"Who says Current Gen is dead?"

With all the hype surrounding the Xbox 360 version of Madden 07, some people may believe that current gen was left out, same as 06, and far below the 360 version in terms of quality. Those people are wrong. The Current-gen version is a great Madden game, and BETTER and the 360 version...

Story: N/A

Visuals: 8/10
Still a good looking game. Of course not as good as the 360 version, but not bad at all. The weather effects are nice, but overall EA hasn't made any noticeable changes from 06. Unfortunately, there are still hiccups and noticeable lag when music is loading and after touchdowns.

Sound: 8/10
Once again, Madden and Micheals do a great job in the booth, and actually make intelligent comments this time around. This might have gotten a 9, but the soundtrack is absmal. All of the music except for Sam Spence, Keane, and Wolfmother, is Scremo or Rap. Thankfully you can turn most of the songs off.

Gameplay: 10/10
Ea has made huge improvements here. With the addition of Lead Blocking, you can take over control of a lineman or fullback and block for your HB or QB. And it is actually enjoyable. With the addition of the Highlight Stick, running is that much more enjoyable. Now more agile backs like Willie Parker and Warrick Dunn won't be trucking players over. Insted they juke and dodge them. Super Star mode is MUCH improved over last year, you only play as your position now. So if your a HB you only have control over running plays. Franchise mode has added a College All-Star game, giving you the ability to scout your draft picks first hand.

Replayability: 9/10

Overall: 8.8/10 (Not an average)
Madden still continues to shine as Ea's premiere franchise. This may be the last year a Madden comes out for Current Gen, but it goes out in style.
