    Game Mechanics

This will break down the Game Mechanics within this game

    Motivation:

Motivation is the most important mechanic in this game. It has to be mastered in order to progress in this game. You must use the in game currency of CM in order to enter this mode. You will have to enter mini games and complete them in order to first be able to attack with your characters then to be able gain skills that will include passive skills and field skills. You will also after completing a certain amount of motivation levels be able obtain Girl's Wishes. The mini games include Maintenance, Edgeplay, Slippery Slope, Tickle Party, & Shiver. These mini games get increasingly harder and will require more CM to complete them. I will include all the charts of all the Girls Skills Section Below.

The list here is from the Menu presented when you motivate each girl. Strategies will be stated below the list for accomplishing each mini game.

    Aftercare
    Edgeplay
    Slippery Slope
    Tickle Party
    Maintenance
    Aftercare:

Funny enough even though this is the final motivation skill that you will use on your knight characters. This is probably the easiest mini game to complete perfectly. This is a simple drag and drop. You drag what look like balls of fluff with 2 little black eyes (Match the Temptations) an you drag them to the the circles that pop up. The icon used here is a gloved hand The front screen ones are pink the back screen ones are blue. In the earlier stages you will only have to use the front screen on the later stages you will have to use the back screen.

    Edgeplay:

Ok in this one you move switches from one notch to the other. Your cursor is an electric stun baton. This can be done any direction (ie up to down, diagonally, left to right and right to left, and down to up) at its highest stages. The trick is sliding the notch to the hole from the opposing direction of the silver notch there is a groove where the notch will go (Drag the switch). The same as usual the pink is the front and the blue is the back.

    Slippery Slope:

Your icon (blue or pink jars) here is a jar that drips fluid on blobbing jams with faces (Splash the Temptations). What you have to do here is press the screen to make the jar appear and hold it to make it start dripping or splashing and put it over these jam creatures to make them disappear they have what appears to be a health bar below them and will disappear after there health bars are depleted. Same as before pink is front blue is behind.

    Tickle Party:

The icons here are feathers the front is illuminated by a pink aura and the behind one is illuminated by a blue aura. In this mini game you have to swipe quickly on blue and pink feathered ball creatures with a tail/leg (Tickle the Temptations). The behind ones here are a pit tricky so make sure to focus on them in order to get a perfect score!

    Maintenance:

This is the first motivation skill acquired. This is done through a switch either in a pink aura or a blue aura as usual representing front and behind. What needs to be done here is to touch/press the screen where the serpent mouthed rocks appear and the switch will automatically keep hitting this rock creature until the perish (Smack the Temptations).

    Girl's Wishes:

Girls Wishes are side quests that are unlocked when motivation mini games are completed. When completed they lower motivation costs for later levels (of motivation) and by lowering of MP cost for all skills. These wishes can be accomplished either by fetch quests (picking up items) or by battles. You can know where each of these quests are by reading closely to the dialogue or practically by seeing a heart by each floor you. You will also see a heart where the battle or item are on the said floor. The first 4 girl's wishes will appear over the course of completing the first 4 tool levels (learning 16 skills for a girl). The last girl's wish will be discovered over the course of completing the 5th tool's motivation.

    Field Skill:

