Star Wars makes another successful game
Although Star Wars games recently seem to be remakes of other games (Battlefront-Battlefield 1942, and Republic Commando-Counter Strike) they seem to be exciting just the same.
Graphics: 9/10 These graphics are quite colorful, they really add to the environment and make the game seem more realistic. The windshield wiper effect after alien guts splatter on your helmet is quite amusing. All in all these graphics are good but they aren't the best. Small things like different visors to view the world with help the game in this category too.
Sound: 8/10 The sound effects are quite good but the repeated voice lines leave something to be desired. Some of the conversations between your men are hilarious and really add to the game. Explosions and blaster fire sound good as well as the various melee attacks.
Game play: 7/10 The enemies in the game are numerous enough, but the weapons and ammo are not. You basically get one weapon through the entire game. Sure you have a pistol and a sniper and rocket attachment, but that doesn't keep most people amused. Once in a while you will be able to pick up a beam weapon from one of the elite bugs but they run out pretty quick. The lack of weapons is the biggest flaw in the game play.
Replay Value: 9/10 There is a lot of replay value in this game especially if you have a subscription to Xbox live. Even without that there are difficulty settings to play through the campaign again and split screen multi-player settings.
Buy or Rent?: If you are a star wars junkie I suggest that you buy this game and add it to your collection. If you are not rent it first and see if you like it.
Overall: 8/10 This is a good game but it has some minor flaws that take away from the game play. There is not a vast arsenal of weaponry so the variety is another thing that is lacking. All of these detract from what is otherwise a colorful and exciting game.
Rating: 4.0 - Great
