Where can I find Blacksmithing Supplies for sale?
I've been looking around for blacksmithing supplies everywhere, but I still cant find the materials I've been looking for. Can anybody give me the names and locations of NPCs that sell materials?

General advice: look at merchants near smithys/forges.
Also, the BEST way to get smithing supplies is to salvage every possible item you can at a forge. This is highly recommended over searching all over for vendors who usually have a limited stock/quality of such items.

I believe as early as Shieldring the same shops that sell weapons and armor will sell components (located near the bottom of the vendors wares but before items you sold) however they are typically a tier lower than the equipment they sell (such as having steel armor but iron components for sale); as Boodaboy suggested, it's best to salvage items for getting the best tier you can equip, however it's a chance for salvaging so you may want to save before salvaging anything nice and I wouldn't bother salvaging equipment that's not your class, sure you can get some components, but it might be better to have a little extra cash on you. Also when crafting don't get rid of your current equipment before making new stuff, you can end up hurting if your broke and you don't meet the requirements for some of your armor or weapons.

Early on, I reckon "salvage"-ing weapons you intend to sell is your best bet in gathering crafting materials. But these will most likely only yield "crude" or at best "basic" components. Don't forget to resume your game if you don't like what you salvaged, 'cause the stuff you get pretty much randomizes each turn (as long as they make up the item you salvaged, of course). Later on you can invest in a variety of support components like rivets and such for near 1,000 gold from merchants near blacksmiths (NPCs who repair you equipment).

Like they said most merchants near forges will have components.
salvaging everything you get is a bad idea though. i recomemnd selling most items and salvaging the items you know will give the items you want. if you just need the base component (blades or armor and that sort) salvaging basic white items will work. but if youre looking for the extra components try salvaging items that have what your looking for (health/damage/crit). some blue items will have higher end components. an easy way to make sure you get what you want is to save before salvaging and reloading the game. im not sure about the later areas but rathir had a good supply of greater and even some master quality items in their stocks for merchants for around 1-2k gold which shouldnt be a problem if you sell all the trash insted of salavaging it.