These Field Skills will help you during your quest. Tomoe has Return that teleports you to a portal/camp the place where you do your healing and shopping as well as a place to teleport through the different levels that you have already been, which will be a must (since the difficulty in all aspects has been raised since its predecessor). Alice has MP Split, which gives 10 MP to any character, she has a lot of MP so this is a great way to give MP to your characters who are lacking MP. Ran will probably be the one with the most used skill Alert Move. This skill allows for the avoiding of battles, which will allow for you to avoid tedious battles and progress in the plot. Sako has the skill Shout, it summons monsters. Now what would you want this skill for, well its actually a necessary skill that you will use often in order to grind (RPG term that means fighting monsters to power up your main character or characters). Yuko uses the skill Group Heal. This heals a certain amount of health to each character. Later on in the game it will heal most (if not all) of your characters health in one or two usages. Shin's Field Skill is Healing where she can completely heal a character. This is really good if you want to keep some characters healed and others hurt. Himekime's Red Needle which can do massive damage when they are weak. Kisaragi's Field Skill Find Treasure is also invaluable. You want to use this to find out how many chests are on the floor. Explore every nook and cranny on the Maps section provided below. Himekime's Field Skill is Hand's On allows for the gaining of 50% of EXP in the next battle, a great field skill to max out all your characters. Miu's Field Skill Collection increases CP by 50% helping you purchases those items and completing the motivation modes.

    Conventional Boss Strategy:

Bosses usually have one major weakness paralysis. Sometimes they can be poisoned, but make sure to paralyze your foe. Bosses tend to use charge attacks use Ran's guard or invincibility skill in order to counter it. Make sure to use healing items or stat boosting items each turn. Also using healing techniques are extremely valuable when your party's health is going down. Remember if your main party 4 goes down you go down, so make sure to switch out character in a healthy manner. You get to use one item per turn and you get to use one switch per turn so always be aware of that. Also later in the game have lots of remedies they heal all status ailments. Lowering stats are another important aspect. There are several stats you can lowers attack, defense, magic defense, and speed/accuracy. All of these are pretty logical in what they do. Lowering attack makes it so the boss does less damage. Lowering defense lowers the boss's physical defense. Lowering magical defense lowers the defense towards magical attacks. Last is the one that probably seems to be the least intuitive. Lowering speed is a create move, because doing this can lower the accuracy of boss's attacks allowing for the boss to miss their attack this with paralyzation can reek havoc on the boss's attack so be mindful to do both! Moves that have great impacts are usually with Shin's skill set of OPR End as well as OPR Next, which are really good in making sure you have the best skills used or have the option to use them. Once you gain Himekime she also has Red Needle, which in conjunction with OPR End can do some great damage. Make sure to use combo moves too found within treasure chests they usually have great power. They are great for status increasing or status lowering (or status ailments) of opponents or can do high amounts of damage for very little MP.

    Trophies:

There is a total of 37 trophies in the game. There is one platinum, one gold, twenty six silver, and nine bronze trophies in the game. There are pretty easy to acquire. You need to finish all the floors and beat all the major bosses to get the bronze trophies. You need to knight all the girls and see all the girls individual endings, and complete all the girl's wishes to get all the silvers. The gold you need to get the special final ending with the group photo, and finally for the platinum you need to have collected all the previous trophies.

    Menu Options:

The Menu Options are New Game, Load Game, Continue, Options, Art Gallery, and Scene Gallery. New Game is to start a new game. Load Game is to continue where you last saved. Continue you is to start off where you last quick saved. Beware if you use this feature the data will be lost if used. Options allow you to adjust sound features in the game.Art Gallery are Illustrations that are acquired by progression throughout the game as well as completing endings throughout the game as well as motivation sequences. Scene Gallery shows the illustrations of the motivation sequences that were accomplished during the course of the game.

    Art Gallery & Scene Gallery:

There appear to be 75 slots for CG's (there may be more there does appear to be some glitches in this game at least through the play through of this walk through). How do you unlock them. Well if you perfect motivation (getting 200 points) mini games that will help unlock the CGs as well as getting all the endings. 6 pages of Art Gallery with 5 entries per page (30) and 9 pages of Scene Gallery (45).

    Game Over:

If you play your cards right this won't be happening often. However for this to occur all of your party members need to have perished during the fight. However you will have control over 9 girls, but can only fight with 4 girls at a time. However you have a switch feature revival items and revival skills that can help bring the dead back to life. It will say "The party has been annihilated" and then say "GAME OVER" and restart you at the main screen. So save frequently if you are not a cautious player.

