"Guitar Hero Finally Comes to Wii!"
Guitar Hero, arguably one of the best rythem and music games to come out in along time, has finally come out on an Nintendo system. All I can say is, the wait has almost been unbearable. Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock is in my opinion, the best Guitar Hero in the series. It has an amazing songlist and the transfer over to a wireless guitar was spotless. Also, Guitar Hero is no longer made by Harmonix, but Activision and Red Octane.
Graphics: 9/10 - The graphics in Guitar Hero 3 are very well done, especially for a rythem game. Although there is not much to see, the notes can be clearly seen and are very vibrant colors. The stages you will play on are all extremely different and are textured and animated very nicely. Basically that is all I can say in this section. If you want to buy a rythem game, graphics should be the least of your worries.
Sound: 10/10 - Now this is a big one for rythem and music games. Guitar Hero 3 has simply put, amazing sound quality. Every single instrument can be heard but the guitar is what really shines here. It is like you are listening to the original recording! All the sounds of the guitar are done magnificently and even though you are hearing the same genre for every song, the songs are very varied and, dare I say it, intense.
Gameplay: 9/10 - Nothing has changed here from the original Guitar Hero. The core gameplay is the same, strum the correct note with the corresponding fret pressed down. Sounds simple enough but ohhh dear god it is not, especially on hard and expert! The big change here is the introduction of battle mode which is a new way to play multiplayer in Guitar Hero. There is also the inclusion of Online Play, which is a worthy addition to an already stellar game.
Replay Value: 8/10 - The replay value in Guitar Hero 3 could have been better. Online is fun, but does not hold your attention for very long and once you have beaten all songs on hard or expert, there is really no point in doing it again. Also, some of the bonus songs are admittedly, pretty lame as well.
Overall: 9/10 - Overall, Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock is a great addition to any Wii owners library and you owe it to yourself to check this gem out.
Reviewer's Rating: 4.5 - Outstanding
