Accepted Answer

  1. ReCOM has some interesting mechanics, very different and quite involving. And the story helps a bit (or considerably) with understanding why KH2 starts the way it does and who's that guy Sora's tussling with in KH2's opening FMV.

Advice? You know how you spend time in KH & KH2 shuffling abilities and equipment? Well, in ReCOM that time is spent in Edit Decks.

The tutorials suck frankly, so I recommend downloading a copy of my walkthrough to look up stuff (before breaking things ;j), because lots of players never get past the first world. It's not about having bigger cards (biggest bad advice around), but how you play them. 1+2+5 beats nearly everything.

  1. If you have a PS3, another consideration is the KH HD 1.5 ReMix, which includes KH Final Mix, ReCOM, and some stuff from KH-Days. Don't give up your original KH or KH2, however; the new releases are "different" is many ways.

  2. If you enjoyed the first two games, then I think you'll like this game. I'm not a card-based game player at all, and I still enjoyed CoM. It requires a bit more strategy than in KH1. You can't simply mash X or you'll be toast, and - provided you use higher value cards - it actually plays quite similarly to KH1 & 2.

I'd go with falconesque's advice. Get the 1.5 ReMix to try it out for yourself. I'm sure it can be had for quite cheap already.