    Glitches:

There appears to be several Glitches in this game. When you complete the game with several characters there CG's do not appear. Also there is a strange glitch on the 2nd floor of the 2nd Block of Inferno where when Kisaragi uses her Find Treasure skill it says there are 5 chests that don't appear there. Also even with a mastery of motivation mini games as well as completing all the endings some of the CG's don't seem to appear. Also SPD boosts don seem to appear in the game, however a SPD boost X was discovered (although all other buff items are sold there is some reason this item is not sold, maybe not a glitch but definitely strange).

    Walkthrough Main Game

This will go through a summarized walkthrough of the main game.

    Cell Block 832:

This is where we meet Miu a Program instructor who will have a major significance throughout the whole game. We have the opportunity to name our main character. This is basically a tutorial floor to teach you the basic mechanics you need to make it through this game also there is a lot of dialogue, We meet Kisaragi, Ran, Sako, and Alice here, which will comprise your main team. We will obtain more characters throughout the game. Kisaragi is our thief and status dealer, Ran is our defensive member who can use skills like Guard against charged blows like with bosses. Alice is our magic user. Sako is our physical heavy hitter. Climb up this Block and what you will need to do as a formula for every floor is tried and true strategy Grind, Motivate, Buy Supportive Items, and Collect Treasure. Now you will face the first boss Over Eat. Over Eat is not a lightweight and by its appearance appears to be an overgrown purple reptile. This is where you will learn about the charge move. It is a move that telegraphs a powerful technique. This is where Ran comes in she will be used to lessen the impact of boss blows. Now we are ready for the next block Block 1: Morass.

    Morass:

On this Block we obtain our last three main characters for the main game; Yuko, Tomoe, and Shin. Yuko is our healer and sister of Sako. Tomoe is our heavy hitting miko/shrine maiden. Shin is an interesting character that is a magic user that works somewhat like a commander when she attacks the other girls will attack when she uses any OPR skill if they are aligned with that skill (ie. if Shin uses OPR Fire Sako will use her fire punch). Use the strategy of Grind, Motivate, Buy Supportive Items, and Collect Treasure. You should be able to have all field skills by this time which will make things a lot easier, such as returning to your base finding treasure and healing. You'll face a mini boss Dread Eye. Just make sure you protect yourself against the status element poison here, make sure you have plenty of antidotes. Now time to face the next boss Greed E. A purple lionesque beast. Another heavy hitting final floor boss. Ok her make sure to keep your girls health up. Reduce enemy stats via items, also boost your character stats, and this colossal mammoth should fall. Now lets move to the next Block; Block 2:Inferno.

    Inferno:

On this Block there will be a change of pace. You will begin by seeing a fearsome foe, that appears indestructible, but don't worry by the time your finished this block you will be more then ready to take on this terrifying titan. What you will have to do is take on more mini bosses than from the previous levels. The mini bosses are the henchmen of the big baddie. They are the 4 dark devas: Mr. Damon, Mr. Invisi, Mr. Beast, and Mr. Hand. You will have to go through plot elements such as running around the floor and trapping the deva or searching space to find the devas. Like most bosses/mini the tried and true strategy is to keep your girls health up so take advantage of the 1 item usage per turn and make sure you have a good stock of items. There appears to be a glitch here where Kisaragi's Find Treasure says there are 5 chests here even witha full exploration of the floor it doesn't appear to be those 5 chests(perhaps it as just this play through). Also make sure your leveled up too, that can easily turn the tide of battle. Okay now you should be all the way to the top of this block. Its now time to take on the big baddie Burn Rage. This boss appears to be a fire serpent with 2 giant claws and flame wings. What you need to do is take advantage of the new switch function you have now, so if one of your girls get hurt switch her out for a fully healed one in the back. Its important to do this because if all the 4 girl's (present in battle) health are depleted you will receive a game over and have to reload your last save. Ran's Guard is always good here if a charged attack is used. Definitely use Alice's Ice attacks as they will garner a lot of damage. Also have Tomoe's Freeezing Sword (this is a combined technique found in a hidden chest, look at the maps section to see where all chests are located on all floors) and you can see which will deliver quite a wallop. Also be wary of status inducing attacks, and make sure to decrease this enemy's stats. After a long grind and this block will be conquered, now its time to head to Block 3: Frost.

