Review by Master75

Being one of the most anticipated video game systems ever, the Nintendo Wii sold out in nearly every store everywhere for the first week(s) of launch. Truly a revolutionary machine, the Nintendo Wii is capable of much more than just amazing gaming, but also convenience and recreational tools.

Nintendo stuck by their belief that game play and fun is much more important than graphics. The Wii comes with regular cables that support 480i resolution, but can be upgraded to 480p with composite cables (sold separately). While the graphics aren't stunning, they certainly provide the necessary detail for a new gaming system.

When the Wii starts up, there is a home menu that boasts multiple "channels". More channels are available for download all the time with the Wii shop channel. There is also the option to send and receive messages to other Wii users, or approved email addresses with a unique messaging system.

While the Wii has only 512 MB of flash memory built in, it supports storage via SD cards, where you can save game files, media, and virtual console games. Through SD cards or email attachments, the Wii can view and edit photos through the photo channel. It can also view specifically formatted video files. The Wii can be emailed by w(friend code) Also in the Wii shop channel, select games from the Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, and Turbografx. These past games can be downloaded with "Wii Points", which can be purchased in a code format on a card or through a credit card.

The Wii can receive updates and messages 24 hours a day with it's built-in wireless connection to WiiConnect24. The intuitive control system of the Wii makes for creative and new games to be tried by all. The Wii is a system for all, and everyone can find a way to enjoy it's motion sensing fun. Being the cheapest of the new consoles, it's the most affordable, and most appealing to new and non-gamers. Buy a Wii, it is well worth the time and money.
