Accepted Answer

  1. If you talked to Solaire of Astoria after you defeated the Taurus demon you can have him help you defeat the gargoyles, but you have to be in human form. So get a point of humanity and use the reveres hollow option at the bonfire. Make your way to the gargoyle boss fog and you should see his gold sign on the ground. Use it to summon him, you can also look for the white signs other players leave and summon another person to help you. With yourself and one or two others the gargoyles are easy.

  1. I would buy a bow and some arrows (about 40) from the shopkeeper underneath the area where there are two spear skeletons next to the bonfire you should be at. Use this and shoot the red dragons tail under the bridge until it drops the drake sword (200 atk) this will make short work of the gargoyles and most early enemies

  2. Did you get the Drake Sword from that Drake's tail in the bridge? It'll make it more easier if you go alone. What I did was just rapidly attack the first gargoyle and drop him before that 2nd gargoyle comes out.

  3. I recently beat the Bell Gargoyles without needing the Drake Sword or help from phantoms. I found it was critical to constantly block with my shield and avoid being trapped between the two of them. Obvious advice, to a certain extent, but I tried 2-handed attacks for an embarrassing amount of time before I realized you can completely avoid damage with a shield.

It's probably worth your time to grind out more upgrades for your armor - also, the knights in the church drop the Balder Armor and Balder Helm which were a huge upgrade for my character (bandit). Furthermore, if you have firebombs you can take out a good chunk of the gargoyle's health from a safe distance with them.

Hope this helps - good luck!