    Frost:

Now we will are at the point about half way through the main game (2 more blocks need to be completed after this). This is where we see the girls trust being seriously targeted. There are many challenges that you will have to face on this floor. You will even have to climb the whole block again which is definitely a pain. You will get to have your first real connection with the character Himekime. You will face The Wall a mini boss that you can use electric attacks against remember using Ran here, both her guard and electrical skills will be invaluable here. Icy Desire, This boss appears to be somewhat like a flower type monster encapsulated by ice. You will have to face this boss twice. After you defeat it the first time you'll have to climb the whole block and face it again. Make sure to have Ran here use guard and electric attacks as well as healing items. Yuko as a healer is effective as well as Shin's OPR techniques. After a long grind 2x this block will be conquered, now its time to head to Education Block.

    Education Block:

In this block you will be forced to face all of the girls past misdeeds. You will have to face their shadows which is basically an über strong version of each girl with 2 attacks. The way you do this is basically a rinse and repeat situation. The first girl's shadow that you face is Tomoe and the last you face is Alice. What you will have to do is first explore the historical background and the issue that the girl had in order to become a delinquent. Then she will meet and be accosted by her shadow she will become frozen by the philosophical guilt brought by the conversation of the shadow. You then have to fetch her item of guilt, you can know where this item is from communicating with the girl who is paralyzed by her shadow. You will learn more about the character's background get the item. Return your girl will regain her senses and you have to battle the her shadow. The shadows are ultra powerful versions of each girl that have 2 attacks, make sure your girls are healed, use skills to boost their stats (use combo skills found in the chests seen below), and use physical attacks on magic using shadows and magic on physical attack shadows. Do this with all 7 girls and go to the top floor of this block and face the tragic Despair It looks sort of like a semi humanoid being with 2 claws and tentacle feet. It represents the twisted After this battle is complete head back up to the Cell Block which you were cast out of in the beginning of the game. Now you can head to the final block for the main game Purgatory.

    Purgatory:

Purgatory is where things go down. In this end game you discover the ultimate secret of this game. That your girls all have power to become a Knight. A powerful class that can learn all the skills as well as having a defense against certain status effects from enemies depending on which character becomes knighted. You can only knight one character during this scenario of the end game. You will need to beat the game 7 times in order to get the 7 trophies. So you will need several save files. Before this you have only been getting trophies for each floor completed. Now a lot of plot is revealed on this floor and you learn the truth behind Himekime and Miu. You will have to take on the first mini boss Great Devil use conventional boss strategy. Now you will have to face the final boss of the game Himekime. She looks like a distorted monstrous version of herself. What you need to be really prepared for is her Jealousy attack. You will know its happening by her telegraph of charging, make sure to guard or use Invincibility (if you chose Ran use Knight's Guard). Make sure to have tons of remedies too, because she can inflict many status ailments on your party. Now you will have to use different strategies based on what party and knight you have in your party. However these are the basic points you should cover. Make sure to keep your party healed, and make sure you remove status ailments as soon as possible. Make sure to lower stats, and paralyze. Overall this boss with the help of the night is not that difficult to take out. Now lets move on to the post game on the XF Warden's Block.

