, as far away as she can get. She blames me..this
life..for her mother's death. Maybe she's right. I've allowed the young and
dangerous to lead me astray." He pats Kit on the shoulder and says: "Don't let
yourself become another casualty of this life." They then both stare again at
the grave and the screen fades out.
The next scene shows a car pulling up and almost blinding Kit with the
headlights. As the car parks, Kit sees his Boss get out from the Hong Kong
police department. Lt. Victor Lau walks over to Kit and says: "Instead of
getting closer to Kwan, you continue to antagonize him. You heard him over the
wire, he's crazy! He'll never let anyone get close to him." Kit then slams the
voice recorder onto the hood of the car while saying: ??? Victor looks up and
says: "We can't give up, now more than ever you have to...I know you have grown
close to him. But remember why you became a cop, to stop the killing. You think
that ends with Chiang's death? It didn't end with your father. Kwan is much more
ruthless than Chiang, a new breed." Kit responds: "I need some time." Lt.
Victor Lau immediately retorts: "Time? We don't have time! I need you to see
what Kwan's first move is going to be. He's been waiting for this a long time."
Kit shakes his head slightly and then throws his badge over to Lt. Lau who
catches it and then quickly tries to play nice by changing his tone. He then
says: "Kit! Alright look, it's been a long night, get some rest. Call me from
here tomorrow at 3pm. We'll talk then." Kit simply shrugs Lau's arm off and
    walks away.
The next day (apparently) Kit is shown dialing a number on a payphone. Lau
answers: "Kit? Where are you?" Kit responds: "There is some business I need to
take care of." Lau repeats: "Where are you?" To this Kit simply replies: "I'll
call you when I get back" and hangs up the phone as Lau can be heard saying:
"Kit?" Kit pauses momentarily and then pulls back to reveal the Golden Gate
bridge of San Francisco in the background. San Francisco, California - United
States is then shown onscreen before the scene fades to black.
Kit is shown wandering the streets asking questions regarding Michelle's

    Location: Lobby of Fancy building
    Scenario Type: Fight
Gameplay Tips: Use fluid attacks and share the blows evenly to keep these
bodyguards off guard. COUNTERS and ADRENALINE attacks work great
here too. Lastly, use the space in the room to your advantage by
moving around. You can also GRAB and smash their heads into the
little glass statues in the center.
Kit enters the lobby of the building shown at the very end of the previous
cutscene. He approaches the two huge looking bouncers that are guarding the
elevator and asks: "Is this the way up to the club?" The bouncer replies: "It is
if you're on the guest list." Kit says: "I'm looking for a friend. I'll just be
a minute." He reaches for the call button when the bouncer slaps his hand out of
the way and snarls: "If you're not on the list you're not going up!" The other
bouncer adds: "Throw him out! The hard way!"
As you gain control prepare to COUNTER and attack. These guys, although big can
easily be dispatched by simply COUNTERING and also grabbing them and smashing
there heads into those glass decorations in the lobby. Once they have been
killed simply enter the elevator door to be brought to the next area upstairs.
A thug in a white suit with a purple shirt is shown cracking his knuckles. He
approaches Chi (See CHARACTER SECTION for more) who is being restrained by two
other goons. He says: "You're losing streak never ends, Chi. It's time to quit
and pay up." Chi responds in a very Jackie-Chan like way: "My money is in my

Location: Estros Bar (Top of Fancy Building)
    Scenario Type: Brawl/Outlast
Gameplay Tips: Divvy up your blows to keep multiple enemies off guard. Break the
chairs to find useful CHAIR LEGS for administering quick damage.
Use your COUNTERS and ADRENALINE Attacks. Avoid being hit by
The bottles that Chi throws from behind the bar. You can
also GRAB and drag guys across the bar top if you GRAB and lead
them to any of the bar corners.
Kit is shown at the far end of a hallway leading to the bar. As he enters he
looks around at the scene when suddenly Chi comes crashing through the glass
roof right in front of Kit who says: "I thought I might find you here." Chi
says: "Kit, is that you?" Just then the thugs who were beating Kit make it down
and one of them says to Chi: "I'm going to tear you apart little man!" As he
lunges forward Kit sends him reeling with a swooping kick. Four goons now
surround Kit as Chi slithers behind the bar and says: "I'll be back here if you
    need me!"
You begin as soon as the cutscene ends and must now defeat these thugs in usual
Jet Li "I'm-gonna-make-it-hurt" fashion. Use chairs as weapons and then pick up
the CHAIR LEGS as you find them on the ground. Unleash the pain by grabbing
enemies and dragging them across the bar counter to their demise. More thugs
quickly join the fight. Keep sharing blows and don't get cornered. Also,
COUNTERING between to enemies who simultaneously strike here will treat you to
some slow motion head bashing animations. All of these enemies are susceptible
    to GRABS.
As the second batch of baddies are offed a brief cutscene will show a big dude
running in with a baseball bat in hand. Hopefully you picked up the sticks
before. If not simply COUNTER and attack or GRAB. Either way, once he is dead,
three more large well-dressed bouncers will enter. Same deal, punish them. As
you fight another guy in a white suit will join the fight. Unleashing a well
timed ADRENALINE attack while holding two weapons will send Kit tornadoeing
around the enemies with bone crushing results. Once they are defeated a cutscene
    will kick in.
TIP: If you COUNTER while two enemies run at you at the exact same time you can
perform a DOUBLE INSTANT KILL COUNTER. If they charge from your front it
will trigger a Double Head Butt and if they charge from the sides it'll
trigger a punch and kick in the air.

TIP 2: GRAB an enemy and bring him to any of the four corners of the bar to
           trigger the DRAG prompt.
Kit looks out the window at the view as Chi saunters over and asks: "Kit, what
are you doing here?" Kit gives him a high five and answers: "Looking for you, I

drowning him as well by grabbing and pressing down on the R3
stick. COUNTER, COUNTER, COUNTER. Adrenaline attacks work well
                   only while stunned.
Kit and Chi are sent crashing through the glass window and end up in a shallow
pool outside of the bar. Chi asks while getting up: "Where did he come from?"
With that a strong and looking barkeep steps outside and says: "You trashed my

    |BOSS FIGHT: CHEUNG MO PAO (Drunken Barkeep)|
The key to this fight is relatively simple. COUNTER his attacks and then
immediately return the favor when you see an opening. Try GRABBING him while he
is momentarily stunned and press down on the R3 stick to drown him. Keep your
distance while he does his drunken master dance and wait for him to come at you
and then COUNTER him some more. Now when he grabs you and tries to drown you,
quickly slap both analog sticks like mad and you'll break free without the
momentary pause while vomiting water.(If you successfully break free from his
drowning you can quickly unload combos on him) Also stay clear while he gets up
after being knocked down as his kick will trip you up. Follow these rules and
your off to the next stage in no time. Once he is dead a brief cutscene kicks
Kit and Chi are shown as they stand over the dead body. Kit says: "I see you
haven't changed. Let's get out of here." Kit responds: "Yeah. So, you need my
help? Kit answers while they walk back: "I need to find Michelle."
Location: Elevator + Lobby (Fancy office building)
    Scenario Type: Survival/Brawl
Gameplay Tips: Use your COUNTERS and ADRENALINE attacks while unleashing blows.
He likes to grab and smash your head into the mirrors so keep
trying to circle him while beating on him. In the brawl
downstairs, spread your blows around and quickly pick up weapons
as they are dropped by enemy thugs. Use your ADRENALINE attack
when armed with two weapons to tornado around and swat goons
silly. Keep moving and use the room to your advantage.
As Kit and Chi enter the elevator, Chi is suddenly yanked out by a big bodyguard
in a blue suit who then takes his place. The doors close as he readies for
action and says: "Let's see how you handle a real fighter." Kit assumes the
position to pass the wushu to the man with twoshoe. :)
As mentioned in the cutscene, you begin this fight while stuck in a mirrored
elevator with a very big bouncer. Immediately pound this guy with a combo or
two. Be careful to pick your shots well because if you miss the target he will
counter and slam you face first into the mirrors. COUNTERS ALWAYS WORK and set
up other opportunities. Try to flow in the battle and you'll defeat him with
The elevator doors open and Kit sees a second big bodyguard waiting with two
thugs. Add to the fact that they are armed with Baseball bats and you know
you're in for a treat. Kit walks towards them as the bouncer orders: "Get him"
    to the thugs.
Use this room to your advantage. This is the same lobby where you fought the
first two bodyguards, only darker. The concept is very simple here. Aim to fight
fluidly by constantly staying on the move and sharing your blows around evenly.
This is a test of survival. COUNTERS work also although you have to be very
precise to avoid get clocked from behind by a baseball bat. Once your ADRENALINE
meter is flashing, unleash the fury and quickly pick up the weapon. Now simply
teach the remaining threat a lesson in what happens when you stop Jet Li from
    going where he wants.
Three more thugs with nightsticks show up as soon as the last one bites it. Now
that you have two weapons you simply have to share the wealth around and fill
your ADRENALINE meter to unleash a tornado like move where Kit spirals and
swings his bats around. These guys are no match.
As they perish three more thugs arrive. The big bodyguard is wielding two spiked
clubs. Pay your attention to him but be quick to hit the other two as approach.
Use COUNTERS if needed and continue methodically breaking their will. Once these
three are dead the cutscene takes over.
Another elevator arrives and Chi comes out saying: "You need help with these
goons?" He looks around at all the bodies and continues: "Oh...I see you got it
covered." As they start to walk away from the building Chi asks: "Why are you
looking for Michelle?" Kit answers: "Her father's been assassinated."
    Location: Michelle's Apartment Building
    Scenario Type: CUTSCENE ONLY!!
    Gameplay Tips: N/A
The back of Boss Chiang's leather chair is then shown as Kwan is heard talking
on the phone: "Then tear the city apart! Either the girl or Yun have it. I need
to find out what's in that envelope. Chiang's advisors don't seem to know
anything about it." With that he turns around and asks: "Isn't that right,
gentlemen?" As the camera pans back you see three dead advisors lying in a heap
    in front of the desk.
The camera next views an ajar door as Kit and Chi arrive in the hallway of a
building and Kit overhears a thug saying: "Don't worry Kwan. Looks like our
girl's being honored at the Metreon in a half hour. Kit wonders aloud:
"Metreon?" as Chi says: "I'll show you. Come on. We'll pick her up there." As
Chi turns to leave his elbow knocks a flower vase off the shelf, which alarms
the thug in the room who says: "What was that? Check it out!" Kit and Chi make a
dash for the elevator and are quickly pursued by goons. Kit says: "Go! Go!" to
Chi as the elevator arrives and then turns and performs a running wall kick to
knock down a gun-toting thug. Chi as the elevator doors are closing: "Be
careful, Kit!" Kit then scrambles around for an exit but is being approached
from every hallway and eventually runs and chest kicks a thug right through the
window. The thug falls several stories to the pavement below and Kit catches
himself safely by grabbing the balcony railing. He then hangdrops one flight at
a time until safely on the street again. Kit takes the two handguns from the
dead thug and runs into the adjacent alley.
Location: Alley next to Michelle's Apartment Building
    Scenario Type: Shoot
Gameplay Tips: Use the cover you have and move from hiding spot to hiding spot
as you progress. Try to share your stream of fire with multiple
gunmen simultaneously to keep them from being able to return fire
as you light them up. Use the L2 button to target scooters, signs
                   etc for added fun.
Kit walks into the alley early in morning.
Several thugs are running towards you from the far end of the alley and some are
firing. Immediately walk forward and shoot. Press L2 to target the red scooter
by the railing ahead and when the first gunmen are near it, blow it up. Keep
moving and shooting and then take your position by hiding at the planter on your
left. There is a gunman right behind the next planter and several more ahead.
Take a moment to note the pattern and then anticipate and shoot them as they
come out to shoot. You will always be quicker than them this way. Move on and do
the same to the two remaining gunmen at the end. (L2 can target the sign above
    the stairs on the right)
As you turn right at the corner, take cover behind the green "bulletproof"
plastic garbage can and then shoot the first approaching thug. Next time the
pattern of the guy behind the far planter on the left and take him out before he
fires. Also shoot the guy on the left corner as well. Now quickly run and hide
behind the next garbage can on the left and then quickly shoot the three thugs
while the Uzi-wielding thug is down. You can also target the white scooter as
well as the sign above the Uzi-wielding thug. Next anticipate the Uzi gunman and
be waiting for him as he pops up. Once he's dead continue and turn left at the
As you go up the stairs three gunmen arrive just ahead of you and begin
shooting. I recommend backtracking to the white fish boxes by the dead Uzi
gunman and then timing them rather than running in Gung-Ho style. (Both ways
work though and if you run up the stairs shooting, you can easily target the
sign above the gunman on the left) Now hide behind the green garbage can and
shoot the two gunmen at the far end. As you get to the fountain start shooting
as a gunman comes running around the corner. You can also target the blue
scooter but it doesn't always kill him.
Use your ADRENALINE dive by pressing L1 and fly and shoot the three thugs around
the corner. Also shoot the gunman ahead who is running towards you. Keep
shooting as another will appear ahead from behind a corner. You can target the
sign on the upper left above the planter. Now use the alcoves on the left to
slowly make your way down the alley while timing and shooting the baitfish. Get
behind the planter and note the Uzi-wielding gunner up ahead. Shoot all of the
other thugs while he is down and then time him or target the sign above him
right before he rises. (You can also target the white scooter on the right but
should then take cover on the left alcoves ahead) Once he is dead a cutscene
    kicks in.
    Location: Hmmmm?
    Scenario Type: Shooting
Gameplay Tips: Same as previous mission. Time your enemies and shoot them as the
pop out. Target objects whenever possible. Use the ADRENALINE
dive to get an advantage around corners.
Kit is stealthily moving through a dark part of the alley when he hears two
goons taking around the corner. One thug says: "Sounds like this Kit guy caused
the boys on the street some major trouble." The camera then pans out to show the
two thugs hanging out as the other guy replies: "They're incompetent. Billy sent
us... With that, Kit then ADRENALINE dives around the corner and blows both men
away in spectacular fashion. Kit gets up and looks at the two dead men as the
    screen fades to black.
As you gain control hide against the wall on the left. Now quickly run and hide
behind the garbage pile on the left. And then shoot the thug behind the shed on
the right. Now hide behind the shed and take out the shooters at the far end.
Just stay by the shed and fire as a few thugs start running at you foolishly
with a hunger for some leaded nourishment. You can also target the exploding
canister by the dumpster ahead. Now quickly run and hide behind the green
garbage cans on the left and then time the Uzi-gunner or target the sign above
him just before he pops out. Next hide behind the dumpster and also shoot the
three remaining thugs at the end and running out from around the corner.
Your ADRENALINE meter must be flashing at this point and I would use it as you
dive around the corner and blast two thugs to St. Peter. Three more thugs appear
at the end but can easily be simultaneously dispatched. Hide behind the burning
pile of garbage if you have trouble getting the gunman who pops out from behind
    the right corner.
ADRENALINE dive again and shoot whomever you see around the corner and quickly
hide behind the green garbage can on the left. Shoot the three thugs ahead and
take note of the Uzi-wielding gunman under the fire escape ahead. Move to the
garbage pile on the right and then time him or target the fire escape and kill
him. (there is also an exploding canister but it won't reach the gunman) Another
gunman rolls out from the left too as you get to the white dumpster.
Go around the corner peacefully and then take your position behind the garbage
pile on the left. There are four gunmen at the far end. One of them has an Uzi
so let his timing be the most important as you eradicate the other three. The
fire escape can be targeted above him for an easy kill as you run up. Another
one or two goons runs out from behind the corner but should be easy to handle by
Hide by the corner on the right and notice the three gunmen immediately ahead. I
would ADRENALINE dive and take them out or you could hide behind the garbage
pile and time them. Once they are dead hurry over to the silver garbage cans and
take cover again. Two gunmen up ahead are seen scrambling around and a third
pops out from the right. Shoot them and you'll notice another Uzi-wielding
gunman way at the far end. Hurry over and take cover behind the car and then
quickly behind the green garbage can on the left ahead. The Uzi gunman will now
run towards you but then bank off and take cover behind the truck on the left.
Another one covers him from behind the far corner. Easily time the one behind
the truck but be quicker than the far one so as not to get caught greedily. Take
out the remaining Uzi gunman from either hiding spot ahead and continue running
down the alley until the cutscene kicks in showing Kit firing a few last shots
back into the alley, catching his breath and then running away.
Location: Alley way leading to food court
    Scenario Type: Fight
Gameplay Tips: COUNTER the smaller guys to see a cool move. Divvy blows
accordingly. Don't try to grab the bigger men. Stick and move.
Kit is shown walking away from the alley as he turns back to see and SUV racing
at him full speed. He quickly runs away while shooting backwards and causes the
driver to crash just before impact. As Kit rolls to his feet a smoldering tire
rolls past. Kit stands up and throws his weapons to the ground. The driver of
the SUV then jumps out and climbs onto the roof of his car and stares Kit down.
The camera then zooms back to show three more oversized thugs surrounding Kit as
the Driver drops down and walks up.
As you gain control share blows around. COUNTER the big guy with the gun
holsters as well as the driver in the gray jump suit. Grabbing here makes for
some nice wrist bending, followed with a heel to the upper back but don't try it
on the big guys as they will smash you into walls instead. You can also take
advantage of ADRENALINE attacks but that should pretty much be standard by now.
Once the four thugs are dead a quick cutscene takes over.
    Location: Food Court
    Scenario Type: Fight/Brawl
Gameplay Tips: COUNTER and attack incessantly. Use chairs to your advantage.
ADRENALINE attacks always help out. Be aggressive.
Kit looks around at the area in the food court as a big bald guy calmly sits
with his feet up in the back. He then gets up and walks over towards Kit to
    |SUB BOSS FIGHT: Cap-Wearing Man at Food Court|
As you gain control start unloading some combos. COUNTER his attacks and be
offensive minded. Don't stand idly by and let him grab you because he'll pick
you up and throw you into the tables and other surrounding stuff. His other
predominant move is a three-punch combo. Use your ADRENALINE combos and pick up
chairs to smash him with. Just keep throwing him a beating and he will soon
die. A brief cutscene shows Kit looking up and seeing countless thugs on the
    surrounding balcony above.
Six thugs drop down and attack. Immediately start divvying up blows to the
nearest group and COUNTER your enemies. As thugs die more jump in for a total
somewhere around 12 or so. Once they are defeated another cutscene kicks in.
Kit is shown running and then jumping over the crashed SUV and running out of
the alley towards the main street. He pauses briefly to look back and then runs
again as a blue van gives chase.
    Location: Main Street
    Scenario Type: CUTSCENE ONLY!!
    Gameplay Tips: N/A
Kit runs right into the street and immediately rolls out of the path of a school
bus, which crashes, into the pursuing van. Kit then immediately does another
jumping roll off of another car and is sent flying towards a truck behind but
manages to catch the truck's side view mirror and escape injury. The white car
also ends up crashing into the school bus, which now blocks the entire street.
Also a smaller blue pickup truck crashes into an electric pole while narrowly
avoiding Kit on the side of the truck. As kit stands up he looks at the electric
pole, which starts to topple and casually steps out of harms way as it comes
    crashing down.
    Location: Main Street (Accident Scene)
    Scenario Type: Fight/Brawl
Gameplay Tips: COUNTER and ADRENALINE attack. JUMP kick off the bus when
surrounded to knock multiple enemies down. Divvy your blows and
keep moving to avoid being crowded. Don't get crowded in corners.
A thug in a green jacket jumps into the ring of crashed vehicles with fist high.
Defeat the first goon with an opening combo and immediately get to work on the
guy who jumps in on the right with his red tank top. Another goon then quickly
comes up from behind who you should COUNTER and attack. This goes one until two
jump in and deserve the same treatment. (The thugs in the bus are no threat to
you) All of them are relatively weak except for the ones with the shiny brown or
black jackets and ski caps. (They are more powerful) Use your ADRENALINE attack
when they start screaming: "Surround him" as they will swarm. Otherwise just
keep moving and sharing blows around. Don't get stuck in any of the four corners
here because it will be difficult to beat them all off without taking excessive
hits yourself. In total you will have to defeat around 20 or so guys. Once the
last one dies a cutscene shows Kit jumping over one of the wrecked cars and out
    of the area.
    Location: Tunnel entrance (Outdoors)
    Scenario Type: Battle/Survive
Gameplay Tips: COUNTER all bikers in order to knock them down. Divvy blows
accordingly but focus mainly on the bikers. Hang back to have as
much room between you and the oncoming bikers. If they get back
on their bikes just COUNTER them again.
Kit stops running and listens to motorcycle engines revving in the distance he
continues on toward the entrance of a tunnel that is completely blocked off with
vehicles. Several motor bikers are shown revving their engines in the tunnel as
Kit approaches. The first biker jumps over one of the cars and races towards Kit
who goes into a defensive stance.
As soon as you gain control COUNTER both bikers, which will cause Kit to perform
a flying kick. Quickly attack and kill the stunned bikers. (Get used to this)
Two more bikers and a running thug will now come. Again COUNTER each biker and
let that be the most important action for the entirety of this scene. Even if
the biker's get back on to their bike for another go it's better than you
chasing him down and getting hit by his buddy. Often times to can cause the
COUNTERED biker to also knock down running thugs. When no bikes are charging
quickly divvy blows and try to stay as far back on the screen as possible. My
strategy was simply to hang back, COUNTER, go up and attack, and then hang back
again. When a runner was going to get to me before the biker I would throw two
punches and then COUNTER the biker. As with the last fight, the thugs with the
shiny jackets and ski caps are the strongest ones. In total you will defeat 17
bikers and about 14 or so thugs. Once the last one dies its cutscene time.
TIP: Head over to the truck at the right side of the tunnel entrance only when
Kit is low on ADRENALINE and there is NO running thug around for Kit to
Have to fight. Now JUMP against the back of the truck to refill the
ADRENALINE bar. Although the bikers can seldom hit Kit there, the running
thugs can and simply staying there will not help Kit clear this chapter.

