Is getting CMW worth it?

  1. I need to know if it is because i don't want to be wasting needless points in int.

On another note, does it scale with your int?

  1. This is a 2 part answer.
    1) It's worth it right now because it doubles the hit points of whatever your right hand weapon is, so no it does not scale on any stat, but the patch will downgrade it to utter uselessness because (as far as I read) it will only do damage based on its base damage (which is like 145 pts at +5).
    2) It's one of the RARE weapons you'll need to acquire the knights honor trophy (for all rare weapons). So if your trying to get trophies and that one is one of the harder ones to get you'll definetly want it.

  2. It doesn't scale directly with int, however it does scale with MagAdjust. And on most catalysts, the MagAdjust increases with more int, so it does scale indirectly with int.

Getting CMW is worth it if you plan on doing PvP AND are doing an int build. If you get it, make sure you have at minimum 32 int so that you can use the Tin Crystallization Catalyst (the strongest catalyst).

Make sure your weapon can be enchanted; this means no elemental weapons.

  3. Crystal Magic Weapon is a very good weapon buff for any character with enough Int to use it, and any +15 weapon.
I cleared the game with one Iaito +15 and CMW. The Iaito itself is a fairly standard weapon, and it has nothing special other than the unreliable bleed.

  4. CMW is a good buff, but not all that better than GMW found in Anor Londo and for only 15 int. I'd only get it if you're going to use other sorceries.
Sorceries scale with the MagAdjust of your catalyst, and almost all catalysts scale with int
