Do bonuses stay?

  1. The stat bonues e.g. "You finished so and so challenge +20 to attack!"
Do they stay on that animal after you finish that survival game?
Like If I got a collective hunger bonus of 60 throughout one session, died, then went back in to the same animal, will it still have that bonus?

Accepted Answer

  1. You would not retain that bonus automatically.

However, you might retain some of that bonus if you manage to mate (preferably with a Prime quality mate.) If your current animal is below the age of 10 years, do your best to find a Prime quality mate after you've reached the level of Boss. Any mate that's Prime will have the largest percentage of your bonus stats (about half of what you've earned from challenges in that generation) transfer over to the next generation, and the process repeats. You'll want to do this by around your tenth year, because old age will start to decrease your stats after ten years. Conversely, mating too soon won't let you transfer too many stats, but sometimes you have to anyway, in order to advance.

Failing this, an Average mate will suffice, but not as many stats will carry over. If you get a Desperate one following you, try to let it get killed, since you should only mate with one if you are truly desperate, too. You'll get the least amount of stats carry over (often none) with a Desperate mate.

Other Answers

  1. Stat boosts retained according to mate: Prime - 1/2, Average - 1/3, Desperate - 1/5
You'll see the stat increases right after mating. Those stat boosts are permanent. If you die without mating, all stat increases gained since the last mating will be lost.

If your animal can't mate, then its stats can never increase outside of completing challenges.