Kit runs toward an approaching yellow cab with Chi hanging out of the back
window saying: "Kit. There you are. Get in." Kit jumps in as the cab speeds away
As Chi goes on: "So when was the last time you saw Michelle?" Kit answers: "Not
since my mother and I left Hong Kong."
    Location: Cab Ride (Daydream)
    Scenario Type: CUTSCENE ONLY!!
    Gameplay Tips: N/A
Kit daydreams back to being in front of his father's grave with Michelle and Chi
when they were younger. Young Chi says: "Well she's not that girl in pigtails
anymore." Young Michelle adds: "His mom's moving him away so I won't beat him up
anymore." She then playfully lunges a fist towards young Kit who dodges it and
she ends up punching Chi instead. Chi whimpers and says: "Ow! Who's going to
protect me from the bullies?" Young Kit smiles and says: "We'll be together
again. It's a long life". Young Chi then holds his hand out and both young
Michelle and young Kit place their hands on top as the bond and say: "Ho hing
dai." Kit suddenly snaps out of his daydream as Chi calls his name.
NOTE: "Ho hing dai" means "Good Friend(s)". Presumably a chant implying friends
          for life.

    Location: Metreon Building
    Scenario Type: CUTSCENE ONLY!!
    Gameplay Tips: N/A
Directly continued from the previous cutscene Kit walks up toward Chi who is
already at the Metreon's front door calling: "Kit. Kit. Check this out!" As Kit
walks up he sees Chi standing in front of a Community service poster honoring
Michelle. Chi points at the poster and says: "Hey. She's gotta be here
somewhere." Chi then presses his ear against the door as fists are heard flying
inside. Kit responds: "Sounds like they got here first. You go around to the
party and find Michelle. I'll check inside." Chi says: "Ok." And walks off as
    Kit enters the front doors.
As Kit stealthily enters the building a thug is heard talking on a cell phone as
the building security is being knocked out and replaced by impostors. He says
into the phone: "Uh huh...No problem...I'll take care of it. We have this place
covered inside and out." Kit is hiding behind a pillar listening in as the goon
continues: "We even have our guys dressed as security guards". After a brief
pause the goon replies: "Don't worry Boss, we'll find her and take care of this
Kit Yun also. Just then Kit taps the goon on the shoulder and then quickly takes
him out as he begins to turn and then drags him out of view.
NOTE: The Metreon building actually exists in San Francisco and is owned by
Sony. Amazingly the launch party for Rise to Honor was held there too.
    Location: Metreon Interior Lobby
    Scenario Type: Stealth/Subdue Guards
Gameplay Tips: Move slowly from hiding spot to hiding spot. Observe your enemies
patterns. Wait patiently for your opportunity and then strike
like a snake. Whenever you are forced to deal with two at a time
there is a canister to hit the first one with as you quickly
knock the second one out. For the guards with the flickering
flashlights, attack as soon as the light starts to flicker.
As soon as the gameplay begins stay hidden (R1) behind the pillar and observe
the guard who is walking towards you. As soon as he turns again to walk back,
come up behind him and simply strike one to render him unconscious. Continue
along the path until you see another guard stationed ahead who simply turns left
to right. Analyze his pattern and simply sneak up behind him to take him out
with ease. (They don't hear you creeping up behind them) Now continue straight
ahead towards the next guard and then hide on the left side by the railing. Wait
for him to walk up and scan left to right a few times and then as he begins his
walk back, sneak up and take him out. Continue on and head up the few steps on
your left and immediately hide behind the pillar on the left and observe the
stationary guard here. As he turns to his left, quickly sneak around behind him
and knock him out. Continue heading past him towards the rear until you see the
soda machines at the far wall. Slowly make your way over there and use the
canister there to throw and knock the stationed guard there out. (He'll whistle
to himself as you draw near)
The camera then briefly pans through the next area filled with guards and then
as you gain control simply head for the far left wall and sneak along it towards
the two stationed guards. Pick up the canister and then throw it at one on the
left while quickly charging the other guard to knock him out. (First he'll be
alerted, then he'll quickly look for you - Use the few seconds to quickly subdue
him) A short distance later another guard is stationed. Simply stay just out of
his flashlight's reach and as soon as it starts to sputter, charge and take him
out. Forget about the stationed guard facing you ahead and go down the steps and
hide at the bottom left little wall. Observe this patrolling guard carefully as
he will do a double take before really walking away. When he marches away, sneak
up and introduce him to sleepy time. Just ahead to your right is another guard
who patrols and does a double take. Use the nearby canister to take him out and
then head up the few steps again to take out the last two guards up there by
simply timing their movements as well. (The civilian chicks outside on the
    balcony will never notice you)
The camera then briefly shows two guards blocking a hallway before giving you
control again. Notice that the guard on the right scans much slower than the one
on the left. Hide by the lamp on the left and time it so that you can sneak past
them on the left. Once behind them use the canister to take one out while you
quickly take out the second one. (If you want you can listen to their brief
conversation before you take them out) Next head to the right and hide on the
right side near the stationed guard. Simply time his movements so as to be able
to sneak past him and then safely dispatch him from behind. You will see two
more guards stationed side by side up ahead. Jump over the lobby front desk on
the left and safely get past them before jumping over again and using the
canister there to take one out while you take out the other. Now jump over the
partition rope and hide by the pillar next to the long hallway and observe the
patrolling guards habits. As soon as he turns to walk, sneak up and remove him
    from the payroll.
Another brief camera sequence shows two guards patrolling side by side. As you
regain control, walk in the direction the camera panned from and then take up
your hiding position on the right corner where the guards stop and turn. Use the
canister to knock out the one on the left and quickly dispatch the other one. A
brief cinematic shows a guard up on the escalator walking down and then
stationing himself at the foot. Simply stay just out of his flashlight's range
and as it begins to flicker, move in for the kill. (Make sure you get close
enough as the collision detection is a little odd in this instance) Kit is then
shown walking up the escalator as Michelle's voice is heard fighting upstairs.
He quickly runs up the escalator and then looks around.
NOTE: You can also GRAB guards by pressing "R1" and once you release the button
Kit will chop him with both hands knocking him unconscious. Kit also
covers their mouth while you GRAB them so that they cannot alert other
          guards to your presence.
    | CHAPTER 31: GET TO HER |
    Location: Upper Level (Metreon Building)
    Scenario Type: Fight/Pursue
Gameplay Tips: Keep an eye on Michelle's Health bar and try to defeat your
enemies as quickly as possible. Share blows around by always
hitting the nearest aggressor and then immediately switching to
the next nearest. Smash heads with the few garbage canisters you
find along the way. Don't waste time trying to GRAB too much
because you will be vulnerable to attack if you miss. Stop only
                   to fight.
A voluptuous Michelle is seen acrobatically beating two goons with beautiful
martial form. As they fall down she looks over at Kit who just ran up the
escalator but doesn't recognize him after all these years. She quickly begins
running away along the long walkways that surround this floor. The two goons get
to their feet and give chase.
As soon as you gain control, begin giving chase by running along the walkway. A
brief cinematic shows Kit getting surrounded by three thugs. Quickly dispose of
them by sharing your beating accordingly and also kill the three reinforcements
that join in as the first group dies. Once you have defeated them you will see
Michelle fending off two thugs up ahead. Continue towards Michelle until you are
surrounded yet again and quickly kill these 8 or so goons as well. (Keep your
eye on Michelle's health bar - The faster you kill these guys, the better) Use
your ADRENALINE attacks whenever possible to speed up the process. A brief
cinematic will show that Michelle is still fighting off the goons at the end of
the walkway and runs off as you arrive and the thugs turn their attention
    towards you.
As soon as you gain control quickly attack the four thugs who surround you by
sharing blows in all directions to keep them off guard. You can pick up and
smash their heads with the GARBAGE CANNISTERS on either side for added
humiliation to their demise. A few more arrive as the brawl progresses and then
a brief cinematic will show Michelle watching from around the corner as two dead
thugs lie on the ground. As you gain control again, quickly give chase until the
    cutscene kicks in.
Michelle is shown gasping for breath as Kit comes running around the corner. She
quickly continues running for her life as he calls out: "Michelle!" She keeps
    running and he continues chasing.
    Location: Upper Level (Metreon Building)
    Scenario Type: Fight/Pursue
Gameplay Tips: Don't waste time because you must get close to her to finally get
her to jump over the final railing to where she is cornered. When
the guards jump out at you, quickly strike them and keep running
after her. In the area with where you must JUMP repeatedly
through the scaffolding type obstacle, stay in the center to
trigger the JUMP prompts. JUMP over the fallen boxes instead of
running around them to make up ground.
As a direct continuation of the previous cutscene, Kit is shown chasing Michelle
as she repeatedly jumps through some sort of scaffolding-like type of obstacle.
Kit swings through the first bar as he gives chase.
As you gain control be prepared to JUMP 5 times in quick succession in order to
clear the obstacle and continue giving chase. Michelle says: "What do you want?"
as she continues running away. She runs past a stack of boxes she knocks them
over so as to delay you even more. Right then from behind the right corner as
you pursue, a guard jumps out with a kick that will most likely floor you.
Another guard can be seen ahead running after Michelle up ahead. Quickly get up
and unload a combo on the enemy and immediately continue giving chase by JUMPING
over the fallen boxes and again over the 'Caution: Slippery Floor' barricade. A
guard is waiting at the beginning of the walkway ahead.
Dispose of him with one attack and then JUMP over the metal shelving that blocks
the walkway and continue giving chase. As you approach the far end of the
walkway, two more guards charge out towards you. Quickly attack them and just
keep running after her. Around another corner she will say: "Go away!" and
simultaneously knock over another stack of boxes. JUMP over these boxes instead
of running around the right side so as to make up a little ground and keep after
her. Now go through the same scaffolding-like type of obstacle again by
repeatedly JUMPING (Stay centered to trigger prompts) and keep chasing Michelle.
Once you have cleared the obstacle Michelle will jump over the railing to the
left and run along the rafter to the other side. Follow suit and now just keep
on her tail as she runs across the rafters a few more times before finally
giving up and stopping. The cutscene then takes over.
SHORTCUT TIP: As soon as you clear the initial scaffolding obstacle, immediately
JUMP over the railing onto the second beam on your left. Now
simply run across to the far side and then wait for Michelle as
she runs around to your side and cut her off. The cutscene will
them immediately kick in and you have avoided the lengthy chase
altogether. Additionally you won't have to fight the security
                  guards either.
Kit grabs Michelle's shoulder while she runs and she quickly turns, knocks his
arm away and unleashes a combo, which he successfully blocks. Just as she is
about to throw a punch he says: "Ho hing dai." This startles Michelle who then
asks: "Kit. Is that you? What are you doing here?" Kit replies in a rushed tone:
"I'll tell you later. Let's get Chi." Michelle then asks: "Chi's here?" to which
Kit replies: "He's looking for you." He grabs her hand and they run off as the
    screen fades to black.
    Location: Lobby of Metreon Building
    Scenario Type: Fight/BOSS FIGHT
Gameplay Tips: GRAB Michelle by pressing and holding "R1" while directing the
"R3" stick towards her. The while still keeping "R1" pressed,
slap the "R3" stick in the direction of your attackers. Using
ADRENALINE during this move will cause Kit to swing Michelle
around for a dazzling helicopter style kick. Keep your eye on
Michelle's health bar and remember that you can only GRAB her
until your BLOCK meter is depleted. Try to attack Sung Lung up
against the stairs to make it easier to hit him. Use the afore-
mentioned tandem attacks to easily defeat Sung Lung.
Kit and Michelle are seen running down the escalator of the Metreon as a big guy
in a puffy white winter jacket walks towards them on the ground floor. Kit and
Michelle abruptly stop once they see the man who then says: "I am Sung Lung." He
pumps both of his fists forward and Kit and Michelle both charge towards him to
before you actually get to face Sung Lung you will need to defeat two waves of
thugs who are hell bent on killing Michelle. Practice your tandem attacks (See
chapter 'Gameplay Tips' above for specifics) and get a good feel for how they
work. When your BLOCKING meter is empty, Kit will release Michelle. Repeat this
process and or simply beat the living crap out of the first wave of goons (6
total) until they are all dead.
Sung Lung will laugh briefly and order the next wave to: "Attack!" Use the same
tactics and just remember to not allow Michelle to get swarmed. Once you and
Michelle have killed these 6-8 thugs, Sung Lung leaps over the railing and runs
    down saying: "My turn."
As soon as you gain control, he will say: "I am Sung Lung." During this time he
is completely vulnerable to attack so quickly unleash a full fledged combos on
him. (Unleashing an ADRENALINE attack midway through your combo can really take
a good chunk out of his life bar. If you can get him to fall up on the stairs
you can easily land a few more combos while he tries to walk back down. Once his
health bar drops to around half however, he will become somewhat more
formidable. At this point you should use your tandem attacks (Combined with
ADRENALINE whenever possible) to continue depleting his life. COUNTERS also work
well although there is a good chance that he will grab you, lift you overhead,
and then throw you a short distance. But as long as you keep him off of Michelle
at all costs and use her as your tandem partner as much as possible, he will
    soon perish.
Kit and Michelle are running towards the door when Chi says: "Hey, there you
are." They skid to a halt as Chi casually walks down the stairs with an award in
his hands. He then says to Michelle: "They called your name at the ceremony so I
accepted for you." Michelle responds: "Thanks Chi." Chi continues: "The food was
great. They must really like you!" Kit then interrupts the small talk and says:
"We have to get out of here." Chi adds: "Yeah, before any goons get here." He
continues talking to Michelle as they walk out: "Kit tell you? We were almost
killed." Kit says: "We need somewhere safe." And Chi quickly responds: "I know a
place no one will find us."
    Location: Church
    Scenario Type: CUTSCENE ONLY!!
    Gameplay Tips: N/A
The camera pans down inside an abandoned church to reveal Kit and Michelle
seated on the steps in front of the alter. Pigeons can be heard ruffling their
feathers in the rafters overhead. Michelle then refers to her father (Boss
Chiang) as she says: "I knew he'd end up dead...living that kind of life." Kit
softly answers: "But he cared very deeply for you." She turns to look at Kit and
says: "And I thought you would be smarter than to follow in that path.
Especially after your father's death." Kit then reaches into his pocket and
pulls out the letter that Boss Chiang had given him. He hands it to Michelle
while telling her: "His dying wish was for me to give this to you." She accepts
it and briefly looks up as Kit stand up and walks away to give her some privacy.
She then begins reading the letter as her father's voice can be heard narrating.
    My dearest Michelle,
If you are reading this, I have truly lost you forever. But I know I spent my
last days trying to end the suffering I've allowed to happen. I hope someday you
can forgive me. My only success has been you. And my only pride.
