Originally, the classic MegaMan had eight entries: 6 on the NES, 1 on the SNES, and one on the Sega Saturn and PlayStation. Some ten years later, Capcom decided to continue this seemingly-dead series with the entry that is MegaMan 9. MegaMan 9's own graphic system was emulated from the classic NES MegaMan games as well, hence the 8-bit look to the game rather than the relatively-detailed one of MegaMan 8, for example, on the Saturn and PSX.
