"Super Mario World ranks among the lines of Super Mario Bros. 3 as one of the best Mario games of all time."

Released on the Super Nintendo in 1991, Super Mario World was a huge hit and was a fan favorite. It was even ported to the GBA in 2002. Although playing the GBA version is fun, there is nothing better than returning to the original version for some nostalgic fun. Along with Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World will always be remember as a classic, and one of the best Mario games ever created.

Mario and Luigi have found themselves in Dinosaur land, where Princess Peach seems to have been kidnapped by Bowser. Once again, Mario and Luigi must rescue Princess Peach, while thwarting Bowser's evil plans. Along the way Mario and Luigi will rescue Yoshi's trapped friends and defeat Bowser's evil koopalings.

Super Mario World is a game full of platforming goodness, you start out on the world map as Mario, and you will gradually progress through more and more challenging levels, until you reach your ultimate goal: Bowser's Castle. There are also many secret levels and there is plenty of ways to reach Bowser's Castle. The levels consist of what every other Mario game has had to date. You go from the left side of the screen to the right side of the screen, jumping on and dodging enemies while trying to make your way to the goal. In this Mario game you will run through a finish line and have the ability to score bonus points. When you collect 100 points you will go to a bonus mini-game to try and collect 1ups.

It wouldn't be a Mario game without power ups, and while it doesn't have as many power ups as Mario Bros. 3, it still has a good selection of fun power ups. There is the mushroom, fire flower, feather cape and Yoshi! While Yoshi isn't really a "power up" he gives you a significant advantage when you are riding him, as you can eat enemies whole and avoid losing your power up when you take damage, although you will lose Yoshi, and you will have to re-capture him again.

Super Mario World is full of fun levels, with fun puzzles, fun enemies and in typical Mario fashion it is full of tons of secrets. Super Mario World is one of the funnest Mario games you could ever play.

The world of Super Mario World is beautiful, full of vibrant colors and good animations and cool effects. For a SNES game, it has some of the best graphics I have seen. Everything about the games environments and level design is awesome and it is just a joy to look at and play.

The music in Super Mario World is phenomenal, with a good supply of tracks and many other great aspects you will truly enjoy every minute of listening to the game, just as much as you would playing it.

The game has a massive 96 levels for you to enjoy and there are so many secrets in the levels for you to figure out that it will take you awhile to figure them all out. And even after you beat all the levels there are still some surprises awaiting you. Definitely a game you will play for a long time and always return to play again. There is also a 2 player mode, where Player 1 plays as Mario and Player 2 plays as Luigi. This can be very fun, although you have to take turns, it is still really fun to play with a friend.

Super Mario World is an amazing game and should not be missed by anyone. If you own a SNES and do not have Super Mario World it is your duty to go out and buy this game. If you unfortunately do not own a SNES you can always find this game for your GBA. Although the versions have some differences that mostly only a Super Mario World veteran would notice, they are still almost exactly the same and it is still an amazing platformer 14 years later. Super Mario World is a classic that should not be missed period, as it ranks up with Super Mario Bros. 3 as a true classic and one of the best 2D Mario games of all time.