Michelle says aloud: "What is all this? What was he trying to do?" Just then a
loud crash can be heard as several thugs come flying through the church windows.
Michelle stands up defensively as Kit comes running from the back area with
several more thugs in pursuit. They find themselves surrounded by several thugs
as one of them instructs: "Let's get this guy!"
    Location: Church
    Scenario Type: Endurance Brawl
Gameplay Tips: As with the previous battle you can use Michelle to unleash
devastating tandem attacks. Using ADRENALINE simultaneously will
add to the beating that these thugs are about to receive. Keep an
eye on Michelle's health bar and try to minimize the damage you
take as this will be a lengthy battle overall. COUNTER whenever
surrounded and don't forget to break the candlestick in the upper
right corner to pick up the METAL CANDLESTICK. The thugs with the
reddish/brown ski jackets are the strongest but will get the hand
twist/heel kick when COUNTERED. As always, use ADRENALINE attacks
to make the going a little easier.
As you gain control start beating the crap out of this first group of thugs.
Break the candlestick holder in the upper right corner as soon as you can to
pick up the METAL CANDLESTICK. Proceed to unleash some serious Jet-Li style fury
now and keep Michelle from being surrounded. Whenever you COUNTER the ski
jacket-wearing thugs, Kit will twist their arm and follow up with a heel kick to
the back. (Armed or not) As thugs die more will come totaling around 20-25. Keep
an eye on Michelle so that she doesn't get swarmed and basically just divvy your
blows according to who is closest/approaching as well as who is attacking her.
Once you kill this small army the following cutscene will kick in.
Michelle is shown as a thug sneaks up from behind her and zaps her in the back
with an ELECTROCUTION STICK. She screams in pain and he then kicks her to the
floor. Kit turns to see what happened and the thug is seen running to the
blocked off area behind the altar. Kit leaps over the altar to fight the thug
As soon as you can, unleash a full-fledged combo ahead. (3 goons will be
crashing in through the rear windows but you should be able to knock the armed
thug back as they land) Quickly begin divvying up your blows according to who is
closest/approaching all while remaining aware of where the armed thug is.
COUNTER as necessary and focus your energies on killing the armed thug first.
JUMP kick off the walls to keep these attackers at bay if you get crowded and
don't forget to use your ADRENALINE whenever possible.
Once you kill the first 4 goons, four more will hop in through the windows. One
of them will have another ELECTROCUTION STICK and the other three are ski jacket
thugs. COUNTER the ski jacket thugs to twist their arm/heel kick them and just
like before, concentrate on killing the armed goon as quickly as possible. JUMP
kick off the walls if you need to get out of a tight spot.
Once you have defeated this wave of thugs a brief cinematic shows a gray
sweatsuit-wearing thug somersaulting in through the window and taunting Kit with
some martial art poses. Kit taunts back just as and several more sweatsuit-
    wearing thugs hop in.
Chances are that your health bar will be very low by now. (If you die here you
can continue from this point) Stay near the wall in the lower left corner of the
room so that you won't get surrounded. Now simply COUNTER and then attack with a
combo whenever the nearest attacker is stunned or more importantly, when they
get winded from all the jumping and flying around. (They will hunch over and
pant) With a little patience you can kill all of these fools without getting hit
    at all.
Once they are dead four more goons hop in through the window. All four are armed
with ELECTROCUTION STICKS. I would simply remain in the same lower left corner
and COUNTER them all until a striking opportunity presents itself. Often you can
land a two or three strike combo and then immediately COUNTER another thug as he
comes in to zap you. They are also extremely susceptible to wall kicks and you
can always be brave by trying to GRAB one of them and then either throwing him
or smashing his head into the wall. Once you've killed them the cutscene will
    kick in.
As Kit kills the last thug he hears a bang on the door in the other area of the
church opening. He turns to see who it is and the camera pans to reveal the door
being kicked open by a skinny fighter in a gray sweatsuit with orange-striped
shorts worn on the outside. He does a series of martial art combos while saying:
"You've never seen moves like these before." Kit casually walks up to face him.
This cat is very easy to beat. Simply COUNTER to stun him and then unleash a
cantankerous combo of your own in return. Repeat this two or three times and
he'll die in a crumpled heap on the floor in front of you. If you miss however,
he will land a 8-10 strike combination on you. COUNTERS are the key here though.
The truth is, he's never seen moves like yours before. :)
Once he is defeated four more thugs show up. Divvy up your blows accordingly and
COUNTER when you get surrounded. Try to stay in the center of the room for this
fight as they can swarm you in the corners or in the little alcove by the window
up top. Once you have killed them three more sweatsuit-wearing goons join the
Kill the orange guy just like I mentioned before and kill the two gray ones by
also COUNTERING and then unleashing combos as needed.
Lastly, four more thugs arrive. COUNTER them and return attack only towards the
nearest aggressor but keep your attention on the ski jacket-wearing thug with
the ELECTROCUTION STICK. Again, the center of the room is best to avoid being
swarmed. Once these last few thugs are dead the cutscene will kick in.
Kit runs to Michelle who is still lying on the ground from her previous
encounter with the wrong end of the ELECTROCUTION STICK. She says to him as she
tries to get to her feet: "I'm ok. Get him!" (Referring to Chi I presume) Kit
gets up and starts to run towards the door.
    Location: Church Interior
    Scenario Type: Shooting
Gameplay Tips: Keep firing at all times. Head as far back as you can (I
recommend the lower left corner) Dual target by aiming and
shooting at multiple enemies simultaneously to keep them off
guard. Focus primarily on laser scope wielding gunmen. Whenever
you are targeted by laser, focus your stream on fire towards the
As a direct continuation from the previous cutscene Kit is running towards the
door. He stops short with the sound of pistols cocking just as a cap-wearing
gunman is shown behind brandishing two handguns. The thug points both guns
towards Kit (whose back is turned) but is quickly taken out by Michelle from
behind. The impact of her punishment sends both guns sailing through the air in
Kits direction. She yells: "Kit! Catch!" and he turns to catch the guns. She
then says as she's finishing off the thug: "There's more coming on the other
side. I'll take care of them." She gives Kit the thumbs up sign and he nods in
Just then three laser-scoped gunmen come smashing through the round window in
the ceiling and rappel down to the floor.
Start firing nonstop and keep slapping your "R3" stick back and forth at the
various enemies that appear during this chapter. My recommendation is to head to
the lower left corner of the room so as to have the widest possible range of
vision. (You can also hide there but I didn't find that necessary) Target and
shoot all enemies as the appear and try to divvy up the shots in such a way so
as to keep them all off guard. If you get targeted by a laser beam, immediately
fire towards the gunman who has you locked on. This gunfight is very similar to
the "Chop Shop Shootout" with the exception being that this area is much
smaller. If you prioritize from gunman down to melee weapon-wielding thug, you
ought have no difficulty completing this segment unscathed. Once the last of
them has been riddled with bullets a brief cutscene will ensue.
The camera pans down from the ceiling to reveal the large church doors. Chi is
forced in at gunpoint by a dapper looking thug in a white suit.
    Location: Interior Church
    Scenario Type: CUTSCENE ONLY!!
    Gameplay Tips: N/A
As a direct continuation of the previous cutscene, Chi is walked into the church
at gunpoint by a dapper looking thug who is wearing a white suit. (This is Billy
Soon) Chi is holding a paper bag containing his lunch. Billy Soon says: "You're
little friends appetite led us right to you." Several thugs now restrain Kit and
Michelle as Chi pathetically says: "I'm sorry." Michelle then threateningly says
to Billy: "You hurt him and you're dead. Billy replies in an unaffected manner:
"Where did such a beautiful young thing learn to be such a hardass?" She quickly
retorts: "Growing up around scum like you." The camera then zooms out to show
one of the thugs retrieving the envelope from Michelle's pocket as Billy motions
to him to bring it over. He grabs the envelope from the thug and goes on: "I
have a friend in Hong Kong who will be very interested in these." (Referring to
letter) Kit says to Michelle: "Kwan." Billy continues: "Apparently he's not too
happy with you, Kit." He then orders the goons to: "Get them out of here." The
thugs then lead Kit and Michelle through the door and Billy follows behind with
Chi still at gunpoint. The scene then fades to black.
From the darkness a door is swung open to reveal Kit being thrown into a dark
room by two guards. As Kit looks up from the ground, one of the guards says to
the other: "He's not going anywhere." With that they shut the door and Kit gets
    back on his feet.
    Location: Interior Warehouse
    Scenario Type: Stealth/Subdue
Gameplay Tips: Don't be the deer caught in the headlights. Patiently observe the
enemy guard pattern and wait for your opportunities. Keep your
finger always ready to press "R1" at the moment prompted. You can
only hang from pipes until your BLOCKING meter runs out so time
                   it right.
You find yourself trapped in a darkened locked room. Look for the overhead pipe
and press "R1" when prompted to jump and hide. As you do a brief cutscene kicks
A guard on the other side of the door opens the peephole and looks for you
inside. When he doesn't see you he says aloud: "Where did he go?" He opens the
door and barges in with his flashlight and slowly walks right under you.
As you gain control simply let go of "R1" and you will fall on the guard,
knocking him out. Quickly exit the room and a brief cinematic shows Kit sneaking
away as a patrolling guard approaches. Move all the way to the left and wait for
the HIDE prompt once under the pipe. Take out this guard the same way as you did
the last. Next follow the path around the corner and you'll see a stationed
guard on the walkway ahead. The pipe to hang from is right next to him. Move up
and hide from the pipe and wait for the guard to go on alert. As he turns away,
drop down and sneak up behind him for a knockout blow. Follow the walkway slowly
and at the corner by the guard who is facing away, hang from the pipe. As soon
as he becomes calm again, drop down and knock him out too. Now walk past him and
immediately turn left at the corner and walk back to where the opening is on
your right. You'll be behind two guards here. Go up to the chair, pick it up and
smash it on one of them while quickly then knocking out the other one before he
spots you. Now move ahead and then turn left again to see a guard looking down
through a glass roof. Sneak up and attack him so that he goes crashing through
the glass. From here simply turn away from the glass roof and head left at the
    end to continue.
The camera will briefly pan out at the corner here to show you two guards back-
to-back with flashlights. As you gain control again, simply wait for the beam of
light to start moving away and follow it until you are prompted again to HIDE
from the pipe directly in front of the guard. He will briefly go on alert. As
soon as he calms down, drop again and continue around to the other side. Perform
the same action again with the second guard and then proceed until you see the
next scanning flashlight beam. Stop just out of sight and observe a second beam
right above. Time it so that both beams are moving away and run up to where you
are prompted to JUMP and then quickly press up and press "R1" again to hide from
the pipe up here. Wait for the upper beam to safely pass to your right and then
drop and move on. Just ahead there will be another beam of light scanning up and
down. Time it and run under the beam to avoid being spotted. Now run towards the
end and drop down through the opening in the railing until you are on the floor
You will immediately notice a light beam coming through an open door. Forget
about that for now. Head to your left and you'll see a guard stationed in the
dark far corner. Approach him slowly either head on or from his left and he will
wake up startled and briefly scan around. As he turns to walk to the edge, sneak
up and put him back to sleep for good. A brief cutscene will now kick in.
The guard in the doorway hears something and walks in saying to the guy you just
eliminated: "Hey, is that you?" He starts scanning left to right.
Now that you again have control and see the guard scanning ahead, simply time
his movements and strike from either side to finish him. Press "R1" to open the
door behind him and go through it.
Five guards immediately come to attack you once you enter the room so start
handing out pain as if Christmas came early and you were Santa and COUNTER them
if you get surrounded. This room is rather large so feel free to move around so
as not to get swarmed. Once you have killed them, head to the far end of the
room and open the door to enter the next room.
As you enter you'll notice a guard ahead scanning side to side. Head towards the
wooden elevator on the right and sneak up next to the guard while scans away and
take him out. Right next to him is a small space where no need to JUMP back and
forth to get to the upper level. (Press "R1" as you touch each side to jump up)
Once up top, take out the last guard who is just motionless looking out. Now
simply head to the edge by the wooden freight elevator and press "R1" when
prompted next to the chain. This will trigger a brief cinematic showing Kit
pulling the elevator door open by dragging the chain down to the ground. Now
just enter the open elevator and Kit will press the down button cinematically.
Location: Interior Warehouse + Catwalks outside
    Scenario Type: Fight/Navigate
Gameplay Tips: COUNTER the first two enemies in the room for a nice cinematic
showing Kit Bending their arm and then heel kicking them once
they are forced to their knees. Grab and throw the guards over
the edge on the catwalks. Save your ADRENALINE attack for the
guard after you slide down the cable.
As you exit the elevator you will find yourself in a long room with two big
thugs at the far end. As you approach them they will attack. Use COUNTERS to
execute a nice little arm twisting/back breaking action and basically beat the
crap out of them until they can handle no more. Divvy up blows accordingly when
both surround you. Use the room to your advantage by moving around and wall kick
to keep them off balance. These guys liker to grab and punch you. Once they are
dead, exit through the door at the far end.
Kit appears outside on the catwalk just in time to see Michelle being dragged
off by two goons far below. The camera zooms in as Michelle struggles and says:
"Let go of me." They continue dragging her up some stairs onto a large cargo
ship. Kit is then again shown looking around for a way down and the camera pans
around to show a cable connecting this building to the one on the other side.
Catwalks adorn the sides of both buildings. Kit starts running as the camera
Run along the catwalk until you encounter the guard at the midway point. Either
beat him up or simply GRAB and press down on "R3" to throw him over the edge to
his death. Continue to the far end and CLIMB the ladder to the upper catwalk.
Throw this guard overboard as well and continue to the far end and CLIMB the
next ladder there. Follow the catwalk again and send the next guard base-jumping
without a parachute and then CLIMB the ladder at the end up to where the cable
is. Press "R1" to Jump up and grab the cable and a brief cinematic will show Kit
sliding to the far building. (Observe the guard below as you slide - He is the
reason we saved our full ADRENALINE bar.
As you arrive and gain control again, head to the ladder and press "R1" to slide
down it as well as the next one to the catwalk below. Here you will face another
guard but this one is no pushover like the last few. (Notice his blue health bar
    = Strong foe)
Use your ADRENALINE attack to quickly knock him down and deplete some life from
him. As he gets up quickly volley more attacks to overwhelm and kill him. Beware
his seemingly endless stream of blows if he gets behind you. If you have a
chance to pass him, just keep running to the open door at the end to leave him
behind. A brief cinematic shows you entering the door.
TIP: Simply COUNTER the last guard and then immediately GRAB him while he is

