Play with Everything!
LittleBigPlanet is a plat-forming game, exclusive to the Sony PlayStation 3 system. It is simple enough, there are roughly 30 pre-made Story levels, and many many online levels created by the LittleBigPlanet community worldwide. The controls are very simple and extremely easy to master, X is jump, Circle is cancel, R1 is to grab and using both R2 and L2 allows the player to manipulate Sackboys arms.
The objective of each level is fairly simple, get from A to B, with the varying challenge in between. Each story level is made fabulously, utilising every tool and material where it is necessary or seems fit. Each set of levels also ends with a Boss battle, which is very creative and unique for each chapter of the Story.
LittleBigPlanet also has a fantastic online service, its allows players to upload and publish their own unique levels onto the planet for others around the world to play! This is a great feature, and I can guarantee you, there will be a different level to play every time you log in.
As stated before, the player can create his or her own levels. This is LittleBigPlanets biggest strength. The player can create just about anything. Yes, Anything. Your level could be a remake of one of gamings greatest games, or it could be something simple, like a small drag race from one side of the map to the other.
Creating your own levels is arguably the best reason to purchase this game, as it is always fun to spend varying lengths of time creating a level, publish it and wait for user feedback, as you can then go and better your level yet again!
LittleBigPlanet is a very fun, enjoyable game to play both offline and online, the experience is even better when played with multiple players, either on one console or with others online.
If you do own a PlayStation 3, I must recommend you buy this game. It is a unique idea that has interested and kept many players occupied and will continue to do so for many years to come, especially with a possible Sequel and PlayStation Portable counter-part.
The story alone will occupy you for roughly 7-8 hours if you plan to rush it, and it will take you much longer, for example 20 hours or so, if you plan to collect every reward hidden throughout the levels, and then with the onlines infinite replayability, this will keep you hooked for even longer.
I would give LittleBigPlanet a full 10/10, it is an amazing game, and the most creative game on any system available right now. Many view this game as childish but all I can say is rent it if this is how you feel. Seriously. Do not knock this game until you have tried it.