    Post Games

    XF Warden's Block

After you complete the game 7 times with 7 different files, choose one of these files and continue the game from there. You will have to fight Himekime one more time, but this time is different instead of having and ending with the knighted girl the game will continue as you choose to save both Himekime and Miu. So you will have to face Himekime again. This Block is probably the most important reason for this FAQ. You cannot see the passages in between platforms. So below in the Maps section you will see where all the platforms are located in order to obtain all the chests, but why is that even important getting chests are just helpful right? Well on this Block our goal we are tasked with is to transform all of the girls into knights. In order to do this we have to find all of the knight potions on the first 3 floors of this block then go to Purgatory (in the room where you transformed your first knight) and transform all of the girls (you can also fully motivate them too since you have the final motivate item). So it is necessary to see all of the locations of the chests, this is also where we will find unique joke items that can only be found here. You will face an Arcabalano mini boss on the first floor here. Now lets take on the boss of this Block; Integration System(Sys). This boss appears to be a multi winged masked (chains adorning the body) seraph (angel). Here I would stat boost use invincibility if needed also Shin has a good skill where she will use a powerful skill and get all of the other girls present to use powerful skills as well it is called OPR END (it is costly though). After this battle you will be able to unlock the next Block Garden of Memories .

    Garden of Memories:

You now will have Miu and Himekime in your party a real post game treat. The quest here is to reform these 2 new members. You will have to also prove to the Program's (of Reformation) Management that all of your now 9 girls are reformed. Remember when you had to reform the 7 girls in the Education Block. Well we have to do that here. We will have to dig deep into both of these girl's pasts and help them face their "sins". Once you defeat their shadows. Be Prepared to take on the Program Management herself, Shaitan. She appears to be a female mechanoid goddess. Take out her hands that give her status boosts, and can do damage. Then be prepared for her charge attacks (as with all bosses). Now when you take her out after the credits input a code Up Up Down Down Right Right Left Left X after the credit and when it says Up Next. If the sequence is inputted correctly then you will hear a sound that allows you to know that you did it correctly. Now you have unlocked the final Block Ether Zone 437.

    Ether Zone 437:

This last level is actually only one floor. However the monsters here are quite tough. At this point these mini bosses are really no serious threat. So now that all of your characters are knight its ideal to make sure that you grind them up your max level is 99 with Himikime's field skill grinding takes no time. Also a great skill to use here is Tomoe's Raid, which can insta kill quite a few monsters here making grinding even easier. There are several mini bosses you will have to defeat here. They are The Greed, The Desire, The Lazy, and The Gluttony. The True Final Boss is ZERO. This boss appears to look like a blue palate swapped Intergration Sys (who is mostly comprised of yellow colors). At level 99 and maxed skills using the tradition boss strategy this boss really isn't too difficult (you may want to use some high powered items, but after you complete the game you can easily purchase those items again). Now if you done everything correctly you will be able to have all the trophies now. The rundown being completing all of the blocks, completing all of the girls wishes, getting all of the girls endings, completing all of the motivation mini games with all if the girls, and defeating the true final boss, you should now have all of trophies. CONGRATS YOU ARE NOW A MASTER OF CRIMINAL GIRLS!

    Girl's Skills Charts:

Here are all the charts of all the girl's skills. It is important to understand the power of skills as each girl as a unique power which is connected to their personalities. Kisaragi is your thief character and is a must in battles against bosses, because she can pilfer a special pricey treasures from them. Ran is your Defense character. She has the ability to increase defense as well as grant a temporary invincibility which will be invaluable against boss battles, especially Himekime. Sako and Tomoe are your heavy hitters. The first does have ability to raise stats the later has the ability to insta-kill. Yuko is the healer. Alice is your magic damage dealer. Shin is an amazing character (unfortunately her successor Sui (Criminal Girls 2) pales in comparison). Shin has the OPR ability which basically allows for Shin and any other characters who share the same ability to attack after her. So she will be an invaluable member in your party. The 2 secret characters are unlocked after the completion of the main game and the first post game. Himekime the boss of the main game and Miu the program instructor you meet in the beginning of the game. Himekime is a heavy hitter who can use her boss skills and has an amazing technique that when she is weak can do major damage to the opponent. Miu can use motivation skills on the opponents basically stat weakening skills on enemies. There will be an in depth analysis of all the skills and their costs down below. This shows all the levels of each motivation and the skills acquired once completing that level, Levels 1 through 4 (they are unmarked but box 1 is level 1 and box 4 in the row is level four).