Kit walks into a room where several thugs are hanging out around a table. As
they spot him they jump up. One of them says: "He's escaped." Kit simply does a
little martial hand movements and then motions them over.
As the fight begins, attack the nearest two thugs and try to divvy up blows on
your way to the table. If you can break the table you will be able to pick up a
TABLE LEG for use as a melee weapon. You can also knock free LOCKER PIECES by
smashing the lockers on either side. Use the weapons to easily beat these guys
up and keep your main attention on the guy with the PLUMBERS WRENCH and the one
with the SPIKED BAT. (If you have two melee weapons you can tornado around all
of them quickly by using your ADRENALINE attack) Once they are defeated, exit
through the door at the far end of the room. (Take two weapons with you)
TIP: You can throw melee weapons by pressing "R1" while slapping R3" in the
         direction of your desired throw.
    Location: Interior Warehouse.
    Scenario Type: Fight
Gameplay Tips: Use COUNTERS as usual and fight your way through the various
rooms of thugs. Get the PLUNGER from the bathroom for an
advantage. Divvy blows accordingly and wall kick when
surrounded. Use whatever weapons you can find against your
Although a new chapter, this hallway is immediately following your last fight
with the armed thugs. Hopefully you brought your weapons along from the previous
room but either way, administer a beating to the guard by the soda machines in
this small room. If you can take him by surprise he probably won't even know
what hit him. You can smash the soda machines and water cooler if you have
destructive tendencies like me. Once he is dead, exit through the door at the
end. As you walk down the next hallway you'll notice a door on your left that
is closed. USE it to enter a small dirty bathroom.
There is a guard in the locked stall at the end who will tell you to get lost in
a variety of ways when you try to open the door ("R1") but afterwards simply
walk towards the sinks to trigger a brief cutscene.
A guard with a ski-cap on exits the stall while the toilet is heard flushing
behind him. He then calmly says: "There's no escape." And begins charging at
Immediately COUNTER him and then unleash some combos on him in return. You can
also GRAB him while he is stunned and then SMASH his face into the sinks or
surrounding walls. A PLUNGER will also be lying on the floor right by the stall
from where he came out from so pick it up and give him the old Abner Louima
treatment. Once he is defeated exit the bathroom and turn left into the open
room as another brief cutscene kicks in. (Take the PLUNGER with you)
Kit walks into the room as several thugs are shown sparring and rough housing
with one another. As they notice Kit one of them goes: "What the hell..." They
all then turn to face Kit.
Three of the five thugs in this battle are armed with SPIKED BATS and PLUMBERS
WRENCHES so keep your eye out for them especially. Use the PLUNGER you should
have brought with you to make the going much easier and use COUNTERS, ADRENALINE
attacks and wall kicks to hasten the battle. Once they are all defeated go
through the door at the end.
As soon as you walk into the next hallway another cinematic kicks in showing two
guards with ELECTROCUTION STICKS ready for fighting. Take them out with COUNTERS
and divvying of blows. (Alternately you can throw the CHAIR as well or GRAB and
SMASH them into the electrical equipment on the table) Keep in mind that every
time they zap you with their sticks you will drop your weapon so be ready to
pick it up again immediately. Once they die, Kit will throw his weapon away. Now
proceed through the door at the far end of the security room.
As you exit the room you will notice a stairwell on your left. (We'll come back
to this later) For now, head straight and through the door ahead. Once inside
you'll notice two stacked aquariums (smashable) along with some office
furniture. Simply head through the next door and run down the long hallway to
the door at the end. Enter it.
A brief cinematic shows Kit entering what appears to be some sort of third-world
chemistry lab filled with several thugs in white overcoats and surgeon masks. As
you gain control simply COUNTER, ADRENALINE attack and wall kick to keep
everyone at bay. Try kicking one of them onto the red-hot table for kicks and
just remember to divvy around your blows. You can also GRAB and drag thugs over
the red-hot table in the back. Once they are defeated head back the way you came
and back down the long hallway towards the previous room with the aquariums. As
you enter the door the cutscene kicks in.
TIP: The chemists in all white can be instantly killed by COUNTERING their
attacks. It will trigger the arm-twisting, heel to the back animation. The
red cap-wearing chemists are regular enemies.
         (Credit: kslin88)
TIP 2: GRAB and lead an enemy to the corner of either long table to trigger the
           DRAG prompt.
Kit enters the office and looks around as both doors close automatically. A
voice is heard saying: "Your little tour ends here!" Kit then sees the man
sitting behind the aquariums. He gets up and walks towards Kit while continuing:
    "I've been waiting for you."
    |SUB BOSS BATTLE: Well dressed man with suspenders in office|
The best strategy here is to simply GRAB and throw him around. He has almost no
defense against GRAB moves. Every time get gets up again simply GRAB him again
and then double tap the "R3" stick to unleash another painful throw on him.
Slowly but surely you will completely deplete his life bar this way. (I
literally went through this entire fight without even being hit) You can also
lead him around after GRABBING him and then SMASHING him into the aquarium and
    other objects around the room.
Alternately if you want to make things more challenging, unleash a quick volley
of attacks right off the bat. Then use your COUNTERS as much as possible as he
rarely is open to attack. Wall kick off the back wall to knock him down and try
to attack from behind while he is getting up. Try to steer clear of the aquarium
because he will grab and smash your head into it every time. Be patient and your
COUNTERS will wear him down eventually. If you do get behind him while he is
getting up, unload a 4-Hit combo into a full-fledged ADRENALINE attack to get in
massive damage. Once he is dead, proceed out the door and head back towards the
way you came. You will now notice that the door at the bottom of the steps is
    now unlocked.
    Location: Car Chop Shop
    Scenario Type: Shoot/Outlast
Gameplay Tips: Stick as far back as possible to avoid being attacked/shot from
behind your field of vision. When the bomb-strapped goons come
start heading back again. Take out the laser-scoped gunmen first,
then the bomb suits, then the melee goons. Share your firepower
evenly around. Use the cars for cover and target canisters as
well as those bomb-wearing thugs by using "L2".
As you gain control you'll find yourself back in the hallway from where you
entered earlier. Turn to Kit's right and head down the stairs towards the now
open door leading into the car garage below. A brief cinematic shows Kit
overlooking the chop shop from the stairway as they take note of him. A thug
cries out: "He's escaped!" as another yells: "Get him!" Kit then jumps over the
railing and picks up the two semi-automatic guns he spotted on the table below.
    (They look like nail guns)
As you gain control start targeting and keep the "R2" button pressed. Simply
share your firepower around by hitting each enemy two or three times and then
quickly hitting the next guy two or three times. Focus your attention
immediately on any shooter who locks his red laser scope onto you. If you stay
in the rear right corner you should be able to pick them all off. Just keep
spraying and wait for them to all die.
A brief cinematic kicks in showing two goons in what appear to be space suits
with bombs attached approaching you from the doorway. As you gain control
immediately head backwards again and spray them with a relentless dose of
bullets until they explode. (You can lock on to them by pressing "L2") Head all
the way to the rear right corner again and continue lighting up the swarm of
enemies as they approach. Kill the laser-scoped guards first followed by the
slower moving bomb-strapped goons and lastly the melee weapon goons.
TIP: Come out from behind the car in the rear-right corner to light up the bomb
goons from afar as they take more shots to kill. Also you can target
numerous exploding canisters here as well if you decide do to run around
but know that the camera angle will hinder your vision behind you.
Once the last of them is dead a brief cutscene shows a wooden freight elevator
door opening and Kit throws down his guns. Run into the elevator and Kit presses
    the down button.

    Scenario Type: CUTSCENE ONLY!!
    Gameplay Tips: N/A
Kit is shown landing on the ground outside and then walking towards a cargo ship
at the dock ahead. As he walks around the corner of the building Chi is shown
hiding behind some crates and boxes. He carefully asks aloud: "Kit?" who
immediately turns and says: "Chi!" Chi runs out from his hiding place and
braggingly says: "I escaped! You should have seen me!" Kit asks: "Did you see
Michelle?" Chi answers while pointing up at the boat: "They took her up there."
The camera quickly pans up at the large ship and then shows Kit as he orders Chi
to: "Stay out of sight." Chi answers: "You've got to let me help. This is all my
fault." Kit sternly replies: "No. It's too dangerous." Chi goes on: "But Kit.."
as he is again told: "Stay here!" With that Chi pouts and Kit runs toward the
staircase leading up onto the ship.
Next the scene switches topside to show two goons holding Michelle who squirms
and grunts while a dapper thug in a white suit talks away on his cell phone and
says: "I got your package. Looks like a lot of stuff here." After a slight pause
he answers: "Don't worry. I don't read Chinese." With that he turns toward
Michelle and gently rubs his hand on her cheek while continuing: "And what do
you want me to do with our friends? Oh, such a shame, especially the beautiful
Miss Chiang." A short pause later and he agrees: "Fine, I'll start with him."
With that he hangs up his cell phone and orders the two goons: "Watch her. I'll
be back after I pay a visit to our guest Mr. Yun." As he turns to walk away,
Michelle breaks free by kicking the first thug in the head and then immediately
punching the other one out with her freed hand. The dapper thug, Billy, then
turns, laughs, cracks his knuckles and then runs toward Michelle who is out of
visual sight and a thorough beating is then heard being administered by Billy
while Michelle is heard moaning and grunting. Once she goes silent Billy is
    heard laughing again.
    Location: Large Cargo Ship Deck
Scenario Type: Thug Brawl followed by Boss Battle
Gameplay Tips: Share your blows around sparingly to keep the initial HOOK-
wielding enemies off guard. Try to pickup the MACHETTE to have a
slightly faster weapon. During the Billy fight, get the weapons
by wall jumping the boxes in the upper left and right corners.
Counter him and be patient. Beware his 5-combo sickle strike.
AS you begin a slew of thugs start rushing you. These guys are armed with MEAT
HOOKS, MACHETTES and PIPES. Share your blows around quickly to keep them all off
guards and immediately pick up weapons as thugs die. The big MEAT HOOKS were not
my favorite as they seemed a little slow but either way, once you are armed you
should easily dispatch these amateurs in grand fashion. Several more drop in the
fight as goons die but after about 15 0r 18 kills the enemy ceases to attack.
Kit is shown running and looking over the edge to a lower deck on the ship and
observes Billy as the two thugs drag off a still struggling Michelle. Kit then
jumps all the way down, landing directly across from Billy who then says: "This
is going to be fun!" while pulling out a Scythe from behind him. The camera also
reveals several goon atop the containers surrounding you both as it pans out.
As soon as the Billy Soon fight begins go and break the box in the upper right
and left corner by wall jumping to quickly find and pickup the first WOODEN
STICK. Billy is very slow so go to the upper left corner next and strike the
wooden box these to find and pick up the second WOODEN STICK. From here on out
    the battle becomes a breeze.
Simply wait until Billy is nearby and then throw a stick at him ("R1" + "R3" in
his direction) to momentarily stun him. Now quickly run up and unload a
combination. As soon as he gets up again, run around him and pick up the WOODEN
STICK again. (Sometimes the thrown weapon is hard to locate again but typically
it'll be along the perimeter wall or container and you'll see the "PICK UP"
prompt appear onscreen) Repeat this process three times and a brief cinematic
    will kick in.
Billy is shown getting up off the ground and looks over at one of his henchmen
who then throws and another Scythe towards him. It twirls through the air like a
ninja star and lands perfectly underfoot. Billy then says: "Now this is my
During the second phase of this battle, Billy will try to unleash some longer
combos and a tornado-like twirl. But if you simply COUNTER his every onslaught
and then repeat the above-mentioned technique a few more times, you'll defeat
him with ease. Once you do a cutscene will take over.
(FULL BOSS STRATEGY CREDIT: Maximus Cerberus)
TIP: The closer you are to Billy when you throw the WOODEN STICK, the better
your chances are of landing multiple shots on him while he is stunned.
TIP 2: Try lining up left to right on screen to make throwing and retrieving the
           WOODEN STICKS even easier.
ALTERNATE STRATEGY: Block his attacks and observe the position of his weapon(s)
after he finishes his combos. When the weapon(s) is/are in a
particular position, he is vulnerable. Attack him at that
                        Phase 1
When he only has one Scythe, if the position of the Scythe
when he finishes his combo is at his left side and the stick
portion is pointing up, he is vulnerable.
                        Phase 2
When he has two Scythes, if the positions of the Scythes
when he finishes his combos are such that the stick portions
are pointing up and towards each other, he is vulnerable.
Stay a little bit away from him when he has two Scythes
because one of his combos is quite long.

Billy is seen groaning face down on the floor with Kit still in a fighting
stance behind him. The camera then looks up at Michelle who calls down from the

Continuing from the previous cutscene, Billy fires his shot at Michelle who is
up above but Chi is seen in slow motion valiantly jumping in front of Michelle
while pushing her out of harms way and subsequently takes the bullet. Michelle
and Chi both fall down on the deck and Michelle gets up and worriedly says:
"Chi?" She turns his limp body over and screams: "Chi!"
Kit realizes what just happened and just as Billy aims at him, he kicks the gun
out of his hand and then leaps up and drives his knee into Billy's chest/throat
and with a twist, kills him. He then briefly looks back up and around to find a
way up before running out of the camera's view.
Kit arrives on the upper deck and kneels at Chi's side alongside Michelle. Chi
struggles to speak: "I just wanted to help." Kit lovingly says: "You have." Chi
goes on: "I screwed up again." Michelle then says in a saddened tone: "Chi, you
saved my life." Chi then looks up at Kit and says: "You promised we'd all be
together again. Remember?" He painstakingly holds his hand up and Kit and
Michelle both add their hands on top just like when they were young. Chi then
utters "Ho hing dai" with his final breath and is dies. Kit and Michelle bow
their heads in sorrow for a moment until Kit looks at her and says: "Yau yee
hay." To this Michelle replies angrily: "We have to get back to Hong Kong. This
has to end." They both then stand up over Chi's lifeless body and the scene
    fades to black.

