Dealing with invaders?

  1. Ok, it's kind of annoying for me when I have high level jerks invading and beating the crap out of me when I'm barely starting, Is there some way to get rid of them other than playing offline? I'm kinda trying to co-op with a friend and these jag offs are invading with this big huge armor of doom.

  2. Additional Details:
Another question based off this one I guess. Sometimes I get the fog that blocks doorways out of nowhere. There's no player coming after me, and I can't lay my own summon thing down. Sometimes it just goes away, other times I have to quit the game for it to. Anyone know what this is about?

  3. Additional Details:
I have no intention of ever invading anyone else. It may be part of the game, but I don't like being bothered by jerkoff who just cares about winning with whatever cheapness they happen to use. But I do thank you for the PSN idea, that'll be much faster than quitting out of the game. Thank you very much bfa1509. As far as the cowardice idea, I just don't like being bothered. Especially if I'm in a tough situation. Call it trolling, call it cowardice.. WHATEVER. I just wanna be left alone to enjoy the frickin' game without being invaded every 10 seconds.

  1. Other than being hollow, no.
However, if you can get to a ledge and use a shield as your main hand weapon and two hand it, it's not to hard to trick them to a place where you can push them off.

Also, if you have a weapon capable of bleed like a katana or bandit dagger, three bleeds and they're dead.

One last way to protect yourself is to quit before they invade. If you keep the white soapstone in your quick use inventory, you can see when it turns dark, meaning you cannot use it. If that happens, quit. It'll go dark when you try to summon your friends tho.

  1. Invasions are part of the game, for better or worse. If you're alive, you will eventually get invaded no matter what you do. You can however join co-op covenants to boost the rate of co-op phantom signs appears or indict players with an item bought from Oswald in the the Undead Parish.

I suggest to get better to try to get better and combat your invaders. EWGF has a very useful video series on PVP techniques:

  2. I found signing out of PSN just eliminates the problem at the source, the downside is you can't summon your online buddies or get tips from other players but it totally eliminates the risk of loosing all your hard work to some jerk with no life.

  3. Dont sign out of PSN or disconnect, this would make you either a coward or a troll. Later you will start invading other people yourself and you will find this really annoying. Getting invaded is a big part of the game.

  4. Invasions are a pain in the ass, I agree. But when you've gotten the hang of the game and you've reached a higher level PvPing can be really fun.
As for beginners, I'd say the easiest way to deal with (you can only invade the world of someone higher level than you. So your invaders aren't high levels, they just have good weapons.) invaders is to have a phantom with you at all times. More often than not your phantom will be better than you, and can probably do a better job defeating them than you. Just stand in the distance and heal them when needed, same goes for boss fights. People can only invade you when you haven't beaten the area boss, same for summoning people.
The fog walls happen when someone's trying to invade (and if no one does, the invasion failed), same thing happens to your bonfires. Either they'll go out or if you haven't yet lit it you won't have the option to light it.
Practise parrying and backstabbing is my best possible advice though. If you get good enough at it, with a good enough weapon, you'll be a force to be reckoned with. Believe me, I have become a considerable threat. And I thought I'd NEVER get good at this _ucking game, lol. But practise makes perfect !