    In Depth Girls Skills

This section will go through all the skills. First we will discuss Battle Bubbles. We will go through the skills in depth.

    Battle Bubbles

In battle you will have to read the script to figure out which each attack will be used. I will give examples of the different Battle Bubbles. Skill Bubble : Alice will say "Brrr", and this means she will use a Freeze attack. The Skill Bubbles are usually special attacks that will consume a descent amount of MP and do An example of Support Bubble is when Kisaragi will say "Gimme Treasure" this means she will use Treasure Hunt. These skills usually are used to boost your party's skills, or in this case stealing an item. They are not used for inflicting primary damage. The Attack Bubble is just a regular physical attack an example is when Sako says "Ready! Set!". A hint you can tell this is a regular attack because when you get higher levels of the regular attack you will see a multiplier number next to the attack bubble (ie Attack x4 meaning all members present can deliver a physical attack). Heal Bubbles restore health points or recover from status elements. An example of this is when Yuko says "I'll cure your status!" Yuko uses Yuko Cure, which heals your party's status ailments (ie Paralyze and Poison). Special Bubbles are when a character uses on of their powerful attacks, an example of this is when Shin is prompted by the bubble (here is an exact example of a bubble: Special 4 Chain MP 78: Operation: Endgame! The 4 here shows that all party members present will be present with their attacks in this attack) Shin states "Operation:Endgame!" she uses OPR End, and uses a powerful attack, which is followed up by the rest of the party members who use their powerful attacks. Extra Skills are done automatically an example of this is Miu's MP Unlimited. This technique makes it so all MP based techniques are reduced to no cost for a few turns. The Guard Bubble is a prompt to where the character will use a defensive technique the major character that uses them is Ran. Ran says "Everyone, guard!" the skill used is the Guard skill, which decreases the damage of the blow particularly from boss fights. Finally Chained Bubble is skills that can be found in the hidden chests. An example is when Tomoe says "Sword of Ice!" and she does Tomoe Freezing Sword with Alice. We also see chain used apart of the attack like the previous example as multiple characters are involved in the attack. These are combined skills of party members of the primary party member who initiates the attack and the supportive member that backs that member up. In this move Alice uses her ice skill to enhance Tomoe's slashing skill. Not all the skills that are passive or triggered will be stated specifically below, but you can know that many of the MP 0 skills that do something to protect the character, buff the character skills, or to increase permanent stats (also the revenge/counter skills) are the passive and trigger skills.

    Skills In Depth

This section will go through all of the girls skills sets and give specifics if necessary (there will be a slight explanation on each but some will not be in depth, because they are intuitively understood). Alice has a magic skill set primarily focused in Ice skills. Sako has a physical skill set primarily focused in fire skills. Kisaragi has a physical skill set primarily focused in poison/thief skills. Ran has a defense skill set primarily focused within thunder skills. Shin has a magic skill set primarily focused in OPR skills. Yuko has a magic skill set primarily focused in healing skills. Tomoe has a physical skill set primarily focussed on insta-kill techniques. Himekime has a physical skill set primarily focused on boss techniques (final boss of main game). Miu has a magic set primarily focused on program instructor techniques. The MP costs are from postgame charts. Not every skill mentioned will be discussed as active passive or extra. To know the difference between these skills are that Active skills will always cost a certain amount of Magic Points (However the cost can decrease to 0 MP). The passive or extra skills are skills that increase permanent stats (ie Health points) or extra skills which are automatic skills that the girls can use (ie Miu's HP Unlimited). These skills will always cost 0 Magic points.