Victor Lau is seen waiting at the end of a dock on a foggy Hong Kong night. A
speedboat is then seen pulling up as the camera zooms out. The camera then
reveals Kit and Michelle as being the occupants of the boat. Kit says to
Michelle: "Victor came to me when I was a young cop. He convinced me to use my
connection with your family to go undercover. He knew I would do anything to
change the world that killed my father...and now yours." Michelle looks into his
eyes and then holds his hand.
As the boat stops by the dock, Victor gives Michelle a hand up introduces
himself: "Ms. Chiang. Victor Lau, Triad Crime Bureau." He shakes her hand and
continues: "We're glad you're safe. What have you got for us?" Michelle answers:
"A brutal wave of criminals were rising within my father's business operations.
He allowed this to go on for too long, not knowing for sure who was behind it.
From the papers he left me I think he was getting close. How could he not have
suspected Kwan?" Victor Lau then says: "Not here. Come with me." As they start
walking down the dock Kit looks over to his right just as a sniper shoots
Michelle in the shoulder from that point. Kit lands on top of her as Victor
asks: "Are you two alright?" Kit looks over again and sees the shooter running
away while laughing loudly. Michelle says: "I'll be fine. Go ahead." Kit then
says to Victor: "Get her to the hospital." And runs off in pursuit.
He runs a short distance and then stops. From behind the left corner of a wooden
shack a thug in a yellow-hooded sweatshirt appears and starts approaching. The
camera then pans right to show another thug, this one in green coming out from
    the other side.
    Location: Hong Kong Docks
    Scenario Type: Fight / Endurance
Gameplay Tips: Use GRAB COMBOS to easily defeat the first two fights. During the
battle against the three large thugs use COUNTERS on the yellow
thug, then evade the first vase and strike again before quickly
COUNTERING the second vase. Killing the oversized green thugs
requires you to unleash your combos right before they swing at
you or while they are running towards you. They are open to
relentless attacks but BLOCKING, GRABS and COUNTERS are useless
                   against them.
These two thugs are really easy to beat if you simply exploit their one glaring
weakness. They let you GRAB at will! Take this time to really practice and hone
your multi-directional GRAB blows by simply pressing and holding R1 while
slapping R3 in the direction of your enemy. Now while still holding R1 and R3
towards them, quickly slap R3 in any of the 6 directions. (Try slapping the
stick twice or three times to unleash more powerful blows and throws) I pretty
much GRABBED, threw and slammed them to death while never even breaking a sweat.
Just COUNTER if needed or unleash a few ADRENALINE combos as needed if you need
to because what you want to do is save as much of your health as possible.
Once they are dead a brief cinematic shows a tall skinny fighter perched atop
the wooden framework above Kit. He jumps down right in front of you and
immediately starts charging. Immediately resume the GRABBING and slamming and
COUNTER if necessary. He is very easily stunned and should pose no serious
    threat to you.
Once you have eliminated him from the payroll, head toward the upper left area
and JUMP over the boxes blocking the way to the ladder. CLIMB the ladder to the
upper level of this wooden boat deck. Now continue downwards, go over the zinc
sheets and over the metal rods that form a walkway to the adjacent boat. Once
you get onto the adjacent boat a brief cinematic shows Kit running right up to
three thugs who are perched behind a crate and cement-bag fortress of sorts. Two
of them are massively large thugs in green, one on each side in the back with
numerous large vases handy. There is also a thug with a yellow-hooded sweatshirt
in the middle who watches Kit with disdain. Kit performs his ADRENALINE Taunt
and the yellow thug hops over to fight. (If you die you will be able to start
    from here)
The key to this victory is health and strategy. Both green guys alternate
throwing a vase while the thug in yellow is stunned or on the ground. Ideally
you should immediately COUNTER his initial blow and then immediately evade the
first incoming vase's path as you run around to unload a two or three strike
combo on him. Immediately COUNTER the second vase after the second or third blow
and then move back and wait for the yellow thug to attack again as you repeat
the strategy. Make sure you COUNTER his initial punch because otherwise he will
light you up with a punishing 10-12 hit combination. (You still need to fight
    the two green goons too)
TIP: Here are the steps required to beat the yellow thug!
1: COUNTER the very first blow
2: Avoid the first vase by running around the incoming path
3: Land 1 - 3 hits while he is stunned
         4: COUNTER the second vase
         5: Repeat
Once he is dead the big green thug on the left jumps off his perch and storms
down towards you. His buddy on the right will continue throwing vases whenever
you stun, hit or knock the goon down. The most important thing to keep in mind
is that he has a BLUE life bar above his head meaning this guy will take
numerous combos to kill. Knowing this you should AVOID COUNTERING, GRABBING, and
BLOCKING at any cost. He is simply too big and overwhelming for those tactics.
If you do he will instead pick you up and throw you across the area for some
serious health loss. My best tip is to unleash a two or three strike combo while
he charges at you or starts to swing. Immediately get ready to COUNTER the vase
and then repeat the offensive attack. If you can get him up against the crates
and cement bags you should unleash your ADRENALINE combos while remembering to
    COUNTER the vases.
Once he is dead the last green thug comes down to fight. Simply repeat the
offensive attack methods on him and since there are no more vases to COUNTER he
should be easily dispatched. Even though he may dodge 4 or five combo strike at
times, the 5th and 6th should knock him down. I simply overtook him with
relentless combos and attacks. He never even got shots off.
Once he is dead head back to the lower right area to continue. Jump down and
then run over the wooden planks to the next boat. Now CLIMB up the ladder and
take either plank to cross over to the next boat. (One simply requires you to
    CLIMB another ladder.
Once on the next boat, JUMP up on the deck and you'll see two thugs ahead under
a large suspended fish. Quickly run up on the right and USE the lever when
prompted to release the fish, thereby killing the thugs. Now USE the lever in
the upper left area and immediately JUMP up in the lower right while the way is
clear. (A cinematic will show the fish-hanger moving out of the way) Once past
the obstacle, CLIMB up the angled ladder and a brief cinematic will show Kit
ascending the ladder to the top of the mast with the beautiful Hong Kong skyline
behind you. Now USE the overhead wire to trigger another cinematic, which shows
Kit zipping down to the far end while popping ever light bulb along the way. Kit
then lands down on a rickety looking wooden building along the waterside.
    Location: Hong Kong Docks
    Scenario Type: Survive
Gameplay Tips: Move slowly along the upper balcony and COUNTER each assailant as
he pops out of a window or from behind a corner. If you get
knocked down, HIDE at every spot and head back to the ladder.
(The sniper cannot target you upstairs) Take your time and attack
as you get to each window and corner. Once the enemy has jumped
out, he will run away if not killed so you can always backtrack
and go a little further. Enemy shadows can be seen in most
                   brightly lit windows.
Before anything let me just make it clear that you must proceed through this
level by staying on the upper balcony. If you jump or get pushed down to the
dock a brief cinematic will show the sniper setting his sights on you. One shot
will kill you and it can be anticipated by his last minute cocking of the gun.
If you do end up below and in his crosshairs, quickly move from hiding spot to
hiding spot back to the ladders on the left. Once you are back upstairs he will
complain to himself about the fact that he can't see you there anymore.
Several enemies will jump out at you from behind dark corners and through
windows while navigating your way along the upper balcony. Make sure that you
move slowly as you approach every window and corner. If you COUNTER or Attack
right as you get to these spots, no one will be able to throw you down below.
One COUNTER or blow and they die. (Sometimes they simply run away)
As you go up the first steps a goon jumps out from behind the corner. Once he's
dead continue to the first lit window. COUNTER the thug who comes crashing
through and do the same at the very next corner as another springs out at you.
Keep going until you see the next lit window and get ready for a thug to jump
out from behind the barrels just before the window. COUNTER him and the also
COUNTER the thug who crashes through the window. Now head to the next lit window
and COUNTER the assailant there. Now simply run along to the far end and a brief
cinematic will show a crate attached to a pulley system that requires you to
move out of your way by USING the lever below on the dock.
Head back a little and CLIMB down the ladder to the dock below. Quickly HIDE
behind the boxes right there and then move from hiding spot to hiding spot until
you can see the lever at the far right. USE it and then go again from hiding
spot to hiding spot as you make your way back to the ladder and CLIMB up. Once
back up top, head right and continue along past where the crate was, over the
planks and onto the next building.
Once on the second building, move unbothered until you arrive at the second lit
window. COUNTER the thug who crashes through and then immediately COUNTER the
next one at the corner just past the window. Continue along past the next two
lit windows and quickly COUNTER the thug who springs out from the dark corner
just before the next lit window. Now COUNTER the thug who crashes through this
lit window as well as the one at the very next corner past it. Move past the
next two lit windows and then COUNTER the thug who comes crashing through the
third lit window. (You should see his shadow inside) Just past the next corner
another thug must be COUNTERED from behind some boxes and right at the next wall
another as well. Continue to the next lit window and again and right after to it
there is a dark window which you must also COUNTER a thug. (This is the first
dark window that you need to be aware of) Now run along unscathed to the far end
until a brief cinematic shows you another lever on the dock below.
Jump down and USE the lever and quickly run to your left to the first hiding
spot. Now run to your left and quickly CLIMB the ladder. You must do this
fluidly to not get shot. Once back above, quickly head right and bypass the
obstacle before it returns to its initial position. COUNTER the thug at the
first lit window as well as the next thug in the adjacent dark window. (If you
get knocked down here you must run left from your hiding spot and JUMP twice
back and forth between the crates and wall to get back up) Another thug must be
COUNTERED at the corner immediately following the dark window. Then COUNTER
another thug at the second corner ahead and again right behind the cement-bag
pile ahead. Now walk past the next two lit windows without concern and keep
going until you trigger the cutscene by the last lit window at the far end.
A thug in a yellow-hooded sweatshirt with two handguns steps out from behind the
shadowy corner and approaches Kit who counters him with a kick to the chest,
which causes his guns to be knocked free and sends him reeling. Kit catches the
guns and then runs towards an angled plank. He then slides down it to the lower
    Location: Hong Kong Docks
    Scenario Type: Shooting / Endurance
Gameplay Tips: Use your hiding spots until they are destroyed. Shoot back after
he finishes his Adrenaline dive and stands up to laugh. Use your
Adrenaline dives to get out of the way. Do not hide by the
EXPLODING CANNISTERS. Use "L2" to target and shoot the objects
                   above his hiding places.
The gunman who shot Michelle is seen on the boat ahead as he rolls out from
behind cover, laughs and twirls his gun.
This is a lengthy gunfight that is broken into three parts. Make sure you use
the hiding spots until they are demolished by his gun fire. The best time to
shoot him is immediately after he stands up from doing his Adrenaline dive. (He
will laugh momentarily) Shoot some of the objects above his hiding place so as
to drop them on him because he'll certainly do the same to you. Once his life
drops down to around 70% a brief cinematic will show him somersaulting backwards
and landing on the deck of the next boat.
Head to the right side and drop down so that you can cross over the plank to the
boat he was just on. Once aboard, JUMP up on the left and immediately take cover
behind the wooden box. He will run from left to right while shooting and you
should quickly target and shoot the object above his right hiding place for a
quick hit. Try staying as far back in terms of hiding spaces and avoid hiding
behind the EXPLODING CANNISTER on your left side. Whenever he stands up briefly
you should come out and fire at him. Then immediately seek cover behind another
spot. (ADRENALINE Diving is good for this) After every dive he stands up again
so use this as your primary opportunity to get in one or two shots. The steel
Drums in the rear left area was my ideal hiding place since it was protected by
the steel drums directly in front. Once his health drops to about 40% a brief
cinematic shows him diving through the air and somersaulting onto yet another
boat. He gets up and menacingly laughs some more while twirling his guns.
JUMP up onto the small roof in the upper right corner and use the wooden plank
to get onto the boat he just vacated. Immediately HIDE behind the first drums on
your left. When he stands up and laughs, tag him with a few shots and again try
to shoot objects above his hiding spots. Stick to the rear hiding areas while
you can to avoid having to HIDE under objects yourself. You can also shoot some
EXPLODING CANNISTERS on the right side of his boat when he is there. Once his
health gets low he will pretty much stay far back and go left to right and back.
At this time (Depending how much health you have left) you can strafe and fire
from the rear and tag him a few times. My recommended hiding place is the center
box in the back because you have some additional cover from the box directly in
front. As soon as you take the last ounce of his health away the cutscene takes
Kit dives forward onto the gunman's boat and lands in a rolling motion right
behind a box. Won Jang fires a few more rounds but misses. Kit then returns a
few shots as well but Won Jang also takes cover behind a box. Kit then notices a
big steel crate suspended above Won Jang's hiding spot and performs an
ADRENALINE Dive while firing at the cable, which causes the steel crate to come
crashing down on him. Won Jang has only enough time to realize his fate before
being crushed to death. Kit briefly looks at his handy work and then quickly
runs off the boat and out of the camera's range.

