Ash is back in what appears to be his best videogame outing yet! After his
previous XBox title, A Fistful of Boomstick, Ash has stepped up and proved to
get back to traditional Evil Dead roots using a straight foward brawl against
hordes of Deadites. It even includes Ash's trusted weapons and an endless
    barrage of cheesy one-liners.
Regeneration introduces you to a sidekick, Sam. He's an annoying, but some how
loveable little midget. He's there to be used and abused whenever you like...
You can play this demo by buying the October issue of OXM...
                               (C-C) CONTROLS (C-C)
Here's a brief over-look of the controls. The game does include some quick
pop-ups explaining some moves, but here they are in black and white for you.

                            (W-T) WALK-THROUGH (W-T)
Ash'll come bursting out the cellar, with his new sidekick, Sam, in close
concession. Enjoy the short, but humuerous cutscene and then get ready for the
The game'll literally set up the first challenge for you, which is to simply
kick Sam into a basketball hoop. To do so, just press the Up button on the
D-Pad and Ash'll punt the little critter into it. You could enjoy a few minutes
here of pure Deadite-basketball abuse, but we want to see some REAL action
involving all sorts of zombies and monsters, so let's get to it. Target and
punt Sam through the window to the right of the hoop, and then smash the boxes
to splinters with Ash's chainsaw. Climb through into the crematorium.
Head over to the lever on the wall and pull it, opening up the main furance.
Use your basketball practise here once again to punt Sam right in there!
Once the poor Deadite comes back down to Earth, step through the newly designed
opening in the wall. Follow the paths across the field, down the steps and then
    through the gate.
Cemetaries are usually bad places to be, but luckily Sam is equipped with a
chainsaw for an arm! So walk further into the graveyard to experience your
    first fight.
It's Skeleton bashing time! Experiment with everything you've got combat-wise,
since testing out Ash's slick combos are a treat for the eyes. These first four
enemies aren't challenging so it is a perfect opitunity to get to grips with
combat controls. The best and easiest way to get through most of these fights
unharmed though, is to simply rack up a B-B-B-B combo, slicing each enemy in
two each time. The more you progress through the graveyard, the more skeletons
will appear, increasing in numbers and abilities. During the last wave of
skeletons, they'll have the ability to throw darts (Or at least some
projectile) at you, causing Ash to pause in combat, leaving himself open to
    attack! Be careful!
Once the whole crew of evil skeletons have been defeated, the game'll show you
that a nearby gate has been newly opened, so head that way. Follow the path
around until you hear an earth-pounding noise...What kind of evil and really
big bad guy is making that noise?! Well, keep moving and chainsaw the vine
    blockade to find out.
...Yup, it's one giant Deadite monster! *gulp* And he even left two agile,
defensive and ARMED foes to deal with you. These two monsters helps prepare you
for a little variety in fighting, so it's not just a button mashing session.
The way to defeat these guys is to punt poor Sam at their heads whilst you hack
and slash at the body. Take them on one at a time, making sure you use the Jump
Slash move. (To perform Jump Slash, press A and then B.)
Once they're both defeated, rush to the gate to watch a very nice cutscene
(Gotta love the humour in this game) involving Sam's hatred of rats.
After the cutscene is over, the spirtitual place of power will be presented to
you, so rush back to that spot and jump on it. When you're ready, hit Y to take
control of Sam's body. Take a bit of time here to learn what this character can
do, so playing with his moves is a good starting place. When you think you've
mastered Sam's abilites, head to the small cave that Ash pointed out in the
cutscene. Hit Y to clamber inside. Walk around the cave, smashing up the two
rats that appear whilst dodging the hude Deadite's powerful rock throws!
This part of the game got a couple of people confused, since they had no clue
what to do. People thought it involved killing the deadite, or using the
barrels, but instead, it's simply a small, over-looked little tunnel just
opposite the barrels. Climb through by pressing Y.
Now here's a fun part! Hit Y to jump on to the Deadite and ride him! He'll go
mad and run everywhere, smashing things to bits in an attempt to throw you off.
