"Wonderful game, yet horribly underrated"

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, is the first FireEmblem for the Wii, second/probably last in the Radiant series, and 4th release for the U.S.

A lot of people gave this game a pretty low score (4s, 6s), but that's mainly because of the graphics. Graphics don't make a game, meaning you wouldn't play a game solely for the graphics it has to contribute. I find the graphics decent, since the cutscene graphics are great and you can easily distinguish characters on the map.

Another thing some people dislike about it is the gameplay. WELL, IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE GAMEPLAY, DON'T PLAY THE GAME! The FireEmblem series (the entire thing) had similar gameplay. All the producers did was add a lot of stuff (i.e. third tier, dark magic, more skills, etc.).

The difficulty of this game isn't the easiest, but FireEmblem games shouldn't be easy. If you're looking for a strategy game, it should provide a challenge. The addition of battle save completely counters the difficulty, so those who say the game is too hard obviously are not using battle save (not saying I use it). Personally, I think the difficulty adds to the game's replay value and it forces you to fully utilize all your resources.

The story is fine, but towards the end, it got too much about Ashera and the council. The whole Dawn Brigade thing was sort of random, since they were never mentioned earlier, and that they are against the whole government thing...

The sound.. well it's a FireEmblem game, so it should have good music. The animation sounds are good and are synchronized with the character's actions. One thing is that it didn't have full voice acting, but that's justified by the fact that the game has tons of script and just to include voice acting would taken years to find all the people they'd need and how many words they need to say.

There is a minor flaw that a lot of the characters that you get will be unused, especially the laguz. When people use laguz, it's usually the royals (laguz kings: Tibarn, Naesala, etc) or the dragons. The royals have formshift and the dragons are incredibly powerful, so why use the others? Lightning magic wasn't too good in Path of Radiance, and it hasn't gotten better. With the addition of dark magic, and new spells for all the others, lightning just isn't very useful. these things create a small unbalance in the game.

Overall, I find the game enticing and underrated by a lot of people. Lots of new stuff, new characters, and interesting plot. Almost a 10.