Kit gives Michelle his father's beads as the camera pans back and she is seen
moaning in a wheelchair. A nurse stands behind her and Victor Lau walks in. He
asks: "How is she?" and the nurse replies: "She's still groggy from the
medication." Kit adds: "She'll be ok." To which Lau responds as he walks out:
"Thanks to you. I'm going to double the men on guard." The nurse then begins to
wheel Michelle out while saying to Kit: "The doctor has ordered some more tests
for her. Kit notices a large tattoo on her chest and looks somewhat suspicious.
As she leaves he hears a sinister laughs and runs into the hallway just in time
to see the nurse running with the wheelchair past some thugs at the far end. She
stops only to tell them: "Get him!" As they begin to head your way she briefly
looks back with an evil look on her face before heading out of view through some
double doors. Kit runs towards the men with an "I'm Angry now!" look on his
Location: Hospital Hallway / Examination Rooms
    Scenario Type: Fighting / Pursue
Gameplay Tips: Use your solid fighting abilities to defeat the enemies as you
encounter them. GRABS and offensive combos will cut them all down
to size. Jump Kick off walls if needed and use COUNTERS as
necessary to defeat the larger goons in the examination rooms.
Beat the nurse by COUNTERING her first blow and then unleashing
the wrath on her. Throw Melee Items as though there was no
Four thugs in black will be running towards you as you begin but are easily
dispatched by simply divvying your attacks as usual and COUNTERING as needed.
These guys also have no defense for GRABBING so you can experiment by SMASHING
them into the various objects around this hallway. (I especially enjoyed
throwing them through the glass dividers. You can also exercise your green thumb
here by SMASHING some PLANT POTS on these helpless saps. Once they are defeated
head to the far end and USE the doorway to proceed to the next room as a
    cutscene briefly takes over.
Kit walks into an examination room just in time to see a big bald thug in a gray
suit drowning the doctor in the sink while saying: "Mother always wanted me to
be a doctor. A patient can be seen lying in the MRI machine as well. The
victimized doctor then falls to the ground in a dead heap.
Although this thug is pretty large, he is easily overwhelmed with offensive
combos and completely susceptible to GRABS. You can easily COUNTER his initial
move and then land a barrage of your own shots. Try GRABBING him and then
SMASHING his head into the electrical equipment on either side of the MRI
machine for a nice little electrical treat. If you SMASH him into the actual MRI
machine sides it will electrocute the patient inside. Alternately you can
momentarily DUNK him in the sink or smash him into the rest of the equipment
found in the room. Once he is dead exit through the door as another short
    cinematic takes over.
Kit enters another hallway just in time to see the nurse still hightailing it
with Michelle in her wheelchair. Sinister laughter is heard.
WALKTHROUGH CONT: (If you die you can restart here)
Start running down towards the three thugs at the far end who will be very
willing to receive a beating. A fourth thug is waiting by the little alcove on
your left so make sure to take him out on your way down. Divvy your blows
accordingly and eliminate them through whatever favorite method you have at this
point. You can also use the MOP BUCKET to throw at them as well as the PLANT
POTS. Once they are dead continue to the door at the far end and proceed through
it. A brief cutscene again takes over.
Kit walks into the X-ray room to see another large thug waiting for him. The
thug walks towards you while saying: "This modern medicine is amazing."
Simply attack with a vengeance to overwhelm him and COUNTER needed. Try
unleashing your ADRENALINE combo midway through a regular combo to really rack
up the hits. You can also GRAB him and SMASH HIM AROUND. As soon as he starts to
get up again, unleash some more strikes r throw the PLANT POT/GARBAGE CAN at him
and he should quite easily be defeated. Now exit through the door for another
brief cinematic showing the nurse running down the hall with the wheelchair.
As you gain control again you'll see four thugs ahead. Wait for the first two to
run up and then dispatch them with ease by divvying up some combos between the
two. Now move up and kill the other two goons by using the same method.
Additionally you can GRAB and SMASH THEM or throw some melee items at them. When
you have finished them go through the door at the end of the hallway to trigger
    the next cutscene.
Kit walks into the operating room and is met by three large goons inside. One of
them is busy electrocuting the doctor while saying: "Let's run some tests on
this guy. Ha Ha Ha Ha!"
Immediately attack the guy on the left and unleash a combo. Use the operating
table in the middle as a way to divide and conquer these thugs. If you
aggressively attack them you should be able to overwhelm and keep them off
guard. Use your ADRENALINE attacks during your combos to gain massive amounts of
hits and remember to divvy your blows around so as not to get caught from
behind. Once they too are dead proceed through the door to trigger yet another
The nurse reaches the end of the hallway by the elevator. The elevator doors
then open and she instructs another thug to: "Take her. Her friend here also
needs some medical attention." With that she turns to walk towards you. Kit
starts running towards her as she runs towards him and then leaps by her while
landing a back kick in her back. She staggers a bit and then turns to fight.
Mui Lin has some wicked combos and scissor kicks but can easily be defeated by
simply COUNTERING her initial blow and then unleashing a combo while she is
momentarily stunned. GRABBING, although possible, is very risky and often causes
you to eat some combos in return. Initially, try to throw as many Melee Items at
her as you can. If you don't, she will. If she throws Items at you, simply
COUNTER them and wait for her to exhaust them. Unleash an ADRENALINE attack on
her midway through a regular combo to rack up a lot of hits quickly. You can
also JUMP Kick off the walls to send her flying. When she falls down, get behind
her and unleash another combo as she gets up again into her back. Follow these
directions and in no time at all Mui Lin will be defeated.
Kit walks to the elevator doors and waits for a moment until they open. A gunman
with two UZI'S appears and opens fire. Kit quickly jumps backwards onto his
hands while kicking the gunman's guns out of his hands and then quickly springs
forward again, kicking him and then sending him reeling back into the elevator
with a vicious uppercut. Kit then catches both UZI'S stylishly and walks into
the elevator. As the doors close the thug gains consciousness momentarily until
Kit knocks him out again with a casual heel kick.
    Location: Hospital (Lower Level)
    Scenario Type: Shooting / Survival
Gameplay Tips: Use your "L2" button to look for targetable objects wherever a
tough situation awaits. Use your hiding spots to avoid taking
unnecessary damage. Time your assailants firing patterns and try
to anticipate their moves. Dual Targeting is key here as is
divvying up your shots so as to keep multiple shooters off guard.
Kit is still inside the elevator as it arrives. He hears a thug outside barking
the following orders: "We know he's in there. When the doors open, blast him!"
As the elevator doors open remain in a hiding pose inside. Two thugs open fire
from across the way and there are two more behind them. Time their pattern and
then run to the other side of the elevator while taking the first two out. Now
HIDE again and observe the firing pattern of the gunmen behind and then repeat
this process again as you run to the other side of the elevator while killing
Now run out of the elevator and immediately run back inside as two goons
adrenaline dive into the hallway and open fire. Another one comes crashing
through the window on the left. Now either use an ADRENALINE Dive out of the
elevator as you take them out or simply strafe in and out while firing.
More gunmen will appear down the hall and you must take them out while seeking
cover either by the vending alcove on the left or by the white medicine cart on
    the right.
Once you have killed them three more gunmen appear further down the hall. Two
are shooting semi automatic weapons so stay behind the medicine cabinet. (The
guy who runs up will not come around the medicine cabinet) Simply time their
pattern and then take them out. Now move from hiding spot to hiding spot until
another gunman adrenaline dives out from the left. Time him and then give him a
free visitors pass to the morgue.
Once he is dead go to the white hiding spot on the right. (It is the last one)
Take a moment to survey the end of the hallway. There are two gunmen who are
hiding behind the copy machines at the end but if you look closely you'll notice
the EXPLODING CANNISTERS in front of both hiding spots. Keep your finger on the
"L2" and then run and or ADRENALINE Dive while you blow them both to
smithereens. Both gunmen will die from the blast. (NOTE: Both gunmen must be
visible when you blow the CANNISTERS otherwise their hiding spots will protect
them) Once they are dead the doors open at the end for you to proceed.
As you enter the next hallway stay on the left side and head for the alcove. A
brief cinematic will zoom down the hallway to show a machine-gun wielding thug
behind the desk. Notice the EXPLODING CANNISTER right in front? As soon as you
regain control, HIDE in the alcove to avoid and observe his stream of fire. He
fires left to right with a momentary pause in between. When the stream comes to
you and stops, run to the hiding place on the right. Always try to run ahead of
the stream of fire and you will make it to every hiding spot unscathed. Keep
moving from hiding spot to hiding spot until you get to the last white medicine
cabinet on the left side. Now simply wait for his stream of fire to go towards
the right and then run out, target the EXPLODING CANNISTER by using "L2" and
BOOM! (King Kong ain't got nothing on you!) Once he is dead, head through the
door on the right into the next area.
As soon as you enter this next hallway a thug comes out from behind the white
medicine cabinet on the left. Light him up as another comes crashing through the
glass on the left. A second one shoots from inside the window too. Shoot them as
you take cover by the corner on the right and then wait until two more gunmen
come up from the hall. Use an ADRENALINE Dive if you like or simply time and
then eradicate them. Now continue down past the window and shoot the perp behind
the window on the right. Now move from hiding spot to hiding spot and take out
the gunman in the window on the left. Now simply run up to the gurney (Stretcher
    on wheels) and USE it.
As soon as Kit hops onto the gurney it goes sailing down the hallway. Two gunmen
will jump out of each window you pass(8 total) but if you simply keep firing and
use "L2" to target and shoot every EXPLODING CANNISTER along the way, you will
have no difficulties whatsoever. When you get to the far end of the hallway the
gurney will topple over a desk and you should immediately get up and HIDE behind
it. (ADRENALINE Dive and kill the last two gunmen if they weren't killed on your
    way down here)
Two punk rocker looking thugs with bulletproof vests will now come and start
throwing EXPLODING CANNISTERS at you. If you HIDE they will simply fly
harmlessly passed you. The trick to defeating them is using your "L2" button to
target the CANNISTERS while the thugs approach but hide if they get to close.
(It takes 5 shots to blow a CANNISTER) Take your time and they will eventually
    die from the explosions.
A brief cinematic shows another elevator door opening nearby. Walk in and Kit
will push the top floor button with his UZI and then ready himself for more
    Location: Hospital (Upper Floor)
    Scenario Type: Shooting
Gameplay Tips: Same as before really. Use hiding spots to avoid unnecessary
damage. Target EXPLODING CANNISTERS when enemies are nearby. Use
your ADRTENALINE Dives to your advantage.
As the elevator doors open head to your right side. A brief camera zoom will
reveal another machine gunner at the far end of the hallway. Immediately take
cover behind the right corner and observe his left to right firing pattern. When
the bullets come to you, run ahead of them and HIDE behind the medicine cabinet
of the left. (You should have just enough time to make it without being hit) Two
gunmen will then come out from the alcoves on either side ahead. Wait for the
machine gun stream to steer away and then patiently shoot the two thugs while
repeatedly HIDING again to avoid the machine gunner's stream of fire. Once they
are dead wait again for the stream to momentarily pause by you and then run
ahead of it towards the hiding spot on the right. (Alternately you can run along
the left wall to HIDE by the vending alcove) Continue from hiding spot to hiding
spot until you are positioned behind the medicine cart on the left right before
the gunner. Now simply wait for his stream to steer away from you and then run
up and use "L2" to target and blow the EXPLODING CANNISTER in front of him. The
explosion will kill him instantly and the door on the left side will open for
    you to proceed.
As soon as you enter this next hallway take cover behind the corner on the
right. Two thugs come crashing through the window on the left and another runs
up from down the hall. Take out the nearest gunman and you'll notice that the
other two have decided to hide on either side behind objects. Stick to the right
side and HIDE behind the second drawer chest where the first gunman is hiding.
He will then adrenaline dive away and remain in the open. Now simply time and
kill him. The next victim is hiding behind the white medicine cart on the left.
As you approach another set of gunmen appear from the windows and corner ahead.
Immediately shoot the nearest one and simultaneously use "L2" to target and blow
the EXPLODING CANNISTER in the middle ahead. If timed right it will kill the
second nearest enemy. (There is nothing wrong with retreating back to hiding
spots if the gun battle gets too intense) The last two gunmen will cartwheel
from left to right down the hall. Use the hiding spot where the CANNISTER was to
take them out one at a time while dodging their return fire. Now stay on the
right side as you continue until a brief cinematic shows two gunmen with machine
guns taking aim at you from behind the window at the far end of the hallway.
Immediately take cover by the alcove on your right and analyze their firing
habits. Time them and then either ADRENALINE Dive and shoot them. (Alternately
you can just pop in and out of the hiding spot and target the EXPLODING
CANNISTER on the left) Once they are dead go to the gurney and USE it.
As soon as you begin sailing on the gurney gunmen again start diving out of the
window behind you. Keep firing and targeting EXPLODING CANNISTERS and you should
have no problems at all. There are a total of 8 thugs that you need to kill
here. Once the gurney ride ends, kill the last two by ADRENALINE Diving to avoid
their gunfire. The doorway will then open and as you proceed, Kit discards his
weapons and the cutscene kicks in.
Kit is shown running around a corner and into the walkway that connects the two
wings of the hospital. The camera then shows a big thug in a gray suit entering
the door on the far side. He has two detonators in his hands. The camera quickly
zooms back to Kit who realizes this and looks down to see that the entire
walkway has been rigged with explosives. He immediately runs forward in slow
motion and the first blast sends him flying through the air and landing in a
    double roll.
Location: Walkway that connects hospital buildings
    Scenario Type: Outrun
Gameplay Tips: Stay centered and keep running and JUMPING whenever prompted.
Don't try to run around debris that doesn't completely block your
path because it will cost you precious seconds. JUMP over
                   everything fluidly.
As soon as you have control start outrunning the explosions. You will need to
JUMP over 10 obstacles in order to clear this scene. The key is simply to run
straight down the middle of the walkway and JUMP every single pile of debris.
Some of the piles will try to fool you into running around them but the time it
takes to re-center yourself will cost you dearly. Stay centered and JUMP fluidly
over each pile and the cutscene will kick once you get to the other end of the
Kit bursts through the door on the other side onto the roof just in time to see
the helicopter taking off with Michelle inside. Just then Victor Lau walks up
behind him and asks: "What now?" Kit responds: "I'm going to get her back."
Victor Lau then reminds Kit: "Remember Kwan's our link to taking down the
operation. Don't do anything rash." Kit responds: "I have to get Michelle."
Victor then goes on: "How do you know he won't kill her?" Kit holds up the
letter and replies: "Because I still have what he wants." With that he walks
    Location: Kwan's Penthouse Office
    Scenario Type: CUTSCENE ONLY!!
    Gameplay Tips: N/N
Kwan's office interior is shown as he walks towards Michelle who is slouched
over in one of the chairs. Four bodyguards stand watch as the Hong Kong skyline
can be seen through the huge surrounding windows. Kwan lifts up her face as we
see her still extremely groggy from whatever drugs the nurse in the hospital
gave her. As he lets go her head simply nods forward again. He walks toward the
window and begins to laugh in a very sinister fashion as the camera pans back to
show the entire building and immediate surroundings. His laughter can be heard
    from far away.
The camera next shows us Kit who is on an adjacent building and can hear the
laughter. He quickly descends the exterior ladder to the bottom and arrives at
the sewer entrance. He then starts to walk into the damp looking tunnel.
    Location: Sewers
    Scenario Type: Stealth / Subdue
Gameplay Tips: Analyze enemy patrol patterns before moving in. Beware the double
take they may do. JUMP and walk over the scaffoldings to
completely avoid certain guards. Don't walk into the steam as it
will cost you a lot of health.
The camera zooms through the sewer while passing two patrolling guards and a rat
scurrying along. At the corner Kit is seen arriving and observing the guards.
As soon as you gain control HIDE at the corner here and observe this first guard
as he walks towards you. As soon as he turns to walk away again, sneak up behind
and take him out. Now observe the guard ahead and also take care of him when he
walks away. (Oddly enough you can run right up into their backs and they won't
get alarmed) Now HIDE midway around the corner and wait for the patrolling guard
to appear. When he checks his watch and begins to turn, run up behind and render
him useless as well. Now run and HIDE in the doorway on your left while the
guard is at the far end of the tunnel. He will walk almost to where you are
before turning back. Once he turns, he will take a few steps and then quickly
look back again. Don't get caught being greedy! After his double take you can
easily run up behind him to finish his tour of duty. (Alternately you can JUMP
up onto the scaffolding on the right and time him from there)
Continue to the next bend now and wait for the guard to complete his walk
towards you. (Stay out of the flashlight's range) As soon as he turns run up
behind him and take him out.
Continue around the bend and you'll see a 5 or so second plume of steam blocking
the path every 5 seconds. (Steam hurts damnit!) As soon as the plume ends you
can quickly pass the danger zone and the HIDE at the corner by the wooden beam
on your right. Observe the patrolling guard ahead and as he turns, introduce him
to the after life. Wait for the nearest patrolling guard to turn and walk away
from you and then walk up towards him but as soon as you spot the guard who's
seated in the doorway on the left, turn back to safety. The guard in the dark
will go on alert and turn his flashlight on. After his brief patrol however, his
flashlight will begin to flicker you can easily approach him for the kill. Now
either SMASH the next guard with the chair as he walks into range or time his
movements from while remaining just out of his field of vision. (If you hide in
the doorway he will spot you.) Now look up ahead and you'll see two guards. One
is walking back and forth while the other idly leans up against the scaffolding
with his flashlight turned off. Remain just out of range and wait for the
patrolling guard to do his double take before then quickly JUMPING and
CLIMBIMBING up on to scaffolding. (The JUMP prompt is triggered when by the
corner) Now simply bypass these two and drop down from the corner at the far end
of this scaffolding. Now simply walk towards the steam vent on your left and a
    brief cutscene will take over.
Kit walks past the steam vent as it suddenly turns on behind him thereby
eliminating all possibilities of turning back from this point. A guard is seen
patrolling just out of range and walking out of view.
    Location: Sewers
    Scenario Type: Stealth / Subdue
Gameplay Tips: Analyze enemy patrol patterns before moving in for the kill.
Beware of the double takes that some patrolling guards may do.
JUMP and CLIMB up onto the scaffoldings to completely avoid and
safely bypass certain guards. Don't walk into the steam plumes as
                   it will cost you health.
Walk around the corner time the steam plume before walking up to the guard who
is stationed just up ahead while staring permanently away. Take him out before
he develops a rash from all that ass scratching and then observe the next
patrolling guard while remaining very close to the steam plume you just passed.
After he comes out of the alcove on the left, wait for him to do a double take
and an ass scratch before running up and permanently removing him from duty. Now
stay out of the next guard's range as you JUMP up onto the scaffolding on the
left and bypass him. (You can take him out as he walks by beneath you)
Time the next plume of steam and bypass it and then immediately take note of the
flashlight beam shining out of the alcove on the left. JUMP to climb up onto the
scaffolding on your right and simply bypass the beam of light and then drop down
from the corner at the end and HIDE. A guard will walk up before turning back on
his patrol. When he turns wait for his version of the now famous double take by
the plume of steam ahead and then quickly come up behind him as though you were
    death personified.
Now get as close to the plume of steam as possible and observe the patrol
pattern of the guard on the other side. The key is to bypass the plume just
after he checks the time on his watch and turns to walk away. (I usually let him
go through one or even two patrols before I feel the timing is right) Now stay
out of the next guard's range and JUMP to climb up onto the scaffolding on the
right. Now walk along as you bypass the first two guards and then immediately
stop and observe the beam of light coming from the alcove on the left. The beam
moves up and down but briefly nudges up again. In order to pass it you need to
stay just out of range and then wait for it to actually briefly point down to
the floor itself before running past it. Immediately drop down at the corner and
run to the next scaffolding and JUMP up without delay to avoid being spotted by
the guard who steps out from the alcove on the right ahead. Observe his pattern
and take note that his double take is really a triple take. Wait for him to
actually walk beneath you and then drop down for the kill.
Now bypass the plume of steam and JUMP up onto the scaffolding on your right.
Completely ignore him and the next one as you walk along the top all the way to
the far end. Stay up top at the end and observe the patrolling guard up ahead.
He will walk all the way towards you before turning back. Immediately drop down
and kill him as he turns to walk away and take note of the light beam emanating
from the alcove on the left there. JUMP up onto the scaffolding and bypass the
next group of complaining guards and then drop down at the far end to trigger
    the cutscene.
Kit stealthily walks around the bend but then quickly jumps up onto the
scaffolding to avoid being spotted by a patrolling guard. As the guard briefly
stops, Kit drops down and takes him out with a chop to the back of the head. He
then momentarily muses at his handy work before running around the bend and out
    of view.
    Location: Self-Explanatory
    Scenario Type: Brawl
Gameplay Tips: Save your health by COUNTERING frequently to keep the masses of
your back. When attacking strike two or three times before
immediately COUNTERING again behind you. GRABS and THROWS should
only be saved for the last few thugs if you so choose. Use your
ADRENALINE meter whenever possible and slap the "R3" stick in a
circular fashion to unleash some pain. During the second wave you
can kill the bigger guards by COUNTERING them with one arm
                   twisting heel kick.
Kit is shown running into a huge industrial size boiler room, which houses all
of the equipment that powers the building above. Four guards and two larger
guards (The guy who blew the whistle every time you got spotted) jump down from
    the railing and surround you.
The best strategy to employ during this battle is attacking with two and three
hit combinations followed up with an immediate COUNTER. If you stick to this
regimen you should barely get hit. Do not waste your time GRABBING hold of
enemies because there will always be another to strike you during the process.
If you get surrounded, remain in a COUNTERING position and then strike once or
twice followed with an immediate COUNTER to sweep all the enemies down. Once
your ADRENALINE meter is full, use it and attack with your "R3" stick in a
circular fashion so as to keep as many of them off guard as possible. Follow up
halfway through with another COUNTER. A few more guards join the fight as others
perish but following the above-mentioned strategy should take care of business.
When the last one dies a short cinematic takes over.
The camera follows another guard who is seen running up onto the railing
overlooking where you are and then jumping down into the battle space. There are
already three other guards as well as two bigger guards with riot gear on
    surrounding Kit.
Follow the same strategy as before except rely even more so on your COUNTERS.
The bigger guards when COUNTERED will get their arm twisted followed with a heel
kick to the back and immediately die. Use the two or three hit attacks followed
by a COUNTER on the rest and crush anyone who gets separated from the group.
GRABS are not recommended here either since others will attack you thereby
nullifying the hold. As you kill these guys several more join in for a grand
total of around 20-24. If using ADRENALINE attacks remember to perform them
circularly and interrupt it with a COUNTER to stay ahead of the next aggressors.
Once you have killed the last one another brief cinematic takes over again.
A larger thug with a white shirt and ponytail runs in and hops over the railing
in the back before diving into the battle space. Other guards can be seen in the
background dropping in from the railing above on the other side. You find
yourself surrounded this time by two regular guards, two of these pony tailed
thugs as well as two of the larger guards with riot gear on.
Continue with the same strategy as with the previous two waves and COUNTER after
every two or three hits that were divvied around. Remember that the riot gear
guards will die when COUNTERED with the arm twisting animation. The pony-tailed
thugs can simply be attacked and COUNTERED along with the regular guards. And as
with the last waves more will come as victims die at your feet. Once you have
killed the last one, head over to the ladder and JUMP up onto the walkway
leading out of this area. Run down the other end and follow the hallway at the
far end alongside the pipes. When you get to the end where the trapdoor is open,
JUMP up to hang from the metal bar and then shimmy along to the other side in
order to bypass the pitfall. Run around the bend and onto the walkway leading
into the next boiler room. Your health meter will replenish...(CONTINUE NEXT