Just guide your newly found ride left and right to smash up some of the
skeletons that pop up out of the ground. Once you reach the gate, a friendly
hint box will tell you to press Y to Powersmash open the gate. Do so, and watch
Sam get splattered. Poor little critter...
(Note: I don't actually know if this is a boss fight, but I've included it as
one since the enemy is pretty huge and attacks in the traditional boss-style.)
This enemy is one strong Deadite, who picks up rocks and lobs them at Sam
without effort. Normal attacks won't have any effects since he'll just decide
to smash you in a single effort, taking a lot of health with it. So using what
you learnt in a previous battle (I'm talking about the two skeletons who could
block), kick Sam on to his head and let Ash work with his chainsaw and shotgun
combo. Be warned, in an attempt to overwhelm you, skeletons will appear 2 at a
time from the ground and'll attack you whenever. Usually the Boss will take
them out for you with his huge, cumbersome hands, but focus on the Boss for
When he does go down, he'll just simply collapse, allowing you to continue on
    your way.
As Ash enters this next part of the graveyard, more evil creatures will spawn,
only this time by jumping out of the crypts themselves. Kick Sam at one of
them, whilst you attack the other. Don't be fooled once they're down, since
they'll just come back unless you chainsaw them up until a massive cloud of
green smoke arises from their corpses.
Follow the path round until you come to a circular courtyard. You want to kick
Sam up on to the two Deadites on the crypt first, since they throw things which
can stun Ash for a couple of seconds. Whilst Sam is busy, mash up the remaining
Deadites on the ground. You can head right and into the cave from just a little
while ago to regenerate some health points, but since you won't be fighting
anybody else, head back and go slice up the vines blocking your path and head
through. Finnaly, go through the final gate to watch the nice, closing cutscene
which just whets your appetite for more...
    ...ASH IS BACK!
(CTC) CROSSING THE CHASM: A MINI GUIDE (CTC)
                                            by Heith
Thanks to Heith, who e-mailed me asking for some help on this section, came
back and actually sent me the solution for it. Broswing the boards, I've seen
many topics asking to cross it, so here it is:
Possess Sam, climb across, push the support out from under the rock, blah blah.
Now you're Ash again. Climb the boxes next to the house and get up to the roof.
Go over to the left where the camera suddenly pans backwards and it shows you
that drawbridge lookin' thing off to the left. I'm playing on the PS2, so the
buttons will differ slightly, but press the 'target enemy' button and you will
automatically lock on to the end of the drawbridge. Fire the harpoon gun, and
it will pull the bridge down to your level. (you can do this with that other
bridge across the way, where you'll find a symbol that increases your 'evil'
Cross it, jump down, and pull the car on the tracks with the harpoon gun, same
way you did the one before. Now go left of the bridge and walk up to where the
rock fell earlier. Press the 'action' button (Y on xbox, I believe) to 'wall
creep' across. Follow the cliff around to the left, where you'll fight off a
gaggle of bad guys and wind up at the top of the ladder that Sam climbed
earlier when he pushed the rock. Jump down and use the chainsaw to break the
barrier into the cave, and you're on your own again. :)

Q: "I saw on line that you have a walk-through guide for the demo of the
game. By any chance do you have a walk-through guide for the entire
game, or know of how I can get help or a guide of the game."
I read your evil dead faq and was wondering if u were gonna make a full one
cause i own the great game and just suck on some dam level with no clues."
"Hi I went though your walkthrough on evil dead regeneration hoping to find
out how to get across the gorge in the mines I make it to where it looks
like a big rock should move but it doesn't can u help me please. The gorge
that I am talking about is the one just after u get the harpoon gun.
Anything at all would be greatly appreciated."
A: I've been getting a lot of these e-mails in the past few days, and the
answer still hasn't changed. No. Well, for the time being anyway, since I don't
believe the game has been released in Europe, and even if it has, I don't have
the full release. You'll just have to live it out until another user writes up
a guide or until I can. Sorry.
Thanks to summergrl99xx for the info.
Q: "How do I get out into the window at the start? Ash can't get there and Sam
keeps dying everytime I kick him in there! HELP!"
A: I mentioned how to do it in the guide, but if you are having trouble, simply
smash up the boxes outside and then punt Sam inside. Simple.
