"Another great Mario game."

It's the usual Mario plot; Princess Peach is kidnapped and Mario must save her. As Mario you travel through several different areas, each with their own unique theme. Not much different, but It's not a game you play for the story.
Score: 2/5

This is where the game really shines. It's easy to control Mario and his pals, anyone can really pickup and play this game. Gamers and their families will be able to grasp the game easily (because playing Mario with the family is a blast). The new 4 player system is great. At anytime during the game, anyone can jump in (or out, if they get angry). For the hardcore gamers, the multi-player mode is not recommended. Everybody collides with all the other players. While it creates some funny situations, it causes many deaths and game-overs. The levels were designed for 1-player, not 4. However, the awkward level design for more than 4 players is really enjoyable, as everyone fights for the platform big enough for one person.
Multi-player Score: 4/5
Single-player Score: 4.5/5

The graphics, music, and level designs are tried and true Mario style. Even for a wii game, the graphics are what you would expect. The colorful Mushroom Kingdom is a masterpiece. There are plenty of different themed worlds. Each with their own unique style. From a grassy jungle, to the lava filled castles; there are rocky mountains, and other perfectly crafted areas. The Koopas and Goombas "dance" to the music. The music is catchy; while at the same time is the familiar "Mario tunes". Everything "fits".
Score: 5/5

Fun Factor
It is a blast to play. Even if you start by yourself, friends and family can hop right in and join the fun. The level designs are great and it's humorous competing for the limited power ups available. However, the game can become aggravating, if played with the wrong people. As long as you can enjoy the game for what it is, not what it could be, you should have plenty of fun. There are several power ups: The regular mushrooms, propeller hats, penguin suits, fire and ice flowers, mini mushrooms, and stars. Older gamers may remember some of these from previous Mario games. While you don't get the penguin suit or mini mushroom often, they still add the the game at different areas. It is fun trying to get the power up first. However, some players will cause mayhem, dragging the camera forward and killing every single other person. Depending on the crowd playing, it can be absolutely fun, or frustrating.
Good Crowd Score: 4.5/5
Bad Crowd Score: 2/5
1 player Score: 4/5

Another great addition to the Mario series. A must have game for the wii. It's a good game if you play alone, but gets better and harder with more people. As long as you have someone else to play with, it's a must have.
Score: 4.5/5
