"An Almost Perfect Masterpiece"

Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade (from now on UL) is my second game for my PSP handheld. Expectations from this game aren't very high as most players say but they should be. UL is an excellent game.

Gameplay: 9/10

The gameplay in UL is pretty straightforward. One button is to slash. The analog to move and 2 other predetermined buttons for special moves. Not too complicated, until you have to use them all at once.

You will NEVER I repeat, NEVER, get stuck per say in this game. If you forget where to go or you weren't paying attention UL features a Journal that displays each mission you're currently on and how to get there/what to do. It'll come in handy.

As you level up in this game you receive Ability Points to go towards skills on your skill tree. You choose what to give ability points to and what not to.

Unfortunately the skill tree is very small and the level cap is only 50.

Story: 7/10

This is where the game goes downhill. The storyline is very shaky and not used enough during gameplay. Something about shadows and attacks from ‘Outcasts' but nothing really spectacular. The story should've been more developed and used throughout gameplay.

Difficulty; 9/10

The difficulty is perfect as it adjusts the monster(s) level to match or come near that of yours. The only downside is you cannot choose Easy, Medium, or Hard. Some players enjoy more of a challenge while others enjoy less. But in this game you have no choice.

Graphics: 10/10

This games graphics are fully-3D and they are beautiful! The fact that when you change armor of weapons your character actually changes his appearance is good for any game, but on a handheld! Wow! The monsters are fully-3D and the environments are top-down view which you get used to.

Sound: 8/10

The sound in this game is very well done but it's mostly grunts and clangs from when you strike your sword of use magic, or even kill somebody. The music itself isn't loud enough.

Replayability: 9/10

With 4 character classes (Knight, Alchemist, Druid, Berserker) you can eventually replay this game 4 times. It might get boring after the first or second time replaying though. Another feature is online play. A nice tough but not everyone has the luxury of a convenient Hot-Spot

Rent or Buy?

Buy. If you like RPGs or Champions of Norrath then you should buy this game immediately. If you're not so much into RPGs rent it and decide for yourself.

Overall: 9/10

UL is a great game for what it is but next time they should work more on story. Otherwise, a very good game for the money. Also, be careful of the length of this game. Not too long, but as well not extremely short.