can kill the bigger guards by COUNTERING them with one arm
                   twisting heel kick.
Drop down from the walkway to trigger a short cinematic sequence.
Kit drops down from the walkway and walks towards the other side as Six guards
in gray uniforms show up from all angles and completely surround him. Several
bark orders like: "Stick him!" and "Come on Get him!".
As soon as the action begins unleash a circular ADRENALINE attack. Since they
all attack simultaneously. Now use the same strategy as you did during the
previous chapter by striking out once or twice and then immediately COUNTERING
to knock additional aggressors back. Several more thugs keep showing up as you
fight including the pony-tailed goons in white. COUNTER everything that comes
your way and strike whenever possible as you defeat this first wave of thugs.
During the brawl a brief cinematic shows a large guard jumping down from the
walkway above while wielding an electrically charged stick.
As the fight continues simply continue with COUNTER attacks and he will quickly
drop the weapon. Pick up the ELECTRIC STICK but keep following the two to three
strike method followed by a COUNTER to avoid being hit needlessly. The ELECTRIC
STICK will give you some added leverage though. (Whenever you COUNTER or simply
strike an enemy with the ELECTRIC STICK the charge will kill him)
As this brawl continues without a break in between, another ELECTRIC STICK
wielding guard shows up cinematically. Repeat the strike to COUNTERING technique
and then pick up the second ELECTRIC STICK as it becomes available. Now fight
off and shock another 20-25 assailants while still COUNTERING as necessary
before the battle comes to an end. (With both ELECTRIC STICKS you should clearly
have the upper hand) Once the battle is won, CLIMB up the stairs on the opposite
walkway and run towards the tunnel bend at the far end to trigger a brief
TIP: Just keep running up on the ladder by holding "R1" and then press both "L1
+ R1" when he lands to execute the BACK FLIP KICK. This move will help you
out a lot as the move knocks everyone around you down until they die. Since
there are no other walls here you can only run up the ladder. Once you get
both ELECTRIC STICKS you should be unstoppable.
Kit runs around the bend to find a ladder leading up into the building above. He
briefly pauses to glance at the building blueprint, which is posted on the wall
next to the ladder and then proceeds to climb it. The camera then shows us a
momentary close up of the building map.
Location: Atrium in office building above the Boiler Rooms
    Scenario Type: Shooting / Survival
Gameplay Tips: Head to the right and tae cover wherever you can. Couches and
cartons will only protect you for a short while. Analyze the
enemy firing patterns when it comes to the machine gunners. Use
"L2" to target the TV's above key enemies. Abuse your ADRENALINE
Dives when moving from spot to spot and take advantage of the
endlessly spawning gunmen to constantly refill your ADRENALINE
                   METER before moving on.
Kit rolls into the scene and stealthily moves along the wall towards the corner.
A guard with two LASER SCOPED HAND GUNS is seen approaching the corner and Kit
quickly kicks him unconscious. Gun fire is heard as Kit picks up the sweet
looking guns off the floor. He then quickly strafes out and begins returning
fire to the three shooters on the opposite side of the atrium before hiding
again behind a pillar. After a brief delay he Adrenaline Dives out from behind
the pillar and takes out all three gunmen in style.
As soon as you gain control go and HIDE behind the cubicle right next to the
pillar where you are. From the safety of your hiding spot you can observe the
situation across the way. Notice the gray TV's that are hanging above some of
the gunmen? Wait for the gun fire to momentarily calm and the ADRENALINE Dive
while targeting and shooting the TV's and whatever else you can. Immediately run
and shoot as you make your way to briefly HIDE behind the couch along the
railing. (Note: This couch will only offer brief protection before
disintegrating) As soon as the machine gunner on the other side briefly stops
firing, target and shoot down the TV above his head as you make your way towards
the next office chair just to the right. (Keep shooting while running from spot
to spot) Stay here only for a moment and then quickly move towards the screen so
as to be able to HIDE behind the near cubicle. Now head to the right side of the
cubicle where you are and HIDE again to observe the next couple of gunmen under
ADRENALINE Dive or simply run out and shoot the TV's during a lull but do not
hide behind the little cart with boxes on it as it will not stand up to much gun
fire at all. Instead keep shooting until you are able to HIDE behind the cubicle
right next to it. (You can easily refill your ADRENALINE meter by shooting the
weaker gunmen from the left side as the arrive) HIDE at the right corner of the
cubicle now and during a lull, target and shoot down the TV on the far side.
Then ADRENALINE Dive while shooting and quickly take cover behind the couch.
Keep shooting and run from fragile hiding spot to hiding spot along the railing
until you are HIDING behind the file cabinet. Use this vantage point to pop in
and out as you kill shooters while refilling your ADRENALINE meter. Now head
down screen again to take cover behind the near cubicle. (You can also duck in
to the cubicles if the heat is too much or you are low on Health)
Move to the right side of the cubicle wall and then use the lull in gunfire to
HIDE in the cubicle thereby bringing you closer to the railing again. Now
ADRENALINE Dive and shoot like mad and keep heading right along the railing as
you finally get to the far side. (You must stick to the railing at the corner) A
    brief cutscene will ensue.
The camera shows the stairwell leading to the second balcony above as Kit comes
into view still firing round back towards the gunmen he just passed. He fires a
few extra shots for good measure and then turns in slow motion as he begins to
run up the stairwell and arrives on the second floor overlooking the atrium.
Location: Atrium above Boiler Rooms (Second Floor)
    Scenario Type: Shooting / Survival
Gameplay Tips: Same as before. Abuse your ADRENALINE Dives. Target and shoot
TV's to crush protected shooters. Use your hiding spots to refill
your ADRENALINE meter by taking out weaker gunmen that re-spawn.
Don't seek refuge behind the cart with boxes. Couches, chairs and
barrels can only take so much. Wait for lulls in gunfire before
heading top the next hiding spot.
Head left and quickly hide behind the file cabinet at the corner as the first
gunmen begin shooting at you. As soon as there is a brief pause ADRENALINE Dive
while targeting and shooting the three TV's on the other side. As you land keep
shooting until you are safely hidden behind either the couch (Which doesn't
survive more than two lulls) or better yet the file cabinet next to the cubicle.
Now wait for the next brief pause and then quickly move and HIDE on the left
side of the cubicle and prepare for the next set of shooters. As soon as there
is a lull in the action run left along the railing while shooting the TV's to
fill your ADRENALINE meter and quickly HIDE in the cubicle. Again wait for a
lull before shooting and moving to the rear of these two cubicles. When the
pause in gunfire again arrives, HIDE on the left most edge of the cubicle wall.
Now wait for another lull in the action and then shoot the TV ahead while moving
up and HIDING in the same cubicle. (The TV shot should have refilled your
ADRENALINE meter) Wait again for a lull and then quickly ADRENALINE Dive to the
left as you shoot the other two TV's. (Make sure you ADRENALINE Dive along the
railing so as not to get stuck behind the adjacent cubicle which will only delay
    your progress)
As you land continue shooting and quickly HIDE behind the chair after the couch.
Wait for the first lull and then shoot as you run to the foreground so as to
quickly hide behind the two cubicles here. Wait again before HIDING on the left
most edge of the cubicle wall. As the next lull arrives quickly move up and hide
in the cubicle and then wait for the next pause before ADRENALINE Diving along
the railing while shooting the TV's and gunmen in flight. Upon landing quickly
take up hiding in the cubicle there. Wait for a lull before shooting and moving
into the rear cubicle and then repeat this process again as you make your way to
the rear of the row of three cubicles and quickly position yourself on the left
    most edge again.
Wait for a lull and then run towards the railing while shooting and targeting
the TV and quickly HIDE behind the file cabinet. (The barrels are not a safe
hiding place - Only use if extremely low on health) If you shot the TV's you
ought to have a full ADRENALINE meter so wait for the lull and then ADRENALINE
Dive while shooting down the next TV's and quickly HIDE behind the couch. (If
you cannot ADRENALINE Dive then simply use the chair as a hiding spot before
shooting the TV's and then continue to the couch) Once behind the couch simply
wait for the very next lull and then shoot while running left and run passed the
cart with boxes as the end is right there. (Hiding behind the boxes is more of a
trap than anything else) You can also ADRENALINE Dive as soon as you see the
boxes to avoid being killed by a last stray bullet. Once you get here the
    cutscene will kick in.
Kit runs ahead to the elevator at the far end of the Atrium and then quickly
stops as the doors open to reveal another gunman inside. As he begins to open
fire Kit Adrenaline dives out of the way while filling him with more lead than
your average #2 pencil. Afterwards Kit enters the elevator and turns with a
serious look on his face as the doors close.
Location: Bar / Lounge in building above the Atrium
Scenario Type: Shooting / Boss Fight
Gameplay Tips: During the first portion simply head to the lower left corner to
easily dispatch all aggressors. Shooters only appear from the
left railing. BOSS FIGHT strategies found in walkthrough.
Bullets are shot at the elevator doors in anticipation of Kit's arrival. As the
doors open the elevator appears empty. Two thugs walk cautiously to inspect as
several more can briefly be seen in the bar behind them. As they peek inside,
Kit comes swinging out from the ceiling while rendering them both unconscious.
Kit then proceeds to walk through the lounge while shooting several gunmen that
are positioned on all sides. Several thugs then drop down and surround Kit who
still has his guns pointed. These thugs however are only armed with melee
As soon as you gain control quickly ADRENALINE Dive towards the lower left
corner while shooting whoever you can. Once you are located by the stairs next
to the bar you should be able to kill all assailants without concern. (I like to
position myself right by the opening to the bar) Keep your guns blazing as thugs
attack and after a short while you'll notice the first laser-scoped gunman
hopping over the railing on your left. (Remember the CHOP SHOP SHOOTOUT?) From
this point on, start divvying up your stream of fire by prioritizing these
gunmen as most important. There are a total of 17 gunmen who will hop over the
railing but none will come from anywhere else. Once you have killed this army of
assailants a brief cutscene will take over.
Kit runs back towards the elevator but stops in his tracks as the doors open to
reveal FEI and HUNG, the same twins he faced much earlier on the Hong Kong
Rooftops. As the exit the elevator one of them says: "Remember us? Ha Ha Ha
Ha!!!" They then briefly pose as Kit also readies himself for battle and then
they both simultaneously leap kick through the air towards Kit who gracefully
dodges their leaping kicks in slow motion. As they land on the other side the
    battle begins
This time around it's a battle to the death with these two. Begin by COUNTERING
their attacks and then unleash a short combo whenever the opportunity presents
itself. After a short while they will take turns leap kicking at you. COUNTER
the kicks and one of them will momentarily hunch over as he catches his breath.
Unleash a full-fledged combo on him and then quickly COUNTER his brother who
will lunge. Continue COUNTERING and landing short combos until they start doing
their brothers-in-arms tandem attack. It is the same move that they used in the
earlier battle and if you sidestep it you can easily land a full-fledged combo
or ADRENALINE attack on both from behind. They are extremely vulnerable to
attack from behind. Basically as long as you COUNTER and wait for your openings
the battle will remain in your favor. Once you have killed the second brother a
brief cutscene takes over. (I fought the entire battle in the center of the
FEI (or HUNG depending on who dies last) staggers to his feet as Kit comes
sailing through the air with a flying kick that sends FEI crashing through the
window behind him. His brother HUNG is then shown getting up and running in slow
motion before diving through the broken window after his brother. He screams:
"Brother! I'll save you!" He grasps FEI's hand just before he falls from the
ledge but the weight is too much to hold and he too is dragged over the edge as
well. Both brothers then fall to their death while screaming to the bitter end.
Kit then enters the elevator and presses the top floor button before the doors
Location: Kwan's Office on the top floor
Scenario Type: Final Battle. 3-Part Boss Fight.
Gameplay Tips: Save the office chair for the second phase of the battle if you
can. GRAB Kwan to get fresh air while depleting his life during
phase two by GRABBING at, immediately BLOCKING and then quickly
GRABBING again. Play the COUNTERING game in phase 3 to unleash
the NO SHADOW KICK and then quickly GRAB Michelle to boost up her
                   health meter.
The elevator doors open to reveal Kwan's oversized office that is surrounded by
windows. Kit walks out of the elevator and says to Kwan: "I have what you're
after. Let her go." (Referring to Michelle) Kwan is then shown next to a still
sleepy Michelle as he replies: "You've been nothing but a pain in the ass to me.
Now I just want you dead." To this Kit simply says: "Then I will have to
disappoint you." Kit then immediately charges toward Kwan who quickly grabs
Michelle and throws her through the window and onto the balcony outside before
jumping over his desk and then charging towards Kit himself.
    |BOSS BATTLE: KWAN (Phase 1)|
During the first portion of this battle you should simply COUNTER constantly
until you get your hit in. Often time this will seem like a stalemate game as he
is also looking to counter you. Keep COUNTERING and Kit will start unleashing
his NO SHADOW KICK on Kwan. (A 7-Hit flurry of flying kicks to the face/chest)
It is important to not let your guard down as Kwan will then quickly grapple you
to the floor for some punishment. I recommend leaving the chair for the second
phase of the battle but you can obviously use it to momentarily stun him before
unleashing a combo or ADRENALINE attack. Once his health reaches to around 25% a
    brief cutscene will kick in.
TIP: Keep "L1 + R1" pressed constantly and just keep tapping "R3" in Kwan's
direction to win the COUNTERING match thereby triggering the No Shadow
NOTE: The NO SHADOW KICK is only triggered by winning an extensive COUNTERING
match with Kwan. No other enemy in the game has the wherewithal to COUNTER
so much which makes it impossible to use this particular COUNTER kick on
anyone else. (There is however a variation available while launching
ADRENALINE attacks - See ADRENALINE Section for TIP 5)
Kwan leans back against his desk and tries to catch his breath from the beating
Kit just administered. He then quickly reaches behind his desk and presses a
button, which causes all the windows to be sealed by steel plates that slide
down from above. Kit looks around as the entire room is sealed and poisonous gas
starts to seep through the vents. Meanwhile Kwan dons a gas mask and casually
walks back to fight Kit again.
    |BOSS BATTLE: KWAN (Phase 2)|
As you regain control you will immediately notice a new AIR meter under your
BLOCK meter. The key to survival is by not running out of air. The way you
achieve this is by GRABBING Kwan (R1 + R3 towards him) and taking his gas mask
for a quick recharge of clean air. You can only perform this move until your
BLOCK meter runs out and then Kwan will immediately retaliate with a wrist grab
and kick. As soon as you let go of the gas mask immediately COUNTER this move.
Also, if you saved the chair from the previous phase you can use it now when he
is nearby to smash it in his grill. It is important to note that grabbing him
after the second time requires you to first COUNTER his attack (Which is scarce
since he is more interested in avoiding you) and then immediately following up
    with the GRAB move.
The best method after the second GRAB is to GRAB at him and then immediately
COUNTER his retaliatory blow before GRABBING him again and getting the mask.
Also, if you knock him down try to position yourself beside him to GRAB him
easier as he begins to get back up. You should also use the chair now if you
saved it from the previous phase of the battle. Lastly, if you can get behind
him after knocking him down, you can easily unleash a combo to ADRENALINE attack
for major damage. Once his health meter reaches to around 25% again the cutscene
    will take over.
Tip: usually Kwan will dodge the first GRAB attempt and then retaliate with a
Quick punch followed by a jumping kick. BLOCK this kick, and then
immediately grab him again. Usually this second grab will be a successful
one. The key to remember is that if you COUNTER his retaliatory blow
instead of BLOCKING it, he may be pushed far away from Kit, and the
stun time may not be long enough for you to reach and grab him.
         (Credit: kslin88)
TIP 2: Get him near the walls to be able to more effectively land combos.
NOTE: If you die during this phase you can restart here again.
Kwan staggers behind the desk again and sets the gas mask down as he presses
another button that reverses the steel plates and shuts off the gas. As the
steel plates are drawn from the surrounding windows, Michelle can be seen
getting to her feet outside on the balcony. Kwan then quickly kicks her while
Kit runs towards them and this sends Michelle sailing over the edge of the
balcony and holding on for dear life with just one hand. Kwan approaches to
knock her off completely but is intercepted by Kit who blocks his kicks and
sends Kwan stumbling backwards. Michelle cries out to Kit: "Help me!" but as he
tries to pull her up Kwan grabs Kit and throws him to the side. Michelle is
still hanging as Kit gets to his feet to face Kwan again.
    |BOSS BATTLE: KWAN (Phase 3)|
As soon as you gain control immediately COUNTER Kwan's attack. Keep COUNTERING
Kwan and playing the stalemate game until you unleash the No Shadow Kick (See
Phase 1) and then quickly run to Michelle and GRAB her (R1 + R3 towards her) to
instantly give her health meter a boost. You cannot literally pull her up from
the balcony but the key is to keep her strength intact while you defeat Kwan.
Now repeat the COUNTERING game with Kwan again until you unleash another No
Shadow Kick and then again GRAB Michelle. Repeat this process several times
until Kwan is defeated and the final cutscenes will take over. Additionally if
you can get behind Kwan while he gets to his feet you can easily unleash a 4 hit
combo before unloading a full-fledged ADRENALINE attack. (This will take a good
chunk of life away from him)
TIP: When playing the COUNTERING game with Kwan, keep tapping the "R3" stick in
his direction to maximize the chances for the No Shadow Kick. Keep "L1 +
         R1" pressed constantly.
TIP 2: You only have to momentarily GRAB Michelle to give her the full boost of
health. (The kick Kwan gives you while grabbing her is non-threatening)
NOTE: If you die during this phase you can restart here again.
Kit unleashes another kick on Kwan that sends him flying backwards and onto the
ground right near Michelle. Kwan turns to try and punch her hand as she calls
out: "Kit!!!" Kit quickly kicks Kwan again out of the way and then grabs
Michelle's arm and pulls her up to safety. Just then Lt. Victor Lau and other
police officers arrive on the scene. Lau says: "We'll take it from here Kit..."
Kit turns to Michelle and asks: "Are you alright?" to which she responds: "I
will be." She then walks over to Kwan who is being restrained by Lau and two
other cops. She shoves Lau out of the way and gives Kwan a fitting backhand slap
before grabbing him by the collar and saying: "Scum like you should rot in
hell." The two cops then start to drag Kwan away as Lau says to Michelle: "Well,
he's going to rot alright...in prison." Upon hearing that Kwan breaks free from
the grasp of the two cops and looks towards Lau while saying: "I'm not going
alone." He then draws a gun but is quickly kicked to the ground by Kit and then
restrained by the cops. To everyone's surprise Victor Lau then shoots Kwan dead.
They all look at Lau as he simply says: "It's over now." Kit has a distrustful
look in his eyes as Lau walks out of the scene and the cops tend to the dead
    hoodlum turned king.
    Location: Hong Kong Cemetery
    Scenario Type: CUTSCENE ONLY!!
    Gameplay Tips: N/A
The camera then shows us Michelle and Kit who are paying homage to Boss Chiang
Shiu Tin at his grave site right beside Kit's fathers plot. Michelle is kneeling
before it while clutching Kit's wooden beads and throwing some paper in a little
can with fire in it. Kit consoles her by placing his hand on her shoulder.
Victor Lau is then seen approaching the two as the camera pans out. As Kit turns
to see him he notices that Lau is holding a gun. Lau then points the gun and
calmly says: "Give me the envelope." Michelle then realizes aloud: "So you're
behind this?" Victor Lau then replies smugly: "You thought Kwan was smart enough
to pull this off himself?" He then orders again: "The papers." As Michelle
reaches for the envelope Victor Lau continues: "I can't have those getting out.
It would be bad for business." Michelle angrily blurts out: "You killed my
father." Lau responds calmly: "He was getting too curious, asking too many
questions." The camera briefly zooms out to show several other police men nearby
as Lau goes on: "He very nearly found me out. I put an end to that." Lau then
motions towards the can of fire as he orders Michelle to: "Burn it." She looks
up at Kit who then simply nods his head and then slowly places the envelope in
    the fire.
Kit then says to Lau without even looking at him: "You've been corrupt for
decades." Lau smugly responds: "Imagine the power and money to be had in
controlling the cops and the robbers." Kit then turns his head to face Lau and
says: "But my father wouldn't deal with you." As Michelle gets to her feet Lau
replies: "He was a stubborn man. Wouldn't understand reason. And I knew Chiang
would be the same. So I approached Kwan. He saw the value in our alliance. But I
needed to keep a close eye on him. That's where you came in Kit. I had high
hopes for you, but you're just like your father. Caught up with that antiquated
notion of 'honor'." Michelle angrily refutes: "Something a bastard like you
wouldn't understand." Kit then takes a step toward Lau who still has the gun
pointed at them and says calmly: "There is something you don't know." Lau points
the gun more intently at Kit and asks: "What?" Kit then goes on: "I gave you my
badge but I never stopped being a cop." With that he pulls out the little tape
recorder from his back pocket and shows it to Lau. Lau's jaw drops at the site
of this and Kit quickly knocks Lau's gun to the side, unleashes a blow to the
throat and then in one motion grabs his gun wielding arm and flips Lau through
the air and onto his back. Kit throws the gun aside and readies to fight but Lau
just grimaces on the floor momentarily before drawing a butterfly knife and
getting to his feet. He then proceeds to attack Kit while the surrounding cops
draw nearer with guns drawn. Kit blocks all of Lau's attacks and then knocks him
back with a double-palm blast to the chest. Lau momentarily staggers before
lunging one last time which results in him getting a full kick to the upper
torso region that knocks the remaining energy out of him.
Michelle then grabs Lau and drags him to her fathers grave and forces him to
kneel in front of the tombstone by kicking him in the back of his legs followed
by a chop to the neck. She then picks up the gun and points it at his head.
Anger and revenge fills her eyes as Kit places his hand softly on her shoulder
and nods not to do it. After a brief moment she relents and gives the gun to
Kit. With that the cops come and Kit is shown giving the tape recorder to the
supervisor as Michelle looks back at Lau who is being taken by the other
officers. The supervising officer is seen listening to the tape recorder and Kit
is shown breathing a big sigh of relief as he has finally solved his father's
murder, fulfilled Boss Chiang's dying wish and ended the corrupt criminal empire
    all at once.
The camera next shows Michelle approaching Kit and asking him: "When did you
know?" He turns to her and replies: "Not soon enough. Someone knew our every
move." He looks out at the panoramic view from the hilltop cemetery and goes on:
"Victor was so protective of Kwan...until he thought Kwan was going to give him
up." A police officer takes Lau away in the background as Michelle interrupts
softly: "Then he killed him. Just like anyone who got in his way." Kit then
comfortingly says: "That's over now. We helped stop it." He then reaches into
his pocket and pulls out the real letter and offers it to Michelle while
continuing on: "This is what our fathers were trying to do." Michelle sadly
replies: "But they're dead and Victor lives." She takes the envelope and looks
at it while Kit gazes off and wisely says: "It is better to die with honor, than
    to live without."
With that the camera then again pans over Boss Chiang's tombstone with the can
of fire in front of it as both Kit and Michelle look down upon it. Kit then puts
his hand comfortingly on her shoulder as she sadly turns her face look into his
eyes. The camera then slowly zooms between their heads and takes in the
panoramic view one last time as the words 'T H E E N D' are displayed across
    the scenery.
    (-End of Walkthrough-)
In this section you can find out all about the unlockables as well as special
features included with the game. In addition there is a very comprehensive
listing of Movie References that might have inspired certain aspects of the game
as well as a listing of COOL THINGS and CHALLENGES that you can do to add even
more replay value to this amazing game.
Upon completing the game you will unlock the following rewards, which can be
found and selected by going into the "SPECIAL FEATURES" menu. There are two
Character Skins, two Bonus Video Clips, A Harder Difficulty setting as well as
all environments and soundtracks unlocked. Below is a detailed breakdown of each
       : : : : : : :
       : : : : : : :
What it is: Allows you to play as the character Chen Zhen from the hit movie
                "Fist Of Legend".
Description: As Chen Zhen you get to wear his dapper dark gray suit. He also
has a very clean crew cut as his hairstyle.
Unique Characteristics: This costume appears to gain adrenaline faster and you
can complete up to 2 Adrenaline combos with just one
full bar. It also seems to fill more rapidly than
without this costume on. One drawback seems to be that
his health and block meter are depleted much quicker
                            than normal.
    * PROS *
-ADRENALINE meter refills extremely fast and depletes slowly.
-Can complete up to 2 Adrenaline combos with one bar. (I have unleashed 22-Hit
Combos already. Credible sources claim to have unleashed upwards of 30 Hits.
-When using guns, perform the Adrenaline dive and kill at least 2 people and
when you land you'll immediately be ready for the next Adrenaline dive.
-Unique ADRENALINE combo variations. (Alternating heel kicks are cool)
-Great looking costume and hairstyle. (Very dapper)
    * CONS *
-Takes a lot of damage much quicker.
-Block meter depletes very quickly. (Extremely quickly!!!)
-Still referred to as Kit Yun during cutscenes although the costume is evident.

        : : : : : : : : : : :
What it is: Allows you to play as the character Wong Fei Hung from the HIT Movie
"Once upon a time in China".
Description: Long black ponytail with the front half of his head shaved bald.
Wong Fei also wears his trademark white flowing costume complete
                 with the white tantos.
Unique Characteristics: Using this skin apparently causes your BLOCKING meter to
deplete much slower. You can drown and burn enemies for
incredibly long periods of time. His ponytail flows
                            nicely in cutscenes.
    * PROS *
-Depletes your BLOCKING meter much slower (You can DUNK and BURN foes for long
     periods of time)
-Unique ADRENALINE Combos. (The leaping scissor kick is sweet)
-Certain unique GRABS. (More of a variation really from Kit Yun's e.g. his arm
GRAB followed by a sweeping kick is done from behind)
-He looks freaking cool in his standing posture during cutscenes.
    * CONS *
-ADRENALINE meter fills very slowly and decreases quickly.
-Still referred to as Kit Yun in the cutscenes although the costume is evident.
-He feels slower than Chen Zhen and Kit Yun while running. (Just my feeling)
<<Thanks to AzN bReAkEr BoI for some of the information in this section>>
PERSONAL NOTE: I would have loved a Gabe Law skin from the hit movie "The One."
Unending ADRENALINE and BLOCKING abilities would have been a
great reward for beating the game on HARD difficulty. Maybe next
time. *Hopes for a next time*
    Running Time: 10-15 minutes (Approximate)
    Unlocked: Right from the start.
Description: This really cool footage takes you behind the scenes of how Rise To
Honor was made. It includes extensive motion capturing, sound
recording and other gameplay footage and also features extensive
commentary by both Jet Li and Cory Yuen. (The Tandem Fighting
sequences and comedic outbursts are great. This video is not going
                 to waste your time.
    Running Time: 1-2 minutes
Unlocked: Upon completing the game on NORMAL difficulty.
Description: This brief video clip shows Kit when he was a teenager going
through his Wushu forms on the same panoramic plateau that also
houses the cemetery in the game. The Chinese background music as
well as the lighting effects with the sun are really cool but the
clip is very short and somewhat unfulfilling.
    Running Time: 1-2 minutes
Unlocked: Upon completing the game on NORMAL difficulty.
Description: This brief video clip shows Michelle when she too was a teenager
going through her martial art forms. She moves very gracefully and
acrobatically in the same panoramic location as in Young Kit's
video but is unfortunately equally short and and somewhat lacks
                 luster as a bonus feature.
Unlocked: Upon completing the game on NORMAL difficulty.
Description: As implied this feature allows you to make the game even more
challenging. Enemies attack more in groups meaning they don't just
hover around and take turns lunging. You need to be quicker with
your skills generally speaking. (It is not that much harder though
NOTE: There are no additional unlockables awarded for completing
the game on HARD mode. (A Black Mask or The One skin would
have been a great idea though)
These are other special features found either in the manual or in THE "SPECIAL
FEATURES" via the Main Menu. Movie references are merely implied, not confirmed.
    | ARTWORK |
In the SPECIAL FEATURES menu you can view three categories under ARTWORK.
CHARACTERS: Shows you full screen renderings of a few of the players in the
game. You can rotate them around to observe smaller details but
sadly there are very few to choose from and the selection is
                somewhat odd.
ENVIRONMENTS: As you progress through the levels in the game new environments
are unlocked here for your viewing pleasure. Each one consists of
roaming camera footage that details the level of detail in each
environment. This was a real nice touch in my opinion. There are
14 unlockable environment clips in all.
STORYBOARDS: This section gives you an idea of how the early stages of level
design were drawn out before the game developers created the
finished product. There are only 4 selections but they are really
cool to check out and compare to the actual game itself.
The Soundtrack Player can be found in the SPECIAL FEATURES menu. It contains a
playable listing of every musical track found in the game. As you pass new
environments the accompanying soundtrack will become unlocked. You can listen to
16 of the games different soundtracks in total.
    | JET LI BIO |
Born in Beijing, Li began studying the art of Wushu (the general Chinese term
for martial arts) and was enrolled in the Beijing Amateur Sports School at the
age of 8. After three years of extensive training, Li won his first national
championship for the Beijing Wushu team. As part of a world tour in 1974, he had
the honor of performing a two-man fight for President Nixon on the White House
lawn. For the next four years, he remained the All-Around National Wushu
    Champion of China.
Shortly after retiring from the sport at the age of 17, he was offered many
starring roles and subsequently began on his film career with director Chang
Hsin Yen for "Shaolin Temple." Upon its release, Li was propelled into instant
movie stardom and the film was an enormous success that spawned two sequels.
This led to Li completing 25 successful Asian films before coming to America.
Now a world-renowned martial arts master and international film star Jet Li
burst into Hollywood in 1998 with his first English language film appearance in
"Lethal Weapon 4." After completing over 20 films in Hong Kong and China, Li
took his first role as a villain starring opposite Mel Gibson and Danny Glover
    in the Richard Donner film.
Li recently wrapped production on his second movie with director Luc Besson
called "Danny the Dog," co-starring Morgan Freeman and was recently seen in
"Cradle to the Grave" opposite DMX.
Upcoming, Li stars in the 2002 Academy Award Nominee for foreign language film,
"Hero," which was filmed entirely on location in Asia. "Hero," directed by
renowned director, Zhang Yimou, will be released in the U.S. by Miramax in April
2004. In 2002, Li starred and produced the films, "The One" directed by James
Wong as well as "Kiss of the Dragon," directed by Chris Nahon and produced by
Luc Besson. Prior to this, Li garnered rave reviews for his performance in the
Warner Bros. Box office success "Romeo Must Die."
Recently, Li teamed up with Mel Gibson's Icon Productions to produce a martial
arts television series entitled "Invincible" featuring the ancient martial art
of Wushu. American audiences witnessed spectacularly choreographed action
sequences in the Hong Kong Film making style.
NOTE: Bio taken word for word from the game manual.
Several of the action sequences in the game bring back a flood of Jet-Li movie
memories. Here is a comprehensive listing of similarities between the game's
action sequences in relation to the films from which they might have been drawn
from. Thank you AzN bReAkEr BoI for your incredible research in this area.

NOTE: Movie references are merely implied, not confirmed.
There are several cool little things that you can find by exploring the
environments you play through. Here are just a few to get you started.
MOVIE POSTERS: If you explore the Metreon lobby during "SECURITY BREACH" you can
look at quite a few different movie posters. See if you can find
'War Heroes' with a Saddam look-alike on it and 'Action' with an
Antonio Banderas resemblance. There is also a PSX/PS2 mural to
Be found just off to the right of the front desk. There is also
an interesting bus stop poster in the lower left hand corner of
                   "MIDTOWN MAYHEM."
                   (Credit: king6475)
EAVESDROP: In the Metreon building whenever you stand behind two guards they
will start conversing with one another. In one instance the guard
rambles on about how his kid wants the Rise to Honor game but his
wife won't allow it unless he gets better grades. See how many
conversations you can find. (You can eavesdrop on any of the stealth
based missions where two guards are stationed together)
RING THE REGISTER: Smash the cash register in "TAKE OUT ORDER" with an enemy or
simply by striking it to hear the ring and see some cash fly
ELECTROCUTE THE PATIENT: Smash the side of the medical machine where you can see
the patient's legs sticking out and he will fry. This
opportunity is found in the first examination room
during "MEDICAL ATTENTION" in the Hospital. (The two
pieces of electrical equipment on either side will
also allow you to electrocute the thug)
Finished everything and feel like you now are a true Wushu Master? Need a little
more replay value? Think you got what it takes? Well here are several challenges
that you can try out to test your true skill level. (Each one is possible)
